  • A sliding mode fuzzy control (SMFC) algorithm is presented for vibration of large structures. Rule-base of the fuzzy inference engine is constructed based on the sliding mode control, which is one of the nonlinear control algorithms. Fuzziness of the controller makes the control system robust against the uncertainties in the system parameters and the input excitation. Non-linearity of the control rule makes the controller more effective than linear controllers. Design procedure based on the present fuzzy control is more convenient than those of the conventional algorithms based on complex mathematical analysis, such as linear quadratic regulator and sliding mode control(SMC). Robustness of presented controller is illustrated by examining the loop transfer function. For verification of the present algorithm, a numerical study is carried out on the benchmark problem initiated by the ASCE Committee on Structural Control. To achieve a high level of realism, various aspects are considered such as actuator-structure interaction, modeling error, sensor noise, actuator time delay, precision of the A/D and D/A converters, magnitude of control force, and order of control model. Performance of the SMFC is examined in comparison with those of other control algorithms such as $H_{mixed 2/{\infty}}$ optimal polynomial control, neural networks control, and SMC, which were reported by other researchers. The results indicate that the present SMFC is an efficient and attractive control method, since the vibration responses of the structure can be reduced very effectively and the design procedure is simple and convenient.

  • In recent days, a study of the intrusion detection system collecting and analyzing network data, packet or logs, has been actively performed to response the network threats in computer security fields. In particular, Bayesian network has advantage of the inference functionality which can infer with only some of provided data, so studies of the intrusion system based on Bayesian network have been conducted in the prior. However, there were some limitations to calculate high detection performance because it didn't consider the problems as like complexity of the relation among network packets or continuos input data processing. Therefore, in this paper we proposed two methodologies based on K-menas clustering to improve detection rate by reforming the problems of prior models. At first, it can be improved by sophisticatedly setting interval range of nodes based on K-means clustering. And for the second, it can be improved by calculating robust CPT through applying weighted-leaning based on K-means clustering, too. We conducted the experiments to prove performance of our proposed methodologies by comparing K_WTAN_EM applied to proposed two methodologies with prior models. As the results of experiment, the detection rate of proposed model is higher about 7.78% than existing NBN(Naive Bayesian Network) IDS model, and is higher about 5.24% than TAN(Tree Augmented Bayesian Network) IDS mode and then we could prove excellence our proposing ideas.

  • Current state-of-the-art of VMS control is based upon simple knowledge-based inference engine with message set and each message's priority. And R&Ds of the VMS control are focused on the accurate detection and estimation of traffic condition of the subject roadways. However VMS display itself cannot achieve a desirable traffic allocation among alternative routes in the network In this context, VMS display strategy is the most crucial part in the VMS control. VMS itself has several limitations in its nature. It is generally known that VMS causes overreaction and concentration problems, which may be more serious in urban network than highway network because diversion should be more easily made in urban network. A feedback control algorithm is proposed in this paper to address the above-mentioned issues. It is generally true that feedback control approach requires low computational effort and is less sensitive to models inaccuracy and disturbance uncertainties. Major features of the proposed algorithm are as follows: Firstly, a regulator is designed to attain system optimal traffic allocation among alternative routes for each VMS in the network. Secondly, strategic messages should be prepared to realize the desirable traffic allocation, that is, output of the above regulator. VMS display strategy module is designed in this context. To evaluate Probable control benefit and to detect logical errors of the Proposed feedback algorithm, a offline simulation test is performed using real network in Daejon, Korea.
