Based on the random vibration theory, a response spectrum method is developed for seismic response analysis of linear, multi-degree-of-freedom structures under multi-support excitations is developed. Various response quantities, including the mean and variance of the peak response, the response mean frequency, are obtained from proposed combination rules in terms of the mean response spectrum. This method makes it possible to apply the response spectrum to the seismic reliability analysis of structures subjected to multi-support excitations. Considering that the tedious numerical integration is required to compute the spectral parameters and correlation coefficients in above combination rules, this paper further offers simplified procedures for their computation, which enhance dramatically the computational efficiency of the suggested method. The proposed procedure is demonstrated for tow numerical examples: (1) two-span continuous beam; (2) two-tower cabled-stayed bridge by using Monte Carlo simulation (MC). For this purpose, this paper also presents an approach to simulation of ground motions, which can take into account both mean and variation properties of response spectrum. Computed results based on the response spectrum method are in good agreement with Monte Carlo simulation results. And compared with the MSRS method, a well-developed multi-support response spectrum method, the proposed method has an incomparable computational efficiency.

This paper proposes a fuzzy decision making method for power transformer protection to identify an internal fault from other transient states such as inrush, over-excitation and an external fault with current transformer (CT) saturation. In this paper, analyzing over 300 EMTP simulations of disturbances, four input variables are selected and fuzzified. At every sampling interval from half to one cycle after a disturbance, from the EMPT simulations, different fuzzy rule base is composed of twelve if-then fuzzy rules associated with their basic probability assignments for singleton- or compound-support hypotheses. Dempster's rule of combination is used to process the fuzzy rules and get the final decision. A series of test results clearly indicate that the method can identify not only an internal fault but also the other transients. The average of relay operation times is about 12(ms). The proposed method is implemented into a Digital Signal Processor (TMS320C31) and tested.
There exist some regular multiple relations in the intervals of notes when they are combined within one measure. This paper presents a method to find the exact measure positions in monophonic song based on those relations. In the proposed method the individual intervals are segmented at first and the rules that state the multiple relations are used to find the measure position. The measures can be applied as the foundational information for extracting beat and tempo of a song which can be used as background knowledge of automatic music transcription system. The proposed method exactly detected the measure positions of 11 songs out of 12 songs except one song which consist of monophonic voice song of the men and women. Also one can extract the information of beat and tempo of a song using the information about extracted measure positions with music theory.
The crack-tip stress fields and fracture mechanics assessment parameters for a surface crack, such as the elastic stress intensity factor or the elastic-plastic J-integral, can be affected significantly by the adjacent cracks. Such a crack interaction effect due to multiple cracks can alter the fracture mechanics assessment parameters significantly. There are many factors to be considered, for instance the relative distance between adjacent cracks, the crack shape, and the loading condition, to quantify the crack interaction effect on the fracture mechanics assessment parameters. Thus, the current assessment codes on crack interaction effects (crack combination rules), including ASME Sec. XI, BS7910, British Energy R6 and API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, provide different rules for combining multiple surface cracks into a single surface crack. The present paper investigates crack interaction effects by evaluating the elastic stress intensity factor and the elastic-plastic J-integral of adjacent in-plane surface cracks in a plate through detailed 3-dimensional elastic and elastic-plastic finite element analyses. The effects on the fracture mechanics assessment parameters of the geometric parameters, the relative distance between two cracks, and the crack shape are investigated systematically. As for the loading condition, an axial tension is considered. Based on the finite element results, the acceptability of the crack combination rules provided in the existing guidance was investigated, and the relevant recommendations on a crack interaction for in-plane surface cracks are discussed. The present results can be used to develop more concrete guidance on crack interaction effects for crack shape characterization to evaluate the integrity of defective components.
In this paper, we propose a probabilistic Korean parsing model using a syntactic feature, a functional feature, a content feature, and a site feature of a syntactic object for effective syntactic disambiguation. It restricts grammar rules to binary-oriented form to deal with Korean properties such as variable word order and constituent ellipsis. In experiments, we analyze the parsing performance of each feature combination. Experimental results show that the combination of different features is preferred to the combination of similar features. Besides, it is remarkable that the function feature is more useful than the combination of the content feature and the size feature.
The up-to-moment dataset is built by combining the past dataset and the recent dataset. The proposal is to compute association rules in real time. This study proposed the model, $EM_{past'}$ and algorithm that is sensitive to time. It can be utilized in real time by applying partitioned combination law after dividing the past dataset into(k-1). Also, we suggested $EM^{ES}_{past}$ applying the exponential smoothing method to $EM^p_{past'}$ When the association rules of $EM_{past'}\;EM^w_{past'\;and\;EM^{ES}_{past}$ were compared, The simulation results showed that $EM^{ES}_{past}$ is most accurate for testing dataset than $EM_{past}$ and $EM^w_{past}$ in huge dataset.
Today, container terminals are fiercely competing to attract an increasing number of containers. As a way to improve terminal productivity, this study proposes two dispatching rules for yard truck allocation priorities. First, Multi-Attribute Dispatching Rule(MADR) is an allocation method to calculate the weighted sum of multiple factors affecting container terminal productivity and priority them. Especially, the workload of the quay crane was considered one of the factors to reduce the residence time of the ship. Second, Cycling Dispatching Rule(CDR) is the effective way to increase the number of double cycles that directly affect terminal productivity. To identify the effects of combinations of pooling and dispatching, a comparative experiments was performed on 8 scenarios that combined them. A simulation environment has been developed for experiments and the results have demonstrated that the combination of terminal level pooling and Multi-attribute Dispatching could be an excellent combination in KPIs consisting of GCR and delayed departure of ships, etc.
The role of ICC Court of Arbitration in ICC Arbitration is critical in maintaining the good reputation and worldwide recognition. While most arbitration institutions are the products of regional on national private associations, which play a relatively limited role in appointing or confirming the arbitrators, the Court of Arbitration is not only international in the appointment of arbitrators through the each National Committee, but also intervene in the confirmation of the prospective arbitrators proposed by the parties. Thus the ICC Arbitration is undoubtedly the most highly-supervised form of institutional arbitration available. The purpose of this paper is to examine the appointment and confirmation system of ICC Arbitration, to find the distinctive features of the ICC Rules of Arbitration and to check how to apply the features in the Rules of International Arbitration for the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board(KCAB Rules). Although the KCAB Rules have inherent limitations in the appointment of the arbitrators comparing with the ICC Court. They do not have any confirmation system of the arbitrator proposed by the parties. Although no arbitral institutions is in a position to guarantee completely the ultimate quality and efficacy of the process, the ICC, more than any other institution has historically endeavored to do so through a combination of the efforts of its International Court of Arbitration and National Committees. Composed of legal professionals of more than 75 nationalities, the Court, with the support of its permanent Secretariat in Paris, brings to bear on the decisions that it is responsibility to make the collective and disparate knowledge and experience of a multinational body. Therefore, if the KCAB wants to attract many international disputes, it should try to benchmark the ICC Rules of Arbitration, expecially the Article 9, to secure the prominent arbitrators throughout the world, even though a lot of limitations are exist. The positive role of the ICC Court of Arbitration gives us very important signal.

In current CBR(Case-Based Reasoning) systems, the case adaptation is usually performed by rule-based method that use rules hand-coded by the system developer. So, CBR system designer faces knowledge acquisition bottleneck similar to those found in traditional expert system design. In this thesis, 1 present a model for learning method of case adaptation knowledge using case base. The feature difference of each pair of cases are noted and become the antecedent part of an adaptation rule, the differences between the solutions in the compared cases become the consequent part of the rule. However, the number of rules that can possibly be discovered using a learning algorithm is enormous. The first method for finding cases to compare uses a syntactic measure of the distance between cases. The threshold fur identification of candidates for comparison is fixed th the maximum number of differences between the target and retrived case from all retrievals. The second method is to use similarity metric since the threshold method may not be an accurate measure. I suggest the elimination method of duplicate rules. In the elimination process, a confidence value is assigned to each rule based on its frequency. The learned adaptation rules is applied in riven target Problem. The basic. process involves search for all rules that handle at least one difference followed by a combination process in which complete solutions are built.
In this paper We describe an algorithm which is devised for 4he partition o# the input space and the generation of fuzzy rules by the fuzzy entropy and tested with the time series prediction problem using Mackey-Glass chaotic time series. This method divides the input space into several fuzzy regions and assigns a degree of each of the generated rules for the partitioned subspaces from the given data using the Shannon function and fuzzy entropy function generating the optimal knowledge base without the irrelevant rules. In this scheme the basic idea of the fuzzy neural network is to realize the fuzzy rules base and the process of reasoning by neural network and to make the corresponding parameters of the fuzzy control rules be adapted by the steepest descent algorithm. The Proposed algorithm has been naturally derived by means of the synergistic combination of the approximative approach and the descriptive approach. Each output of the rule's consequences has expressed with its connection weights in order to minimize the system parameters and reduce its complexities.
