  • Value of rural amenity resources scattered in rural area is difficult to be assessed isolatedly. Rural Amenity Resources Map (RARM) is developed for assessing rural resources based on specific territory. In the developing process, knowledge based system is oriented because rural amenity is differed from personal feeling. Possible decision trees in RARM are developed in reviewing process of previous GIS based decision support systems, and information strategy planning is constructed for achieving goals such as rural tourism, down shifting, and rural investment.

The YoungMoon project site located in Kyunggi province was selected case study, The followings are suggestions developed in the process of preparing an alternative plan for the case study. 1) The preparing of the rural site plan is the organizing process of the planning ideas responsive to the condition of both a project site and the project directions. 2) In developing the schematic plan, it is very useful to introduce the cluster madang (small public open space) including 25 houses as a basic planning unit. 3) In comparison with the project plan, the alternative plan presented by this study has advantages of amenity and public space of the residential environment of the new rural village. It is properly said that we have to more and more discuss the best solution to take in planning the rural site, and this efforts contribute the improvement of the quality of the new village project.

  • In the study it is assumed that regional characteristics of each Ri within a Myeon are different in certain degrees. This assumption implies that in some case of rural planning, Goon(county) or Myeon may be inadequate as a planning unit. because regional characteristics within Myeon will vary in a considerable degree. The objective of this study is to obtain knowledge relevant to ascertaining planning units by classifying entire number of Ri in Ansung Goon according to the components of regionality, namely the degree of sustaining agriculture and the degree of urbanizing. There was a significant variation among Ri within a Myeon the degree of sustaining agriculture as well as in the degree of urbanizing. In this study it is implied that rural program planning of Goon as a whole seems to be irrelevant. And planning Myeon level programs needs eventually adjustments in such a way of eliminating areas(Ri) which are of inconsistent character. Some planning such as farming cooperation may be efficient if they are to be undertaken at Ri basis. If the program planning include such activities of marketing and cooperative use of facilities, a group of Ri in consistent nature of regionality can be a unit of planning.

The results of analyzing the present condition of size planning factors of community facilities show that facilities have been generally planned as multi-purpose and multi-functional facilities. And on the basis of the purpose of facilities, their functions and organization, and their operation programs, facilities are classified into community-centered, agritourism-centered, and combined ones. Using Delphi analysis, major factors that could affect size planning of community facilities were drawn on 26 community-centered, 28 agritourism-centered, and 30 combined. And the factors tended not to be applied well for size planning of community facilities.
