The purpose of this study is to derive implications by comparing the spatial distribution of each service facility per unit population(1,000 people) with population decline areas. For this purpose, major concepts such as living infrastructure services, Spatial Distribution of Rural Living Service Facilities, areas of declining population, and regional extinction were reviewed and trends in prior research. Based on the literature review, 'Spatial Distribution of Rural Living Service Facilities' analysis criteria were set, and it was derived by 'the number of facilities per 1,000 population by township' using population data and rural space data. And the trend of each service sector was identified and implications were derived with 89 cities and counties in 'depopulation areas' suggested by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security. The derived implications are as follows. In the medical, leisure, and sports infrastructure sectors, 'rural areas with few service facilities per unit population' and 'depopulated areas' tended to coincide. In addition, the distribution characteristics of rural and urban areas differed by sector, which is judged to depend on the inclusion of rural facilities and population density.

The recently built rural Hanoks have shown changes in appearances regarding its shape, space and size in the traditional floor plan. This is probably the transformation process to suit the needs of modern residence as new spaces and other factors are considered these days. The purpose of the research is to provide basic data for the innovation and construction of future Hankoks by analyzing the size features of the Hanoks in the rural areas of Jeeollanam-do and changing trends. They were divided into 5 types depending on the shape and the spacing of the living room and kitchen. Then size features per each type were analyzed. From this, it was revealed that there needs to be reasonable development of types in the standard design of Hanok because the size of the rooms is actually bigger than the standard design of Hanok in Jeollanam-do. The composition of the utility rooms should be classified as either domestic space or agricultural workspace considering that this area is rural but there are not enough storage spaces for agricultural machines and materials in most houses as they did not install external storage spaces. Therefore, it was analyzed that the size varies with the changes in the composition of space because of Hankok's similarities in the area of the rooms with typical apartments.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends of research on Community Nurse Practitioners in Korea in order to suggest future directions for research on Community Nurse Practitioners. Method: A total of 109 studies published from 1980 to 2006 were analyzed according to the year of publication, research design, journal type, subject type, and major study concepts. Results: 1) The number of studies related to Community Nurse Practitioners increased by 28.4% from 1985 to 1989, and also by 28.4% from 2000 to 2004. 2) The most frequently used research design in the studies was a descriptive study design (90.8%). 3) There were 43 master's theses on Community Nurse Practitioners, and 16 studies in the Journal of Korean Community Nursing. 4) The most frequent participants were Community Nurse Practitioners (68.9%). 5) The most frequent major study concept was job analysis of Community Nurse Practitioner programs (27.5%). Conclusion: It is suggested that there should be more studies on Community Nurse Practitioner programs in the future and, particularly, experimental studies to exam the effects of interventions on health promotion by Community Nurse Practitioners are considered necessary.
Recently, plans to revitalize rural areas in addition to farming are actively having been groped since given agricultural conditions destituted. One of the plan is the 'Rural Tourism' which to sell to urbanites by merchandising rural and pleasant characteristics possessed by rural areas. As a part of the rural-urban exchange, analyzed the features of the experience programs operated by each village by selecting 152 rural-mountain villages where is supporting and presented results by synthesizing above conclusion. The results acquired through such research are as following. Currently, villages operate mainly with the experience program related to general agricultural life styles by synthesizing special features of experience programs with high frequency in operations as the present status of the rural-mountain villages and showed negative trends dependant to the existing natural resources and easy in operations. Moreover, the operation of the experience which are expected to publicize the village and create large incomes were insufficient, analyzed not to be stimulate purchasing activities by lack of connections among experience programs and only simple staged experiences are mainly operated due to low operation frequency of experience programs which can be operated with special interests or professional characteristics.
As South Korea faces a general decline in population, similar to other regions, its rural areas are also experiencing a downward trend. This study examines how the scale and shifts in population within rural towns(eup·myeon) are affecting the number of essential services such as hospitals, laundry shops, and beauty salons. Our analysis encompassed the populations of 1,403 towns, excluding nine areas due to lack of data as of 2020. Since the availability of basic services can vary with population size, we normalized the figures to reflect the number of services per 10,000 people, allowing for a comparative analysis across different population sizes. Generally, areas with more people showed an increase in the number of services per capita. Our review of changes from 2000 to 2020 revealed patterns in how service numbers adjust with population variations. Future research should delve into more detailed trends of these facilities and forecast the rural population's future to ensure that residents in areas where service sustainability may be challenging will have full access to necessary services.
National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) has proposed new methodology for estimating unit load in order to overcome the limitations of past unit load based on short-term and local area based data. In the case of agricultural land, however, the results presented by NIER are still limited because of various agricultural activities and farmland characteristics. In this study, liquid manure treated paddy field and organic farming upland were selected for considering agricultural diversity. Four different methods for evaluating unit load were used for comparing previous research results. The results of different methods presented various trends compared with those of existing studies. Paddy field treated liquid manure was 1.3 times higher for T-N load and 3.1 times for T-P load than conventional paddy field. Conventional upland was 4.4 times higher for T-N load and 1.8 times higher for T-P load than organic farming upland. In the case of non-conventional farmland, this study showed different values with the unit loads presented by NIER. This implies that it is necessary to review and apply the unit loads considering various agricultural conditions when establishing environmental policy and rural planning.
The community consciousness used to be the core of the social capital in rural Korea, and there used to be a long tradition of mutual trust and cooperation in rural village community in Korea. However, recent trends in rapid urbanization or de-ruralization may affected community consciousness and social capital in rural society in Korea. The social capital has been existed in terms of mutual trust, commonly shared norms, and cooperative behavior in farm work and daily life of rural people. Commonly shared norms and networks have accelerated social effectiveness and promoted cooperative work as well as moral and spiritual aspects of rural society. Social capital in terms of community consciousness, participation of village work, visit and invitation of the neighborhood, and participation in various village group and networks were suveyed in JanggogRi, Jori Myun, Paju city, Gyeonggi province. The data collected from 65 persons, and the major findings of the study were as follow; The respondents responded that the community consciousness of de-rural area decreased in general with a few exception in the groups of alumni, family, religion and voluntary society. Social capital in terms of participation of village work, visiting the neighbors and voting increased slightly. Further research on social capital should be conducted to strengthen community consciousness, and various measures to increase the social capital should be adopted for livable community development.
Purpose: This study was conducted to suggest the direction of follow-up research by comparing and analyzing studies related to emerging infectious diseases (EID) in the field of nursing published in Korea since 2000 and before the outbreak of COVID-19 to identify overall themes and trends. Methods: The data search period was limited to papers from 2000 to 2019, and a literature review was conducted through a domestic DB search. 1574 papers extracted through search terms were excluded according to the criteria, and the final 39 papers were selected and analyzed. Results: Nursing studies related to EID consisted of 35 quantitative studies and most of them were descriptive research studies. As for specific disease types, MERS accounted for the largest number with 22, followed by 11 influenza A, 4 EID and 2 SARS. Nurses were the most common subjects with 19 cases (48.7%), and the number of study subjects was 200 or more, 23 cases (59.0%). The outcome variables of the analysis target literature were infection prevention behavior performance, knowledge, attitude, stress, anxiety, nursing intention, and infection control. Conclusion: This study is meaningful in suggesting the direction of follow-up research by identifying the trends in EID research.
Trends of daily maximum and minimum temperatures in major cities of South Korea (Seoul, Busan, Incheon, Daegu, and Ulsan) during the past 40 years (1961-2000) were investigated. Temperature records for the Chupungryeong station were compared with those of the large cities because of the rural environment of the station. There were distinct warming trends at all stations, although the warming rates depend on each station's local climate and environment. The warming rates in Korea are much greater than the global warming trends, by a factor of 3 to 4. The most increasing rate in daily maximum temperature was at Busan with $0.43^{\circ}C$ per decade, the most increasing rate in daily minimum temperature was at Daegu with $0.44^{\circ}C$ per decade. In general, the warming trends of the cities were most pronounced in winter season with an increasing rate of $0.5^{\circ}C$/decade at least. Diurnal temperature range shows positive or negative trends according to the regional climate and environmental change. The frequency distribution of the daily temperatures for the past 40 years at Seoul and Chupungryeong shows that there have been reductions in cold day frequencies at both stations. The results imply that the impacts on human health might be positive in winter and adverse in summer if the regional warming scenario by the current regional climate model reflects future climate change in Korea.
