A Study on the Color Extendability in Mark Rothko's Color-Field Abstract (마크 로드코의 색면추상에 표현된 색의 확장성 연구)

  • This study is aimed at understanding the color extendibility of color-field abstract through Mark Rothko's paintings. Color extendibility is a structure applied by Mark Rothko. He simplifies it and by pursuing autonomy and immediacy of the color itself, including surface color and the front of color-field, Rothko creates value through motions in his square paintings of non-fixed shapes. Chapter 2 revisits the meaning of color in abstract expressionism and explains the principle of color-field by applying the concept of ergon and parergon. In chapter 3, the principle, processes, methods, techniques of expression were studied as a basis to understand color extendibility and color-field abstract. In chapter 4, the works of Mark Rothko were analyzed based on his multiform paintings(1946-1948), number and untitled(1949-1957), and black paintings(1958-1970) in order to identify, in the final chapter, the features of color extendibility in Rothko's works. According to the above research, the thesis successfully concludes that the artist's reconstruction of reality and readjustment of transcendent reality are reproduced via color extendibility, the movement of color-field.

  • XML is rapidly spreading as a standard for data representation and exchange, and XML documents are adopted in various applications. According to this trend, researches in database has also focused on efficient storage and retrieval of XML documents. Recently, major (object) relational DBMS vendors support XML functionality, and several native XML DBMSs have been developed in academic or industry side. In addition, various benchmarks have been proposed so as to evaluate these na database performance. In this paper, we evaluate the XBench benchmark using a commercial object-relational DBMS, analyze its performance, and investigate the future improvements of object-relational DBMSs for XML support.

Performance Evaluation of Microservers to drive for Cloud Computing Applications (클라우드 컴퓨팅 응용 구동을 위한 마이크로서버 성능평가)

  • In order to utilize KOSMOS, the performance evaluation results are presented in this paper with CloudSuite, an application service-based benchmark program in the cloud computing area. CloudSuite offers several distinct applications as cloud services in two parts: offline applications and online applications on containers. In comparison with other microservers which have similar hardware specifications of KOSMOS, it was observed that KOSMOS was superior in all CloudSuite benchmark applications. KOSMOS also showed higher performance than Intel Xeon CPU-based servers in an offline application. KOSMOS reduced completion time during executing Graph Analytics by 30.3% and 72.3% compared to two Intel Xeon CPU-based servers in an experimental configuration of multiple nodes in KOSMOS.

  • 디지털 워터 마킹은 일반적으로 지적 재산권의 보호를 위해서 컨텐츠 소유자가 자신의 컨텐츠에 저작권 정보를 나타내는 워터마크를 삽입하여 제 3자가 허가 없이 디지털 컨텐츠의 사용을 할 경우 불법적인 사용을 막아내는 데 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 워터마킹 기법의 새로운 적용 예로써 인터넷 또는 무선 환경을 통한 멀티미디어 데이터 전송 시 수신된 데이터의 품질을 사용자 측면에서 측정 할 수 있는 방안, 즉 디지털 워터마킹 기법의 새로운 적용 예에 대하여 고찰하였다. 제안하는 방법은 네트워크 상에서 발생하는 패킷 손실, 지연 등의 통계적 해석으로 수신 된 멀티미디어 데이터의 품질을 평가하는 척도로 사용하는 기존의 방법과는 달리 사용자 측면에서 눈으로 보이는 데이터의 일그러짐 정도나, 음질의 왜곡을 정량적인 측정치로 보여 줄 수 있음으로써, 오디오 데이터의 QoS(Quality of Service)를 보장하기 위한 수단이나 수신품질에 따른 차별화 된 과금 결정 등에 활용할 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 데이터의 품질 측정을 위한 블라인드 워터마킹 기법을 적용하고 다양한 비트 에러율 (Bit Error Rate, BER)을 갖는 BSC(Binary Symmetric Channel)에 적용시켜 봄으로써 멀티미디어 데이터에 삽입된 워터마크 신호의 검출정도와 수신된 미디어 신호의 PSNR비가 선형적인 분포를 가지게 됨을 확인 할 수 있었다.

An Image Watermarking Scheme by Image Fusion in the Frequency Domain (주파수 영역에서 영상융합에 의한 영상 워터마킹 기법)

  • This paper presents a robust watermarking approach that the frequency coefficients of the binary logo image are inserted in the DC and each frequency area of the host image for copyright protection of image data. We use the 1 level discrete wavelet transform(DWT) coefficients of 64*64 binary logo image as watermark because the presentation of a recognizable mark is much more convincing than numerical values and allows the opportunity to exploit the human visual system's ability to recognize a pattern. The proposed method makes use of 1-level DWT of the logo image, the DWT coefficients of the logo image are inserted by human visual system(HVS) and region of interest(ROI) in the frequency domain of the host image. Thereby, the detected logo image confirms copyright. Because small size watermark is inserted by HVS and ROI, the results confirm the superiority of the Proposed method on invisibility and robustness.

Derivation of benchmark dose lower limit of lead for ADHD based on a longitudinal cohort data set (동집단 자료의 주의력 결핍 과잉행동 장애를 종점으로 한 납의 벤치마크 용량 하한 도출)

  • The primary purpose of this paper is to derive a benchmark dose lower limit (BMDL) of lead for the attention deficit/hyperactive disorder (ADHD) based on a longitudinal cohort data set which is referred to as CHEER data set. The CHEER data were recently recruited from the Ministry of Environment of S. Korea to investigate the effect of environment on children's health We first confirm the correlation of ADHD with the blood lead level using a linear mixed effect model. We report from the longitudinal characteristic of CHEER data that ADHD scores tend to have "regression to the mean". A dose-response curve of blood lead level with ADHD being the end point is derived and from this dose-response curve a few BMDLs are derived based on corresponding assumptions on the benchmark region.

A study on costume designs using Macramé knot - A focused on four major fashion collections between 2011 S/S and 2020 F/W - (마크라메 매듭을 활용한 의상디자인 연구 - 2011년 S/S ~ 2020년 F/W 4대 패션 컬렉션을 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to analyze the macramé technique used in costume design based on the cases from 2011 to 2020, when the macramé technique became popular. The research data are the results of analyzing the materials, clothing items, and structural combination of macramé knots by season, year, and collection from 2011 S/S to 2020 F/W, focusing on the four major fashion collections New York, Paris, London, and Milan. Macramé appeared often in the S/S season, and in the 2019 and 2020 S/S seasons, macramé was identified as a keyword for fashion trends based on its frequent usage. Overhand knots were used the most for the types of macramé knots used in costumes, and overhand knots were also used the most in the S/S season and in the New York, Paris, and Milan collections. Rope was the most frequently used material for macramé knots, and it was confirmed that it appeared frequently in 2011 and 2019, and ropes were also used often in the London, Milan, and Paris collections. One-piece appeared the most in the S/S season and F/W season as costume items. In addition, the costumes used as layers in the S/S season appeared most often, and in 2019 and 2020, the layered combination appeared most frequently in London and New York collections. It is judged that macramé appears repeatedly in the S/S season depending on the type of knot and is used as a layered look, making it a decorative element rather than a practical element. This study is expected to help develop modern fashion design by drawing attention to the value of the macramé technique expressed as handcrafted work.

Performance Benchmark of Filesystem for Solid State Drive (SSD를 위한 파일시스템의 벤치마크)

  • 파일시스템과 I/O 워크로드에 따라 Solid State Drive (SSD)의 성능은 변하는 것이 일반적인 사실이지만 파일시스템과 SSD과의 상관 관계는 명확히 알려지지 않았다. 파일시스템과 SSD 간의 상관관계 그리고 성능을 이해하기 위해 SSD과 4개의 파일 시스템을 IOzone 벤치마크에서 다양한 I/O 크기와 direct I/O 모드에서 실험을 하였다. Nilfs2를 제외한 모든 파일 시스템의 성능이 일정하지 않은 것으로 보이고 2MB 이상의 파일 크기에서는 100MB/s 정도의 성능을 보이고 있다. 반면 Nilfs2의 경우는 레코드 크기, I/O 단위가 작을 경우 성능 역시 낮고 I/O의 크기가 커질 경우 그 성능이 같이 증가하고 있는 것을 볼 수가 있다.

  • 한국과학기술정보연구원에서 운영 중인 슈퍼컴퓨터 4호기인 Tachyon 2차 시스템은 이론최고성능 300TFlops인 SUN Blade 6275 시스템을 기반으로 구성되어있다. 로그인 노드 4대와 컴퓨팅 노드 3200대로 구성되어 있으며 컴퓨팅 노드 중에 24대는 디버깅 노드로 사용되고 있다. 3200대의 컴퓨팅 노드가 동일한 하드웨어로 구성이 되어 있으므로 Tachyon 2차 시스템의 전체 계산 성능을 결정하는 가장 중요한 요소가 단일 컴퓨팅 노드의 성능이 되겠다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 벤치마크 기법을 통해 단일 노드의 성능을 측정하여 분석하였다.

A Study of Danish furniture Design Education based on characteristics of curriculums in Danish institutions (교과과정의 특징에 기초한 덴마크의 가구 디자인 교육에 관한 연구)

  • When initially comparing Denmark with Korea, it would appear that the two have little in common. However, upon further investigation, one would find they are similar in that they both small Countries located outside of central continents without an abundance of natural resources. Each has also shown displayed its own successful design to the world. The unique qualities of Danish designs have both, in turn, influenced other Countries' designs, thus having a ripple effect worldwide in the design area. One may concluded that the schools educating these designers have played a role in Danish unique design success. This thesis investigates and details curriculums and goals of three furniture design departments of Universities in Denmark and, is useful for furniture department's in Korean schools who wish to have a better understanding of how Danish schools have achieved their success to date.
