Study on Traffic Convenience of Aged People with Mobility Disadvantage: Focusing on Hanam-eup, Miryang-city, Gyeongsangnam-provance

  • According to the statistics, Korea is expected to reach a super-aged society in 2025. In preparation for an aging society, The government is making efforts to improve in social activity and welfare for the elderly people. But in case of people who live in urban-rural mixed cities, They can not benefit from traffic convenience that is essential in social activities. For example, surveys and interviews show that, The dwellers(65+ of some urban-rural mixed cities) have many restrictions on social activities because of mobility disadvantage. Therefore, We propose that expansion for the people who need to use the voucher taxi, Increase of the public bus service and rebuilding of the bus stop terminal. We are looking forward to this study will be used as basic data for transportation policy of urban-rural mixed cities across the country.

  • The purpose of this study utilizes the service design methodology centered on the lives and experiences of rural residents, who are the main beneficiaries of the service, to derive specific problems and needs, and to propose a service improvement plan suitable for the rural residential environment. The study selected Dosan 2-ri Village, Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do as the target of the survey, used personas and Customer Journey map of service design method to derive specific core issues and insights from the village residents. By developing this, the final five service directions for 'Air care service', 'Self-driving garbage collection and treatment service', 'Emergency/disaster networking service', 'Contaminant removal service' and 'Mobility share service' were derived and presented according to each key keyword. This study is not just a study to grasp the actual conditions of the rural residential environment, but it focuses on the lives and experiences of rural residents and extracts elements that can respond to changes in the lifestyles and patterns of the residents. It can be used as a basic material for more realistic improvement of rural residential environment and service development research. Most of the existing studies on residential environments and spaces is focused on urban areas, and there is a limit to the use of rural areas in residential areas. Therefore, by making recommendations for improvement of residential environment services suitable for rural areas and by creating residential spaces and environments in rural areas in a comfortable and safe manner, it is thought that it is possible to contribute to improvement of satisfaction in rural areas and improvement of healthy housing welfare as well as to improvement of the quality of life of residents of rural areas.

고령화사회의 DRT(Demand Responsive Transit)시스템 도입방안에 관한 연구 - 김해시를 중심으로 - (A Study on DRT System Introduction for Aging Society : A Case Study on Kimhae City)

  • Rapid increase of aging population and progressed migration from rural areas to urban areas have caused deficit of bus routes in local cities. This increasing burden of operation deficit affects the movement strategy of the transportation vulnerable who are using buses. Along with dramatically increased aging in Korea, there is an urgent need to implement a new method which can guarantee mobility rights of public transportation especially for the elderly. This study focuses on the case of Demand Responsive Transit(DRT) system that has been operating in America, Europe, Japan, etc. Kimhae(Sangdong-myeon and Saengnim-myeon) is selected as a study area. This study investigated the possibility of adopting DRT system on the perspectives of the consumer and provider by the analysis of traffic condition such as the number of transportation vehicles, present bus service and regulation and conduct of questionnaire survey which includes present bus service and DRT system and so on. In conclusion, DRT system in Kimhae city will reduce transport cost, increase affordability through the betterment of service level and secure mobility rights for the transportation vulnerable.

일부 농촌지역 여성노인들의 건강특성과 물리치료와의 상관관계 (A Study on Relations between Health Status and Physical Therapy in Rural Area Elderly Women)

  • Purpose: This study examined the health status and physical therapy in elderly women in rural areas to provide basic data on the promotion of health and physical therapy management of elderly women in rural areas. Methods: The subjects were 110 elderly women. The data was collected through individual interviews, and the tool developed for this study was a structured questionnaire based on the literature. The reliability coefficient was 0.57 ~ 0.79(Chronbach' $\alpha$). Results: Village 1 made the most of an oriental medicine clinic and a neighborhood clinic, whereas village 2 mainly used a public health center. Arthritis/ neuralgia and high blood pressure/low blood pressure were the most common complaints in the two villages; a medical institution was used once a month by more than 50% of subjects. Most rural elderly women used physical therapy, and the prevalence of arthritis/neuralgia was high. The most common problem in the two villages was poor health. The improvement in mobility was higher in the more healthy women, who also had less need for treatment at a medical institution. Conclusion: Most rural elderly women were concerned about poor health and used physical therapy. Therefore, rural medical institutions need to pay attention to the medical service and preventive activity to reduce the incidence and severity of neuromuscular syndrome in rural elderly women.

농촌지역 노년인구를 위한 방문 의료서비스 구역 설정 모델 및 알고리즘 (A Location Model and Algorithm for Visiting Health-care Districting for the Rural Elderly)

  • 농촌지역의 과소화에 따라 의료서비스에 대한 공간적 접근성이 제한되고, 노령화에 따른 의료서비스의 수요가 급격히 증가함에 따라, 최근 방문보건서비스와 같은 서비스 제공자가 수요자에게 직접 이동하는 새로운 형태의 의료서비스가 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 이러한 의료환경의 변화는 공공 의료기관의 한정된 의료자원을 효율적으로 배분하고 운영하기 위한 혁신적이고 과학적인 접근법개발에 대한 요구를 증대시키고 있다. 이러한 배경하에서 본 연구의 목적은 방문 의료서비스 제공을 위한 구역 설정 모델을 수립하고, GIS 환경에서 구역 설정 모델을 구현하는 자동구획절차(AZP) 알고리즘을 개발하는 것이다. 구역 설정 모델은 구역 내 이동성, 구역간 업무량 균형, 연속성 등의 조건을 고려한다. 이동성에 대한 세 개의 서로 다른 목적함수를 평가한다; 1) 구역 내 단위 지역간 네트워크 거리의 합 최소화, 2) 구역 내 단위 지역간 공간상호작용 최대화, 3) 구역 내 단위 지역을 순회하는 경로의 길이 최소화. 모델을 위한 AZP는 GIS 환경에서 개발되었고, 농촌의 방문보건 사례에 적용되었다. 결과는 개발된 AZP를 업무량 균형과 연속성 제약조건하에서 각 목적함수에 대하여 상이한 구획체계를 산출할 수 있음을 보여준다.

  • 최근 고령사회로 접어든 우리나라에서 고령자가 밀집한 교통소외지역의 이동권 확보를 위해 자율주행 서비스가 대두되고 있다. 기존의 자율주행 관련 연구들은 도시 및 고속도로와 같은 교통수요가 많은 지역에 초점이 맞춰져 있고, 교통소외지역에 자율주행 서비스를 제공하기 위한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이를 위해서 교통소외지역의 도로 환경 및 인프라 환경을 조사하는 것이 선행되어야 한다. 도시와 교통소외지역의 도로 환경 차이는 자율주행에 중요한 요소인 운행설계영역(ODD)와 관련된 주행 기술을 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 운행설계영역 측면에서 교통소외지역과 도시지역 간 유사한 도로 환경 요소와 차이를 보이는 요소를 비교 분석하였다. 교통소외지역의 도로 환경 중 Sidewalk, Boarding zones, Slope는 도시지역 여건과 차이를 보여 자율주행 운행설계영역 확장을 위한 기술적 고려가 필요한 상황이다.

자산관리관점에서 터널시설물의 서비스 수준 평가항목에 관한 연구 (Assessment Items for the Level of Service for Tunnel Facilities from an Asset Management Perspective)

  • 한국은 경제 부흥을 꾀하기 위해 1980년대 말부터 도로시설물 건설을 확대해 왔다. 그 결과, 2010년 이후부터는 시설물의 보수, 보강 수요가 급증할 것으로 예측된다. 따라서 제한된 예산을 가지고 사용자의 만족도를 높이면서 시설물의 관리 기술을 혁신하기 위해 자산관리정보시스템을 연구하고 있다. 본 연구는 터널시설물의 유지관리를 대상으로 서비스 수준을 평가하는 항목을 제시하는 내용으로서, 이를 위해 사용자와 관리자를 구분하여 평가항목의 중요도에 대해서 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사 결과를 토대로 Satty가 제시한 AHP(Analytical Hierarchy Process) 기법을 사용하여 평가항목들의 상대적 중요도를 파악하였다. 사용자관점에서의 중요도는 안정성-이동성-접근성-편리성-관리 효율성-쾌적성-지역 활성화-환경성-정보성 순서로 파악되었다. 또한 관리자관점에서의 중요도는 안정성-이동성-접근성-환경성-지역 활성화-편리성-관리 효율성-정보성-쾌적성 순서로 파악되었다. 이는 도로가 갖는 가장 기본적인 기능인 이동성보다 터널시설물의 안전성에 대한 관심이 더 높다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 터널시설물의 유지관리 투자계획을 수립할 때 안전성을 확보할 수 있도록 보다 많은 관심과 노력을 기울려야 할 것으로 사료된다.

Geographical Imbalances: Migration Patterns of New Graduate Nurses and Factors Related to Working in Non-Metropolitan Hospitals

  • Purpose: To examine geographical imbalances by analyzing new graduate nurses' migration patterns among regions where they grew up, attended nursing school, and had their first employment and to identify factors related to working in non-metropolitan areas. Methods: The sample consisted of 507 new graduates working in hospitals as full-time registered nurses in South Korea. Migration patterns were categorized into 5 patterns based on sequential transitions of "geographic origin-nursing school-hospital." Multiple logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify factors associated with working in non-metropolitan hospitals. Results: Nurses who grew up, graduated, and worked in the same region accounted for the greatest proportion (54%). Sixty-five percent had their first employment in the region where they graduated. Nurses tended to move from poor to rich regions and from non-metropolitan to metropolitan areas. Working in non-metropolitan hospitals was related to older age, the father having completed less than 4 years of college education, non-metropolitan origin, non-capital city school graduation, and a diploma (vs. baccalaureate) degree. Conclusion: Admitting students with rural backgrounds, increasing rural nursing school admission capacities, and providing service-requiring scholarships, particularly for students from low-income families, are recommended to address geographical imbalances.

Design of Gateway for In-vehicle Sensor Network

  • The advanced information and communication technology gives vehicles another role of the third digital space, merging a physical space with a virtual space in a ubiquitous society. In the ubiquitous environment, the vehicle becomes a sensor node, which has a computing and communication capability in the digital space of wired and wireless network. An intelligent vehicle information system with a remote control and diagnosis is one of the future vehicle systems that we can expect in the ubiquitous environment. However, for the intelligent vehicle system, many issues such as vehicle mobility, in-vehicle communication, service platform and network convergence should be resolved. In this paper, an in-vehicle gateway is presented for an intelligent vehicle information system to make an access to heterogeneous networks. It gives an access to the server systems on the internet via CDMA-based hierarchical module architecture. Some experiments was made to find out how long it takes to communicate between a vehicle's intelligent information system and an external server in the various environment. The results show that the average response time amounts to 776ms at fixec place, 707ms at rural area and 910ms at urban area.

  • In the ubiquitous computing environment, an intelligent vehicle is defined as a sensor node with a capability of intelligence and communication in a wire and wireless network space. To make it real, a lot of problems should be addressed in the aspect of vehicle mobility, in-vehicle communication, common service platform and the connection of heterogeneous networks to provide a driver with several intelligent information services beyond the time and space. In this paper, we present an intelligent information system for managing in-vehicle sensor network and a vehicle gateway for connecting the external networks. The in-vehicle sensor network connected with several sensor nodes is used to collect sensor data and control the vehicle based on CAN protocol. Each sensor node is equipped with a reusable modular node architecture, which contains a common CAN stack, a message manager and an event handler. The vehicle gateway makes vehicle control and diagnosis from a remote host possible by connecting the in-vehicle sensor network with an external network. Specifically, it gives an access to the external mobile communication network such as CDMA. Some experiments was made to find out how long it takes to communicate between a vehicle's intelligent information system and an external server in the various environment.
