슬림형 광디스크 드라이브의 방진마운트 설계 (Design of a Rubber Mount for Vibration Reduction in a Slim Optical Disk Drive)

  • With the increase of track density, high rotational speed and the compatibility for various media in optical disk drives, the effective design to vibration reduction is very important for robust operation. Especially when a slim optical disk drive for a notebook PC is excited by a mass-unbalanced disk, internal vibration and its transmission to external case bring about severer problem than that of conventional one. In this paper a design process of a rubber mount in a slim optical disk drive for vibration reduction is presented. The characteristics of rubbery materials - hyper-elastic and visco-elastic - are measured with standard specimens. The static stiffness of a rubber mount was calculated by FEM and the dynamic stiffness is predicted with the static stiffness and the impedance test data of the standard specimen. The transmissibility tests are performed for the purpose of verification of the design process.

  • In order to obtain the high resilience, low compression set and less of hardness change in the wiper blade rubber, vulcanization system and receipes must be controlled. To improve the above the above Physical properties, the system should be taken as follows. i) peroxide vulcanization system and sulfur vulcanization system. ii) rubber having more cis-form than trans-form. iii) moderate particle size cabon black. v) usage of other improvement agent. The rubber blade with 4.4% compression set, 76% resilience, Hs 0 $\pm$ 2 hardness change could be abtained through vulcanization system, In addition, the surface of wiper blade must be treated by chemically and physically to minimize for the skid and friction.

Influence of Thermal Aging in Change of Crosslink Density and Deformation of Natural Rubber Vulcanizates

  • Crosslink is the most important chemistry in a rubber vulcanizate. Degree and type of crosslinks of the vulcanizate determine its physical properties. Change of crosslink density and deformation of a rubber vulcanizate by thermal aging were studied using natural rubber (NR) vulcanizates with various cure systems (conventional, semi-EV, and EV) and different cure times (under-, optimum-, and overture). All the NR vulcanizates were deformed by the thermal aging at 60-100 $^{\circ}C.$ The higher the aging temperature is, the more degree of the deformation is. The undercured NR vulcanizates after the thermal aging were deformed more than the optimumand overcured ones. The NR vulcanizates with the EV cure system were less deformed than those with the conventional and semi-EV cure systems. The deformation of the NR vulcanizates was found to be due to change of the crosslink density of the vulcanizates. The crosslink densities of all the vulcanizates after the extraction of organic materials were also changed by the thermal ging. The sources to change the crosslink densities of the vulcanizates by the thermal aging were found to be dissociation of the existing sulfur crosslink and the formation of new crosslinks by free sulfur, reaction products of curing agents, and pendent sulfide groups.

안전한 노인요양시설 환경을 위한 실내 바닥마감재에 관한 연구 (A Study on Interior Flooring Materials for Safe Elderly Nursing Home Environment)

  • The number of elderly who wants to access to Nursing Homes (NH) will increase due to the rapid aging society and domestic changes. Those who move into NH expect 24/7 care service in safe environment. Providing space free from danger, especially from fall, for the frail elderly is essential. The purpose of this study is to categorize performance needs of flooring materials in the aspect of safety, and analyze materials so that adequate ones for each space in NH can be suggested. Performance needs are as follows; slip resistance (dry/wet), fire resistance, resilience, water resistance, soil retardant, anti-bacterial, gloss, sound absorbtion. maintenance, durability, ease replacement, color and pattern variety, visual and tactual texture, tactile warmth, IAQ, sustainable material (before use), impact to nature (after use). They are categorized under function, economy, sensibility and sustainability. It was found that there are better materials than common ones that has been used repeatedly in NHs, such as vinyl sheets and VCT. In overall, Cork flooring and nylon carpet met all four categories, followed by wool carpet, rubber and linoleum. For bedroom, wood flooring, Cork, rubber, wool carpet, nylon carpets were suggested. In bathroom with shower, rubber, vinyl sheet and porcelain tiles were safe materials. As living/dining room and corridor floors, wool carpet, nylon carpet, cork flooring would be excellent as they are resilient and durable. The result of this paper can be used by both NH managers and material companies, resulting better quality of life of the elderly by providing safe environment.

인상채득 후 시간경과와 반복주입에 따른 부가중합형 실리콘 인상재의 체적변화 (Evaluation of the Time and Pouring Frequency Dependent Dimensional Stability of Additional Silicone Impression Materials.)

  • The accuracy and dimensional stability of rubber impression materials are very important for the fitness of the final restoration. The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the effects of the storage time and pouring frequency of the additional silicone materials on dimensional stability. Total 30 impressions were made of tooth prepared single crown. The dies had 1 buccolingual, 1 mesiodistal and 1 occlusogingival lines. Two additional silicone materials(examixfine, aquasil) were included. 15 specimens were made of each impression material and poured by type IV stone over times(1hour, 24hours, 72hours) after mixing. 5 impressions poured after 1 hour were used for second pouring after 24hours and third pouring after 72hours. The same examiner measured each specimen 3 times after lazer scanning. All statistical tests were performed with the level of significance set at 0.05. The results indicated that significant difference at any measuring point of stone dies except the buccolingual and mesiodistal lines of the specimen made at 1hour after mixing with examixfine when measurements at 1hour, 24hours and 72hours were campared. There were significant difference between two impression materials and at every measuring point of stone dies made at second and third pouring. The length of measuring point increased significantly as time passed by and increase of the pouring frequency. However, this results are clinically acceptable except the dies of the third pouring. Under the conditions of this study, the shrinkage rate of the additional silicone rubber impression materials significantly increased as time passed by and increase of the pouring frequency.

  • $Ni_{0.5}-Zn_{0.4}-X_{0.1}{\cdot}Fe_2O_4$의 조성에서 X를 각각 Cu, Mg, Mn으로 치환시켜 치환원소에 따른 결정구조와 형상, 입도 및 자기적 성질을 비교 분석하여고, Network Analyzer을 이용하여 $Ni_{0.5}-Zn_{0.4}-X_{0.1}{\cdot}Fe_2O_4$-Rubber Composite의 재료정수 및 전파흡수특성에 대하여 비교 조사하였다. 치환원소에 관계없이 동일한 결정구조와 형상 및 입도를 나타냈고, VSM 분석결과 치환원소에 관계없이 동일한 자화값을 가지며, Mg로 치환된 경우 가장 큰 보자력과 자기이력손실을 나타냈다. 또한 Mn으로 치환된 경우 가장 높은 유전손실(${\varepsilon}_r"/{\varepsilon}_r'$)을, Cu로 치환된 경우에는 가장 큰 자기손실(${\mu}_r"/{\mu}_r'$)을 나타냈다. 4mm의 두께로 제조한 Compos-Composite에서는 Mg로 치환된 시료가 2GHz에서 -40dB이상의 가장 우수한 전파흡수특성을 나타내었다.

친수성 고무인상재의 침적 소독이 경석모형의 크기의 안정성과 표면경도에 미치는 영향 (EFFECT ON IMMERSI0N DISINFECTION OF HYDROPHIILIC RUBBER IMPRESSI0N MATERIAL ON DIMENSIONAL STABILITY AND SURFACE HARDNESS OF IMPROVED STONE CAST)

  • Disinfection of dental impressions are necessary due to contamination with patient’s saliva and blood, which is a potential for cross-infection. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of disinfection of four hydrophilic rubber impression materials with three disinfecting solutions, on the dimensional stability and surface hardness of improved stone casts. Three hydrophilic vinyl polysiloxane impression materials(Express, Reprosil, Exafine) and one polyether impression material(Impregum-F) were mixed according to the manufacturer’s directions and impressions were made on a ADA specification No. 19 stainless-steeldie. On removal of the impressions, each impression was immersed in one of the disinfectants(Banicide, Potadine, Clorox) for 10 minutes. After disinfection, type IV improved stone. casts were poured. On this cast, the linear dimension and surface hardness were measuredusing a Measurescope(Nikon, Japan) and a Barcol hardness tester(Barber, Colman Co U. S. A). The results were as follows : 1. The improved stone casts from disinfected Reprosil and Impregum-F impression material did not show dimensional changes(P>0.01). Those from disinfected Express and Exafine impression material showed dimensional changes(P<0.01). The amount of shrinkage was not clinically significant. 2. The improved stone casts from disinfected Express impression material did not exhibit changes in surface hardness(P>0.01), but those from disinfected Reprosil, Exafine, Imp regnum-F impression material showed changes in surface hardness(P<0.01). 3. The dimensinal stability and surface hardness of the improved stone casts were satisfactory using Banicide on Express, all disinfectants used in this study on Reprosil, Potadin and Clorox on Exafine, Banicide and Clorox on Impregum-F. According to these results, immersion disinfection of hydrophilic rubber impression mate rials did not adversely affect the resultant casts. Nevertheless compatibility tests of impression materials and disinfectants should be done when disinfecting impressions.

철도 차량용 방진고무의 온도에 따른 뮬린스 효과 (Temperature-dependent Mullins Effect in Anti-vibration Rubber for Railway Vehicles)

  • Rubber materials are widely used for anti-vibration in various industries such as railways, automobile, and aviation. However, various factors hinder the accurate prediction of mechanical properties and lifetime of these materials. Particularly, a stress softening phenomenon Mullins effect greatly affects the accuracy of test results by reducing the initial peak stress. Although the Mullins effect has been studied previously, research on its temperature dependence is lacking. In this study, we performed experiments to estimate the temperature dependence of the Mullins effect. Dumbbell specimens made of natural rubber (NR65) was mounted on a stress softening tester and placed in a heat chamber, where they were tested at temperature of 25, 50, and $80^{\circ}C$. Further, five test sets, each consisting of 10 loading/unloading cycles were sequentially performed at predetermined time intervals. Based on the test results, we assessed the effect of temperature and time interval on stress softening and recovery.

EPDM 고무/유기 벤토나이트 복합체의 제조: 개질된 벤토나이트와 최종 생성물의 특성에 대한 염산의 영향 (Fabrication of EPDM Rubber/Organo-bentonite Composites: Influence of Hydrochloric Acid on the Characteristics of Modified Bentonite and Final Products)

  • 고무 매트릭스와 벤토나이트의 상용성을 향상시키기 위하여 유기개질 벤토나이트는 벤토나이트 현탁액에서 실란커플링제인 [3-(2-aminoethylamino)propyl]trimethoxysilane(AEAPTMS)]를 사용하여 합성되었다. 유기개질 벤토나이트의 구조와 특성을 FTIR-spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) 등을 사용하여 분석하였다. Ethylene-propylene-diene monomer(EPDM) 고무와 유기 벤토나이트를 two-roll mill에서 배합하였으며 가황을 하고 물성을 측정하였다. 벤토나이트 개질에 대하여 염산과 물의 농도가 복합체의 물성에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 벤토나이트의 함량이 20 phr 포함된 복합체의 경우 가장 좋은 물성을 나타내었고 인장강도는 1.95에서 4.8 MPa로 증가되었으며 신장률은 300에서 500%로 증가하는 경향을 보였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 화학적 표면처리에 따른 카본블랙의 구조 변화가 카본블랙/고무 복합재료의 경화거동 및 tearing energy ($G_T$)에 어떠한 영향을 주는가에 대하여 관찰하였다. 실험적 결과를 통하여, 극성 및 무극성 용액으로 화학적 표면 처리한 카본블랙은 극성 또는 무극성 관능기의 발달로 카본블랙의 물리적 구조의 변화를 가져 왔다. Kissinger 식으로부터 얻은 카본블랙/고무 복합재료의 경화 거동은 경화 활성화 에너지 (cure activation energy, Ea)와 진동 인자 (frequency factor, A)가 분산력이 좋은 시편에서 감소하여 결과적으로 높은 반응성을 나타내는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 한편, 염기성 용액으로 처리한 BCB와 무극성 용액으로 표면 처리한 NCB는 충전재로 사용된 카본블랙/고무 복합재료의 기계적 물성 중 tearing energy를 증가시켰다. 이러한 결과는 분산력 또는 agglomerate의 발달, 표면 관능기, 기공 부피 (void volume), 그리고 카본블랙/고무 복합재료의 가교밀도 (cross-linking density)등으로 설명될 수 있었다.
