지형변화의 양적측정에 의한 수치지형모델의 적용 (The Application of Digital Terrain Model with respect to the Quantitative Measurement of the Terrain Roughness)

  • 지형의 변화를 양적으로 표시하는 매개변수-경사도, 곡율, 돌출빈도 및 표면적과 이에 대응하는 평면적의 비-로부터 지형을 분류하고, 이 지형에 따른 적합곡면식을 찾는다. 평탄지형, 완곡지형, 불규척지형을 지형변화양의 변수들에 의해 분류하였고, 평탄지형에는 선형평면식, 완곡지형은 3차 및 5차 곡면식, 그리고 불규칙지형은 5차 곡면식이 적합됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • To analyzed ride quality and to predict durability in vehicle dynamics, it is essential to describe a road surface profile precisely. This paper presents a technique to generate road surface profiles in a spatial domain by using a power spectral density function. A single track power spectral density function is proposed to describe a road surface profile, which is also applicable for multi-track vehicle response analysis, The derived road surfaces are compared to ISO(International Organization for Standardization) standards and classifications, proposed by the MIRA(Motor Industry Research Association). The methodology in this paper is also proposed to generate road roughness description with a limited external data. A small amount of external curve data is combined with an internal PSD function to generate road surface roughness in a spatial domain.

  • This paper deals with the method of determining the drag of hull surface which has any quality of roughness. The method consists mainly of the theoretical point of view, then the theory enables the drag coefficient to be calculated at full scale. The hydrodynamical roughness function of hull surface ${\triangle}U_+$, affected by the hull roughness are considered as to two cases, smooth surface and rough surface case separately. The inadequacy of a single parameter to define hull roughness is discussed and thus an as additional texture parameter is proposed.

  • Reflected light can be decomposed into specular and diffuse components according to the light reflectance theory and experiments. The specular component appears in smooth surfaces mainly, while the diffuse one is visible in rough surfaces mostly. Therefore, each component can be used in forming their correlations to a surface roughness. However, they cannot represent the whole surface roughness seamlessly, because each formulation is merely validated in their available surface roughness regions. To solve this problem, new approaches to properly blend two light components in all regions are proposed in this paper. First is the weighting function method that a blending zone and rate can be flexibly adjusted, and second is the neural network method based on the learning from the measurement data. Simulations based on the light reflectance theory were conducted to examine its performance, and then experiments conducted to prove the enhancement of the measurement accuracy and reliability through the whole surface roughness regions.

  • Effects of surface roughness on bearing performances are investigated numerically in this study, especially for the parallel thrust bearing. Although mating surfaces are parallel and separated by thin fluid film, the pressure distribution is formed due to asperities. Model surface is generated numerically with given autocorrelation function and some surface profile parameters. Then the average Reynolds equation is applied to predict the effects of surface roughness between hydrodynamic and mixed lubrication regimes. In this equation, flow factors are defined as correction terms to smooth out high frequency surface roughness. The correlation length is proposed to get the minimum load for the parallel thrust bearing for various sliding conditions.

원더링 분포를 고려한 도로포장 평탄성 지수의 가중치 산정기법 개발 (Development of Weigh Calculation Method for Pavement Roughness Index Considering Vehicle Wandering Distribution)

  • PURPOSES: This study aims to develop a rational procedure for estimating the pavement roughness index considering vehicle wandering. METHODS : The location analysis of the passing vehicle in the lane was performed by approximately 1.2 million vehicles for verification of the wandering distribution. According to verification result, the distribution follows the normal distribution pattern. The probability density function was estimated using each lane's wandering distribution model. Then the procedure for applying a weighted value into the lane profile was conducted using this function. RESULTS : The modified index, MRIw, with consideration towards applying the wandering weighted value application was computed then compared with MRI. It was found that the Coefficient of Variation for distribution of lateral roughness index in the lane was high in the case of a large difference between each index (i.e., MRIw and MRI) observed. CONCLUSIONS : This result confirms that the new procedure with consideration of the weight factor can successfully improve the lane representative characteristics of the roughness index.

선반작업에서 직교계획법을 이용한 표면 거칠기 예측모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction Model of Surface Roughness by the Orthogonal Design for Turning Process)

  • This paper presents a study of surface roughness prediction model by orthogonal design in turning operation. Regression analysis technique has been used to study the effects of the cutting parameters such as cutting speed, feed depth of cut, and nose radius on surface roughness. An effect of interaction between two parameters on surface roughness has also been investigated. The experiment has been conducted using coated tungsten carbide inserts without cutting fluid. The reliability of the surface roughness model as a function of the cutting parameters has been estimated. The results show that the experimental design used in turning process is a method to estimate the effects of cutting parameters on sur-face roughness.

  • This paper presents a neural network approach to estimate the surface roughness by considering the relationship between the polishing operation parameters and the surface roughness. The neural network model predicts the post-machining surface roughness by using several factors such as pre-machining surface roughness, pressure, feed rate, spindle speed, and the number of polishing as inputs. In this paper, the several neural network models are implemented to estimate the surface roughness by using actual experimental data. The experimental results show that the neural network approach is more appropriate to represent the polishing characteristics of mold and die compared with the results obtained by the approach using exponential function.

제품 표면품질의 확률적 예측 (The Probabilistic Forcasting of Product's Surface Quality)

  • As a general index in surface quality of machined products, surface roughness is to measure worker's skill level, a ground product quality and machining accuracy, etc. The surface roughness is defined by a function of rotational speed and radius of a grinding wheel, distances of active grains composed of the wheel, and feed of a grinder's worktable. To predict surface roughness in horizontal surface grinding operations, probability distributions were used. Probability distribution functions(p.d.f.) of surface roughness were found as results when the size of active grains(=the radius of a grinding wheel) is given as uniform, exponential distribution, and the distance between active grains follows the distributions of uniform, exponential. For each pdf case, probabilistic features of surface roughness were also analyzed and presented. This study is a substantial step for determining mathematically the surface roughness instead of using empirical approaches. More works should be presented to develop a general model by which an accurate roughness value can be obtained in horizontal surface grinding operations.

굴착면 거칠기를 고려한 암반 근입 현장타설말뚝의 주면 하중전이함수 제안 (Shear Load-Transfer Function of Rock-Socketed Drilled Shafts Considering Borehole Roughness)

  • 본 연구에서는 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면하중전이특성을 분석하기 위하여, 주요 영향요소(일축압축강도, 거칠기, 수직강성, 초기구속응력, 재료성질)에 따라 일정수직강성(Constant Normal Stiffness, CNS)조건의 직접전단시험을 수행하였다. 그 결과 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주변하중전이특성을 3구간으로 이상화할 수 있었으며, 각 구간에서의 거동을 지배하는 주요 요소의 영향 및 그에 따른 거동을 파악할 수 있었다. 이를 토대로 암반의 절리 및 풍화상태를 나타내는 GSI(Geological Strength Index)를 이용한 Hoek-Brown 파괴기준(1997)을 적용하여, 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 굴착면 거칠기를 고려한 새로운 주면 하중전이함수를 제안하였다. 제안된 하중전이함수는 기존 7본의 말뚝 재하시험 결과와 비교분석을 수행하였으며, 그 결과 본 제안식이 암반 굴착면의 거칠기 및 암반특성을 적절히 반영함을 알 수 있었다.
