  • The animation exercises its influence all over the our lives, specially it has originated the new film industry by combining and applying with movies and CF. The current of time being active of animation industry brought about many changes to all the field of making films, planning and consumption. This paper is written for to inspect animation techniques that has developed to expand and break the limit of the animation's processing and expanding the part of expression. Specially by analyzing which is made by PIXAR, inquired how the 12 Disney animation skills were applied. As a result, the 12 Disney animation skills were combined to express one natual movement. Even though is 3D animation made by not Disney but PIXAR and made in 2004, it was applied and followed the 2D animation's the processing skill in 1987. Consequently, we could know even if the production, the way to produce and the time change, the exact same way of the 1987's producing skill has applied for now.

  • The distinguishing feature of 3D animation is a reproduction of a reality. It is able to make the images that would be impossible with the conventional creative methods, and create the great fantasy. The development of creative image put great emphasis on importance of subject matter. Chris Landreth produces the unique 3D animation that has creative subject matter with great techniques. His work, Bingo(1998) describes social problem of mass-media and human being's agony in expression of theatre of the absurd. It is possible to have common interests in a matter with today's artists. The purpose of this study is to investigate how to express the theatre of the absurd in Chris Landreth's animation. A phase of social life is not only revealed with 3D features and his own techniques but communication capacity of 3D animation is also shown.

  • Consciously or not, producers have to make many aesthetic choices in creative process of video production. If there are general acceptable aesthetic principles to make right choice it would be guideline of aesthetic decision to somewhat reduce mistakes and errors in the process. This paper proposes a theoretical approach on establishing the media aesthetic principle of 3D animation camera working, which is the most suitable for animation production context. We describe the Herbert Zettl's applied media aesthetics related directly to the camera, which is about the two-Dimensional field focusing on aspect radio and forces within the screen, three-dimensional field focusing on depth, volume, and four-dimensional field focusing on time and motion. In order to have theoretical approach we made an analysis on comparing a camera working of movie with 3D computer animation's one, and reconstructed these basic principles to be suited for the 3D animation production. When applied media aesthetics of the traditional camera working are applied to the 3D animation production, it could be an efficient guideline for it. Futhermore, if we develop the research for the relationship with various visual languages with the basis of these principles, the theory of creative picture composition method for the 3D animation production will be logically and systematically established.

  • In 1970s, Computer Graphics of still and geometry changed computer Animation of image, and Computer Animation has diversely been used in movie, TV, fashion, sports, education, basic science, medical science, etc. by the development of LSI technology and the large size of computer in 1980s. Since Computer Animation was first used by movie of Futureworld in 1973, we easily experienced the essence of Computer Animation made of the Little Mermaid. Beauty and the Beast, the Lion King, Aladdin, etc. in Disney Animation and Terminator. Jurassic Park, the Mask, etc. in movie. And in other countries that have got the diversely special effect and knowhow in technology are effectively using the Computer Animation now. What situation we Korea are in now, if we compare the Computer Animation with that of other country using the progressive movie\ulcorner Although we first producted the movie title of Ticket, 10years ago, we have rarely been used it in movie, yet. Therefore, we know that it is very important for us to examine the historical and technical side for the purpose of overcoming the technological gap.

  • We propose an emotional facial avatar that portrays the user's facial expressions with an emotional emphasis, while achieving visual and behavioral realism. This is achieved by unifying automatic analysis of facial expressions and animation of realistic 3D faces with details such as facial hair and hairstyles. To augment facial appearance according to the user's emotions, we use emotional templates representing typical emotions in an artistic way, which can be easily combined with the skin texture of the 3D face at runtime. Hence, our interface gives the user vision-based control over facial animation of the emotional avatar, easily changing its moods.

  • The study analyzes how to create stereoscopic image in 3-dimension animation 'Yggdrasil', produced in Autodesk Maya(3D animation software), using Anaglyph method that is the oldest in 3-dimension stereoscopic video production. The anaglyph method help to produce stereoscopic images easily and to give effective 3D effect encoding each eye's image using filters of different colors. In addition, space direction applied visual perception theory expresses necessary distance, depth and speed effectively in 'Yggdrasil'

  • Recently, it was possible to represent the realistic clothes in the cloth simulation along with growth of 3D computer animation such as visual contents. In addition, because of the development of H/W(Hardware) and S/W(Software), the accessibility and participation are growing. However, in order to make the image of high quality of 3D animation, the optimized production pipeline was need. In this paper, in order to overcome the limitation of exiting 3D computer animation production pipeline, we propose the optimized production pipeline of the cloth simulation. Our production pipeline makes the optimization arrangement in consideration of the mobility in order to supplement the related structure limit toward each part of the existing pipeline. Moreover, by utilizing the dummy cloth the association nature with the animation part is solved and a performance is improved. The proposal pipeline actually introduced to the animation production. And then we can improve the performance production time and production manpower consumption. Consequently, our pipeline is guaranteed an optimized work by emphasizing a connection in the direct image production.

  • Today, the 3D character animation is easily accessible from most of the film such as an actuality film, animation, games, or advertising. However, such a smooth movement of characters is a result obtained by Key Frame operation which skilled animators worked with data obtained through expensive equipment such Motion Capture for a long time. Therefore, to modify or to give other effects is not easy. In some cases, character's action made according to the personal feeling could be different with universal expectations of audiences, because it might be not appropriate to make regulations generalized between character's action by animater's design and emotional reaction of audience. In this research, it is aimed to show the way which is easily to blend and modify 2-3 Biped animation data by offering the operation tools of 3-D rotation using 3D Studio MAX Script. By this tool E.A.M., we can have various researches for quantities relation of between walking and emotional reaction.

  • Since the first episode of (1995) by Pixar, a world leading animation company, 3D animation has been focused on realistic motion and rendering techniques. However, in 2018, 3D animation was released, with unique backgrounds created through illustration techniques and dynamic movements of characters that seemed to be produced by hand rather than computers. It shows a lot of difference from other 3D animations. In this study, I analyzed 's new production techniques and expressions into two categories, first, the use of old comics techniques, and second, other factors that made the animation stand out. in 3D animation market focused on realistic motion and rendering techniques can have positive implications in terms of expanding animation diversity. This study is expected to be used as academic or research data for researchers studying new production techniques in related fields.

  • In this paper we describe the method of controlling the animation of 3D characters according to ISO/IEC 19774 (H-Anim) specification, which has been released by Wed3D Consortium and ISO/IEC SC24 WG6. The animation structure of the H-Anim character can be defined and modified in our H-Anim editor program. Our H-Anim animator generates the character's motion automatically according to the input of motion parameters at the character's joints interactively. This paper is focused on the development of a motion generation tool for human-like characters defined by H-Anim structures.
