An upper-bound method is applied to determine the final-stage extrsuion load and the deformed configuration of extruded billet. A simple kinematically admissible velocity field for trhee-dimensional deformation at final-stage is proposed. From the proposed velocity field the upper-bound extrusion load, the velocity distribution and the configuration of extruded billet are determined byminimizing the otoal power consumption. Experiments are carried out with full-annealed commercial aluminum billets at room temperature by using different sizes of elliptic punches. The theroretical predictions both in extrusion load and deformed configuration of extruded billet are ingood agreements with the experimentalresults.

High temperature uniaxial compression tests in the alpha single phase region were carried out on the Ti -43mo1%Al intermetallic compound, in order to obtain oriented lamellar microstructure. The compression deformation temperatures and strain rates are from 1573k to 1623k and 1.0x10$^{-4}$ s to 5.0x10$^{-3}$ s, respectively. Fully lamellar microstructure was observed after the uniaxial compression deformation in a single phase region followed by cooling to room temperature. Lamellar colony diameter depended on strain rates and test temperatures. The diameter varied between 8601m and 300fm. Stress-strain curve showed a work softening and the size of lamellar colony diameter varied depending on peak stresses. This shows the occurrence of dynamic recrystallization. Texture measurements after the uniaxial compression deformation, showed the development of fiber during dynamic recrystallization. It is seen that the area for the maximum pole density existed in 35 degrees away from the compression plane. The texture sharpens with a decrease in strain rate

The purpose of this study is to analyze the indoor temperature distribution of a room controlled by a personal and portable cooler. As an energy saving strategy, the personal air-conditioning or task conditioning system was developed and installed in office buildings in the 90 s. Many research results regarding the personal air-conditioning (PAC) system were focused on thermal comfort, localized ventilation efficiency and energy savings. However, the conventional PACs were only developed for application in office buildings. In this study, as a type of PAC, a portable cooler was analyzed in terms of indoor temperature distribution changes with the passage of time. The measurement was performed in a bedroom in an apartment house. The results showed that indoor temperature was controlled at about $24^{\circ}C$ around the human body. However, the ambient zone up to 1.5 m away from the the human body stayed at about $27.5^{\circ}C$.

In automotive air handling system, mixing of air streams by the cooler and the heater affects the comfort of cabin room. In the present study, computer-aided analysis is done to improve the thermal comfort and for the optimal design of automotive HVAC system. The simulation software used was FLUENT, and complicate geometries were created by three dimensional CAD. Air flow volume, fir distribution rate and temperature controllability and temperature differences between upper and lower discharge air are analyzed through numerical simulation at vent, floor and defrost mode. Also, velocity vector of sirocco fan is investigated through the scroll housing. The velocity vector magnitude is larger at lower region of fan than that at any other regions. Recirculation and disturbance of air is relatively high near the cut-off edge in the scroll housing. By using the results of this study, the time for prototype production can be reduced and timely decisions can be made to determine initial design directions.
This study is aimed to increase the activity of cathodic catalysts for PEMFCs(Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells). we investigated the temperature effect of 20wt% Pt/C catalysts at five different temperatures. The catalysts were synthesized by using chemical reduction method. Before adding the formaldehyde as reducing agent, process was undergone for 2 hours at the room temperature (RT), $40^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$, $80^{\circ}C$ and $100^{\circ}C$, respectively. The performances of synthesize catalysts are compared. The electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) was studied on 20wt% Pt/C catalysts by using a glassy carbon electrode through cyclic voltammetric curves (CV) in a 1M H2SO4 solution. The ORR specific activities of 20wt% Pt/C catalysts increased to give a relative ORR catalytic activity ordering of $80^{\circ}C$ > $100^{\circ}C$ > $60^{\circ}C$ > $40^{\circ}C$ > RT. Electrochemical active surface area (EAS) was calculated with cyclic voltammetry analysis. Prepared Pt/C (at $80^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$) catalysts has higher ESA than other catalysts. Physical characterization was made by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The TEM images of the carbon supported platinum electrocatalysts ($80^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$) showed homogenous particle distribution with particle size of about 2~3.5 nm. We found that a higher reaction temperature resulted in more uniform particle distribution than lower reaction temperature and then the XRD results showed that the crystalline structure of the synthesized catalysts are seen FCC structure.
This study was conducted to estimate the safety level of non-cooking and cooking processed foods to propose the sanitary management of foods donated to foodbanks. The time and temperature were measured and the microbial levels of aerobic plate counts (APC), coliforms, E. coli, Salmonella spp., S. aureus, B. cereus, and E. coli O157:H7 were analyzed on ten food items donated to seven foodbanks. The amount of cooked foods donated to each foodbank was about 10 to 40 servings. All foodbanks hired a supervisor and had at least one refrigerator/freezer and one temperature-controlled vehicle, but only four foodbanks had the separate offices to manage the foodbank operation. The flow of donated foods was gone through the steps; production, meal service and holding at donator, collection by foodbank, transport (or holding after transport) and distribution to recipients. After production, the levels of APC of both non-cooking and cooking processed foods were complied with the standards by Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development, and were not increased till distribution. Only the level of coliforms in dried squid & cucumber salad (1.5×$10^3$ CFU/g) was not met the standards. E. coli and other pathogens were not detected in all tested samples. The microbial levels of delivery vessels and work tables were satisfactory, but the APC levels of two of four tested serving tables (6.9×$10^3$ and 5.3×$10^3$ CFU/100$cm^2$) and the coliforms level of one (1.1×$10^3$ CFU/100$cm^2$) were over the standards. The air-borne microflora level in serving room was estimated as satisfactory. It took about 3.0 to 6.5 hours from after-production to distribution and the temperatures of donated foods were exposed mostly to temperature danger zone, which had a high potential of microbial growth. These results imply that a checklist to monitor time and temperature in each step should be provided and the employees involving foodbank operation should be properly educated to ensure the safety of donated foods.
This study was carried out to investigate the microbiological contamination levels of Dutch coffee products marketed in Korea. The temperature conditions during distribution and storage were also considered in this experiment. Retailed Dutch coffee were purchased from regional cafes, that is, these were self-blended by the cafes, and the marketed products were purchased from department stores and from Internet sites. The 21 samples were blended in a coffee house and 9 were obtained from department stores or were delivered from internet sites. House blended Dutch coffee contained $35.2{\pm}15.8CFU/mL$ of general bacteria, and this increased to $78.4{\pm}29.7CFU/mL$ at room temperature or $51.2{\pm}32.1CFU/mL$ after refrigeration for 5 days. These almost reached the highest criteria level for the Korea Food Sanitation Law. After 10 days, the count increased to $98.5{\pm}58.4CFU/mL$ at room temperature and $86.7{\pm}44.2CFU/mL$ at refrigeration temperature. In the Dutch coffee for distribution, $39.6{\pm}20.1CFU/mL$ of general bacteria were detected, but these did not increase after 5 days or 10 days both for room temperature and under refrigeration. The Coliform group was not found in any kind of Dutch coffee, and Fungi was founded in 60% of the Dutch samples purchased in coffee houses, department stores, and shopping sites mall. On day 0 day, $2.6{\pm}1.7CFU/mL$ of fungi were detected in the coffee house Dutch, and it did not increase significantly during the storage period at room and in a cold temperature. $3.5{\pm}3.4CFU/mL$ of fungi were detected in the Dutch coffee for distribution, and it didn't increase during further storage under any temperature.
This paper has been conducted to estimate cooling capacity of the dehumidification tower using hot water from a solar water heating system as a energy source of regeneration process when the dehumidification and drying system is applied to room cooling. A solar water heating system was operated and indoor temperature distributions were simulated according to weather conditions when the concerned solution was used to dehumidify room air in the dehumidification tower. Through this simulation researches we found th following results ; It was found that air velocity through supply and return diffusers should be controlled because it can cause uncomfort in dwelling area. It was found that in the sunny morning temperatures of dwelling area 1 and 2 are higher than those of dwelling area 3 and 4. In this research all the calculation results of heating and cooling system supported by solar water heater have confirmed that its cooling capacity could not reach PMV 0, thermal comfort.
