  • In design education enhancement of design methodology and creativity can be stimulated through taking on several creative roles within an interactive and enjoyable studio course. To overcome blocks to creativity I developed a intermediate course, 'Furniture Design Studio I' at the sophomore advanced level course. Inventive thinking and a sense of aesthetic are the essential element for all studnets to grow as a professional designer. And to develop their creative thinking skill I introduced a system that utilizes each element into a role-playing type of projects. Students will be able to demonstrate their underlying creativity in a more open environment. Instead of stressing to solve a lot of complicate issues, the main focus is to allow freedom of expression and creativity. Role-playing are executed in a design studio environment rather than in a psychodrama situation. There are two different type of role-playing : Inventor and Designist (Designer + Artist). Students will be able to work in groups, incorporate problem solving into their projects and concentrate on more personal creative form developments. Through this process, students will enhance their problem solving abilities and broaden their scope for innovation. Thus increases the student's participation and creativity. Investigating the problems of domestic design education through these sort of special programs and developing systems that enhance creativity based on the results and the process methods.

  • This study attempt to test not only the impact of leadership(second-level supervisor's ethical leadership, immediate supervisor's transformational leadership) on followers' proactive behavior, but also the effect second-level supervisor's ethical leadership on leader's transformational leadership(i.e. TL). In particular, immediate supervisor's TL is explored as a mediating variable in the relationship between second-level supervisor's ethical leadership and followers' proactive behavior. The summary of the hierarchical regression analyses results was as follows: First, the paper showed that second-level supervisor's moral behavior was positively related to immediate supervisor's TL. But behavioral integrity and consistency across contexts was not found to play a unique role in predicting immediate supervisor's TL. Second, second-level supervisor's moral behavior was a positive impact on employee' taking charge behavior and helping behavior. and behavioral integrity was a positive impact on employee' taking charge behavior. But consistency across contexts was not found to play a unique role in predicting proactive behavior. Third, immediate supervisor's TL was a positive impact on employee' taking charge behavior and helping behavior. Finally, the effects of second-level supervisor's moral behavior on employee' proactive behavior were mediated by immediate supervisor's TL. Theoretical and practical implications of our findings as well as directions for future research are provided.

  • Common theories of affect underscore valence and arousal dimensions or specific emotion. However, given the role of affect in transacting social behavior, sociality may determine the subjective experience and interpersonal response to positive stimuli. The current study examined the relationships between social positive affect and perspective taking as well as positive coping. One potential moderating effect of agreeableness on these relations was also examined. In two experiments, film segments induced socially and non-socially generated positive affects. We hypothesized and found that positive affect associated with sociality would enhance perspective taking ability and positive coping, while non-social positive affect would not. Moreover, these effects varied as a function of the level of agreeableness. These findings suggest that the social/non-social dimension influenced which positive affects elicited perspective taking and positive coping, which could not be explained by differences in subjective emotional valence or arousal. Taken together, these findings have important implications, as they point toward a previously overlooked relation linking sociality to positive affect.

  • This study seeks to verify how empathic concern and perspective-taking predict happiness by investigating the mediating effects of cognitive reappraisal. Online surveys about empathic concern, perspective-taking, cognitive reappraisal, and happiness were conducted by 336 adult subjects. First, the correlation analysis indicated that empathic concern and perspective-taking significantly predicted cognitive reappraisal and happiness, respectively. Second, cognitive reappraisal also significantly predicted happiness. Third, the cognitive reappraisal mediated the association between empathic concern and happiness and between perspective-taking and happiness. Specifically, people who emotionally and cognitively empathize with others reported higher levels of cognitive reappraisal, which allowed them to experience higher levels of happiness. These findings have confirmed that people can increase their happiness by enhancing cognitive reappraisal through emotional and cognitive empathy. Finally, the implications and limitations of the present research are discussed.

Professional working mothers' individual characters family and occupational conditions are more suitable than non-professionals for the coping behaviors. And such individual and situational aspects may relate to the differences of coping behaviors of he two groups. In general professional working mothers use coping behaviors more except the 'role reducation' and 'taking the support of fiends & neighbor' On the other hand the conservativeness and passive attitude in role strain coping is the same aspect of the two groups. • As library have become changed. Beyond conventional simple functions such as data storing and recording, the functions of modern public libraries are expended to various directions, for example functions of encouraging residents to utilize information and participate in cultural activities and also a function of life-long education, resulting in playing a role as complex space. As the role of public libraries changes into a complex one, spatial planning reflecting this change is required. Spatial arrangements, furniture arrangements and interior images in 12 public libraries in Seoul were analyzed. As a result of the study, it was found that in spatial arrangements, many public libraries linked spaces by functions. Furniture arrangements have been changing from the closed arrangement to the open arrangement. Interior images were identified as static and simple except digital information space. Accordingly, public libraries have became needed to play a proper role of community facilities for local residents by planning furniture arrangements and conducting interior designs taking characteristics of many different users into consideration.

  • Product-related services in manufacturing industry are different from typical services in service industry. Product-related services ensure proper product functioning, provide additional repurchase, and offer attractive margin Product-related services in manufacturing industry are not core activity but taking supporting roles, while services in typical service industry are core parts. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of communication in linking IT and product-related logistics service in manufacturing industry. • Purpose - This research is to examine how different Korean retailers are from Japanese ones, in terms of taking a social responsibility for product scandals. Through a comparative analysis, the authors will provide some implications for retailers in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - Based on the existing literature studied how retailers as well as manufacturers responded to food poisoning and product scandals, the authors compared Korea with Japan, in terms of taking a social responsibility. Results - As soon as food safety scandals occurred in Japan, a local government quickly ordered Snow Brand to recall and stop producing problematic milk products. In addition, retailers have stopped displaying them on their store shelves to minimize the number of victims. By stopping selling them, Japanese retailers took a social responsibility for product scandals. Conclusions - The authors found that retailers play a very important role in protecting customer rights. Moreover, customers have become more and more aware of the roles of retailers taking a social responsibility for social issues. The research proposes that a government has to develop the laws to protect customers from food poisoning and product safety issues effectively and that boycott campaigns should be legally protected by a government and promoted by customers.
