Postural Control in Brain Damage Patients According to Moving Surround (뇌기능 장애 환자의 가상영상(Moving Sorround) 자극에 따른 자세 균형 제어)

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the ability of balance control in moving surround using head mount device and force platform and to examine the clinical usefulness of COP parameters. Fifteen patients with stroke and healthy persons were participated. COP parameters were obtained as total path distance, frequency of anterior-posterior and medial-lateral component by FFT analysis, weight-spectrum analysis in the two different conditions; (1) in comfortable standing with opened or closed eyes, (2) in virtual moving surround delivered using HMD to four different moving pattern. In virtual moving surround setting, moving pattern was composed of close-far, superior-inferior tilting(pitch), right-left tilting(roll) and horizontal rotation(yaw) movement. In all parameters, the reliebility of COP analysis system was significantly high. Quality characteristics of Tteokbokki (Rice Cake) depending on cultivars and particle sizes of dry-milling rice flour

  • This study was examined to establish a conditions for producing Tteokbokki using dry-milling rice flour which can save manpower and labor time. Since the cost of producing rice flour milled in a wet condition is 500 to 700 won/kg, which is more than twice as much as that of 300 won wheat flour, it is necessary to directly make rice flour from raw rice. The dry-milling rice flour used in the experiment was produced by Air mill (Nara machinary co. ltd., Tokyo, Japan) from 5 rice cultivars (Samkwang, Dasan-1, Boramchan, Seolgaeng, Hanareum-2), which were cultivated in A-san in 2015 year. Their particle sizes were 50, 100 and $150{\mu}m$ for each cultivar, respectively. A control was a wet-milled rice flour milled with a roll mill after the rice was soaked in water for 4 hours. The moisture content of dry-milling rice flour based on cultivars was 11 ~ 12%, and added water up to 50~55% of dry-milling rice flour weight. The RVA characteristic of peak viscosity was the highest in Dasan-1 and Hanareum-2, the lowest in Seolgaeng. The setback value used as an indicator of aging was the highest in Dasan-1, therefore Dasan-1 was expected to be quick solidification, resulting in the low tendency of sensory evaluation. The damaged starch was high in Dasan-1 and Boramchan (p<0.05) compared to others. The Hunter color L were no significant among cultivars and b value increased in all cultivars of dry-milling rice flour compared with control. The hardness of dry-milling rice flour was higher than that of the control, especially Dasan-1 and Hanareum-2 were the highest. Based on the sensory evaluation, the best cultivars were Boramchan, Hanareum-2 and Samkwang. The overall preference of dry-milling rice flour was good in particle size of 50~100um.

Electromyographic Activities of Lower Leg Muscles During Static Balance Control in Normal Adults (정상성인에서 정적 균형 제어 시 다양한 조건에 따른 하퇴 근육 활성도의 특성)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation and characteristics between electromyographic (EMG) activities of lower leg muscles and the posturographic assessment of static balance control in normal adults. Twenty-four young, healthy adults(12 males, 12 females) participated in the study. Center of pressure (COP) parameters were obtained using force platform as total path distance, total sway area, X mean frequency and Y mean frequency for 20 seconds in the following conditions: (1) comfortable standing with eyes opened or closed, (2) uncomfortable standing (feet together) with eyes opened or closed, (3) virtual moving surround delivered using Head mount display (HMD) with four different moving patterns. The virtual moving patterns consisted of close-far, superior-inferior tilting (pitch), right-left tilting (roll), and horizontal rotation (yaw) movements. Surface electromyographic activites were recorded on the tibialis anterior, peroneus longus, medial and lateral heads of gastrocnemius muscles under each condition. Correlation between the posturographic measures and EMG activities were evaluated. Total path distance and total sway area of COP were significantly increased during uncomfortable standing. EMG activity of tibialis anterior was significantly more during uncomfortable standing and virtual moving surround stimulation than during comfortable standing. Total path distance and sway area of COP during comfortable standing with closed eyes showed significant positive correlation with the EMG activities of the lateral head of gastrocnemius muscle.   • This paper addresses a newly proposed start-up method of the HAUSAT-2 momentum wheel. The HAUSAT-2 is a 25kg class nanosatellite which is stabilized to earth pointing by 3-axis active control method. A momentum wheel performs two functions. It provides a pitch-axis momentum bias while measuring satellite pitch and roll attitude. Pitch control is accomplished in the conventional way by driving a momentum wheel in response to pitch attitude errors. Precession control and nutation damping are provided by driving the pitch axis magnetic torquer. A momentum wheel is nominally spinning at a particular rate and changes speed. This simulation study investigates the feasibility and performance of a proposed strategy for starting-up the wheel. A proposed strategy to start-up the wheel shows that a pitch momentum wheel can be successfully started-up to its nominal speed from rest and be stabilized to nadir pointing.

  • Many articles have been published about a 2-degree of freedom model that includes the lateral and yaw motions for controller synthesis in intelligent transport system applications. In this paper, a 3-degree of freedom linear model that includes the roll motion is developed to design a robust steering controller for lane following maneuvers using ${\mu}$-synthesis. This linear perturbed system includes a set of parametric uncertainties in cornering stiffness and unmodelled dynamics in steering actuators. The state-space model with parametric uncertainties is represented in linear fractional transformation form. Design purpose can be obtained by properly choosing the frequency dependent weighting functions. The objective of this study is to keep the tracking error and steering input energy small in the presence of variations of the cornering stiffness coefficients. Furthermore, good ride quality has to be achieved against these uncertainties. Frequency-domain analyses and time-domain numerical simulations are carried out in order to evaluate these performance specifications of a given vehicle system. Finally, the simulation results indicate that the proposed robust controller achieves good performance over a wide range of uncertainty for the given maneuvers.

  • The purpose of this study is to make suggestions for the infectious disease surveillance systems as part of the government's healthcare policy intended to minimize damage by implementing an appropriate and swift crisis management in the event of future infectious disease outbreaks. To that end, this descriptive study analyzes the infectious disease outbreaks and the management and control thereof in Korea and other countries, so as to suggest some approaches to infectious disease surveillance systems applicable to affected regions. The analysis results shed light on the causes of the spread of future infectious diseases over the past years, and the management systems that could possibly deal with the trial and error in the response policy. It seems crucial to roll out appropriate information, training and promotion programs as part of the national disaster response systems to prevent infectious diseases in relation to the roles of multiple relevant government agencies in the event of disasters especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • This paper presents polar converting logic(PCL) of BTT missiles against slowly moving or stationary targets. A guidance commands expressed in rectangular coordinates must be converted in the form of polar coordinates for BTT control. Since conventional PCL has nonlinear and discontinuous function, the missiles may lose controllability when pitch acceleration command equals to zero. Further, roll coupling may have a serious unstabilizing influence on homing guidance with two gimbals seeker. In this paper, a linear homotopy equation is introduced to improve the controllability and a command following performance at midcourse phase. We also design a PCL which is less sensitive to pitch acceleration command so that it may improve the stability of the homing loop. To substantiate our conclusion, results of the computer simulation have been illustrated.

Effects of Washing and Desinewing Treatments on the Composition and Quality Characteristics of Spent Layer Meat (세척 및 결체조직 제거 처리가 노계육의 성분 및 품질 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of washing and desinewing on the composition, fuctional properties, storage stability and texture of spent layer meat were investigated. Spent layer meat subjected to treatments involving water washing, bicarbonate washing and desinewing showed increases in moisture content and decreases in protein content, hydroxyproline content and heme pigment content. Increases in salt extractable protein content and water holding capacity and decreases in buffering capacity and emulsifying capacity were also observed. The 2-thiobarbituric acid values of washed and desinewed samples increased slowly during storage indicated the increase in storage stability compared to the control. Sample rolls prepared from bicarbonate washed and desinewed thigh and drumstick meats were scored by trained sensory panelists as less tough than the products made of ground thigh and drumstick meats.

Autonomous Formation Flight Tests of Multiple UAVs (다수 무인항공기의 자동 편대비행 시험)

  • In this work, autonomous formation flight tests of multiple UAVs are experimentally studied. After a guidance and control system for a UAV is designed and tested, PID formation controller for follower UAV is tested using longitudinal and lateral distance feedback. It is shown that more stable and efficient formation guidance system is obtained by using position and attitude of the leader aircraft, which is exploited to calculate virtual waypoint for follower. In order to improve transient response during turn, part of roll command of the leader is added to the guidance command. Finally, autonomous formation flight test results of 3 UAVs are shown by using the best guidance algorithm suggested.

  • In this paper, a novel type of an integrated controller is designed for vehicles equipped with active classis systems to improve vehicle stability, handling, and ride comfort. The hybrid fuzzy logic controller consists of a fuzzy logic controller, a skyhook controller, an attitude controller, and a roll moment distribution controller, and these controllers are used with a proper combination which is determined by the integrated control logic based on driving conditions of a vehicle. It is shown by simulations using MATRIXx/SYSTEMBBUILD software that ride comfort, handling, and active safety are improved for a 16 degree-of-freedom vehicle dynamic model.
