전조공법을 이용한 동관의 하이핀 튜브 제조 공정에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Manufacturing Process for High-finned Tube of Copper Pipe using Roll Forming Method)

  • High-finned tubes have good thermal conductivity and have better cooling efficiency than plain tubes or low-fined tubes due to bigger air contact area. During high-fined tubes are manufactured by roll forming, the main technique is illustrated to optimizing primary material(copper pipe), optimized die matrix designing technique for roll forming, control manufacturing speed to develop productivity etc. In this study, a roll forming system was developed in oder to produce high-finned tube. Also a multi-step roll forming die was designed & built to produce high-finned tube that has over 10 mm fin height. And then, roll forming test using copper pipe was performed to produce high-finned tube. Roll forming process for producing highfinned tube was optimized by analyzing and adjusting misrostructure, hardness, and surface roughness of roll formed high-fined tube.

  • The temperature distribution over the work roll length was estimated by solving a 2-dimensional heat transfer equation based on the rolling conditions and the thermal boundary conditions. In order to solve the governing equation, a finite volume method was employed. In the rolling conditions, the strip temperature, the contact time between roll and strip, the roll speed, the strip thickness, the rolling force and the rolling and idling time were used as input data. In order to verify the accuracy of temperature estimation, roll surface temperatures were measured in the roll shop. The measured temperatures showed a good correlation with the calculated ones.

차륜-레일 구름접촉을 적용한 철도차량 유한요소 모델의 충돌 기인 탈선거동 해석 (Collision-induced Derailment Analysis of a Finite Element Model of Rolling Stock Applying Rolling Contacts for Wheel-rail Interaction)

  • In this paper, a finite element analysis technique of rolling stock models for collision-induced derailments was suggested using rolling contacts for wheel-rail interaction. The collision-induced derailments of rolling stock can be categorized into two patterns of wheel-climb and wheel-lift according to the friction direction between wheel flange and rail. The wheel-climb derailment types are classified as Climb-up, Climb/roll-over and Roll-over-C types, and the wheel-lift derailment types as Slip-up, Slip/roll-over and Roll-over-L types. To verify the rolling contact simulations for wheel-rail interaction, dynamic simulations of a single wheelset using Recurdyn of Functionbay and Ls-Dyna of LSTC were performed and compared for the 6-typical derailments. The collision-induced derailment simulation of the finite element model of KHST (Korean High Speed Train) was conducted and verified using the theoretical predictions of a simplified wheel-set model proposed for each derailment type.

  • This paper presents dynamics of register error on a compensator roll type converting machine. Though a register control is an important aspect of a converting machine, it has not been taken into account as a main subject. Lately, demands for high speed converting machines over 500mpm(m/min) are raising but domestic converting industries can not come up with the high speed machines because capacities fur designing of the converting machine is restricted lower than 300mpm. Moreover register control is the key to product flexible displays through roll-to-roll systems. In this paper, a compensator roll type register controller is analyzed using mathematical model of register error. A case study for reducing transient register errors is discussed.

An overview of the prediction methods for roll damping of ships

  • Of all the six degrees of freedom, the roll motion of a ship is the most poorly understood and displays complicated phenomena. Due to the low potential wave damping at the natural frequency, the effective analysis of ship roll dynamics comes down to the accurate estimation of the viscous roll damping. This paper provides overview of the importance of roll damping and an extensive literature review of the various viscous roll damping prediction methods applied by researchers over the years. The paper also discusses in detail the current state of the art estimation of viscous roll damping for ship shaped structures. A computer code is developed based on this method and its results are compared with experimental data to demonstrate the accuracy of the method. While some of the key references describing this method are not available in English, some others have been found to contain typographic errors. The objective of this paper is to provide a comprehensive summary of the state of the art method in one place for future reference.

롤 회전하는 3축 초음파 풍속계를 활용한 풍향 풍속 측정기법(II) (Technique of Measuring Wind Speed and Direction by Using a Roll-rotating Three-Axis Ultrasonic Anemometer (II))

  • In a previous study, a technique for measuring wind speed and direction by using a roll-rotating three-axis ultrasonic anemometer was proposed and verified by wind tunnel tests. In the tests, instead of a roll sensor, roll angle was trimmed to make no up flow in the transformed wind speeds. Verification was done in point of the residual error of the rotation effect treatment. In this study, roll angle was measured from the roll motor encoder and the transformed wind speed and direction on the test section axis were compared with the ones provided to the test section. As a result, up to yaw $20^{\circ}$ at a wind speed of 12 m/sec or over, the RMS error of wind speed was within the double of the ultrasonic anemometer error. But at yaw $30^{\circ}$, it was over the double of the ultrasonic anemometer error. Regardless of wind speed, at yaw $20^{\circ}$ and $30^{\circ}$, the direction error was within the double of the ultrasonic anemometer error. But at yaw $10^{\circ}$ or less, it was within the error of the ultrasonic anemometer itself. This is a very favorable characteristic to be used for wind turbine yaw control.

GDI Fuel Rail 제조를 위한 멀티 롤 다이 인발 공정 설계 (Process Design for Multi Roll-Die Drawing of GDI Fuel Rail)

  • GDI fuel rail is component of GDI system which directly fuel with high pressure in the engine combustion chamber. And it is required to high strength and dimensional accuracy. Multi roll-die drawing process consists of the idle roll-die and drawing die in tandem. In the course of drawing with roll-die, deformation takes place between the idle roller pair or pairs. The friction force decreases with the idle roll-die, enabling the reductions to be risen in one step. In this study, the caliber of 4-roll was designed into pass schedule that made the draw force at the exit of the drawing die be equal. In order to compensate for over-filling area, the roll caliber was modified using the result of FE-analysis. The results of FE-analysis and experiment show that the proposed design method can be used to effectively design the multi roll-die process, leading to an accurate shape and correct dimensions of the final within an allowable tolerance of ${\pm}0.08mm$. Furthermore, the productivity was evaluated by comparing with multi roll-die drawing process and conventional multi shape drawing process. The result was confirmed that it has an efficiency of about 2 times than conventional process in terms of time.

  • The roll forming process is often used to manufacture long, thin-walled products such as a pipe. The final cross-section is a comparatively simple open-channel, a closed tube section or a complex profile with several bends. In recent years, that process is often applied to the bumper beam in the automotive industries. In this study, a optimal Center Floor Cross Member manufacturing technology, model deign and proper roll-pass sequences can be suggested by forming number of roll-pass and bending angle, and also effects of the process parameters on the final shape formed by roll forming defects were evaluated.

  • In roll forming process, a sheet metal is continuously progressively formed into a product with required cross-section and longitudinal shape, such as a circular tube with required diameter, wall-thickness and straightness, by passing through a series of forming rolls in arranged in tandem. In this process, each pair of forming rolls installed in a forming machine play a particular role in making up the required cross-section and longitudinal shape of the product. In recent years, that process is often applied to the bumper rail in the automotive industries. In this study, a optimal SILL SIDE manufacturing technology, model deign and proper roll-pass sequences can be suggested by forming number of roll-pass and bending angle. And also effects of the process parameters on the final shape formed by roll forming defects were evaluated.

Parametric roll of container ships in head waves

  • Analysis of ship parametric roll has generally been restricted to simple analytical models and sophisticated time domain simulations. Simple analytical models do not capture all the critical dynamics while time-domain simulations are often time consuming to implement. The model presented in this paper captures the essential dynamics of the system without over simplification. This work incorporates various important aspects of the system and assesses the significance of including or ignoring these aspects. Special consideration is given to the fact that a hull form asymmetric about the design waterline would not lead to a perfectly harmonic variation in metacentric height. Many of the previous works on parametric roll make the assumption of linearized and harmonic behaviour of the time-varying restoring arm or metacentric height. This assumption enables modelling the roll motion as a Mathieu equation. This paper provides a critical assessment of this assumption and suggests modelling the roll motion as a Hills equation. Also the effects of non-linear damping are included to evaluate its effect on the bounded parametric roll amplitude in a simplified manner.
