콤바인 예취장치의 절단특성에 관한 연구( I ) -절단현상 및 표준형 칼날의 절단특성- (Cutting-Pattern and Cutting Characteristics of the Reciprocating Cutter-bar of Combine Harvester(I) -Cutting Mechanism and Cutting Characteristics of the Standard Type Reciprocating Knife-)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the cutting mechanism of the reciprocating knife of combine harvester. The cutting operation of reciprocating knife was demonstrated through the cutting pattern diagram which was drawn by computer graphics. Various kinds and dimensions of standard-type reciprocating knives were analyzed by the developed program. The results are summarized as follows : (1) For the 50mm standard reciprocating knife, the bunching area and the maximum stalk-deflection were decreased rapidly according to the increase of cutting velocity ratio by 1.0 and decreased very slowly over this ratio. But, the secondary cut was occurred at ratio of 1.0 and increased rapidly over this ratio. (2) The 76mm standard knife showed better cutting mechanism than the 50mm, in two respects : the larger cutting area per one stroke and the lower revolutional speed of crank shaft for the same cutting velocity. (3) In respect to the bunching area and the secondary cutting length, the adequate height of 50mm standard reciprocating knife was 45~50mm. (4) In order to maintain the proper cutting mechanism, the adequate cutting velocity at forward speed of 0.5㎧ to 1.2m/s was from 0.4m/s to 1.2m/s for the standard knife.

풋콩 탈협기 개발을 위한 기초 연구 (I) - 풋콩의 물성 및 탈협 특성 - (Development of Vegetable Soybeans Thresher (I) - Physical properties and threshing characteristics of vegetable soybeans -)

  • The trend of consumption of vegetable soybeans is increasing because they are recognized as the clean vegetable. The works requiring the most intensive labor are threshing and seperation ones, and they form about 80% of total labour for vegetable soybeans production. It is necessary to develop the vegetable soybeans-thresher for the sake of cost down of vegetable soybeans production. The purpose of this study is to acquire the basic informations to design of the vegetable soybeans-thresher. We make the experimental system which control the speed of threshing cylinder and the teeth gap and investigate the detachment forces. The result are as follows ; The ratio of un-threshed soybeans-pod to stem after threshing work is decreasing as the threshing cylinder speed increases: 0.0% and 2.8% at 55m/s and 18m/s of threshing cylinder speed respectively. Also the ratio of un-threshed soybeans-pod to stem is shown as 2.0% below in the condition of 64~160mm of teeth gap and over 28m/s of threshing cylinder speed. The damaged pod ratio of detached soybeans after threshing work is decreasing as the threshing cylinder speed increases: 4.8% and 1.3% at 55m/s and 18m/s of threshing cylinder speed respectively. The minimum damaged pod ratio of detached soybeans are shown as 1.0%, 1.5% and 1.9% at 18m/s, 28m/s and 37m/s of threshing cylinder speed respectively. The average detachment forces of pods are shown as 1.5kg$_{f}$ for 3 grains, 1.2kg$_{f}$ for 2 grains and 0.8kg$_{f}$ for 1 grain respectively. The maximum detachment force of pod is shown as 2.7kg$_{f}$ for 3 grains. grains.

  • The early hydration characteristics of the system $C_3S-C_3A-C_4AF$ according to the clinker composition variations, in order to establish the mutual interactionof clinker minerals during the portland cement hydration, have been studied. The early hydration rate of $C_3S$ was greatly effected by the change of $C_3S/C_3A$ ratio. The lower the $C_3S/C_3A$ ratio was, the faster the apex reaching time and the rate of heat liberation of the 2nd exothermic peak originating from the formation of $Ca(OH)_2$ were. The effect of $C_3S/C_3A$ ration on the amounts of $Ca(OH)_2$ formation was decreased, in process of hydration time, but the effect of $C_3S$ content was increased.

시멘트 종류 및 잔골재 시멘트 비율이 PSC 구조물용 그라우트의 기본 물성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of cement type and sand to cement ratio on the properties of PSC grout)

  • 본 연구는 시멘트 종류와 잔골재 시멘트 비율(S/C)이 PSC 구조물용 그라우트의 기본 물성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 시멘트는 1종 (보통) 시멘트와 3종 (조강) 시멘트를 사용하였고, S/C를 0.5, 1.0 그리고 1.5로 변화하여 그 영향을 평가하였다. 1종 시멘트의 사용 시 모든 S/C에서 3시간과 20시간이 지났을 때 다수의 블리딩이 발생하였다. 반면에 3종 시멘트의 사용 시, 블리딩이 현저히 줄어들었지만 유동성이 낮아지는 문제점이 발생하였다. 또한, 고성능감수제의 종류를 나프탈렌계와 폴리칼본산계 두 종류를 비교한 결과 3종 시멘트를 사용한 경우의 저하된 유동성 문제를 폴리칼본산계 고성능감수제의 사용으로 해결할 수 있었다.

각종 갑상선 질환에서 혈청 Thyroxine 결합글로부린 (TBG)의 진단적 의의 (Diagnostic Significance of the Serum Thyroxine Binding Globulin(TBG) in Various Thyroid Diseases)

  • In an attempt to evaluate the diagnostic significance of the serum thyroxine binding globulin (TBG) in various thyroid disease states, the authors measured serum $T_3$ uptake, $T_3$, total $T_4\;free\;T_4$, TSH and TBG by radioimmunoassay technique, and calculated the free $T_4$ index$(FT_4I)$ and $T_4/TBG$ ratio in 10 cases of normal subjects, 11 cases of hypothyroidism, 62 cases of euthyroidism and 37 cases of hyperthyroidism. The data were analysed in the aspects of diagnostic significance in each thyroid disease state, and the results were as follows; 1. In 10 cases of normal subjects, serum TBG was $17.4\sim26.8{\mu}g/ml$, $FT_4I$ was $5.1\sim9.7$, and $T_4/TBG$ ratio was $21.9\sim49.9(Mean{\pm}S.D.)$. 2. In 62 cases of euthyroidism with diffuse and nodular goiter, $FT_4I$ was $7.26{\pm}1.82,\;T_4/TBG$ ratio was $31.47{\pm}10.42$, and there were no significant difference from those of normal subjects (p>0.5). 3. In 11 cases of hypothyroidism, the $FT_4I$ was $3.13{\pm}2.15,\;T_4/TBG$ ratio was $11.3{\pm}5.31$, significantly lower than normal controls (p<0.01). 4. In 37 cases of hyperthyroidism, the $FT_4I$ was $30.0{\pm}12.0,\;T_4/TBG$ ratio was $121.4{\pm}62.2$, significantly higher than normal controls (p<0.01). 5. There were significant correlations between the $FT_4I$ and $T_4/TBG$ ratio, total $T_4\;and\;T_4/TBG$ ratio, in each thyroid function states. 6. The $FT_4I$ showed 100% of diagnostic value in hyperthyroidism, 89.2% in euthyroidism, and 80% in hypothyroidism group. The $T_4/TBG$ ratio showed 100% of diagnostic value in hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, and 80.6% in euthyroidism group. The above results suggest that $T_4/TBG$ ratio and $FT_4I$ showed same diagnostic value in hyperthyroidism group, but $T_4/TBG$ showed higher diagnostic significance than $FT_4I$ in hypothyroidism.

  • 엽면적과 엽장 및 엽폭은 식물의 광합성 효율과 관련이 있다. 단위 엽면적당 광합성율을 증가는 콩에서 종실 수량을 증가시킨다 따라서 본 연구는 큰올콩과 신팔달콩 및 익산10호를 각각 교배하여 얻은 두 집단이 잎의 엽장과 엽폭 및 장폭비를 확인할 수 있는 SSR 마커를 선발하기 위하여 실시하였다. 잎의 장폭비는 두 집단에서 엽폭과 유의적인 부의 상관을 보였다. 엽장은 큰올콩/신팔달롱 조합에서 연관군 DIb+W와 L에서 두개의 작은 양적 형 질 유전자좌 (QTL)를 탐색하였으며, 큰올콩/익산10호 조합에서는 연관군 1와 L에서 두개 의 양적 형 질 유전자좌가 관련하였다. 엽폭은 큰올콩/신팔달콩 조합에서 2개, 큰올콩/익산10호 조합에서 3개의 양적형질 유전자좌가 관련하였으며 이들은 각각 전체 형질 변이의 13% 및 18.04%를 설명할 수 있었다. 장폭비는 큰올콩/신팔달콩 조합에서 연관군 I와 L에서 2개, 큰올콩/익산10호 조합에서 연관군 Cl과 E 및 L에서 3개의 양적형질 유전자좌가 관련하였다.

A technique to avoid aspect-ratio locking in QUAD8 element for extremely large aspect-ratios

  • This paper investigates the aspect-ratio locking of the isoparametric 8-node quadrilateral (QUAD8) element. An important finding is that, if finite element solution is carried out with in exact arithmetic (i.e., with no truncation and round off errors), the locking tendency of the element is completely avoided even for aspect-ratios as high as 100000. The current finite element codes mostly use floating point arithmetic. Thus, they can only avoid this locking for aspect-ratios up to 100 or 1000. A novel method is proposed in the paper to avoid aspect-ratio locking in floating point computations. In this method, the offending terms of the strain-displacement matrix (i.e., $\mathbf{B}$-matrix) are multiplied by suitable scaling factors to avoid ill-conditioning of stiffness matrix. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the efficacy of the method. The examples reveal that aspect-ratio locking is avoided even for aspect-ratios as high as 100000.

Light Leakage Comparison in a Homogeneously Aligned Nematic Liquid Crystal Display Depending on an Angle between Polarizer Axis and Optic Axis of a Liquid Crystal

  • We have studied contrast ratio of a homogeneously aligned nematic liquid crystal (LC) display as a function of the angle between the polarizer axis and LC director. The results show that a cell configuration in which a polarizer axis facing a light source coincides with a short LC axis has a better process margin in terms of high contrast ratio than that of the cell coinciding with a long LC axis.

Prediction of Critical Reynolds Number in Stability Curve of Liquid Jet ( I )

  • The first maximum point in the stability curve of liquid jet, i.e., the critical point is associated with the critical Reynolds number. This critical Reynolds number should be predicted by simple means. In this work, the critical Reynolds number in the stability curve of liquid jet are predicted using the empirical correlations and the experimental data reported in the literatures. The critical Reynolds number was found to be a function of the Ohnesorge number, nozzle lengh-to-diameter ratio, ambient Weber number and nozzle inlet type. An empirical correlation for the critical Reynolds number as a function of the Ohnesorge number and nozzle length-to-diameter ratio is newly proposed here. Although an empirical correlation proposed in this work may not be universal because of excluding the effects of ambient pressure and nozzle inlet type, it has reasonably agrees with the measured critical Reynolds number.
