A Development of Electronic Motor Control Systems (전자식 모터제어 시스템 개발)

  • The previous MCC's have the demerits of high cost and much manhour for rework because they are impossible for the standardization of products and have many manual connections. The customers require the products which can operate in connection with SCADA system by digitalizing the functions of the current MCC's and are systematized with capability of remote control. To solve these disadvantages and requirements, we developed the Electronic Motor Control System according to starting type for applying to fields based on this. This system has the various functions such as protection, measurement, and communication. Using these functions, it can monitor motor status through communication with the upper system and define the circuit for lower connection cost according to starting type and shorter manufacture period by program. The development of this product results in establishment of competitive structure with domestic competition and perfect automatic monitoring through linkage with SCADA system. In addition, it provides the comparable dominancy of receiving on orders in switch gear and adaptability to change of MCC market in Japan and Europe.

  • This paper addresses a simulation for the Ethernet based data transmission between the CIC(Centralized Traffic Control System) and the SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. Fame error rate and throughput are calculated and compared for the two cases that the CTC/SCADA has an extra error control scheme besides the internal CRC32 of the Ethernet and that no extra error control has been done. Simulation program is constructed with the Matlab and the Matlab GUI and then converted into a stand-alone $c^{++}$ program to be used on any non-Matlab environments.

  • Distributed Network Protocol Version 3.0 (DNP3.0) is the communication protocol developed for the interoperability between a RTU and a central control station of SCADA in the power utility industry. In this paper DNP3.0 is implemented by using HDL with FPGA and C program on Hitachi H8/532 processor. DNP3.0 is implemented from physical layer to network layer in hardware level to reduce the computing load on a CPU. Finally, the ASIC for DNP3.0 has been manufactured from Hynix Semiconductor. The commercial feasibility of the hardware through the communication test with ASE2000 and DNP Master Simulator is performed. The developed protocol becomes one of IP, and can be used to implement SoC for the terminal device in SCADA systems. Also, the result can be applicable to various industrial controllers because it is implemented in HDL.

  • In this study, authors have proposed the autonomous state estimation which has been composed with IEC61850, GPS time synchronization and objective model design concept. The proposed method is able to supervise/correct measurement and communication error from SCADA. The major advantages of the proposed autonomous state estimation are that it is possible to evaluate integrity of data measured and transferred from SCADA, to reduce human intervention and to expense national-size applications such as EMS (Energy Management System), WAMS (Wide Area Monitoring System) or WAPS (Wide Area Protection System). This study addresses the issues related to the operation of the smart grid and proposes a new automated approach to achieve this goal. Through applying the proposed system to IEEE 14-bus test electric system, we prove the possibility of the proposed idea.

  • 네트웍 모델러(Network Modeler)는 EMS 시스템에서 전력 네크워크 토폴로지(Network Topology)를 입력하기 위한 도구이다. 네트워크 모델러는 토폴로지 정보를 입력하여 모델을 생성하고 변경하는 일과 네트워크 다이어그램을 생성하는 일 등을 처리한다. 모델을 생성하기 위해 계통요소를 나타내는 심벌을 마우스로 움직여 화면에 배치하고 각 요소의 파라미터를 설정하며 작성된 전력계통 구성이 올바른지 검사하는 기능도 수행한다. 네트워크 모델러는 주로 EMS에서 사용되었고 SCADA 시스템에서는 사용되지 않았으나, 최근 개발되고 있는 SCADA 시스템은 네트워크 모델러를 함께 포함하여 시스템의 기능을 향상시키고 있다. 그러나 기존의 Network Modeler가 EMS 시스템 개발 벤더에 따라 다른 데이터 구조를 가지고 있어서 데이터의 상호 운용성이 떨어지고, 입력방법에 있어서도 자동화 및 자료 연계가 미흡하여 관리에 많은 시간이 소요되는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 CIM 기반으로 정의된 데이터 모델을 사용자가 그래픽 다이어그램을 이용하여 쉽게 네트워크 토폴로지를 정의하도록 하고, 입력정보의 상호 운영성이 향상된 CIM 기반 Network Modeler를 설계한 내용을 설명하도록 한다.

  • 현재 한 번의 공격으로 많은 피해를 줄 수 있는 국가기반시설 위주의 제어시스템은 사이버 공격의 대상으로 가장 적합하다고 할 수 있다. 이에 대비해 제어시스템에서 주로 사용되는 DNP3는 한정적이고 반복된 트래픽을 주고받아 화이트리스트 기반 보안 기법이 사이버 공격으로부터 효과적으로 시스템을 보호할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 제어시스템에 알려져 있는 취약점에 대해서 소개하고, 화이트리스트 보안 기법을 적용하고 규칙을 정의하여 이상 징후를 탐지하였다.

Electromagnetic Environment of Transmission Line Based on Full Parameter Online Estimation

  • The parameters of transmission lines have an influence on the electromagnetic environment surrounding the line. This paper proposes a method based on phasor measurement unit (PMU) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) to achieve online estimation of transmission line full parameters, such as resistance, reactance and susceptance. The proposed full parameter estimation method is compared with the traditional method of estimating resistance independently based on SCADA system. Then, the electromagnetic environment is analyzed based on the different parameter estimation methods. The example results illustrate that online estimation of transmission line full parameters is more accurate in the analysis of electromagnetic environment, which further confirms its necessity and significance in engineering application.

  • In this paper, intelligent methods using digital protection relay in power SCADA system is developed in order to protect power systems by means of timely fault detection during operation and control at starting for induction motor which have various load environments and capacities in power systems. The digital protective relay was designed with DSP CPU(TMS320C31) to protect and measure more quickly and precisely. The test result on the basis of KEMC 1120 and IEC60255, show that the operation time error of the digital motor protection relay is improved within ${\pm}5%$. Also, we can control motors at starting according to starting types with simple method as programmable sequence editor. So we can improve the demerits of high cost and much manhour for rework.

  • Korea Water Resources Corporation (KOWACO) operates nine hydroelectric power stations on the Han River, Nakdong River, Geum River & Seomjin River Areas. KOWACO will take the lead in improving the efficiency of water resources supply in this parer, KOWACO Generation Intergrated Operating System(GIOS) project will improve the generating plant, hydraulic structures, switchgear, and station controls, alarms and services for unmanned remote controlled operation by modern intergraed SCADA system. Mordern SCADA is used to cover all computer systems designed to perform the following main functions: - to collect data from industrial plant devices. - to process and perform calculations on the collected. - to present collected and derived data on displays on. - to accept commands entered by human operators and act on them such as sending control commands to plant devices.

  • 본 논문에서는 지방국도에 시설되고 있는 교통 정보 제공시스템의 운전 상태를 감시하여 보수와 함께 유지관리를 수행하기 위한 종합 보수지원 시스템을 구현한다. 제안된 시스템은 국도상에 불규칙하게 설치되는 차량검지 시스템을 계층 집중형 감시시스템으로 디자인하여 실시간 감시와 함께 발생되는 운전 이력과 정보를 활용하여 유지보수 체계의 온라인화를 실혐하였다.
