영구자석 Halbach 배열을 이용한 초고속 모터용 계자시스템의 구성과 특성 해석 (Construction and Characteristics Analysis on the Field System of the High Speed Motor by using Permanent Magnet Halbach Array)

  • A high speed motor has been generating a lot of attention due to its performance-more light, thin, short, compact than ordinary motors. But they have low efficiency with high frequency power source because of the iron losses which may produce too much heat as well as the copper losses occurred in the rotor windings. The Halbach array can generate the strong magnetic field systems without additional magnetic materials, therefore the iron losses can be removed. In this paper, the Halbach array is applied to the field system for the high speed motor, and three dimensional FEM is used to analyze the field of the Halbach array considering with the leakage flux. The measured values of flux density are also compared with the FEM analysis. And the magnetic characteristics of the Halbach array field system are compared with those of the conventional field systems such as slot-iron type, PM-iron type. Consequently, it is confirmed that the Halbach array field system is more suitable to the high speed motor because it has high flux density, sinusoidal flux distribution than others.

스팀 터빈용 조합형 엇갈린 래버린스 실의 누설량 및 동특성 해석 (The Leakage and Rotordynamic Analysis of A Combination-Type-Staggered-Labyrinth Seal for A Steam Turbine)

  • Governing equations and numerical solution methods are derived for the analysis of a combination-type-staggered-labyrinth seal used in high performance steam turbines. A bulk flow is assumed for each combination-type-staggered-labyrinth cavity. Axial flow through a throttling labyrinth strip is determined by Neumann's leakage equation and circumferential flow is assumed to be completely turbulent in the labyrinth cavity. Moody's wall-friction-factor formula is used for the calculation of wall shear stresses. For the reaction force developed by the seal, linearized zeroth-order and first-order perturbation equations are developed for small motion near the centered position. Integration of the resultant first-order pressure distribution along and around the seal defines the rotordynamic coefficients of the combination-type-staggered-labyrinth seal. Theoretical results of leakage and rotordynamic characteristics for the IP4-stage seal of USC (ultra super critical) steam turbine are shown with the effect of sump pressure, the number of throttling labyrinth strip, and rotor speed.

  • In recent, the capacity of a commercial wind power has reached the range of 6 MW, with large plants being built world-wide on land and offshore. The rotor blades and the nacelle are exposed to external loads. Wind power system concepts are reviewed, and loadings by wind and gravity as important factors for the mechanical performance of the materials are considered. So, the mechanical properties of fiber composite materials are discussed. Plain woven fabrics Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics (CFRP) are advanced materials which combine the characteristics of the light weight, high stiffness, strength and chemical stability. However, Plain woven CFRP composite have a lot of problems, especially delamination, compared with common materials. Therefore, the aim of this work is to estimate the mechanical properties using the tensile specimen and to evaluate strain using the CNF specimen on plain woven CFRP composites. For the strain, we tried to apply to plain woven CFRP using Digital Image Correlation (DIC) method and strain gauge. DIC method can evaluate a strain change so it can predict a location of fracture.

  • 차별 서비스(Differentiated Service : DS) 네트워크 환경에서 각기 다른 QoS요구를 갖는 흐름들간의 공평성 보장이 주요 이슈중 하나이다. 이는 자원 할당과 트래픽 제어 방식에 따라 종단간에 지원되는 흐름들 간의 서비스 품질 및 백본망의 이용 효율이 크게 달리 질 수 있기 때문이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 링크의 이용효율 제고 및 대역폭의 공평성 향상을 위해 기존에 제안된 Time Sliding Window(TSW) 마킹 알고리즘의 변형인 Time Sliding Two Window Three Color(TS2W3C) 마킹 알고리즘을 제안하고 ns-2 시뮬레이션을 통하여 기존의 알고리즘과 성능을 비교 평가한다.

  • This paper presents Hybrid PI controller of IPMSM drive using fuzzy adaptive mechanism(FAM) control. To increase the robustness, fixed gam PI controller, Hybrid PI controller proposes a new method based self tuning PI controller. Hybrid PI controller is developed to minimize overshoot and settling time following sudden parameter changes such as speed, load torque, inertia, rotor resistance and self inductance. The results on a speed controller of IPMSM are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed gain tuner. And this controller is better than the fixed gains one in terms of robustness, even under great variations of operating conditions and load disturbance.

V/f 스칼라 제어 영구자석 동기 전동기의 안정적 초기 구동 기법 (A Stable Startup Method of V/f Scalar Controlled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors)

  • This study presents a stable start-up strategy for v/f scalar-controlled permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs). The v/f-controlled PMSMs easily lose synchronism under low-speed conditions if an insufficient stator voltage is applied to the machine due to errors in measured motor parameters and inverter nonlinearity, such as inverter dead time and on-state voltage drop. The proposed method adopts the I/f control method to ensure a stable start at low speeds and then switches to the v/f control method at medium speeds. A smooth transition method from I/f control to v/f control is proposed to minimize the oscillation of the stator current and rotor speed during transition. Moreover, the stability of the I/f and v/f control methods is analyzed using a small-signal model. Simulation and experimental results are provided to verify the performance of the proposed control strategy.

  • Recently, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM) drives are widely used for industrial applications due to its high efficiency and high power factor control strategy. PMSM generally have two classifications such as the SPMSM(Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors) and IPMSM(Inter Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors). IPMSA has economical merits over SPMSM in higher speed range, mechanical robustness, and higher power rate by the geometric difference. The maximum torque operation in IPMSM is realized by the current angle control which is to utilize additional reluctance torque due to a rotor saliency. In traction, spindle and compressor drives, constant power operation with higher speed range are desirable. This is simply achieved in the DC motor drives by the reduction of the field current as the speed is increased. However, in the PMSM, direct control of the magnet flux is not available. The airgap flux can be weakened by the appropriate current angle control to demagnetize. In this paper, the control method of optimal current vector in IPMSM is described in order to obtain the maximum torque or maximum output with the speed and load variations. The applied algorithm is realized by the proto system with torque and speed control Experimental results show this approach is satisfied for the high performance servo applications. Design and Simulation of Very Low Head Axial Hydraulic Turbine with Variation of Swirl Velocity Criterion

  • The type of turbine developed is based on the very low head of water potential source for the electric power production. The area of research is focused for the axial water turbine that can be applied at the simple site open channel with has a very low cost and environmental impact compared to the conventional hydro installation. High efficiency of axial turbine which applied to the very low potential head will made this type of turbine can be used at wider potential site. Existing irrigation weir and river area will be the perfect site for this turbine. This paper will compare the effects of the variation of swirl velocity criterion during the design of the blade of guide vane and rotor of the turbine. Effects of the swirl velocity criterion is wider known as a vortex conditions (free vortex, force vortex and swirl velocity constant), and the free vortex is the very popular condition that applied by most of turbine designer, therefore will be interesting to do a comparison against other criterion. ANSYS Fluent will be used for simulation and to determine the predictive performance obtained by each of design criteria.

직류 전동기 속도 제어에서 PI 제어기보다 우수한 퍼지 논리 제어기의 이득 선정을 위한 연구 (A Study on the Gain Tuning of Fuzzy Logic Controller Superior to PI Controller in DC Motor Speed Control)

  • Through a lot of papers, it has been concluded that fuzzy logic controller is superior to PI controller in motor speed control. Although fuzzy logic controller is superior to PI controller in motor speed control, the gain tuning of fuzzy logic controller is more complicated than that of PI controller. In this paper, using mathematical analysis of the PI and fuzzy controller, the design method of the fuzzy controller that has the same characteristics with the PI controller is proposed. After that, we can design the fuzzy controller that has superior performance than PI controller by changing the envelope of input of fuzzy controller to nonlinear, because the fuzzy controller has more degree of freedom to select the control gain than PI controller. The advantage of fuzzy logic controller is shown through mathematical analysis, and the simulation result using Matlab simulink has been proposed to show the effectiveness of these analysis.

고해상도 FMCW 레이더 영상 합성과 CW 신호 분석 실험을 통한 드론의 탐지 및 식별 연구 (Experimental Study of Drone Detection and Classification through FMCW ISAR and CW Micro-Doppler Analysis)

  • There are increasing demands to provide early warning against intruding drones and cope with potential threats. Commercial anti-drone systems are mostly based on simple target detection by radar reflections. In real scenario, however, it becomes essential to obtain drone radar signatures so that hostile targets are recognized in advance. We present experimental test results that micro-Doppler radar signature delivers partial information on multi-rotor platforms and exhibits limited performance in drone recognition and classification. Afterward, we attempt to generate high resolution profile of flying drone targets. To this purpose, wide bands radar signals are employed to carry out inverse synthetic aperture radar(ISAR) imaging against moving drones. Following theoretical analysis, experimental field tests are carried out to acquire real target signals. Our preliminary tests demonstrate that high resolution ISAR imaging provides effective measures to detect and classify multiple drone targets in air.
