  • In order to strengthen the competitiveness of small business startups with insufficient internal and external resources, the government has implemented SMEs consulting support projects. However, as an intangible knowledge service, consulting services also have their own shortcomings such as the risk of time, effort and quality uncertainty. And all kinds of risks will be borne by the companies which receive consulting services. Therefore, many companies which receive consulting services in Korea are questioning the reliability of the consulting results and have a negative attitude on this industry. In addition, they consider the cost-effectiveness of consulting is relatively low. Finally, this study performed an empirical study on recommendation intention of small business startups which received consulting and also focused on the comparison between Korean and Chinese startups.

  • Purpose - Prior researches have empirically focused on the effect of management consulting quality and consultant capability on entrepreneurial firms' performance. This study, however, focused on investigating the moderating role of absorptive capacity and resource capability between management consulting and entrepreneurial firms' performance. So, this study investigated the relationship among consulting quality, consultant capability, absorptive capacity, resource capability, and entrepreneurial firms' performance from the resource based view (RBV). Especially, this study focused on the mediating role of absorptive and resource capability in relational structure of entrepreneurial firms' dimensions. Research design, data, and methodology - In this study, research hypotheses and model are established by the prior researches from the fields of strategic management and entrepreneurial behavior. Concretely, H1~H4 are the relationship between consulting (consulting quality, consultant capability) and innovation (absorptive capacity, resource capability); H5 is the relationship between absorptive capacity and resource capability; and H6~H7 are the relationship between innovation (absorptive capacity, resource capability) and management performance. The data was collected 207 copies from entrepreneurial firms in South Korea. These firms were established in January 2014 and maintained by November 2015 in high-tech industry. The questionnaire was consisted of five dimensions; consulting quality, consultant capability, absorptive capacity, resource capability, and management performance. Each dimension measured multi items on a 5-point Likert scale. The hypotheses and research model are analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) with AMOS 22. Results - The results of this study are as follows. 1) Consulting quality significantly influenced on the absorptive capacity of entrepreneurial firms. 2) But, consultant capability did not influence on the absorptive capacity of entrepreneurial firms. 3) Consulting quality and consultant capability significantly influenced on the resource capability of entrepreneurial firms. 4) Absorptive capacity significantly influenced on the resource capability of entrepreneurial firms; 5) Absorptive capacity did not significantly influence on the management performance of entrepreneurial firms. 6) Resource capability, however, significantly influenced on the management performance of entrepreneurial firms. By these results, absorptive capacity of entrepreneurial firms had a mediating role partly among consulting quality, consultant capability, and management capability. The resource capability of entrepreneurial firms had a mediating role among consulting quality, consultant capability, and management capability, perfectly. Conclusions - According to this study, the high level of consulting quality and consultant capability may enforce the resource capability of entrepreneurial firms. • Concrete members with wide surface area are vulnerable to cracking due to material behavior such as hydration heat and drying shrinkage. Recently many researches have been performed on improvement of strength and cracking resistance through fiber reinforcement, which are mainly focused on enhancement of tensile strength against cracking due to material behavior. In this paper, CFs(Cellulous Fibers) are manufactured for slurry type, and the engineering properties in cement mortar incorporated with CFs are evaluated for flow-ability, compressive, and flexural strength. Through SEM analysis, a pull-off characteristics of CF in matrix are analyzed. With CF addition of $0.5kg/m^3{\sim}1.0kg/m^3$, flexural strength is much improved and enough toughness of pull-off is also observed unlike plastic fiber containing smooth surface.

  • This study identified the influence of employees' hybrid start-up intention (intention to start a business while maintaining a job) on the employees' self-determination motivation (intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation) and prior knowledge through the Model of Goal-directed Behavior (MGB). We used a PLS-SEM called SmartPLS 3.0 for 126 valid samples collected by judgement extraction for office workers throughout June 13, 2020 to July 3, 2020, and empirically evaluated the measurement model (internal consistency reliability, convergent and discriminant validity) and the structural model (multicollinearity, determination coefficient, effect size, predictive relevance, etc.). Only the intrinsic motivation for realizing the hybrid start-up goal of office workers had a significant impact on the hybrid start-up attitude and subjective norms, and the prior knowledge of hybrid start-up had a significant impact on the hybrid start-up desire and the hybrid start-up intention. In order to induce hybrid start-ups for workers with unstable employment, we need systems and programs that can inspire employees with intrinsic motivation and knowledge about hybrid start-up, so follow-up researches are necessary to analyze about government systems and consulting support that can promote hybrid start-up.

  • A structural analysis of cracked R.C. members under instantaneous or sustained loads and imposed displacements is presented. In the first part of the paper the problem of deriving feasible moment-curvature diagrams for a long term analysis of R.C. sections is approached in an exact way by using the Reduced Relaxation Function Method in state I uncracked and the method suggested by CEB in state II cracked. In both states the analysis of the main parameters governing the problem has shown that it is possible to describe the concrete creep behaviour in an approximate way by using the algebraic formulation connected to the Effective Modulus Method. In this way the calculations become quite simple and can be applied in design practice without introducing significant errors. Referring to continuous beams, the structural analysis is then approached in a general way, applying the Force Method and the Principle of Virtual Works. Finally, considering single members, the structural analysis is performed by means of a graphical procedure based on the application of feasible moment-rotation diagrams which allow to easily solve various structural problems and to point out the most interesting aspects of the long term behaviour of cracked R.C. members with rigid or elastically deformable redundant restraints.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between transaction justice and customer performance. In this study, data were gathered from questionnaires from customers and suppliers of manufacturing outsourcing service, and reliability, validity, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were conducted and the hypothesis was verified through the structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The results of this study are as follows: 1)Transaction justice has a significant positive effect on customer's business performance. Distribution and Interactional justice have a small effect on business performance, but Procedural justice has a significant positive effect. 2)Transaction justice has a positive effect on partnerships. 3)The partnership between the customer and the supplier has a positive effect on the customer's business performance. 4)Partnership has positive effect on customer's management performance through mediating justice. This study is based on the fact that justice acts as a independent variable in the transactional relationship between the customer and the supplier in the manufacturing outsourcing and this is the first case that empirically investigated the effect of the justice on the customer's management performance. In order to effectively cope with a rapidly changing business environment and effectively improve management performance, it is necessary to make efforts to improve justice, especially procedural justice, by utilizing outsourcing effectively in a global competition. In this respect, this study provides important implications for the both academically and practically.

  • Following a series of experiments on isolated low-rise RC shear walls with openings, a theoretical study on the backbone curve of a perforated shear wall shows that there are some important observations from experimental results that make clear a semi-empirical formula of the backbone curve of a perforated wall. Critical shear zones can be depicted from the configuration of shear walls with openings. Different factors, including the size and location of shear wall openings, the wall's height/width ratio, horizontal and vertical steel bar ratios, and location and amount of diagonal steel bars are involved in the derivation of the backbone curve. Bending and shear effects are also considered in the paper. In addition, a comparison of load and displacement for solid and perforated shear walls is discussed. Generally, the comparison between experimental curves and computed backbone curves is favorable.

  • Experimental tests have shown that glass exhibits very different strengths when tested under biaxial and uniaxial conditions. This paper presents a study on the effects of biaxial stresses on the notional ultimate strength of glass. The study involved applying the theory of elasticity and finite element analysis of the Griffith flaw in the micro scale. The strain intensity at the tip of the critical flaw is used as the main criterion for defining the limit state of fracture in glass. A simple and robust relationship between the maximum principal stress and the uniaxial stress to cause failure of the same glass specimen has been developed. The relationship has been used for evaluating the strength values of both new and old annealed glass panels. The characteristic strength values determined in accordance with the test results based on 5% of exceedance are compared with provisions in the ASTM standard.
