Rapid Development and adoption of AIS as a survailance tool has resulted in widespread application of data analysis technology, in addition to AIS ship trajectory clustering. AIS data-based clustering has become an increasingly popular method for marine traffic pattern recognition, ship route prediction and anomaly detection in recent year. In this paper we propose a route waypoint extraction by clustering ships CoG variance trajectory using Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Application with Noise (DBSCAN) algorithm in both port approach channel and coastal waters. The algorithm discovers route waypoint effectively. The result of the study could be used in traffic route extraction, and more-so develop a maritime anomaly detection tool.
Existing shortest-path algorithms mainly consider a single attribute. But traveler actually chooses a route considering not single attribute but various attributes which are synthesized travel time, route length, personal preference, etc. Therefore, to search the optimal path, these attributes are considered synthetically. In this study route searching algorithm which selects the maximum utility route using discrete choice model has developed in order to consider various attributes. Six elements which affect route choice are chosen for the route choice model and parameters of the models are estimated using survey data. A multinomial logit models are developed to design the function of route choice model. As a result, the model which has route length, delay time, the number of turning as parameter is selected based on the significance test. We use existing shortest path algorithm, which can reflect urban transportation network such as u-turn or p-turn, and apply it to the real network.
This paper proposes an on-demand ad hoc routing protocol, Node Density Based Routing (NDBR), which enhances the routing performance applying a new method to establish alternate patlis. It is important to reserve alternate paths for the route from source to destination in mobile ad hoc networks that are susceptible to failure due to the movement or the power exhaustion of mobile nodes. NDBR aims to establish a route that contains more alternate paths toward the destination by involving intermediate nodes with relatively more adjacent nodes in a possible route, and introduces a new routing criterion called 'node density.' This approach can localize the effects of route failures, and reduce control traffic overhead and route reconfiguration time by enhancing the reachability to the destination node without source-initiated route re-discoveries at route failures. This paper describes the route setup procedure using node density and the route re-configuration procedures employing alternate path information at the intermediate nodes. We show the performance of our routing schemes through a series of simulations using the Network Simulator 2 (ns-2).
Since the ad-hoc network allow nodes to communicate each other without infrastructure system and predefined configuration, it comes into the spotlight that is suitable to ubiquitous society. In ad-hoc network, route recovery mechanism is considered important. Normally route recovery is needed to solve the link failure problem because there is no route maintaining system like a router in ad-hoc networks. In this paper we propose BS-AODV(Bidirectional Searching-AODV) route recovery method. The proposed method is a local repair method that can be applied in all of the network area. Unlike a limited local repair method in AODV. the proposed method adopts the bidirectional searching method where the upstream/downstream nodes can send the route maintenance messages. Restricting the flooding of route request messages, the proposed scheme attempts to minimize the costs of local repair, the performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated through the simulations. In two scenarios which variate the node numbers and node speed, the comparison among the proposed scheme, AODV and AOMDV is shown in terms of the control traffic and data delivery ratio.
One of the major issues in current on-demand routing protocols for ad hoc networks is the high resource consumed by route discovery traffic. In these protocols, flooding is typically used by the source to broadcast a route request (RREQ) packet in search of a route to the destination. Such network-wide flooding potentially disturbs many nodes unnecessarily by querying more nodes than is actually necessary, leading to rapid exhaustion of valuable network resources such as wireless bandwidth and battery power. In this paper, a simple optimization technique for efficient route discovery is proposed. The technique proposed herein is location-based and can be used in conjunction with the existing Location-Aided Routing (LAR) scheme to further reduce the route discovery overhead. A unique feature of our technique not found in LAR and most other protocols is the selective use of unicast instead of broadcast for route request/query transmission made possible by a novel reuse of routing and location information. We refer to this new optimization as the UNIQUE (UNIcast QUEry) technique. This paper studies the efficacy of UNIQUE by applying it to the route discovery of the Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocol. In addition, a comparative study is made with a DSR protocol optimized with only LAR. The results show that UNIQUE could further reduce the overall routing overhead by as much as 58% under highly mobile conditions. With less congestion caused by routing traffic, the data packet delivery performance also improves in terms of end-to-end delay and the number of data packets successfully delivered to their destinations.

Shortest Path Problems are among the most studied network flow optimization problems, with interesting applications in various fields. One such field is the route determination service, where various kinds of shortest path problems need to be solved in location-based service. Our research aim is to propose a route technique in real-time locationbased service (LBS) environments according to user’s route preferences such as shortest, fastest, easiest and so on. Turn costs modeling and computation are important procedures in route planning. There are major two kinds of cost parameters in route planning. One is static cost parameter which can be pre-computed such as distance and number of traffic-lane. The other is dynamic cost parameter which can be computed in run-time such as number of turns and risk of congestion. In this paper, we propose a new cost modeling method for turn costs which are traditionally attached to edges in a graph. Our proposed route determination technique also has an advantage that can provide service interoperability by implementing XML web service for the OpenLS route determination service specification. In addition to, describing the details of our shortest path algorithms, we present a location-based service system by using proposed routing algorithms.

An anatomical understanding of the atrial myocardium is crucial for surgeons and interventionists who treat atrial arrhythmias. We reviewed the anatomy of the inter-nodal and intra-atrial conduction systems. The anterior inter-nodal route (#1) arises from the sinus node and runs through the ventral wall of the atrial chambers. The major branch of route #1 approaches the atrioventricular node from the anterior aspect. Other branches of route #1 are Bachmann's bundle and a vestibular branch around the tricuspid valve. The middle inter-nodal route (#2) begins with a broad span of fibers at the sinus venarum and extends to the superior limbus of the oval fossa. The major branch of route #2 joins with the branch of route #1 at the anterior part of the atrioventricular node. The posterior inter-nodal route (#3) is at the terminal crest and gives rise to many branches at the pectinate muscles of the right atrium and then approaches the posterior atrioventricular node after joining with the vestibular branch of route #1. The branches of the left part of Bachmann's bundle and the branches of the second inter-nodal route form a thin myocardial network at the posterior wall of the left atrium. These anatomical structures could be categorized into major routes and side branches. There are 9 or more anatomical circles in the atrial chambers that could be structural sites for macro re-entry. The implications of normal and abnormal structures of the myocardium for the pathogenesis and treatment of atrial arrhythmias are discussed.

In this paper, an automatic route tracking algorithm using the position variables and the yaw angle of a ship is suggested, Since most autopilot systems paly only a role of course-keeping by integrating the gyrocompass output, they cannot cope with position errors between the desired route and real route of the ship resulted from a drifting and disturbances such as wave, wind and currents during navigation. In order for autopilot systems to track the desired route, a method which can reduce such position errors is required and some algorithms have been proposed[1,2]While such were turned out effective methods, they have a shortage that the rudder control actions for reducing the position errors are occurred very frequently. In order to improve this problem it is necessary to convert that error into the corresponding yaw angle and necessary to treat only yaw angle control problem. To do this a command generation algorithm which converts the rudder angle command reducing the current position error into they yaw angle command is suggested. To control the ship under disturbances and nonlinearities of the ship dynamics, the adaptive fuzzy controller is developed. Finally, through computer simulations for two ship models, the effectiveness of the suggested method and the possibility of the automatic route tracking are assured.
Even though the existing train route controlling method, using track circuits, ensures the sufficient number of operation, it still has problems such as discordance between train numbers which was planned for operating and train numbers being operated on the track, and allowing only one train entering for one route. To solve those problems, we study and develop the Smart train route controlling system which uses the real-time informations of train positions. This system enables improve the coefficient of utilization in a certain train route controlling section, and the safety level of train route controlling, but we should ensure satisfying reliability of data about tracks operated by trains. In addition, there is a need to protect accidents caused by erroneous information of train position, by reflecting changes of tracks, for example maintenance, improvement, expansion of tracks. In this paper, we describes data structure of a developed program which required to change CAD files to wiring diagrams and to generate them to data of tracks. And we show the result that the simulator, using the data structure, controls speed and route of trains without problems.
Recently, the query processing algorithm in spatial network database (SNDB) has attracted many interests. However, there is little research on route-based query processing algorithm in SNDB. Since the moving objects moves only in spatial networks, the route-based algorithm is very useful for LBS and Telematics applications. In this paper, we analyze In-Route Nearest Neighbor (IRNN) query, which is an typical one of route-based queries, and propose a new IRNN query processing algorithm with time constraint. In addition, we show from our performance analysis that our IRNN query processing algorithm with time constraint is better on retrieval performance than the existing IRNN query processing one.
