  • Our main concerns in this paper are with the several kinds of social economy organization in rural South Korea, in where social exclusion is likely to be prevalent over time. Approximately, there are 2,500~3,000 social economy organizations which have been set up from 1990s. Most of their operational social aims are either to offer jobs or to provide social services for the vulnerable social groups in rural communities. They have several normative principles as a social economy organization. But the two principles were less supported than the others; 1) the community's initiative and participation, and 2) sharing surplus with community. The social economy organizations are involved in various types of business. The greatest number of social economy organizations are doing businesses in agriculture and agro-industry. On average, their value of asset is worth of 300 million wons. They are indebted for 130 million wons, averagely. Their average surplus is 110 million wons. Most of them are small businesses. It is enough to say that the social economy is at an early stage in rural South Korea. The social economy is confronted with some challenges, as follows. Firstly, the social economy organizers should be based on the needs of community in both setting up a new social economy organization and managing businesses. Secondly, networking and cooperation between social economy organizations should be expanded and strengthened. Thirdly, the sound governance with public sector should be built.

To accomplish study purposes, 169 response samples from 85 project groups which drive the local industry promotion project were verified using SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 5.0. The results showed that in the partial mediation model, the local innovation capability strengthening had a significantly positive effect on the establishment of promotion system, the establishment of promotion system had a significant effect on the revitalization of local economy, and the revitalization of local economy had a significant effect on the endogenous rural development, while the establishment of promotion system and local innovation capability strengthening didn't have effect on the endogenous rural development. In the whole mediation model, the local innovation capability strengthening had a significant effect on the revitalization of local economy, the establishment of promotion system on the revitalization of local economy, and the revitalization of local economy on the endogenous rural development. According to the verifications of study model I and II, the endogenous rural development is achieved after the revitalization of local economy through the establishment of promotion system and the local innovation capability strengthening. From these results, this study presents suggestions, limits of study and directions in the future study.

  • The purpose of this research aims to develop the creative economy sector of rural communities in Trenggalek Regency, East Java, Indonesia by mapping the creative economy sub-sectors in Trenggalek Regency. The creative economy industry has been shown to have a positive effect on GDP in many developing countries and developed countries. In urban areas, the creative economy is often associated with the development of advanced technology, such that it is unlikely to evolve in rural communities. However, the rural environmental landscape, which not only has a wealth of creative human capital but also a cultural heritage, also encourages the growth of the creative economy sector in rural areas. This qualitative research was conducted for 60 working days through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, observation and literature review. More precisely, first, it identified the potential of the creative economy both sectorally and regionally. Second, it identified the leading creative economy subsectors and compiled a creative economic development road map. After defining and mapping the potential of the creative economy, four of the sixteen sub-sectors of the creative economy were identified to be developed through a strategic plan for the growth of the creative economy using urban branding, innovative industrial centers and renewable resources.

  • Farm economy is getting worse because of the free trade trends in agriculture sector and unreasonable application of market economy principles to agricultural products. And The worldwide issues of environmental pollution as well as want of food, water and energy make human future be anxious. In addition, consumers raise questions in argument about safety of foods produced by traditional farming or imported. So I propose the urban-rural living community movement(URLCM) as an alternative plan for sustainable domestic agriculture. URLCM based on environmentally friendly agriculture and community consciousness will be able to solve many of present issues on agriculture and rural society through incessant interchanges between urban and rural community. This URLCM has to be basically founded on principles of symbiosis-coexistence and life circulation. So those that have to be driven forward arc organizing producers and consumer cooperatives, making environmentally friendly rural region and products, combining with consumer cooperatives, training the participants and so forth.

  • The purpose of this paper is to find out and discuss methods of development applicable in rural agricultural area. It is expected that rural economy will decrease in the future because of the structural problems of agricultural economy itself. The demands of rural communities for an improvement in the living standards should continue to increase but the present living environments remain poor and are at a relatively low level. This investigation focuses on the analysis of development types in rural areas in Japan. Various methods of development must be used considering specific features of each rural village. The village people's participation must be needed for success of certain methods of development. An example is the type of greentourism and type of exchange between the urban and the rural areas. Other types of development require enormous expense for construction of facilities. Various strategies and methods of development are needed in rural agricutural area in Korea. The simple method of development that is widely used currently is not really helpful to the development of rural agricultural economy.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among experience, perceived value, and satisfaction of rural tourists based on the experience economy(Pine, & Gilmore, 1998; 1999). In addition, this study included the moderating effect of length of stay on the proposed relationships. This study was attempt to develop measurement scales based on the theory of experience economy(Pine, & Gilmore, 1998). Data were collected from 481 visitors by field survey from the 10 rural tourism communities. SPSS 20.0 and Amos 18.0 statistical package were used for frequency, reliability, confirmatory factor, and structural equation modelling analysis. The results of a confirmatory factor analysis yielded four dimensions of experience(esthetics, education, escape, and entertainment). The results of structural equation modeling indicated that entertainment, esthetics, and education had positive effects on perceived value, which in turn had a positive effect on satisfaction. In addition, length of stay moderated the relationships among experience, perceived value, and satisfaction. The entertainment and esthetics among experience factor had an effects on perceived value in the group of day visit group, and the entertainment, education, and esthetics among experience factor had an effects on perceived value in the group of stay night group. And the perceived value had a positive effect on satisfaction in the all group. Therefore, in order to increase rural tourists' satisfaction effectively, practitioners needs to develop rural tourism products by considering area of experience economy including tourists' length of stay.

  • Although the $6^{th}$ industry of agriculture, the subject of this research, is a policy that is implemented nationwide, the result or its performance can vary depending on judgment and basic plan of the local government concerned. To overcome this, support of the central government and provincial governments is important, but each rural family, rural area or management unit also has to grasp the reality fast and overcome it through voluntary participation. In addition, local governments of the nation should operate this project efficiently by implementing required support and policies in each field. Local governments should also promote revitalization of local economy by providing help to rural families and management units that implement the $6^{th}$ industry of agriculture through expert consulting, matching of funding paths, and deregulation.
