실무자 인터뷰를 통한 청주시 아동 그룹홈의 주거 개선 요구 조사 (Assessment of Needs for Housing Improvement of Children Group Homes in Cheongju through Interviews with Group Home Directors and Staffs)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess needs for housing improvement of children group homes in Cheongju-si through interviews with the group home directors and staffs. From April 6, 2018, to April 25, 2018, a series of face-to-face interviews with four directors and three staffs working in four children group homes was conducted. The results were analyzed using thematic analysis technique. Highlights of major findings and implications were as follow: (1) Bedroom: Needs for independent bedrooms and desks for each child were dominant. (2) Common activity space: Interviewees showed somewhat different opinions on common activity spaces according to group home types and/or between directors and staffs. (3) Between "a big and good-quality house" and "a house in good location", interviewees were found to prefer "a big and good-quality house" in order for children to have enough space to run and play. (4) Interviewees insisted that to provide proper group home services and protection similar to a real family, current policy to accommodate up to eight children in one group home should be improved.

The Significant Role of Industrial Organizational Psychologists to Increase Employee Job Satisfaction

  • Purpose: This study's primary goal is to investigate and evaluate the critical contributions made by industrial-organizational psychologists to raising worker job satisfaction. The study aims to offer insights that can enhance workplace environments, improve organizational processes, and increase employees' general well-being by looking at the particular contributions made by this field. Research design, data and methodology: The study design, data collection strategies using the literature content analysis allow for a thorough analysis and synthesis of the body of knowledge about industrial-organizational psychologists' contributions to improving worker job satisfaction. This method entails a sequential procedure that includes formulating research questions and locating pertinent studies. Results: Numerous previous works have indicated that industrial-organizational psychologists are essential in determining how an organization is run and how satisfied its workforce is with their jobs. The four major roles (Job Design, Leadership, Workplace Culture, and Employee Development) that were found after a thorough analysis of the body of current literature are presented in this section. Conclusions: In sum, the roles found in this study provide organizations with a framework for creating work environments that prioritize the well-being and overall growth of the people who make up the organization while also helping them negotiate the complexity of the modern workplace.

Comparison of event tree/fault tree and convolution approaches in calculating station blackout risk in a nuclear power plant

  • Station blackout (SBO) risk is one of the most significant contributors to nuclear power plant risk. In this paper, the sequence probability formulas derived by the convolution approach are compared with those derived by the conventional event tree/fault tree (ET/FT) approach for the SBO situation in which emergency diesel generators fail to start. The comparison identifies what makes the ET/FT approach more conservative and raises the issue regarding the mission time of a turbine-driven auxiliary feedwater pump (TDP), which suggests a possible modeling improvement in the ET/FT approach. Monte Carlo simulations with up-to-date component reliability data validate the convolution approach. The sequence probability of an alternative alternating current diesel generator (AAC DG) failing to start and the TDP failing to operate owing to battery depletion contributes most to the SBO risk. The probability overestimation of the scenario in which the AAC DG fails to run and the TDP fails to operate owing to battery depletion contributes most to the SBO risk overestimation determined by the ET/FT approach. The modification of the TDP mission time renders the sequence probabilities determined by the ET/FT approach more consistent with those determined by the convolution approach.

Modeling and analysis of selected organization for economic cooperation and development PKL-3 station blackout experiments using TRACE

  • A series of tests dedicated to station blackout (SBO) accident scenarios have been recently performed at the $Prim{\ddot{a}}rkreislauf-Versuchsanlage$ (primary coolant loop test facility; PKL) facility in the framework of the OECD/NEA PKL-3 project. These investigations address current safety issues related to beyond design basis accident transients with significant core heat up. This work presents a detailed analysis using the best estimate thermal-hydraulic code TRACE (v5.0 Patch4) of different SBO scenarios conducted at the PKL facility; failures of high- and low-pressure safety injection systems together with steam generator (SG) feedwater supply are considered, thus calling for adequate accident management actions and timely implementation of alternative emergency cooling procedures to prevent core meltdown. The presented analysis evaluates the capability of the applied TRACE model of the PKL facility to correctly capture the sequences of events in the different SBO scenarios, namely the SBO tests H2.1, H2.2 run 1 and H2.2 run 2, including symmetric or asymmetric secondary side depressurization, primary side depressurization, accumulator (ACC) injection in the cold legs and secondary side feeding with mobile pump and/or primary side emergency core coolant injection from the fuel pool cooling pump. This study is focused specifically on the prediction of the core exit temperature, which drives the execution of the most relevant accident management actions. This work presents, in particular, the key improvements made to the TRACE model that helped to improve the code predictions, including the modeling of dynamical heat losses, the nodalization of SGs' heat exchanger tubes and the ACCs. Another relevant aspect of this work is to evaluate how well the model simulations of the three different scenarios qualitatively and quantitatively capture the trends and results exhibited by the actual experiments. For instance, how the number of SGs considered for secondary side depressurization affects the heat transfer from primary side; how the discharge capacity of the pressurizer relief valve affects the dynamics of the transient; how ACC initial pressure and nitrogen release affect the grace time between ACC injection and subsequent core heat up; and how well the alternative feeding modes of the secondary and/or primary side with mobile injection pumps affect core quenching and ensure stable long-term core cooling under controlled boiling conditions.

한국 패션 박물관 건립을 위한 패션 박물관의 기능과 현황 연구 (A Study of the Function and the Current State of Fashion Museum for Construction of Korean Fashion Museum)

  • These days, fashion museums that were established during the 60~70s in advanced countries are spiritedly planning opportune exhibitions as well as opening collections and accumulated research materials to the public. They are also publishing innovative visual references and offering various educational programs. They play a crucial role in speeding up the development of creativity of fashion designers by accumulating archives through analytic researches. Since Korea has applied western fashion for over a century, now is the time to make a fundamental long-term plan for establishing the identity of Korean fashion by gathering and classifying the history of a century. Thus, the aim of this study is to reach a conclusion to construct fashion museum in Korea to discover as well as develop fashion talents and eventually enhancing national competitiveness. First, the theoretical study on the history and the functions of fashion museum were analysed. 'The collection & exhibition' in the common thread is one function of the fashion museum. Another function is 'the research', which includes accumulations, classification and record of materials in a particular point of view. It also includes publishing catalogues with temporary exhibitions and open management to the scholars and the designers. 'The communication', which is enacted through various educational programs and events for inflow of new visitors, is the other function of fashion museum. The current state of fashion museums in advanced countries and Korea were also analysed. Korean public museums only owned traditional collections while public fashion museums in other advanced countries usually owned collection of the past and the present together. The only contemporary fashion museum in Korea is run private which leads to many problems. Finally, The study went further to suggest the advanced model of fashion museum in Korea based on the research.

6월중 가막만의 수온, 염분 및 투명도 분포 (Distributions of Water Temperature, Salinity and Transparency in Kamak Bay on June)

  • 어장환경관리의 기본자료를 얻기 위하여 1984년 6월중에 가막만에서 실시한 해양관측자료를 가지고 상기만의 밀물과 썰물시 해황분포를 알아보고 그 특성이 지형적 요인에 의해 크게 좌우됨을 살폈다. 가막만은 두개의 만구와 돌출한 도서 및 지세 등 그 지형적 여건에 의해 4개의 특징적 수괴가 나타난다. 내만수는 내륙의 영향이 강한 정체성을, 여수항수는 섬진강 영향이 큰 저염의 외해성을, 만외수는 해저난류 또는 와류발생으로 수직균질한 외해성을, 중간수는 만외수와 내만수의 중간성격이다. 밀물때 양만구로 유입한 해수는 대략 소경도와 항대를 연결하는 선에서 만난다. 군내리근에서는 지형성 와류 혹은 해저난류가 발생하는 것으로 추정되는데, 밀물때는 해수의 침강이, 썰물때는 저층수의 특성치가 보여지며 그 크기는 약 3 km 까지 뻗친다.

  • 스마트폰 가입자가 3000만명을 돌파하면서 IT강국에서 스마트 강국으로 도약 하고 있다. '손안의 PC'로 불리는 스마트폰의 대중화는 국민생활은 물론이고 기업과 정부에도 혁명적인 변화를 몰고 있다. 현재의 스마트 폰의 용도는 단순 통화 기능만이 아닌 언제 어디서나 커뮤니케이션을 할 수 있으며 언제 어디에서나 손안의 단말기 형식의 문화로 자리 잡고 있다. 하지만 스마트 폰으로 웹 서핑을 하면서 기존의 PC용 홈페이지를 모바일 기기 화면에서 보게 되면 화면 사이즈와 기존의 플래시 및 동영상 파일의 실행이 되지 않아 모바일 기기를 사용하는 사용자들에게 불편사항을 줄 수 있다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 스마트 폰 환경에서 모바일 전용 콘텐츠를 설계하여 스마트 폰 사용자에게 효율적인 콘텐츠 서비스를 제공하고자 한다.

  • 전동기의 전기적/기계적 파라미터 측정에 관한 연구는 브리시리스 전동기 적용에 까지, 비교적 오랜기간에 걸쳐 체계적인 연구가 진행되어져 왔다. 그러나 효율적인 전기 에너지 관리를 위해 전동기 구동시스템의 전력 파라미터의 분석 및 평가에 관한 체계적인 연구는 미진한 형편이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 PC 화면상에 다양한 그래픽 화면과 수치로 디스플레이 가능한 사용자 위주의 전동기 구동장치의 전력 파라미터 분석 및 평가법을 제안하고 시스템을 개발하였다. 분석 및 평가시스템은 586-PC, DSP보드, 전력 파라미터의 분석 및 평가 소프트웨어 및 전동기 구동시스템으로 구성되어 있다. 전력 파라미터는 전압, 전류파형의 상호상관함수 알고리즘에 의해 분석되며, 이 분석 알고리즘을 DSP가 전담하여, 전력 파라미터를 실시간 분석하였다. 3차원 전류좌표계에 의하여 분석결과의 가시화를 행하였으며, 종래의 시간/주파수 영역에서의 2차원적인 평가법과 비교하였다. 적용대상 전동기로는 기동 토오크가 크며, 역률, 효율이 좋다는 장점 때문에 널리 이용되고 있는 단상 캐패시터 구동형 유동 전동기와 싸이리스터로 제어되는 구동 시스템을 선정하였다. 캐패시터 구동형 단상 유동전동기의 속도제어를 위하여 싸이리스터의 위상각을 변화시켰으며, 위상각 변화에 따른 전동기의 전력 파라미터를 분석 평가하여 본 연구의 유용성을 확인하였다.

DEEP-South: The Progress and the Plans of the First Year

  • The wide-field and the round-the clock operation capabilities of the KMTNet enables the discovery, astrometry and follow-up physical characterization of asteroids and comets in a most efficient way. We collectively refer to the team members, partner organizations, the dedicated software subsystem, the computing facility and research activities as Deep Ecliptic Patrol of the Southern Sky (DEEP-South). Most of the telescope time for DEEP-South is devoted to targeted photometry of Near Earth Asteroids (NEAs) to push up the number of the population with known physical properties from several percent to several dozens of percent, in the long run. We primarily adopt Johnson R-band for lightcurve study, while we employ BVI filters for taxonomic classification and detection of any possible color variations of an object at the same time. In this presentation, the progress and new findings since the last KAS meeting will be outlined. We report DEEP-South preliminary lightcurves of several dozens of NEAs obtained at three KMTNet stations during the first year runs. We also present a physical model of asteroid (5247) Krylov, the very first Non principal Axis (NPA) rotator that has been confirmed in the main belt (MB). A new asteroid taxonomic classification scheme will be introduced with an emphasis on its utility in the LSST era. The progress on the current version of automated mover detection software will also be summarized.

파랑작용이 해안대수층의 해수침투에 미치는 영향 및 저감방안 (Effects of Wave Action on Seawater Intrusion in Coastal Aquifer and Mitigation Strategies)

  • This study conducted numerical simulations using LES-WASS-3D ver. 2.0 to analyze the seawater intrusion characteristics of the incident waves in a coastal aquifer. LES-WASS-3D directly analyzed the nonlinear interaction between the seawater and freshwater in a coastal aquifer, as well as the wave-current interaction in the coastal area. First, the LES-WASS-3D results were compared with the existing experimental results for the mean water level under wave action in the coastal aquifer and seawater penetration into the coastal aquifer. The mean water level, shape and position of the seawater-freshwater interface, and intrusion distance were well implemented in the results. This confirmed the validity and effectiveness of LES-WASS-3D. The overall seawater penetration distance increases in the coastal aquifer as a result of wave set-up and run-up in the swash zone caused by continuous wave actions, and it increases with the wave height and period. Furthermore, a numerical verification was performed by comparing the suggested existing structure and newly suggested curtain wall as a measure against seawater penetration. An existing underground dam showed a better effect with increased height. Additionally, the suggested curtain wall had a better effect when the embedded depth was increased.
