  • Most data parallel languages provide the block-cyclic distribution (cyclic(k)) that is one of the most general regular distributions. In order to generate local addresses for an array section A(l:h:s) with block-cyclic distribution, efficient compiling methods or run-time methods are required. In this paper, two local address generation methods for the block-cyclic distribution are presented. One is a simple scan method that is modified from the virtual-block scheme. The other is a linear-time ${\Delta}M$ table that contains the local memory access information construction method. This method is simpler than other algorithms for generating a ${\Delta}M$ table. Experimental results show that a simple that a simple scan method has poor performance but a linear-time ${\Delta}M$ table generation method is faster than other algorithms in ${\Delta}M$ table generation time and access time for 10,000 array elements.

  • 3D mesh metamorphosis (morphing) deals with two input polyhedral objects and generates an animation in which the source mesh gradually changes to the target through in-between meshes. The basic and common idea of previous mesh morphing techniques can be summarized as the construction and interpolation of a metamesh. However, an approach based on a metamesh has fundamental limitations of complicated in-between meshes and no topology (connectivity) changes in a metamorphosis. This paper presents a novel approach for 3D mesh morphing, which is not based on a metamesh and overcomes the limitations of previous work. The approach simultaneously interpolates the topology and geometry of input meshes. With the approach, an in-between mesh contains only the vertices from the source and target meshes. Since no additional vertices are introduced, the in-between meshes are much simpler than those generated by previous techniques.

  • Since 1990s, these many researchers have been fully involved in developing recycling methods for FRP boats. There are four basic classes of recycling covered in the literature. the first is "Mechanical recycling" which involves shredding and grinding of the scrap FRP in a new product. Despite of the safety hazards, mechanical recycling is one of the simpler and more technically proven methods. Recent researchers should be more interested in these methods. It is fact that most of FRP wastes are depended on incineration or reclamation. Because it Is made up of reinforced fiber glass, it is very difficult to break into pieces. By the disposing of waste FRP this way, it also occurs secondary problem such as air pollution and unacceptable noise. This study is to propose a new method which is efficient and environment friendly waste FRP regenerating.

  • A new algorithm for determining optimal accelerometer locations is proposed by using a frequency-domain Hankel matrix which is much simpler to construct than a time-domain Hankel matrix. The algorithm was examined through simulation studies by comparing the outcomes with those from other available methods. To compare and analyze the results from different methods, a dynamic analysis was carried out under seismic excitation and acceleration data were obtained at the selected optimal sensor locations. Vibrational amplitudes at the selected sensor locations were determined and those of all the other degrees of freedom were determined by using a spline function. MAC index of each method was calculated and compared to look at which method could determine more effective locations of accelerometers. The proposed frequency-domain Hankel matrix could determine reasonable selection of accelerometer locations compared with the others.

  • The image obtained from systems such as autonomous driving cars or fire-fighting robots often suffer from several degradation such as noise, motion blur, and compression artifact due to multiple factor. It is difficult to apply image recognition to these degraded images, then the image restoration is essential. However, these systems cannot recognize what kind of degradation and thus there are difficulty restoring the images. In this paper, we propose the deep neural network, which restore natural images from images degraded in several ways such as noise, blur and JPEG compression in situations where the distortion applied to images is not recognized. We adopt the channel attention modules and skip connections in the proposed method, which makes the network focus on valuable information to image restoration. The proposed method is simpler to train than other methods, and experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods.

  • The aim of this paper is to extract features from each news scenes for example, symbol icon which can be distinct each broadcasting corp, icon and caption which are has feature and important information for the scene in respectively, In this paper, we propose extraction methods of caption that has important prohlem of news videos and it can be classified in three steps, First of al!, we converted that input images from video frame to YIQ color vector in first stage. And then, we divide input image into regions in clear hy using equalized color histogram of input image, In last, we extracts caption using edge histogram based on vertical and horizontal line, We also propose the method which can extract news icon in selected key frames by the difference of inter-histogram and can divide each scene by the extracted icon. In this paper, we used comparison method of edge histogram instead of complex methcxls based on color histogram or wavelet or moving objects, so we shorten computation through using simpler algorithm. and we shown good result of feature's extraction.

  • In this paper, a damage assessment technique using a moving load test and optical sensors was studied to overcome the deficiency of measurement information in bridge maintenance. Continuous displacements by applying the reciprocal theorem to the test can make the assessment simpler and more practical. Numerical and experimental studies were performed to show the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed technique as well as the possibility of a more realistic assessment for large infrastructure. The results showed that the assessed damage levels are quite accurate, and similar to the exact values in actual damage locations, even in the experiments. The proposed technique is useful and practical for both detecting damage locations and damage quantities.

  • This paper proposes a method to determine the initial equilibrium state of cable members for preliminary analysis of multi-span suspension bridge under dead load. The proposed method is simpler and more practical than the previous methods used in other studies. The proposed method can be applied to three-span or multi-span suspension bridges. To verify the proposed method, an three-span model as well as four-span models such as New Millenium Bridge in Korea and Yingwuzhou Bridge in China are analyzed. In the verification results, the initial coordinates and tensions of the members calculated by the proposed method are good agreement with those in the previous study for the three-span model and those in the design data of New Millenium Bridge. In addition, the proposed method gives the initial values to keep the initial configuration of Yingwuzhou Bridge.

  • This paper introduces an adaptive nonlinear filtering algorithm that uses the sequential regression(SER) method to update the second order Volterra filter coefficients in a recursive way. Conventionally, the SER method has been used to invert large matrices which result from direct application of Wiener filter theory to the Volterra filter. However, the algorithm proposed in this paper uses the SER approach to update the least squares solution which is derived for Gaussian input signals. In such an algorithm, the size of the matrix to be inverted is smaller than that of conventional approaches, and hence the proposed method is computationally simpler than conventional nonlinear system identification techniques. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • This article is to review various methods used to investigate internal and marginal adaptation of fixed dental prostheses, and to summarize a merit, worth, and limitation of each method, using some results of previous studies. The methods of measuring internal and marginal gap are divided into two categories in this study; in vivo and in vitro. In vivo methods are clinical evaluations, including exploration, radiography, and impression technique. In vitro methods are laboratory evaluations such as direct view, cross-sectioning, and silicone replica technique using microscope. Measuring by micro computed tomography (CT) or profilometer is also in vitro methods. In recent years, the development of scanning systems is able to analyze 3-dimensional internal and marginal space in detail. As measuring and analyzing technology become more advanced, the ability to thoroughly examine crown adaptation is becoming both simpler and more efficient.
