The dynamical rotor system is investigated through the derivation and formulations of the dynamic equation of the rotating system in terms of both inertial and fixed frame of the system as well as quaternion. The investigation is aimed at analyzing the dynamical rotating system precession speed. The resulting equations of motion consist of the consistent mass matrix and gyroscopic matrix. The formulation shows its features and difference between its linearity and nonlinearity.
This paper addresses the problem of the modeling and vibration control of tapered rotating blade modeled as thin-walled beams and incorporating damping capabilities. The blade model incorporates non-classical features such as anisotropy, transverse shear, secondary warping and includes the centrifugal and Coriolis force fields. For the rotating blade system, a thorough validation and assessment. of a number of non-classical features including the taper characteristics is accomplished. The damping capabilities are provided by a system of piezoactuators bonded or embedded into the structure and spread over the entire span of the beam. Based on the converse piezoelectric effect, the piezoactuators produce a localized strain field in response to a voltage and consequently, a change of the dynamic response characteristics is induced. A velocity feedback control law relating the piezoelectrically induced transversal bending moment at the beam tip with the appropriately selected kinematical response quantity is used and thebeneficial effects upon the closed-loop dynamic characteristics of the blade are highlighted.
To enhance the effective data transfer rate the multi-beam optical disk drive is presented. The Beam rotating actuator is necessary for putting multi-beam on more than one track. Ray tracing was also executed for real system set-up. The Beam Rotating Actuator is made up of piezoelectric material, high stiffness wire hinge and dove prism. The actuator has about 1kHz natural frequency and suitable and suitable operational range. The dynamic equation for the actuator is derived for the control of real system.
In this paper, a development of shaft power measuring system for a rotating machinery is discussed. It is important that the exact power measurement of marine engine since the engine power is related to ship's usage and its shaft design. The engine equipped on the ship is assumed to rotating machine which can generate mechanical power by electrical energy. Two gearwheel and magnetic sensors are applied to measure torsional angle on the shaft. High resolution encoder is also applied to compensate the output signal from gearwheel. The calculation of shaft power is executed using measured signal and angular velocity of rotating machine.
In this article, 1 would like to explore the estimation method of time-varying voltage sags in large industrial systems considering the short circuit contributions of rotating machines. For the power distribution system of KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation), the magnitude of initial symmetrical short circuit current is generally not changed. However, in industrial systems which contain a number of rotating machines, the magnitude of voltage sag is generally changed from the initial to the clearing time of a fault due to the decreasing contribution of rotating machines for a fault current. The time-varying characteristics of voltage sags can be calculated using a short circuit analysis that is considered the time-varying fault currents. For this, the prediction formulations of time-varying voltage sags are proposed using a foreign standard. The proposed method contains the consideration of generator and motor effects. For the test of proposed formulations, a simple system of industrial consumer is used for the comparison conventional and proposed estimation method of voltage sag characteristics.
A magnetic position sensor is a apparatus that detect the rotating position by measuring the value of the flux density of the rotating position. In this paper, the magnetization system of the permanent magnet in the magnetic position sensor which detects the rotating position was designed. The permanent magnet was magnetized for the flux density into the hole element to be sinusoidal distribution according to the rotating position. To make the sinusoidal distribution of flux density, the magnetization values according to the position in permanent magnet were varied by adjusting the air gap between the pole of the magnetization fixture and the surface of the permanent magnet.
An analytical and experimental investigation is made to the dynamic responese of a cantilever with a tip mass that models some of the basic phenomena involved in the response of a flexible manipulator with a tip mass on its free end under the given rotating motion. The system equation is derived from the Hamilton's principle on the basis of the Euler-Bernoulli hypothesis and an approximate solution is obtained from model analysis using Galerkin's method for the vibation response of the system subjected to a sudden stop after an impulsive rotation. Experiment was performed to verify the validity of the theoretical analysis. Results are given for the vibration amplitude of the free end with respect to tip mass ratio, non-dimensionalized rotating velocity, rotating angle and non- dimensionalized hub length. The rotating condition to minimize the vibration amplitude of the free end can be determined for the given basic paramenters.

A micropump with spiral-type magnetic micromachine was fabricated. When a rotating magnetic field was applied, the machine rotated and pumped a surrounding liquid. We experimentally examined the basic properties of this pump. We found that the pressure and the flow rate could be controlled by the rotating frequency, and this pump could work under wide range kinematic viscosity. In addition, we proposed a disposable pump system using the machine. When a plate installed a fluid channel and the machine was set on a stage for generating a rotating magnetic field, the machine worked as the pump.
This laser measurement system has been developed using He-Ne laser and photodiode. The laser beam intensity transmitted on a photodiode was disturbed by eccentrically rotating disk cam with various speeds. The photodiode and an amplifier were used to change the detected beam intensity into voltage. The digitized data through the developed system were recorded on a micro-computer by using a signal analysis program. Its reliability was ascertained by using FFT analyzer. The vibration of rotating disk cam can be analyzed by measureing the intensity change of laser beam which the results by FFT analyzer were similar to. The amplifier was devised to be able to modulate the fluctuations of laser beam. The voltage could be linearly recorded with the change of the laser beam intensity.
In this paper, the prototype of the HTS motor with an on-board cryocooler, is fabricated and tested. The overall system is composed of the stator with conventional copper winding, the rotor with superconductor, and the rotating cryocooler designed from the on-board concept. The rotor is fabricated as the race-track coil with 2G, YBCO tape and contacts with the on-board cryocooler while being rotated together. An inline-type pulse tube refrigerator is used as the on-board cryocooler. The cryocooler is fabricated from optimal process to satisfy the structure and thermal stability of the on-board system. Each component is integrated according to carefully defined sequence. Specially, a combining method of torque tubes is an important part for sustaining stability of the rotor and the cryocooler. In the rotating test, the HTS motor is successfully operated with 240 rpm of rotating speed when 75 A current is supplied to the superconducting rotor. In this paper, potential problems of the HTS motor system using the on-board cryocooler are proposed and solved, and realistic possibility of this concept is also confirmed.
