Systematic study of Korean Asparagus L. based on morphology and nuclear ITS sequences (외부형태와 ITS 염기서열에 기초한 한국산 비짜루속 식물의 분류학적 고찰)

  • Morphological and geographical examinations as well as phylogenetic analyses using ITS sequences were performed for Asparagus L. in Korea. A total of five species of Asparagus were confirmed to be distributed in South Korea. The shape of cladophylls, length of pedicels, and shape of perianth were considered to be important characteristics for the identification of Koran Asparagus species. A monophyly of each species was evident in the ITS phylogenetic trees in which multiple accessions (5 to 24, depending on species) represented each of the five Korean species. A. rigidulus Nakai, once considered conspecific to A. schoberioides Kunth, formed a distinct lineage in the ITS trees. Pedicels of A. rigidulus, which is distributed mainly in coastal areas, were about two times longer than those of A. schoberioides occurring in inland areas, suggesting that they should be treated as distinct taxa.

  • The taxonomic revision of the family Uranoscopidae from Korea was made on the basis of the speciemens collected in the coasts of the Korea from 1986 to 1994. The key to the species and genera for classification of the famiiy Uranoscopidae was provided with synonym and their distributions. The stagazer fishes from Korea are composed of 6 species in 3 genera: Uranoscopus Japonicus, U. bicinctus, U. chinensis, U. tosae, Gnathagnus eolngatus and Ichthyscopus lebeck sannio. The Korean stagazer fishes were widely distributed in the West and South Sea of Korea, but only Ichthyscopus lebeck sannio distributed in the around sea of Cheju Island.

Genetic and Morphological Variation of the Genus Liobagrus in Korea (한국산 퉁가리속 어류의 유전 및 형태적 변이에 관한 연구)

  • Genetic and morphological variation among seven populations of two species of the genus Liobagrus that had been collected from six separate river systems in Korea were analyzed by means of starch electrophoreiss and discriminant function analysis . The degree of genic variation among three population of L.andersoni was P=21.3%, H=0.068 , and that of four population of L.mediadiposalis was P=16.3%, H=0.560. Rogers' gentic similarity coefficient (S) of L.andersoni and L.mediadiposalis were S=0.592 , S=0.675 respectively. In morphometric characters of L. andersoni, the population from Kum River was distinctly different from other conspecific populations.

  • The various shape of calcium carbonate were prepared. For the preparation of the PP/$CaCO_3$ composite, these synthetic calcium carbonate(cubic, spheric and neddle type) and PP were mixed on a two roll mill and the mixture were pressed into plate. The effect of particle shape in the prepared composite on the crystallization temperature, heat of fusion, size of spherulite and mechanical properities were investigated. It was found that the former four were strongly influenced by that. When, especially, vaterite was mixed with PP, the size of spherulite was smaller and the degree of crystallinity was higher than others. Therefore, the tensile strength and Young's modulus were higher.

  • In this study, 37 subjects with normal facial shape and normal occlusion are classified and reference value for such classification was investigated. Difference in position of maxillary incisor was studied according to the cl assification. Moreover, by investigating correlation between factors affecting forehead morphology and positio n of maxillary incisor, following results have been obtained. 1. Morphology of forehead can be classified as angular type, round type, straight type, and concave type. 2. There were no specific reference value for evaluation of forehead morphology but possibilities of evaluating forehead morphology using S value and forehead length (Tri-Gla) still remain. 3. There were no correlation between forehead morphology and position of maxillary incisor. 4. Forehead inclination and Andrew analysis show statistically significant negative correlation. That is, as forehead inclination increases, maxillary incisor is positioned posteriorly and this relationship can be shown as following equation, Andrew analysis = -0.39*Forehead inclination.

  • 이 글의 목적은 독일어 신체어휘 관련 관용구들 가운데 ${\lceil}$Duden Band 11${\rfloor}$에 수록된 108개의 $\lceil$$\rfloor$ 관련 관용구를 대상으로 이들의 형태$\cdot$통사구조를 파악하고, 그들을 모형화하는 것이다. 우리는 연구 대상을 문장에서 결합가 보유어로서 술어의 기능을 하는 관용구에 한정했다. 우리는 $\lceil$$\rfloor$ 관련 관용구를 보충어의 수와 형태에 따라 크게 세 가지 부류, 즉 1가, 2가, 3가의 관용구로 구분하였다 보충어의 형태는 명사구(Sn, Sd, Sa)와 전치사구(pS)에 한정했으며 문장형태의 보충어, 예를 들어 부문장(NS)과 부정사문(Inf) 형태는 고려하지 않았다. 이들이 보충어로 간주될 수 있는지의 여부는 아직 더 많은 연구를 필요로 하기 때문에 다음 과제로 남겨두었다. 일차적으로 외적 결합가($\"{a}u{\beta}ere\;Valenz)$에 따라, 이차적으로는 내적 결합가(innere Valenz)에 따라 108개의 $\lceil$$\rfloor$ 관련 관용구를 분석한 결과 우리는 다음과 같은 형태$\cdot$통사적 문형을 얻을 수 있었다. $\cdot$ 1가 동사 관용구: 1) PL-Sn : (1) PL[VPL - Sa] - Sn (2) PL(VPL - pS) - Sn (3) PL[VPL - Sa - pS] - Sn (4) PL[VPL - pS - pS] - Sn Sondergruppen: PL[VPL - Sa - Inf] - Sn PL[VPL - pS - Inf] - Sn 2) PL - Sd: (1) PL[VPL - Sn] - Sd (2) PL[VPL - Sn(es) - pS] - Sd $\cdot$ 2가 동사 관용구1) PL - Sn - Sd: (1) PL[VPL - Sa] - Sn - Sd (2) PL[VPL - pS] - Sn - Sd (3) PL[VPL - Sa - pS) - Sn - Sd 2) PL - Sn - pS: (1) PL[VPL - Sa] - Sn - pS (2) PL[VPL - pS] - Sn - pS (3) PL(VPL - Sa - pS) - Sn - pS 3) PL[VPL - pS) - Sn -Sa $\cdot$ 3가 동사 관용구: (1) PL[VPL - pS] - Sn - Sd - Sa (2) PL[VPL - pS] - Sn - Sa - pS (3) PL[VPL - Sa] - Sn - Sd - pS 이러한 분류가 보여주듯이, 독일어에는 1가, 2가, 3가의 관용구가 있으며, 구조 외적으로 동일한 통사적 결합가를 갖는다 하더라도 구조 내적 성분구조가 다르다는 것을 알 수 있다. 우리는 이 글이 외국어로서의 독일어를 배우는 이들에게 독일어의 관용구를 보다 올바르게 이해할 수 있는 방법론적인 토대를 제공함은 물론, (관용어) 사전에서 외국인 학습자를 고려하여 관용구를 알기 쉽게 기술하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있기를 바란다.

Statistical Evaluation of Sigmoidal and First-Order Kinetic Equations for Simulating Methane Production from Solid Wastes (폐기물로부터 메탄발생량 예측을 위한 Sigmoidal 식과 1차 반응식의 통계학적 평가)

  • The objective of this research was to evaluate the suitability of sigmoidal and firstorder kinetic equations for simulating the methane production from solid wastes. The sigmoidal kinetic equations used were modified Gompertz and Logistic equations. Statistical criteria used to evaluate equation performance were analysis of goodness-of-fit (Residual sum of squares, Root mean squared error and Akaike's Information Criterion). Akaike's Information Criterion (AIC) was employed to compare goodness-of-fit of equations with same and different numbers of parameters. RSS and RMSE were decreased for first-order kinetic equation with lag-phase time, compared to the first-order kinetic equation without lag-phase time. However, first-order kinetic equations had relatively higher AIC than the sigmoidal kinetic equations. It seemed that the sigmoidal kinetic equations had better goodness-of-fit than the first-order kinetic equations in order to simulate the methane production.

Brick Path Recognition Using Image Shape Pattern and Texture Feature (영상의 형태 패턴과 텍스처 특징을 이용한 보도블록의 인식방법)

  • Raised or plain block is widely used for the pedestrian's safe passage. The insincere construction, insufficient maintenance and obstacle overlaid on the pavement cause pedestrian's accidents. This paper proposes a method to detect brick path by analyzing the shape pattern and texture feature of brick located in visible distance for a safe passage. A brick appears to a regular type because of its specific shape which repeats with its sized gap and its type varies according to the surrounding environment or use. This paper shows a method which extracts the shape pattern by analyzing single surface polygon and its frequency appearing in road area. The shape pattern is used to detect similar shape regions. Some regions are not detected because extraneous substances or chopped bricks distort the original shape. This problem can be solved by analyzing the texture feature vector. The analyzed vector of the previously detected regions yields the Gaussian distribution. This value in each undetected region is computed and checked whether it's satisfied with Gaussian distribution or not. The satisfied region is detected as the brick path. The experiment was performed with the various type's bricks to recognize so that the results showed as accurate as 95.9% in average.

A Cross-Diamond-Triangle Search Algorithm for Fast Block-Matching Motion Estimation (고속 블록 정합 움직임 측정을 위한 십자-다이아몬드-삼각 탐색 알고리즘)

  • In this Paper, we propose a new motion search algorithm called CDTS (Cross-Diamond-Triangle Search algorithm) that uses optimal search pattern according to the position of a search area to improve the performance of CDS(Cross-Diamond Search algorithm) as well as CDHSs(Cross-Diamond-Hexagonal Searches algorithms). We analyze motion distributions in various test video sequences to apply optimal search pattern according to a position of search area. Based on the result of this analysis, we propose a new triangle-shaped search pattern whose structure is asymmetric while previous search patterns are generally symmetric in conventional algorithms. In CDTS, we apply cross- and diamond-shaped search patterns to central search areas, and triangle- and diamond-shaped patterns to the other areas. Applying CDTS to test video sequences, the proposed scheme can reduce search points more than CDS and CDHSs by 16.22$\%$ and 3.09$\%$, respectively, without any visual quality degradation.

Image Translation using Pseudo-Morphological Operator (의사 형태학적 연산을 사용한 이미지 변환)

  • We attempt to combines concepts of Morphological Operator(MO) and Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN) to improve image-to-image translation. To do this, we propose an operation that approximates morphological operations. Also we propose S-Convolution, an operation that extends the operation to use multiple filters like CNN. The experiment result shows that it can learn MO with big filter using multiple S-convolution layer of small filter. To validate effectiveness of the proposed layer in image-to-image translation we experiment with GAN with S-convolution applied. The result showed that GAN with S-convolution can achieve distinct result from that of GAN with CNN.
