무치악자의 하악전방운동시 관절융기와 과두운동로에 관한 컴퓨터 분석 (A CONFUTER ANALYSIS ON THE ARTICULAR EMINENCE AND THE CONDYLAR PATH OF THE EDENTULUS PATIENT IN MANDIBULAR PROTRUSIVE MOVEMENT)

  • The objective of this study was to compare the condylar path and the anterior angle of articular fossa and to analyze the pattern of condylar path in edentulus patients. Nineteen male and female edentulous patients with normal masticatory system ranging in age 42 to 78, without present symptoms and any history of TMJ disturbance were selected for this study. On the computer analysis on the transcranial radiographs of the TMJ, the angle of slope of articular eminance and condylar path to the Frankfort Horizontal Plane and the height of glenoid fossa was measured respectively, and stuied their interrelationship comparatively. Obtained results were asfollows. 1. The angle of the slope of articular eminence averaged 37.28 degree. and there was no significant difference between the right and left side. 2. The condylar path angle averaged 29.05 degree and there was no significant difference between the right and left side. 3. The height of the glenoid fossa averaged 8.11 mm and there was no significant difference between the right and left side. 4. The sequence of the frequence of condylar movement patterns were concavex curve(39.5% ), 'S' shape curve(34.2%), reverse 'S' shape(15.8%) and convex curve(10.5%). 5. The horizontal distance of the point of the changed curve of the condylar path averaged 2.91 mm. 6. The height of glenoid fossa was highly correlated to the slope of articular eminence and relatively highly correlated to tile condylar path and the condylar path was closely correlated to the slop of articular eminence.

  • End-user electric power consumption trends shows various load curves dependant on industry, contract, season, day and time. Analysis of end-user electric power consumption trends has a key role to efficiently meet electricity demand. There are several factors of change in electricity demand such as the change of weather, international conflict, and industrial trends during summer. This paper has analyzed the analysis the end-user electric power consumption trends using the load curve during international conflict. We observed that international conflict decreased electric demand by $5.4\%$. This increase is not significant, and therefore we conclude that the international conflict has not greatly affected Korea's electricity demands. This paper provides useful information so as to mon: efficiently perform demand side management.

얼굴 특징 변화에 따른 휴먼 감성 인식 (Human Emotion Recognition based on Variance of Facial Features)

  • Understanding of human emotion has a high importance in interaction between human and machine communications systems. The most expressive and valuable way to extract and recognize the human's emotion is by facial expression analysis. This paper presents and implements an automatic extraction and recognition scheme of facial expression and emotion through still image. This method has three main steps to recognize the facial emotion: (1) Detection of facial areas with skin-color method and feature maps, (2) Creation of the Bezier curve on eyemap and mouthmap, and (3) Classification and distinguish the emotion of characteristic with Hausdorff distance. To estimate the performance of the implemented system, we evaluate a success-ratio with emotional face image database, which is commonly used in the field of facial analysis. The experimental result shows average 76.1% of success to classify and distinguish the facial expression and emotion.

2·3차원 모형을 이용한 자연하도 만곡부에서의 흐름특성 연구 (Study on the Flow Characteristics at Natural Curved Channel by 2D and 3D Models)

  • In this study, the flow characteristic analysis at the curved-channel of the actual channel section is compared and reviewed using the 2D RMA-2 model and the 3D FLOW-3D model. the curve section with curve rate 1.044 in the research section is analyzed applying the frequency of he project flood of 100 years. According to the result, the issue for the application of the FLOW-3D Model's three-dimensional numeric analysis result to the actual river is found to be reviewed with caution. Also, application of the 3D model to the wide basin's flood characteristic is determined to be somewhat risky. But, the applicability to the hydraulic property analysis of a partial channel section and the impact analysis and forecast of hydraulic structure is presumed to be high. In addition, if the parameters to reflect the vegetation of basin and the actual channel, more accurate topological measurement data and the topological data with high closeness to the current status are provided, the result with higher reliability is considered to be drawn.

척주측만증 환자의 만곡과 후쿠다 검사의 상관성에 관한 연구 (The Study of Correlationship of the Fukuda Stepping Test to Determine Type of Idiopathic Scoliosis Curve)

  • PURPOSE: The Fukuda test can be used at home and in school to diagnose scoliosis at an early stage and prevent serious curvature of the spine. This study aimed to use the Fukuda test to detect scoliosis. An additional aim was to invoke the national interest in imbalanced postures and habits, which result in scoliosis, by providing data obtained in periodic assessments. METHODS: The study consisted of 35 idiopathic scoliosis patients (22 in right lumbar spinal region and 13 in the left lumbar spinal region). The distance of displacement and angle of displacement were measured following the Fukuda test. A correlation analysis was then used to examine the distance of displacement and angles of displacement and rotation with regard to the direction of the curve in scoliosis. RESULTS: There was a significant negative correlation (p<0.00) between the direction of the curve in scoliosis and the angle of displacement, but there was no correlation between the cobb's angle and distance of displacement or between the cobb's angle and angle of rotation. CONCLUSION: The Fukuda test did not capture changes in spinal curvature such as the cobb's angle, or subsequent changes in the muscles. Thus, the Fukuda test is not suited to examining the direction or status of the thoracic curve in scoliosis patients. Simple methods to objectively measure scoliosis need to be developed.

생산자료를 이용한 캐나다 CBM 원시부존량 평가 연구 (A Study on Estimation of Initial Gas in Place for Coalbed Methane Field Using Production Data at Canada)

  • Horseshoe Canyon 석탄층 메탄가스 광구 4개 생산정의 생산이력과 압력 시험자료를 바탕으로 물질평형법과 감퇴곡선법을 이용하여 원시부존량을 예측하는 연구를 수행하였다. 물질평형법은 전통가스 물질평형법과 Jensen and Smith법을 이용하였고, 감퇴곡선법은 Arps 경험식과 Khaled 법을 이용하였다. 그 결과, 전통가스 물질평형법과 Jensen and Smith법을 이용한 경우의 차이는 12% 이내로 부존량 예측에 큰 차이는 없고, 감퇴곡선법을 적용한 경우, 감퇴지수가 1이상, 최대 3.5에 이르러, Arps 방정식을 이용하면 부존량이 무한대로 산출되므로 Khaled 법을 적용하는 것이 적절하였다. 전통가스 물질평형방정식을 이용한 부존량 예측 결과와 Khaled 법을 이용한 예측 결과의 차이는 8.67% ~ 31.04% 였고, Jensen and Smith 방정식과 Khaled 법을 이용한 부존량 예측 결과의 차이는 13.67% ~ 26.49%로 후자의 경우가 차이가 더 적었다.

차체 틸팅에 따를 전복안전도 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Overturning Safefy for a Tilting Train by Carbody Tilting)

  • In this study, overturning safety for a tilting train has been evaluated. In the tilting train, the overturning safety is one of the most important factors because the carbody inclines inward a curve during curve negotiation. Dynamic analysis considering unbalanced lateral acceleration and carbody tilting has been carried out and the overturning safety for the tilting train has been evaluated according to height of CG of carbody. From these studies, the overturning safety for the tilting train under unbalanced lateral acceleration of $2m/s^2$ was superior to the conventional one at the same running speed.

종곡선/평면곡선 경합 시 승차감을 고려한 선형최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimization of the Alignment Considering the Ride Comfort in the Case of the Superimposition of Vertical and Horizontal Curves)

  • Superimposition of horizontal and vertical curves may hamper the ride comfort and the running stability of train and largely affect the maintenance cost. However, in many cases, it's not easy to make a track plan because of the fixed points (bridge, tunnel, turnout, catenary system, etc.) to be avoided due to the geographic conditions or to be passed for utilization of existing structures. In this study, when the horizontal and vertical curves are superimposed, in order to optimize the horizontal curve in aspect of the ride comfort, the object function $P_{CT}$ was developed and verified by vehicle dynamic analysis. Also, the solution algorithm for simplified evaluation method was presented.
