  • The use of information systems improves a company's service quality and provides efficient information management. The establishment of an information system has become an essential element. In designing and developing a large number of screens when building an information system, As the number of screens increases, so does the cost and time. In addition, modifications can increase the cost of maintenance and exceed the cost of development. In order to solve these problems, there have been studies to design the screen simply and easily, but there is a shortage in reducing the maintenance cost. In this paper, we have studied the layout algorithm for managing the attributes of the screen components as data structures based on the designed screen and arranging the components on the screen. And we compared the proposed method and the methods that have been studied in the related studies. Screen component layout methods can automatically deploy screen components to consistently develop a large number of screens and reduce cost and manpower by reducing the time it takes to deploy screens.

  • As a frontier, the designers of today' s interactive inteIt'ace search for new ways to use technology as a tool of communication design, In interactive projects, the interlace has an important role to play by making it easy for users to get the infolmation they need, Good design makes information visible and manageable, The design goal for an interface is to clarify the information and to communicate with users, Interface designers should consider functionality as well as beautification of screen layouts in their progressive work, In this paper, I take a stnlctured approach to the subject of intcIt'ace study by concentrating on 10 critical elements of screen layout design and case studies of outstanding interface design projects, The reason I focused on these 10 critical interface elements, was to create the design of function and to avoid the mistake of many designers, which was easy to ignore the functionality of interface design to achieve the beautification of screen layouts.

  • The level of competition has reached the limits in cellular phone market and the cellular phone manufacture companies started to focus their solution in user interface. Design issues with controllability led the development and renovation of such products to the use of the touch-screen phone. Depending upon the readability, technical advances, portability and controllability, user satisfaction of touch-screen phones could vary significantly. In this research, the controllability was dealt in regard to various grip postures, in order to improve menu layout which fits for using the thumbs of both hands and a thumbs of single hand. Regression models are found to the suggest the location of buttons on the screen by redesigning the menu layout, it is expected to improve both controllability and satisfaction of the user. This result can be applicable not only to mobile phone design, but also to the design of various hand-held devices using a touch screen.

  • Game interface can be described as a method for communicating the information of the game, and with increase in complexity of the game and the role of interface also becomes complex. MMORPG of the present has a greater capacity than the RPG of the past, and because there are many information game users need to know such as uniqueness of the character, maturation system, beginning users who encounter MMORPG for the first time have difficulties in grasping the concept and the information of the game. Therefore, an interface design that assists theusers in understanding and adjusting to the game is needed. For the purpose of this dissertation, a study was conducted for an MMORPG screen layout design that enables quick understanding of game information for the inexperienced younger game users.

  • This study analyzed the factors consisting moving poster design. In order to analyze the elements of moving poster, the researcher reorganized the elements of moving posters by referring to the previous studies on printed posters, motion graphics and works of moving posters. In this study, moving poster components were classified into 'communication', 'visual and form', and 'sound'. In 'communication' section, moving posters had narrative elements, including scenes, because of the time and movement added by the poster's original function. The 'visual and form' section was classified into graphics, layouts, movement, and time. Graphics refered to various graphic objects constituting the screen such as photo, illustration, typography, color, diagram. Layout means screen layout, size, and orientation of the screen. Movement section was divided into 'subject of movement' and 'attributes of movement'. Time was classified physical time such as playing time and subjective time felt by the audience. Also, the researcher categorized 'sound' as an additional section, since most moving posters did not include sound.

  • There are four parameters (i.e. overall density, local density, grouping, layout complexity) to consider in designing screen of a visual display terminal. Among these, only the optimum level of overall density is known to be about 25~30% by some studies. Therefore, the present experiment is conducted to define the optimum levels of the other parameters to achieve the user's best performance in visual search task. The results are as follows; (1) The function related to the levels of local density and user's search times is shown to be U -shaped. When the level of local density is about 40%, the search time is shorter than those of any other levels. (2) In the experiment of grouping, user's performance is best when the number of group is 5, and the size of group does not exceed visual angle $5^{\circ}$ (0,088rad). (3) The user performance is improved as the layout becomes less complex.

  • The measurement and evaluation of an audience's visual attention are crucial processes for the scientific production of various contents and services. It has been alleged that a vector exists between objects on a screen, but this has not been explored empirically. This study tested whether or not there are any positive correlations between screen vectors and viewers' eye movements. Participants were exposed to four groups of pictures representing an independent vector, continuing vector, converging vector, and diverging vector. The results showed that vectors on screens induced viewers' eye movements to the vector object by the directivity of the visual stimuli.

  • According to the advancement of display devices, the multi-screen contents display environment is growing to be accepted for the display exhibition area. The objectives of this research are to find communications technology and to design an editor interface of contents delivery system for the larger and adaptive multi-display workspaces. The proposed system can find existence of display devices and get information without any additional tools like marker, and can recognize device layout with only web-cam and image processing technology. The multi-display contents delivery system is composed of devices with three roles; display device, editor device, and fixed server. The editor device which has the role of main control uses UPnP technology to find existence and receive information of display devices. extract appointed color in captured picture using a tracking library to recognize the physical layout of display devices. After the device information and physical layout of display devices are connected, the content delivery system allows the display contents to be sent to the corresponding display devices through WebSocket technology. Also the experimental results show the possibility of our device connection and layout recognition techniques can be utilized for the large spaced and adaptive multi-display applications.

  • There are dozens of applications on the smartphone. The service application that manages the loading, deletion, and deployment of these applications is called a smartphone launcher, and various launchers are used. Some of the existing launchers provide a function to automatically place icons by analyzing user application usage patterns. In this paper, we present a method of automatically arranging icons so that the icons are balanced on the smartphone screen. The usefulness of our method is illustrated by some exaples. In this case, it is proved that in an m × n screen layout with a height of m and a width of n, if n is an odd number, the entire screen can always be arranged in a balanced manner regardless of the n value by mathematical induction method.
