청주시 용도지역별 가로수의 생리.생태학적 특성에 관한 연구 -Ginkgo biloba와 Platanus orientalis를 중심으로- (Physio-Ecological Characteristics of Roadside Tree by Difference under Zoning of Urban Districts in Cheong-ju City -Focused on the Ginkgo biloba and Platanus orientalis-)

  • As air pollution has emerged as one of the most pressing urban environmental concerns, many studies have investigated the influence of air pollutants(ex: $O^3$, $NO^2$, $SO^2$, Acid rain, etc.) on roadside trees and urban grove. In Korea, population density started to increase since the industrialization. Since dense population aggravates our living conditions, it's very important for us to preserve and keep a lively and refreshing nature in order to live with green nature in harmony under the current artificial environment-dominating world. In metropolitan cities, the production of pollutants increases in proportion to population growth. The vehicle exhaust gas and air pollutants from cooling and heating systems have been the major causes of acid rain. Furthermore, tire particles which are naturally produced by tire wearing on roads and other toxic substances in exhaust gas have caused a problem in human health directly and indirectly. In fact, a lot of studies have analyzed air pollution, roadside trees and plants in Korea. However, they are mostly limited to covering the influence of air pollution on the growth of plants. No paper has clearly explained why air pollution-resistant or-vulnerable species has shown different reactions yet. Even though a lot of urban roadside trees have died or stopped to grow from time to time, this kind of problem has not been properly examined. This paper is aimed to comparatively analyze physio-ecological characteristic such as photosynthesis, chlorophyll contents, soil volume water figure out their relationship with environmental factors against the expanding roadside trees in Cheong-ju, and provide basic data for management of roadside trees and elaboration of urban environment preservation policies.

서울 도심 가로수 및 가로녹지의 기온 저감 효과와 기능 향상 연구 (A Study on Air Temperature Reduction Effect and the Functional Improvement of Street Green Areas in Seoul, Korea)

  • 본 연구는 도시 내 가로수 및 가로녹지의 수종, 식재유형, 가로녹지 구조, 녹량(녹지용적)에 따른 기온 변화량을 규명하고자 하였다. 수종별 비교 가능한 3종 이상의 가로수가 식재된 유형은 교목 1열+관목이었으며, 보차간 기온차이 평균값 간 분석에서 소나무 $1.35^{\circ}C$, 느티나무 $1.84^{\circ}C$, 은행나무 $2.00^{\circ}C$, 양버즘나무 $2.57^{\circ}C$이었다. 규격이 크고 수관폭이 넓은 수종은 가로변에 그늘을 제공하여 기온 저감에 상당한 영향을 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 가로수 식재유형과 기온과의 관계 분석결과는 교목 1열 유형은 평균기온 차이 $1.80^{\circ}C$, 교목 2열 유형은 평균기온 차이 $2.15^{\circ}C$로 교목 열수 증가에 따라 보차간 기온차이 평균값이 큰 것을 알 수 있었다. 가로녹지 구조별 기온 저감 효과 분석결과는 교목 유형 $1.94^{\circ}C$, 교목+관목 유형 $2.49^{\circ}C$, 교목+아교목+관목 유형 $2.57^{\circ}C$이었으며, 기온저감은 단층구조보다 다층구조에서 효과적이었다. 녹량(녹지용적량)과 기온저감량과의 관계 분석에서는 녹량이 많을수록 기온저감 효과가 커지는 것으로 분석되었다. 연구 결과 수관용적이 크고 교목층의 열수가 많으며, 다층구조인 식재형태는 가로 내 녹량과 관계가 있음을 의미하였다. 본 결과를 바탕으로 기온 저감 효과와 기능 강화를 위한 가로녹지 조성 기준을 제안하였다. 보도폭 3m 이하인 경우에는 수관용적이 작은 낙엽활엽수와 최대 1m의 띠녹지 조성을 통한 교목+관목의 구조를 제시하였다. 보도폭 3m 이상인 경우에는 수관용적이 큰 낙엽활엽수 다열 식재 및 1m 이상의 띠녹지 조성, 교목과 관목뿐만 아니라, 아교목 성상의 수목 식재를 통한 다층구조 녹지조성이 가능할 것으로 판단되었다.

Study of Commercial Business Men and Employers' Recognition on the Existence Effect of the Roadside Trees

  • This study is carried out for obtaining the basic materials for presentation of creation and desirable management of urban roadside trees through analyse the existence effect of trees on people who operate th commercial areas along the streets. Roadside tree and green areas are recognized comfort space in addition to simple planting area. Therefore various trees and flowering plants should be introduced in addition to roadside facilities for convenience. Planted roadside trees should be maintained. We will propose an method that residents plant and manage the trees and flowering plants on the two lane of one way road. However main lines more than four lane of one way have more public property beside the residents space. Therefore these should be maintained mainly by related government agencies.

대구지역 가로수잎의 중금속 (Heavy Metals in Leaves of Roadside Trees in Daegu City)

  • This study was conducted to determine the contents of heavy metals in leaves of roadside trees according to different growth stages in Daegu city. The orders of heavy metal contents in leaves of roadside tree and soil were Fe>Mn>Zn>Pb>Cu>Cr>Cd and Fe>Mn>Zn>Cu>Pb>Cr>Cd, respectively. The contents of heavy metals in leaves of roadside trees and soil showed an increasing tendency as the levels of traffic volume increased. The contents of heavy metals in loaves on October were higher than those on May. Zelkova serrate and Ginkgo biloba showed high contents of Cr, Cd and Pb.

야간 도로조명에서 가로수의 배치가 조명품질에 미치는 영향에 관한 시뮬레이션 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Roadside Trees' Layout Affecting Lighting Quality on Roadways by Simulation Approach)

  • The uniformity of lighting distribution on the roadway is essential factor for drivers and pedestrians's safety during nighttime in urban streets. Also, the importance of roadside trees is one of the growing concern for better citizens' health and mitigating environmental impact on the urban street. But roadway lightings and roadside trees have different design or planting standards and they are not integrated in the systemic viewpoint for better safety of users during nighttime. The purpose of this study is to propose a simulation approach which assesses lighting quality in the view of illumination uniformity distribution of roadway lighting from design step and consider the layout of roadside trees. For improving lighting quality of roadway, simulation approach is needed for assessing the impact of diverse planting situation of trees and encouraged from beginning of design step for roadway construction.

가로수 유형별 모델링을 통한 가로공간 조도분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Lighting Distribution on Road Space by Modeling Roadside Tree Types)

  • This study proposes lighting simulation approach to assess lighting quality on motor ways and walk ways considering each type of form and growth of roadside trees. Simulation approach to assess quality of lighting is frequently used for lighting design which guarantees secure of drivers and pedestrians during the night time. But, road side trees which have diverse benefits for citizens acts on obstacles during night time needs lighting. The results of this study shows a possible way for tuning the aims of both lighting and road side tree. It will be possible to develop harmonic design standards for road way lighting if further study achieved based on the result of this study.

가로수의 유형 및 성장을 고려한 보행로 조명환경 개선에 관한 시뮬레이션 연구 (A Simulation Study on the Improvement of Lighting Condition on Sidewalks Considering the Type and Growth of Roadside Trees)

  • In recently, a growing concern for the health of urban residents increased interests in a variety of outdoor activities simply be done in terms of cost and time. They are specially interested in low-impact and safe exercises around residential or working area. Walking is the one of easily doing exercise in daytime or nighttime near residential area. The sidewalks of boulevard near the residential area is the best place for exercise because of easy access and the green space with roadside trees. However, if the nighttime is not guaranteed the proper lighting condition, the possibility of exposure to crime and the threat to pedestrian safety can be increased. Because roadside trees are one of the potential obstacle for lighting condition, supplementary lightings are important to mitigate interruption for safety. To meet such a need, the purpose of this study is to propose a simulation approach which improves lighting condition on sidewalks of boulevard with variety of roadside trees. To do so, the simulation approach is applied for analyzing the interrupted condition by classified five standard types of roadside trees considering the growth of them and finding optimal layout of supplementary luminaires by lighting types. The results of this approach shows that it is useful for assessing the safety of pedestrian in nighttime.

가로수 잎의 S 및 중금속 함량에 의한 대기 오염도 추정 (Estimation of Relative Air Pollution by the Contents of S. Pb and Cd in Leaves of Roadside Trees in Taejon)

  • To estimate the level of the air pollution in Taejon city, the contents of S, Pb and Cd of the leaves of the roadside trees were deterimined. And we analyzed the relationship between the contents of S, Pb and Cd in the leaves of the roadside trees and traffic volume. The ranges of S, Pb and Cd contents in all the samples were 1.82~4.34 mg/g, 1.95~$246.80{\mu}g/g$ and 2.00~$20.50{\mu}g/g$ respectively. Areas with the high contents of S, Pb and Cd in the leaves were the road from Taejon railroad station to the provincial government, West Taejon crossroad, Taehwa-dong, Kasuwon-dong and Yongmun crossroad.

토양 납 오염에 대한 가로수 식물종의 생리생태적 반응 (Eco-physiological Responses of Roadside Tree Species to Contamination of Soil with Lead)

  • 대한민국은 도시화 과정과 인접 국가에서부터 대기를 통한 유입 등으로 납과 같은 중금속의 토양 오염 문제가 관심을 받고 있다. 이에 가로수 수종으로 많이 쓰이고 있는 자생종 4종을 대상으로 토양 내 납 오염에 대한 엽록소 함량, 항산화 효소, 광합성량, 생물량과 같은 생리-생태적인 반응과 흡수능력을 연구하여 납 오염에 대응하는 가로수로 적합한 수종을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구 대상종인 은행나무, 왕벚나무, 느티나무, 이팝나무는 200 mg Pb/kg 이상의 처리구에서 엽록소 함량, 항산화 효소에서 납 독성에 대한 반응을 보였다. 반면에 생물량이나 광합성량의 경우 고농도 (5,000 mg/kg)를 제외하고는 큰 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 특히 은행나무는 항산화 효소, 광합성 및 생물량에서 고농도에서도 납의 부정적인 영향이 나타내지 않았다. 실제 환경에서 나타날 수 있는 저농도 처리구에서 은행나무와 벚나무의 경우 연구 대상종 중 높은 납 흡수율을 보였다. 이처럼 은행나무와 같이 납에 대한 저항력과 흡수능력을 가진 수종을 선발하여 가로수로 식재하여 도로 주변 납 오염에 대응하는 방안이 필요할 것이다.

충주시 가로변 토양과 가로수 식생에 미치는 계절별 제설제의 영향 (The Seasonal Impacts of De-icing Salts on Soil and Vegetation in Chung-ju City)

  • De-icing salts applied to roads during winter enable safe driving conditions. However, these salts are eventually displaced to roadside areas at which they can negatively impact soil, vegetation, and water resources. This purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between foliar damage ratio (NY = 0-25%, SY = 26-50%, CY = 51-75%) on roadside trees (Ginko biloba) and seasonal impact of de-icing salts on soil and vegetation. Thirty roadside trees were selected at 8 m intervals between the Konkuk and Judeok intersections in Chung-ju city. The results reveal that seasonal soil acidity is relatively alkaline for foliar damage ratio of Ginko biloba was CY compared to NY. Also, electronic conductivity of each seasonal sampling was recorded as high in winter and spring, whereas the opposite trend is observed in summer. Various plants species were identified in abundance under roadside trees within NY roadside sections. These same species were observed in reduced numbers within CY sections. Strong negative correlations were identified between foliar damage ratio on roadside trees and vegetation. This relationship may be a method to use in predicting the accumulation of de-icing salt and visible injuries on roadside trees.
