  • This paper presents optimal walking trajectory generation for a quadruped robot with genetic-fuzzy algorithm. In order to move a quadruped robot smoothly, both generations of optimal leg trajectory and free walking are required. Generally, making free walking is difficult to realize for a quadruped robot, because the patterned trajectory may interfere in the free walking. In this paper, we suggest the generation method for the leg trajectory satisfied with free walking pattern so as to avoid obstacle and walk smoothly. We generate via points of leg with respect to body motion, and then we use the genetic-fuzzy algorithm to search for the optimal via velocity and acceleration information of legs. All these methods are verified with PC simulation program, and implemented to SERO-V robot.

  • In this paper, the detection scheme of the spatial coordinates based on stereo camera for a Transformation algorithm of an Leg-wheel Hexapod Robot is proposed. Robot designed as can have advantages that do transfer possibility fast mobility in flat topography and uneven topography through walk that use wheel drive. In the proposed system, using the disparity data obtained from the left and right images captured by the stereo camera system and the perspective transformation between a 3-D scene and an image plane, depth information can be detected. Robot uses construed environmental data and transformation algorithm, decide wheel drive and leg waik, and can calculate width of street and regulate width of robot.

  • This paper presents the kinematics of a walking robot leg based on Jansen mechanism. By using simple mathematics, all trajectories of walking robot leg links can be calculated. A foot point trajectory is used to evaluate the performance of a walking robot leg. Trial and Error method is used to find a best combination of link lengths under certain restrictions. All simulations are performed by Matlab. Ground score, drag score, step size, foot lift, instant speed, and average speed of foot point trajectories are used for selecting the best one.

  • In this paper, the structure of a new gravity compensator was studied, and the biped walking robot applying a gravity compensator was presented to improve the performance of the robot. The robot had 13 degree of freedom and is driven by the joint actuator with the gravity compensator. Each leg of the robot is composed of six joints three joints at the hip, a joint at the knee, and two joints at the ankle. The leg of the robot was designed to support 74kg weight including 30kg payload thanks to the gravity compensator. The performance of the robot was presented by reducing the payload applied to the leg joint of the robot thanks to the gravity compensator.

  • Generally inpipe robot needs force above standing for contacting robot to pipe. If the environment of the pipe-inside does not change, there is not a problem. But if the pipe radius change, or occur the obstacle which it does not intend, problem gets. So it uses a different system and must know an environment change, and changing the shape or a form of the robot. The research uses the flexible leg and is the robot which is adapted to the environment change of the pipe. The advantage of this robot is possible to move when it does not need to recognize a change of environment of pipe. Leg is bend with one direction. When it moves part that there are legs effect of leg direction the robot is moved with only one direction. If friction between legs and pipe is sufficient, not only verticality pipe moving, but also curved pipe moving. Also the obstacle of the pipe inside occurs and the diameter of the pipe inside changes, this robot can move if it does not use another system or device.

  • A method to adaptively control leg-ends trajectories of a five-legged walking robot, Cepheus-2, has been developed in terms of a kind of a table look-up method. Cepheus-2 is a five-legged robot with a pentagonal body with two joints of each leg. The robot control system has a hierarchical autonomic-integrated architecture with a main computer (PC), a manager and servo modules. Being given the goals of walking by the main computer, the manager module assigns a type of leg-end trajectories of which data are described with the work space coordinates for the legs. Every servo module generates the joint angle data. In steady walking of the robot on flat floor without obstacle, two joints have to generate the assigned trajectory and five legs ...

  • This paper presents a parallel typed walking robot which can walk in omni-direction and climb from a floor to a wall. We design a six D.O.F leg mechanism composed of three legs, which form a parallel mechanism with a base and a ground to generate arbitrary poses. Optimal design is conducted to maximize the walking space and the dexterity, which are normalized by the stroke of leg. Kinematic parameters are found to maximize the weighted optimal objectives. We design a triple parallel mechanism robot by inserting Stewart platform between the upper leg mechanism and the lower leg mechanism and examine the gaits when the robot walks on the ground and climbs from a floor to a wall. The analysis of walking space and dexterity for each gait shows that the triple parallel walking robot has a large walking space with a large stability region. We explore the possibility that the robot can climb from a floor to a wall. Investigating the gaits for the six steps proves that the robot can lift the foot up to the wall by combining the orientational walking space generated by three parallel mechanisms.

  • The conventional actuators with the speed reducer had weakness in supporting the weight of the body and leg itself. To overcome this, a new four bar link mechanism actuated by the ball screw was proposed. The four bar mechanism has higher strength and gear ratio than the conventional actuator to actutate the leg of the biped robot. One leg was designed to have ankle, thigh, and hip joints. The kinematics and dynamics of one leg with four bar link mechanism was analyzed using Euler-Lagrange approach. The dynamics of one leg was expressed in the ball strew frame.

  • Most big difference of existing robot and biped robot stays at the leg. The wheel is very efficient with the portability than the leg. However biped robot can accomplish many role height. But The two thing which we take the center to the leg and walk to the stability is not easy work. Therefore this proposal make efforts that we try to find technical element for the walking of the robot through its design and implementation.
