곡가공을 위한 변곡 곡면의 판정 (Determination of plates with inflection lines for hull plate forming)

  • Hull plate consists of various types of curved plates and there also exists corresponding processing methods. Typically, curved plates can be divided into convex type and saddle type. Large amount of research has been conducted mainly focusing on application of processing method of convex type, saddle type and hybrid type, but research on determination and processing method application of the most difficult S-shaped curved plate that has inflection lines has not been carried out yet. In this paper, as the fundamental research of appropriate processing method application, a calculation method is proposed to calculate inflection lines on curved plates. In order to calculate inflection lines, normal curvature and information of fabricated curved plates should be utilized. We compare the workability of the fabrication for hull plate using inflection line.

  • In this study. problems caused during production process of stainless steel carbody are investigated and solutions are found out. Roll forming process to make complex shape is introduced and surface crack on high strength stainless steel plate is investigated. Also, surface indentation is discussed and the effect of welding condition is clarified. Insulated tip to reduce the indentation is recommended for improvement of surface smoothness. Lastly. corrosion of welded joint is discussed and the effects of material, stress and environment are investigated.

Roll bending machine에 의한 선체외판의 곡면가공 해석 (Analysis of Ship Hull Plate Bending By Roll Bending Machine)

  • 선체 외관을 이루는 판부재 중에서 일차곡만을 가진 부품은 피라미드 형의 롤러 굽힘장치를 이용하여 제작한다. 일차곡 부재를 생산하기 위한 공정에서 가장 중요한 작업 변수는 중앙 롤러의 수직변위값이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 굽힘 현상을 보의 탄소성 굽힘현상으로 모델링하여 해석해를 구하였으며, 엄밀한 역학적 이해를 위하여 유한요소해석법을 이용하여 굽힘현상을 해석하였다. 해석을 통하여 일정한 굽힘 곡률을 얻기 위한 중앙 롤러의 수직변위 값을 계산하였으며, 유한요소해석법은 보 요소와 평면변형율 요소를 이용하여 모델링하고 각각의 경우에 대한 해석을 수행하였으며 이 결과를 해석해와 비교하였다. 계산을 통하여 판에 가해야 할 굽힘곡률과 중앙롤러의 수직변위 사이의 관계를 도출하였으며 일차곡가공의 중요한 작업변수인 중앙롤러의 수직변위와 잔류곡률상의 관계를 수치 데이터로써 정식화 하였다.

페라이트계 스테인리스강을 사용한 다층형 벨로우즈 개발 (Development of Multi-layer Bellows using Ferritic Stainless Steel)

  • Ferritic stainless steel is used for parts of exhaust system of commercial vehicle, because it has such advantages as low price and high corrosion resistant compared with austenite stainless steel. Even though ferritic stainless steel has these merits, to manufacture multi-layer bellows with complex geometry, austenite stainless steel is being used in the industry, because of it's high ductility. However, recently, the mechanical property of the ferritic stainless is getting improved and alternating austenitic stainless steel. In this paper, the possibility of mass production of bellows made of ferritic stainless steel like MH1 and 443CT is studied. Tensile test and ridging test are carried out to observe mechanical properties of STS304, MH1 and 443CT. Forming analysis using FEM is performed to investigate plastic strain during forming process. Prototype bellows has been made using STS304, MH1 and 443CT, respectively, and fatigue tests are carried out to evaluate fatigue life of bellows.

Excellent Seam Weldable Nano-Composite Coated Zn-Ni Plating Steels for Automotive Fuel Tank

  • Steels for automotive fuel tank require unique properties such as corrosion resistance for fuel, welding for joining, forming for press, and painting for exterior. Recently, automakers have been requiring excellent seam weldable steels to enhance manufacturing productivity of fuel tank. Thus, POSCO developed a new type of functional steels coated with nano-composite thin layer on Zn-Ni plating steels. The nano-composite coating solution was prepared by mechanical fine dispersion of solutions consisting of polymeric resin and nano-composite materials in aqueous media. The composite solution was coated on the plating steel surface by using roll coater and cured through induction furnace. These new developed plating steels were evaluated for quality performances such as seam and spot weldability, press formability, and corrosion resistance. These new functional steels coated with nano-composite layer exhibited excellent seam weldability and press formability. Detailed discussion of coating solution and experimental results suggest that nano-sized composite dispersion as coating layer plays a key role in enhancing the quality performance.

인쇄전자 기술을 이용한 유기 태양전지 기술 개발 (Development of the Organic Solar Cell Technology using Printed Electronics)

  • PEMS (printed electro-mechanical system) is fabricated by means of various printing technologies. Passive and active compo-nents in 2D or 3D such as conducting lines, resistors, capacitors, inductors and TFT(Thin Film Transistor), which are printed withfunctional materials, can be classified in this category. And the issue of PEMS is applied to a R2R process in the manu-facturing process. In many electro-devices, the vacuum process is used as the manufacturing process. However, the vacuum process has a problem, it is difficult to apply to a continuous process such as a R2R(roll to roll) printing process. In this paper, we propose an ESD (electro static deposition) printing process has been used to apply an organic solar cell of thin film forming. ESD is a method of liquid atomization by electrical forces, an electrostatic atomizer sprays micro-drops from the solution injected into the capillary with electrostatic force generated by electric potential of about several tens kV. ESD method is usable in the thin film coating process of organic materials and continuous process as a R2R manufacturing process. Therefore, we experiment the thin films forming of PEDOT:PSS layer and active layer which consist of the P3HT:PCBM. The organic solar cell based on a P3HT/PCBM active layer and a PEDOT:PSS electron blocking layer prepared from ESD method shows solar-to-electrical conversion efficiency of 1.42% at AM 1.5G 1sun light illumination, while 1.86% efficiency is observed when the ESD deposition of P3HT/PCBM is performed on a spin-coated PEDOT:PSS layer.

압연 클래드된 Ti/Mild steel/Ti 재의 계면확산층과 접합력에 미치는 후열처리온도의 영향 (Effect of Post Heat Treatment Temperature on Interface Diffusion Layer and Bonding Force in Roll Cladded Ti/Mild steel/Ti Material)

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of post heat treatment on bonding properties of roll cladded Ti/MS/Ti materials. First grade Ti sheets and SPCC mild steel sheets were prepared and then Ti/MS/Ti clad materials were fabricated by a cold rolling and post heat treatment process. Microstructure and point analysis of the Ti/MS interfaces were performed using the SEM and EDX Analyser. Diffusion bonding was observed at the interfaces of Ti/MS. The thickness of the diffusion layer increased with post heat treatment temperature and the diffusion layer was verified as having $({\epsilon}+{\zeta})+({\zeta}+{\beta}-Ti)$ intermetallic compounds at $700^{\circ}C$ and an $({\zeta}+{\beta}-Ti)$ intermetallic compound at $800^{\circ}C$, respectively. The micro Knoop hardness of mild steel decreased with post heat treatment temperature; however, those of Ti decreased at a range of $500{\sim}600^{\circ}C$ and showed a uniform value until $800^{\circ}C$ and then increased rapidly up to $900^{\circ}C$. The micro Knoop hardness value of the diffusion layer increased up to $700^{\circ}C$ and then saturated with post heat treatment. A T-type peel test was used to estimate the bonding forces of Ti/Mild steel interfaces. The bonding forces decreased up to $800^{\circ}C$ and then increased slightly with post heat treatment. The optimized temperature ranges for post heat treatment were $500{\sim}600^{\circ}C$ to obtain the proper formability for an additional plastic deformation process.
