  • An optimal control approach to robust control design is proposed in this study for rigid robotic systems under the unknown load and the other uncertainties. The uncertainties are quadratically bounded for some positive definite matrix. Iterative method to find the matrix is shown. Simulations are made for a weight-lifting operation of a two-link manipulator and the robust control performance of robotic systems by the proposed algorithm is remarkable.

  • This study proposed a new technique to control of mobile robot based on voice command for (Human-Robot Cooperative operation in manufacturing precess). High performance voice recognition and control system was designed In this paper for smart factory. robust voice recognition is essential for a robot to communicate with people. One of the main problems with voice recognition robots is that robots inevitably effects real environment including with noises. The noise is captured with strong power by the microphones, because the noise sources are closed to the microphones. The signal-to-noise ratio of input voice becomes quite low. However, it is possible to estimate the noise by using information on the robot's own motions and postures, because a type of motion/gesture produces almost the same pattern of noise every time it is performed. In this paper, we describe an robust voice recognition system which can robustly recognize voice by adults and students in noisy environments. It is illustrated by experiments the voice recognition performance of mobile robot placed in a real noisy environment.

  • The sealing robot must be able to calculate the slope of a contact surface for complete adherence of the sealing on different concrete shapes. After the slope is obtained, the robot will track on the surface of the concrete, but this process contains an error in the actual purpose of the force command. The reason this a phenomenon occurs, the non-linearity of the contact surface and the end-effector, is due to parasitic coupling. Errors like make it difficult to measure accurately the respective factors. Therefore, it is regarded as a disturbance that occurs when it follows the work surface it. In this paper, we selected the friction coefficient of the surface as a control factor and designed a compensator to reduce effects of disturbance. Finally, in view of the non-linearity of the end-effector of a robot to contact surfaces directly, we propose a robust force tracking controller in the finite range for managing disturbances that occur during the sealing.

  • This paper presents a novel approach for controlling electrically driven robot manipulators based on voltage control. The voltage-based control is preferred comparing to torque-based control. This approach is robust in the presence of manipulator uncertainties since it is free of the manipulator model. The control law is very simple, fast response, efficient, robust, and can be used for high-speed tracking purposes. The feedback linearization is applied on the electrical equations of the dc motors to cancel the current terms which transfer all manipulator dynamics to the electrical circuit of motor. The control system is simulated for position control of the PUMA 560 robot driven by permanent magnet dc motors.

  • A robust optimal control design is proposed in this study for rigid robotic systems under the unknown load and the other uncertainties. The uncertainties are quadratically bounded for some positive definite matrix. Iterative method finding the Q weighting matrix is shown. Computer simulations have been done for a weight-lifting operation of a two-link manipulator and the result of the simulation shows that the proposed algorithm is very effective for a robust control of robotic systems.

  • In this paper, a new control technique using WIPDC(Weighted Integral Parallel Distributed Compensation) and ISMC(Integral Sliding Mode Control) is proposed for high performance and robust trajectory tracking control of a wheeled mobile robot. The WIPDC reduces the steady-state error by adding a weighted integral controller to the PDC. So, the trajectory tracking control using the WIPDC can obtain more accurate control performance than the PDC. And the ISMC based control input gives the mobile robot to preserve the system dynamics controlled by the WIPDC control input in spite of external disturbances. Therefore, the proposed control method shows a robust and precise trajectory tracking performance.

  • In this paper, a new impedance force control method for deburring and polishing process is proposed. The proposed method is robust to deal with unknown environment stiffness as unknown well as environment location. An adaptive technique is used to minimize the force error occurred due to unknown environment surface profile. A robust position control algorithm based on time-delayed information is used to cancel out uncertainties in robot dynamics. A three link robot manipulator is used to demonstrate performances of the proposed control on deburring and polishing tasks. Stability analysis for the adaptive control is presented and its results are confirmed by simulations.

  • An integrated Robot control system for SCARA robot is developed. The system consists of an off-line programming(OLP), software and a robot controller using four digital signal processor(TMS32OC50). The OLP has functions of teaching task, dynamic simulator, three dimensional animation, and trajectory planning. To develop robust dynamic control algorithm, a new sliding mode control algorithm for the robot is proposed. The trajectory tracking performance of these algorithm is evaluated by implementing to SCARA robot(SM5 type) using DSP controller which has conventional PI-FF control algorithm. To make SCARA robot operate according to off-line teaching, an interface between OLP and robot controller in the integrated system is designed. To demonstrate performance of the integrated system, the proposed control algorithm is applied to the system.

  • In this paper, the robust adaptive controller for the accurate position control of the robot manipulator in discribed. The proposed controller has feedforward and feedback terms. To reduced the cumputation time, the inertia matrix is simlipied by diagonal matrix and the centrifugal and Colioris term and gravity term are assumed to be zero. The auxiliary signal is added in the controller. This signal improve convergence time of error. The simulation results show that the proposed method is applied to the real time control.

  • In this paper, a robust adaptive sliding mode control algorithm for accurate trajectory tracking of robot manipulators is proposed, with unknown parameters being estimated on-line. The controller is designed based on a Lyapunov method, which consists of adaptive feed-forward compensation part and a discontinuous control part. It is shown that, in the presence of the uncertainty and the disturbances arising from the actuator or some other causes, the tracking errors is bound to converge to zero asymptotically. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the results of the propose method.
