In the virtual fitting system, the use of a 3D avatar is not a simple garment model, but it should be able to reproduce the size and shape of the customer using a fitting system. Although various virtual fitting systems have their own 3D avatar sizing systems and provide 3D avatars that match the size of the customer, there are limitations in realizing the actual body shape in actual use by the consumer. The purpose of this study is to realize a 3D avatar with excellent size and conformity for customer use. Therefore, this study aims to provide basic data for the formation of a 3D standard avatar of Korean women aged in their 20's, by comparing and analyzing the degree of the consumer user friendly system change of a body type, and the consumer's ability in selecting a consumer representative body type. Based on the survey data of 'Size Korea' conducted from 2004 to 2015 at three times, we examined the change of body shape over 10 years. Then, based on the results of 6th and 7th data, 4 factors of the concurrent body shape change of women of the consumer demographic studied were selected through the use of a factor analysis. Following this analysis, the 4 extracted factors were clustered again and finally released 7 representative body types, which were obtained based on height and weight. The size of each representative figure is derived by the use of a regression analysis, and it is used as a basic data for 3D avatar formation of the virtual fitting system.

The purpose of this study was to offer typical facial shapes Korean women in their 20's to 50's. We used facial photographs of 600 Korean women obtained from $2003\sim2004$ Size Korea Project and we measured these photographs indirectly in this study by utilizing the Venus face2D program. Total 62 measurements on the face were measured and analyzed by statistical methods. The results were as follows. First of all, the mean of face length was 196mm, top face length was 62.3mm, middle face length was 68.9mm, bottom face length was 66.5mm, mean of forehead width was 125.1mm. As based on those average sizes, we proposed a average facial size and shape of Korean women and a average facial size and shape of 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's in this study. When examined characteristic of 20's facial shape, it was recognized that the width of forehead was wider and the width of gnathion was smaller than other age groups. In the characteristic of 30's facial shape, the ratios of facial length, top of face, middle of face and bottom of face were balanced well, as comparing with other age groups. Overall, the values of facial measurement of 30's were similar to the averages of total women. In the facial shape of 40's, mean length and width of face each were the smallest among each age group. The eye shape of 40's was more drooped than the average eye shape and the protrusion of the zygomatic bone was significantly different. In case of the facial shape of 50's, it was similar to the facial shape of 40's, but mean lengths and widths of 50's face were slightly larger than the values of 40's. The eye shape of 50's was more drooped than average group and the eye length was the smallest among all age groups.
At the present time, container transportation plays a key role in the international logistics and the efforts to increase the productivity of container logistics become essential for Korean trucking companies to survive in the domestic as well as global competition. This study suggests an approach for determining fleet size for container road transportation with dynamic demand. Usually the vehicles operated by the transportation trucking companies in Korea can be classified into three types depending on the ways how their expenses occur; company-owned truck, mandated truck which is owned by outsider who entrust the company with its operation, and rented vehicle (outsourcing). Annually the trucking companies should decide how many company-owned and mandated trucks will be operated considering vehicle types and the transportation demands. With the forecasted monthly data for the volume of containers to be transported a year, a heuristic algorithm using tabu search is developed to determine the number of company-owned trucks, mandated trucks, and rented trucks in order to minimize the expected annual operating cost. The idea of the algorithm is based on both the aggregate production planning (APP) and the pickup-and-delivery problem (PDP). Finally the algorithm is tested for the problem how the trucking company determines the fleet size for transporting containers.
The aim of this study was to investigate the histochemical parameters of muscle fibers, and to estimate the correlation between these histological parameters and carcass traits in pigs. A total of 230 crossbred Duroc$\times$(Yorkshire$\times$Landrace) pigs (149 gilts and 81 castrated male pigs) was evaluated. Carcass traits (carcass weight, backfat thickness, and loin eye area), muscle fiber size (crosssectional area, diameter, and perimeter), muscle fiber number (density of fibers/$mm^2$ and total number of fibers), and fiber type composition (percentages of myofibers and relative areas of each fiber type) were evaluated. Mean cross-sectional area (CSA) and type IIB fiber CSA were positively correlated to carcass weight, backfat thickness and loin eye area. Mean fiber CSA was mostly related to type IIB CSA (r=0.98) as a result of the high percentage of type IIB fibers in the longissimus muscle. Correlations between fiber diameters and perimeters were also high, and showed similar results with CSA. Mean fiber density was negatively correlated to carcass weight (r=-0.24), backfat thickness (r=-0.18) and loin eye area (r=-0.27). To the contrary, total fiber number was positively correlated with carcass weight (r=0.27) and loin eye area (r=0.53). Carcass weight and loin eyZe area were not significantly related to muscle fiber composition. For backfat thickness, there was an opposition between type IIA percentage, which was positively related and type IIB percentage, which was negatively related. Fiber type composition of type I and IIA fibers were negatively correlated to that of type IIB fibers (r=-0.67 to -0.74). In the present study, carcass weight and loin eye area were positively correlated to CSA and negatively correlated to fiber density. But, these relationships were generally low. The fiber density was strongly affected by muscle fiber size and the total fiber number was affected either by CSA of muscle fiber and loin eye area. Fiber type composition was much more related to their numerical abundance than their CSA.
Zooplankton is an important constituent in assessing ecosystem responses to global warming. The northern East China Sea is an important ecosystem for carbon cycling with a net sink of carbon dioxide. Despite their importance as a major component in carbon cycling, relatively little is known about zooplankton biomass structure and its regulating factors in the northern East China Sea. This study examined zooplankton biomass distribution pattern in the region from multiple cruises encompassing various seasons between 2004 and 2009. Results showed that zooplankton biomass exhibits less cross-shelf gradient in general with declining biomass to the eastern shelf towards the Tsushima Current Water. Size-fractionated biomass showed that the 1.0~2.0 mm size group, mostly copepods, dominated zooplankton biomass, comprising 38 to 48% of total biomass. Smaller zooplankton (0.2~1.0 mm) biomass, consisting mainly of Paracalanus spp, a particle eating herbivorous copepod, was positively related to chlorophyll-a concentration, but no relationship was established for larger zooplankton (1.0~5.0 mm). Spatially-averaged mean total zooplankton biomass was also highly related to chlorophyll-a concentration. These result suggest that the long-term trend of zooplankton biomass increase in this region is partly accounted for by the increases of phytoplankton biomass and productivity underway in the region. However, the underlying mechanisms of how sea surface warming in the study area leads to increased phytoplankton biomass and productivity remains unclear.
Although alcohol misuse contributes substantially to mortality from diseases, injuries and adverse effects, a few attempts have been made to figure out size of adverse consequences attributable to alcohol in Korea. This study was conducted to describe trends of estimated deaths attributable to alcohol in Korea. Estimations were made by employing Korean alcohol aetiological fraction(AEF) into deaths from alcohol-related diseases, injuries, and adverse effects from year of 1995 through 2000. Korean AEF was derived from previous studies on AEF applied to USA and Canada (Schultz et al.,1991; English et al., 1995) with reflecting peculiar drinking patterns in Korea. An average number of deaths attributable to alcohol was 21,123, accounting for 8.76% of all deaths reported to National Statistical Office during the period. Death rates attributable to alcohol tended to decrease from year of 1995 to 1997 and then increased with peak at year of 1999. Sex-age standardized alcohol attributable death rates varied among areas, with those of metropolitan areas being lower than those of non metropolitan areas. Years of potential life lost (YPLL) were estimated to reflect qualitative aspect of deaths attributable to alcohol. Similar change patterns during the year were observed between number of deaths and YPLL. Average YPLL of men was longer than that of women by about 4 years. Some implications for future study have been discussed.
The shipping industry can be explained by a growing process of concentration and centralization of tonnage. A few largest shipping company control a great deal of shipping tonnage in the total tonnage through the process of concentration and centralization of tonnage in shipping over time. It confirms that a decreasing number of operators take an increasing quantity of tonnage in the total tonnage. Thus, the extremely dualistic structure (extremely unequal distribution of tonnage) are shown not only in the shipping industry in a given country but also in liner shipping in the world In this paper, the two countries, that is, Korea and Egypt, are compared considering the absolute size of tonnage and shipping policy in tenn., of concentration and centralization of tonnage in shipping. In order to measure the degree of concentration of tonnage in shipping, the quantitative measurements; the Lorenz curve and Gini coefficient are introduced. But it should be supplemented with the qualitative measures of tonnage in a given country.
Recently in worldwide and Korea domestically, the LRT vehicles are introduced as reputable urban transit system, in a view of energy saving, punctuality and eco-friendly as well as transport efficiency. At first time in Korea, the Busan metro Line 4 was applied with AGT system which is a kind of LRT using the Rubber tired AGT vehicle and developed from 1999 to 2004 in charge of Korean government. Busan selected the AGT system for Metro Line 4 as the solution of traffic jam and networking the intercity. At present, Busan Metro Line 4 has been running since opened at March 30, 2011. The vehicle of Busan metro line 4 is aiming the maximization of LRT vehicle advantage that is the lightness of vehicle size and vehicle weight. So, it did size downed and weight downed by lightened the weight of car frame and bogies and by the compactness of electrical on-board equipments. The study carried out the structure analysis to verify and safety and performance of car body and bogie frame of Busan Metro Line 4 vehicles. In this study, it was analyzed the stress of main load and verified the fatigue strength. And measured the dynamic stress sending to body structure and bogie frame while running on main line and analyzed the fatigue stress. As a result, it verified the safety and life cycle of car body and bogie frame.
For orthodontic treatment of growing patients and those which involve long treatment times, knowledge of growth and development are essential. Data from the general growth observation chart being used at present does not reflect the growth transition of modern times. This is because these data are out of date. The present study, therefore, aims to introduce the process of producing a growth curve and growth rate curve based on data which represents a more accurate description of the present situation. The data used were from the 5th nationwide surrey, SIZE KOREA 2004 study, carried out by the Technology and Standards Policy Division, Department of Technology and Standards Planning, Ministry of Commerce. Processing and rearranging produced data with variations divided into the three quartiles and the 1st, 5th, 95th and 99th percentiles were included to produce a growth observation chart according to sex, height and weight differences. In the same way, a growth rate curve based on the geometric mean value was produced. The resulting growth charts can be used as an index for growth and development, and used for better communication between the orthodontist, patients and parents.

Genetic algorithm is the theory of grafting the principle of survival of the fittest in genetics on to the computer algorithm and it is used to solve the optimization problems, especially the shape and size optimization of the structure in Architectural problems. In the size optimization problem discrete variables are used, but series variables have to be used in the shape optimization problem because of the incongruenty. The purpose of this study is to obtain the optimum shape of cable domes by using the real coding genetic algorithm. Generally, the structural performance of the cable domes is influenced very sensitively by pre-stress, geometry and length of the mast because of its flexible characteristic. So, it is very important to decide the optimum shape to get maximum stiffness of cable domes. We use the model to verify the usefulness of this algorithm for shape optimization and analyze the roof system of Seoul Olympic Gymnastic Arena as analytical model of a practical structures. It is confirmed lastly that the optimum shape domes have more stiffness than initial shape ones.
