In this study, an experiment was performed by adding Sb during NH3-selective catalytic reduction (NH3-SCR) while varying calcination temperatures from 400 to 700 ℃ to improve the low temperature denitrification efficiency of VWTi catalyst. As a result, VWSbTi(500) and VWSbTi(600) catalysts corresponding to Sb calcination temperatures of 500~600 ℃ showed the best denitrification performance at low temperatures below 300 ℃. BET, XRD, Raman, XPS, H2-TPR, and NH3-TPD analyses were performed In order to confirm physicochemical properties according to the calcination temperature. In the case of VWSbTi(500) and VWSbTi(600), an acid site increased with the generation of W=O species, and superb activity at low temperatures was exhibited due to the excellent redox characteristics and increase in electron density of tungsten. Furthermore, in the case of VWSbTi(700), as the crystalline V2O5 structure was formed, the denitrification efficiency decreased. Thus the optimum calcination temperature during Sb addition process was confirmed.
In this study, a simulation was used to derive an optimal process of heat treatment with carburizing, and compared the derived result with SCr420HB helical gear in heat treatment with carburized quenching process about a change of the quenching method. The optimal carburizing process time is derived by the simulation with the theoretical time. The process has been performed by oil quenching and salt quenching method. Through the comparison of the results from the simulation(Hardness, effective case depth hardened by carburizing treatment and deformation) and the actual process, analyzed the error value of each quenching. And it verified the applicability of the simulation.

A urea-SCR system suffers from some issues associated with the ammonia slip phenomenon, which mainly occurs because of the shortage of evaporation and thermolysis time, and this makes it difficult to achieve an uniform distribution of injected urea. A numerical study was therefore performed by changing such various parameters as installed injector angle and application and angle of mixer to enhance evaporation and the mixing of urea water solution with exhaust gases. As a result, various parameters were found to affect the evaporation and mixing characteristics between exhaust gas and urea water solution, and their optimization is required. Finally, useful guidelines were suggested to achieve the optimum design of a urea-SCR injection system for improving the DeNOx performance and reducing ammonia slip.

To improve the $NO_X$ conversion over a SCR (selective catalytic reduction) catalyst, the DOC (diesel oxidation catalyst) is usually placed upstream of the SCR catalyst to enhance the fast SCR reaction ($4NH_3+2NO+2NO_2{\rightarrow}4N_2+6H_2O$) using equimolar amounts of NO and $NO_2$. Here, a ratio of $NO_2/NO_X$ above 50% should be avoided, because the reaction with $NO_2$ only ($4NH_3+4NO+O_2{\rightarrow}4N_2+6H_2O$) is slower than the standard SCR reaction ($4NH_3+4NO+O_2{\rightarrow}4N_2+6H_2O$). In order to accurately predict the performance characteristics of SCR catalysts, it is therefore desired to develop a more simple and reliable mathematical and kinetic models on the oxidation kinetics of nitric oxide over a DOC. In the present work, the prediction accuracy and limit of three different chemical reaction kinetics models are presented to describe the chemicophysical characteristics and conversion performance of DOCs. Steady-state experiments with DOCs mounted on a light-duty four-cylinder 2.0-L turbocharged diesel engine then are performed, using an engine-dynamometer system to calibrate the kinetic parameters such as activation energies and preexponential factors of heterogeneous reactions. The reaction kinetics for NO oxidation over Pt-based catalysts is determined in conjunction with a transient one-dimensional (1D) heterogeneous plug flow reactor (PFR) model with diesel exhaust gas temperatures in the range of 115~$525^{\circ}C$ and space velocities in the range of $(0.4{\sim}6.5){\times}10^5\;h^{-1}$.
Steam reforming of methane in the high temperature solar chemical reactor bas advantage in its heating method. Using concentrated solar energy as a heating source of the reforming reaction can reduce the $CO_2$ emission by 20% compared to hydrocarbon fuel. In this paper, the simulation result of methane-steam reforming on a high temperature solar chemical reactor(SCR) using Fluent 6.3.26 is presented. The high temperature SCR is designed for the Inha Dish-1, a Dish type solar concentrator installed in Songdo city. Basic SCR performance factors are referred to the former researches of the same laboratory. Inside the SCR porous metal is used for a receiver/reactor. The porous metal is carved like a dome shape on the incident side to increase the heat transfer. Also, ring-disc set of baffle is inserted in the porous metal region to increase the path length. Numerical and physical models are also used from the former researches. Methane and steam is mixed with the same mole fraction and injected into the SCR. The simulation is performed for a various inlet mass flow rate of the methane-steam mixture gas. The result shows that the average reactor temperature and the conversion rate change appreciably by the inlet mass flow rate of 0.0005 kg/s.
Background: Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) can cause serious adverse effects. To reduce the occurrence of CIN related computed tomography (CT) in emergency patients, we assessed the respective roles of serum creatinine (SCr) alone and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) as an early predictor for CIN related CT. Methods: For patients with SCr <1.5 mg/dL who underwent CT in emergency department (ED) between September 2012 and October 2013, we assessed the prevalence of CIN and its adverse effects. The Modification of Diet in Renal Disease Study (MDRD) and Cockcroft-Gault (CG) formula was used for the calculation of eGFR. Practical calculation was performed by electronic medical record (EMR) system for MDRD and internet calculating service for CG. And we investigated the prevalence of CIN in eGFR $<60mL/min/1.73m^2$ before CT. Results: A total of 1,555 patients were enrolled. The prevalence of CIN after CT was 4.6% and it showed correlation with renal deterioration, increased in-hospital mortality, and prolonged hospitalization. Despite baseline SCr <1.5 mg/dL, among enrolled patients, 11.3% as MDRD equation and 29.5% as CG formula were $<60mL/min/1.73m^2$ and in this condition, the prevalence of CIN was significantly high (odds ratio was 2.87 [1.64-5.02] as MDRD equation and 2.03 [1.26-3.29] as CG formula). Conclusion: Just SCr <1.5mg/dL was not appropriate to recognize preexisting renal insufficiency, but eGFR using MDRD equation was useful in predicting the risk of CIN related CT in ED. Using EMR, calculation of eGFR can be easier and more convenient.

As a preceding process for developing design technology and establishing operation technology, the design procedure of the SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction) pilot plant that can handle $1,000Nm^{3}/hr$ of flue gas was reported in this paper. And we also considered several factors that might cause abnormality of the plant in the designing process. The plant was designed and fabricated to test the $DeNO_{x}$ performances in variable operating conditions in the range of $3,000{\sim}36,000hr^{-1}/hr$ in space velocities, $1.67{\sim}6\;m/s$ in linear velocities, $200{\sim}500^{\circ}C$ temperatures, $300{\sim}1,000Nm^{3}/hr$ flow rates, and $0{\sim}1.4:1\;NH_{3}/NO$ ratios. In order to maintain the flow uniformity, the guide vanes and flow straightener were designed and constructed in the plant. The SCR pilot plant can be operated by the automatic control system, which enable to obtain performance data in real time and to set up the operating technology. The catalyst reactor consists of 4 catalyst layers and surface area of each layer can be adjusted to be of small size. Arrangement of catalysts per layer is $3{\times}6$ with the catalyst dimensions of $150{\times}150{\times}500mm(L{\times}W{\times}H)$.

A package type of SCR (selective catalytic reduction) system that was proposed for removing the $NO_x$ found in flue gas from the small scale of air pollution sources was evaluated. The efficiency of the SCR system is determined by the proper utilization of catalytic media installed inside of the system, and the proper distribution of flow velocity and $NH_3$ concentration in the flue gas is a crucial factor for using the catalytic media. In this study, the distributions of $NH_3$ concentration were estimated under the various arrays and shapes of AIG at the given gas flow condition. The value of RMS (%) in $NH_3$ concentration is 95.3% at co-current flow (at $0^{\circ}$) injection but it is 90.1% at the condition of counter-current flow (at $120^{\circ}$) condition, which implies the counter-current injection is more favorable. By rearranging the $NH_3$ injection flow rates based on the distribution of velocity and $NH_3$ distribution in basic calculation, the value of RMS (%) in $NH_3$ concentration was reduced to 62.8%. The enhanced effect of $NH_3$ mixing by the combined effect of arrays and shapes are complied in the study.
This study was aimed at analyzing NOx conversion characteristics in the HC-SCR with biodiesel content changes of the secondary fuel injection (BD0, BD10, BD25). Test conditions for temperature were set to $290^{\circ}C$, $320^{\circ}C$ and $350^{\circ}C$ considering the upstream temperature of a HC-SCR, distillation of the secondary injected fuels and etc. The amount of fuel injection was adjusted with a fixed space velocity of 55,000(1/h). According to the test results of distillation, the T90 was the same level about $350^{\circ}C$ on all test fuels and the amount of evaporation was reduced at lower than $350^{\circ}C$ temperature condition with increasing biodiesel content. As biodiesel content which is mixed with the secondary injected fuel is increased, NOx reduction efficiency was determined to decrease. The difference of the Nox reduction ratio in a high temperature condition($320^{\circ}C$ and $350^{\circ}C$) than the low temperature($290^{\circ}C$) was more significant. These results are thought to be poor evaporation properties (distillation) and high molecular weight of the biodiesel.
In this paper, we propose an ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection circuit based on a new structure of SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) embedded with PMOS structure. The proposed ESD protection circuit has a built-in PMOS structure and has a latch-up immunity characteristic and an improved tolerance characteristic. To verify the characteristics of the proposed ESD protection circuit and to analyze its operating characteristics, we compared and analyzed the characteristics of the existing ESD protection circuit using TCAD simulation. Simulation results show that the proposed protection ESD protection circuit has superior latch-up immunity characteristics like the existing SCR-based ESD protection device HHVSCR (High Holding Voltage SCR). Also, according to the results of the HBM (Human Body Model) maximum temperature test, the proposed ESD protection circuit has a maximum temperature value of 355K, which is about 20K lower than the existing HHVSCR 373K. In addition, the proposed ESD protection circuit with improved electrical characteristics is designed by applying N-STACK technology. As a result of the simulation, the proposed ESD protection circuit has a holding voltage characteristic of 2.5V in a single structure, and the holding voltage increased to 2-STACK 4.2V, 3-STACK 6.3V, 4-STACK 9.1V.
