A Predictive Virtual Machine Placement in Decentralized Cloud using Blockchain

  • Host's data during transmission. Data tempering results in loss of host's sensitive information, which includes number of VM, storage availability, and other information. In the distributed cloud environment, each server (computing server (CS)) configured with Local Resource Monitors (LRMs) which runs independently and performs Virtual Machine (VM) migrations to nearby servers. Approaches like predictive VM migration [21] [22] by each server considering nearby server's CPU usage, roatative decision making capacity [21] among the servers in distributed cloud environment has been proposed. This approaches usage underlying server's computing power for predicting own server's future resource utilization and nearby server's resource usage computation. It results in running VM and its running application to remain in waiting state for computing power. In order to reduce this, a decentralized decision making hybrid model for VM migration need to be proposed where servers in decentralized cloud receives, future resource usage by analytical computing system and takes decision for migrating VM to its neighbor servers. Host's in the decentralized cloud shares, their detail with peer servers after fixed interval, this results in chance to tempering messages that would be exchanged in between HC and CH. At the same time, it reduces chance of over utilization of peer servers, caused due to compromised host. This paper discusses, an roatative decisive (RD) approach for VM migration among peer computing servers (CS) in decentralized cloud environment, preserving confidentiality and integrity of the host's data. Experimental result shows that, the proposed predictive VM migration approach reduces extra VM migration caused due over utilization of identified servers and reduces number of active servers in greater extent, and ensures confidentiality and integrity of peer host's data.

소프트웨어 재활 기법을 적용한 다중계 시스템의 가용도 분석 (Availability Analysis of Multiplex Systems using Software Rejuvenation Method)

  • 고가용성 다중계 시스템의 소프트웨어 재활 기법은 시스템의 결함 발생 이후에 수동적으로 대처하기보다는 결함이 발생하기 전에 이를 미연에 방지하는 능동적 차원의 결함 허용 방법이다. 특히 멀티미디어 이동 컴퓨팅에서 사용되는 소프트웨어는 통신 단절, 데이터 유실 등으로 인한 노화 진행이 일반 소프트웨어보다 상당히 빠르게 진행되기 때문에 소프트웨어 재활에 의한 결함 예방 방법은 대규모 멀티미디어 이동 컴퓨팅 시스템에 사용될 가능성이 높다고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 서버에서 수행되는 소프트웨어의 재활 주기, 재활 소요시간, 서버의 고장률, 수리률, 동시에 가동되는 서버의 수, 서버의 가동 기간 및 가동 방식 등의 시스템 운영 파라미터에 기초하여, 소프트웨어 재활 정책에 대한 평가를 위한 평형 상태에서의 확률, downtime, 가용도, 손실 비용 등을 계산하였다 수학적 분석을 통해 구한 재활 모델의 closed-form 해는 다양한 시스템 운영 상태에 대한 실험을 통해 검증하였으며, 소프트웨어 재활을 통한 예방적 결함허용 기법의 적용 가능성이 높다는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 서버의 고장률 및 불안정률이 소프트웨어 재활 정책 결정에 중요한 요소임을 파악하였다.

KTX 차량의 주행안정성 평가를 위한 노상과 PSC 교량 상의 윤하중분포 동적해석 연구 (A Study of Dynamic Analysis of Wheel Force Spectrum between Road and PSC Bridge tracks for the KTX Safety Evaluation)

  • A comprehensive analysis of wheel force spectrum is conducted to provide the KTX safety evaluation with structural behaviour of Pre-Stressed Concrete (PSC) box bridge due to various high speeds. The wheel spectrum for KTX locomotive running over road and PSC bridge tracks is compared using irregular track responses with numerical models of 170m approach road track and 40m span length of PSC box bridge The high-speed railway locomotive is used as 38-degree of freedom system. Three displacements (vertical, lateral, and longitudinal) and three rotational components (pitching, rolling, and yawing) for one car-body and two bogies are considered in the 38-degree of freedom model. Three dimensional frame element of finite element method (FEM) is used to model of the simply supported PSC box bridge. The irregulation of rail-way is derived using the experiential spectrum density function under assumption of twelve level tracks conditions based on the normal probability procedure. The dynamic analyses by Runge-Kutta method which are able to analyze the high frequency wheel force spectrum. A dynamic behaviour of KTX due to high speeds until 450km/h developing speed with relative time is analysed and compared the characteristics running over the road and PSC box bridge tracks. Finally, the KTX integrated evaluation method of safety between high speed train and bridge is presented.

도시철도 차량의 차륜답면과 제륜자간 제동 마찰열에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Brake Frictional Heat between Wheel Tread and Brake Shoe of E.M.U.'s)

  • Wheel treads of E.M.U. are usually under a heavy thermal load by brake frictional heat between wheel and brake shoe and damaged by repeated thermal and mechanical loads. To examine the cause of wheel tread damage of E.M.U.'s in service running, a systematic approach has been used. This study is composed of three parts. Frictional heat analysis was conducted in the first part by finite element method. Two kinds of brake shoes in service were considered. In the second part, experimental study was carried out on a brake dynamometer. Temperatures were measured for the two brake shoes. And experimental study in service running E.M.U.'s was performed. Wheel and brake shoe temperatures were measured by using thermocouples and temperature indicating strips. Finally metallurgical characteristics were examined by a SEM/EDS and the cause of the wheel damage was analyzed. It seems that aggregated ferrous component is a main cause of the wheel tread damage.

움직임 벡터와 GPU를 이용한 인간 활동성 분석 (Analysis of Human Activity Using Motion Vector and GPU)

  • 본 논문에서는 실시간 감시 시스템에서 인간의 활동성을 분석하기 위하여 움직임 벡터를 사용하며, 고속연산에 GPU를 활용한다. 먼저 가장 중요한 부분인 전경으로부터 적응적 가우시안 혼합기법, 두드러진 움직임을 위한 가중치 차영상 기법, 움직임 벡터를 이용하여 인간이라고 판단되는 블랍을 검출하고, 추출된 움직임 벡터를 이용하여 사람의 활동성을 분석한다. 본 논문에서는 사람의 행동을 크게 {Active, Inactive}, {Position Moving, Fixed Moving}, {Walking, Running}의 세 가지 메타 클래스로 분류하고 인식하였다. 실험을 위해서 약 300개의 상황을 연출하였으며, 약 86%~98% 의 인식률을 보였다. 또한 $1920{\times}1080$ 크기 영상에서 CPU 기반은 4.2초 정도 걸렸는데, GPU 기반에서는 0.4초 이내로 빨라진 결과를 얻었다.

화물열차 적재화물의 균형제어 및 안전모니터링기술 적용 연구 (A Study on the Applying of Balancing Control and Safety Monitoring Technology of Cargo on the Freight Train)

  • Recently, in order to improve the efficiency of freight transportation on existing lines, a new freight train model is needed to develop urgently. The weight balance of the cargo for the freight vehicle is very important for the stability of the running train and the safe transportation of the cargo. For achieving the cargo weight balance, we proposed a Cargo Balancing Control(CBC) system on the Freight vehicle equipped in between under frame of car body and bogie system. The Cargo Safety Monitoring(CSM) system was designed to supervise status of the Cargo on freight train. The monitoring system can display real time status data from sensors and various signals effectively. We suggested that this paper is a very useful approach for keeping the safety of running freight trains on existing lines.

Vibration reduction for interaction response of a maglev vehicle running on guideway girders

  • As a vehicle moves on multiple equal-span beams at constant speed, the running vehicle would be subjected to repetitive excitations from the beam vibrations under it. Once the exciting frequency caused by the vibrating beams coincides with any of the vehicle's frequencies, resonance would take place on the vehicle. A similar resonance phenomenon occurs on a beam subject to sequential moving loads with identical axle-intervals. To reduce both resonant phenomena of a vehicle moving on guideway girders, this study proposed an additional feedback controller based the condensed virtual dynamic absorber (C-VDA) scheme. This condensation scheme has the following advantages: (1) the feedback tuning gains required to adapt the control currents or voltages are directly obtained from the tuning forces of the VDA; (2) the condensed VDA scheme does not need additional DoFs of the absorber to control the vibration of the maglev-vehicle/guideway system. By decomposing the maglev vehicle-guideway coupling system into two sub-systems (the moving vehicle and the supporting girders), an incremental-iterative procedure associated with the Newmark method is presented to solve the two sets of sub-system equations. From the present studies, the proposed C-VDA scheme is a feasible approach to suppress the interaction response for a maglev vehicle in resonance moving on a series of guideway girders.

Causality change between Korea and other major equity markets

  • The world financial markets are inter-linked in ways that varies according to market and time. We examine the causality of change focusing on the Korean market as related to the U.S. (S&P 500), Japan (Nikkei 225), Hong-Kong (HSI), and European (DAX) markets. In order to capture time-varying causality running from and to the Korea stock market, we apply the Granger causality test under a VAR model with a wild bootstrap rolling-window approach. We also propose a new concept of a significant causality ratio to measure the intensity of the Granger causality in each time unit. There are many asymmetric strengths in mutual Granger causal relationships. Moreover, there are cases with significant Granger causal relations only in one direction. The period with the most severe Granger causality both running from and to the KOSPI market is the GFC. The market that formed the two-way Granger causal relationship with the KOSPI market for the longest period is the S&P 500. The HSI and DAX markets have the strongest two-way Granger causal relationship with the KOSPI shortly after 2000, and the Nikkei market had the strongest two-way Granger causal relationship with the KOSPI market before the Asian financial crisis.

공항철도와 서울9호선 직결운행 구현방안에 대한 연구 (A study on the implementation method of interconnection between AREX and Seoul Line 9)

  • 2007년 3월에 1단계 구간이 개통되어 운영 중에 있는 공항철도와 서울시 지하철9호선의 직결운행에 대한 계획이 구체화되어감에 따라 구현방안에 대한 상세한 검토와 함께 설계에 대한 보다 체계적인 접근이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 직결운행을 위해 요구되는 신호시스템의 체계와 이에 따른 직결운행 전동차의 특성 등에 대해 구체적인 분석과 함께 문제점 및 해결방안 등을 제시한다. 또한, 신호시스템 분야에서 바라 본 공항철도와 서울9호선의 물리적인 특성과 운영방식에 따라 기존 시스템의 수정사항 및 직결을 위해 새로이 구현되어야 할 사항들에 대해 구체적으로 살펴보고 기존의 직결운행 사례에 비해 본 직결운행이 갖고 있는 특징과 요구조건 들에 대해 보다 구체적이고 체계적인 접근을 시도하여 직결구현의 방안 및 기본기준을 제시하여 향후 직결구현에 대한 지침으로 활용될 수 있도록 한다.

작업 파이프라이닝을 위한 그리드 워크플로우 스케줄러 설계 (Design of Grid Workflow System Scheduler for Task Pipelining)

  • 워크플로우 관리자는 대량의 계산용 그리드 자원을 데스크탑 컴퓨터에서 개인이 편리하게 워크플로우를 만들고 수행할 수 있게 해주는 유용한 도구이다. 보통 데이터는 스테이지-인, 프로세스, 스테이지-아웃의 순서로 순차적으로 진행되며 워크플로우 시스템은 이 과정을 자동화해준다. 그러나 최근의 e-science에서는 사용되는 데이터 량이 급속하게 증가하고 있고 원하는 출력물을 얻기 위해 여러 번의 과정을 수행하면서 데이터 이동 시간이 전체 수행시간의 많은 부분을 차지하게 되어 스테이징 과정의 개선이 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스테이징 과정을 개선하고, 이를 이용하여 가능한 한 많은 작업들을 동시 수행시키는 스케줄러를 설계하였다. 또한 모의실험을 통해 제안한 스케줄러의 성능이 10~40%까지 향상됨을 보였다.
