  • As the number of using road in Korea increases, maintenance costs and traffic congestion costs also increase. In order to reduce maintenance cost and time of road, existing long - lived modular road system has been proposed. In this study, the design and performance evaluation of the adaptable support module, which is the substructure of the proposed system, was performed. Two adaptable (Cross-Beam type)support modules were designed and fabricated to determine the load and shape. A adaptable support module was constructed and a static load test was carried out to select the type with better performance. As a result of the load test, the maximum value of the measured earth pressure difference is about 158 kPa and the settlement amount is about 0.032 mm in the two types of adaptable support modules. Based on these results, it is concluded that the performance of the adaptable support module of the bottom curved cross-beam type is better.

  • The bimodal tram was designed to drive on the dedicated track as well as on the public road. The position and speed are automatically controlled on the dedicated track by the onboard computer, whereas they are manually controlled by driver like motor vehicles on the public road. The ride comfort the passengers feel and the effect of the vibration generated during driving on the passenger's health, comfortableness and motion sickness were evaluated with driving the bimodal tram prototype in automatic and manual mode, respectively. The test was done in automatic mode on the test track with various load conditions while it was done in manual mode on the public road with empty load.

  • The expansion of old road is needed in constructing the entrance at the $\bigcirc$$\bigcirc$I/C road in $\bigcirc$$\bigcirc$city. To strength the national competition, many agents who concerned do their best for finishing that construction early as soon as possible. In generally, soil embankment on soft foundation is caused to reduce the stability by making the settlement of ground surface due to the over load. Thus, we try to make it stable by building EPS embankment construction which in our working place is one kind of the method of light embankment construction after excavating the original ground.

  • Human-induced modifications in coastal area may cause strong geomorphic responses by disturbing sediment supply, transport and deposition regimes. Morever, engineering structure have been built to stabilize coastal change, these effort impact on other morphologic change. In case of coastal area, there are lack of sediment yield data. This study focus on the tendency of long-term shoreline change, estimate method od sediment discharge which is a major factor of coastal change and adduced to way for considering design load influenced to coastal road.

  • Deformability of road pavements in the form of ruts represent a safety risk for road users. In the procedures for dimensioning the pavement structure, the requirement that such deformations do not occur is imperatively included, which results in the appropriate selection of elements (material, geometry) of the pavement structure. Deformability and functionality, will depend of the correct design of pavement structure during exploitation period. Nevertheless, there are many examples where deformations are observed on the pavement structure, in the form of rutting at parts of the road with relatively short length, realised in the same climatic and the same geoenvironmental conditions. The performed analysis of deformability led to the conclusion that the level of deformation is a function of the speed of traffic. This effect is observed on city roads, but also outside of urban areas at roads with speed limits are significant, due to the traffic management, traffic jams (intersections, etc.). Still, the lower speed cause greater deformations. The authors tried to describe the deformability of flexible pavement structures, from the aspects of geotechnical problems, as a function of driving speed. Outcome of the analysis is a traffic load correction coefficient, in terms of using the existing methods of flexible pavement structures design.

  • It is important for identification of noise and vibration problem of tire to consider influence of interaction between road and tire. A quantification of road noise is a challenging issue in vehicle NVH due to extremely complicated transfer paths of road noise as well as the difficulty in an experimental identification of input force from tire-road interaction. A noise caused by tire is divided into road noise(structure-borne noise) and pattern noise(air-borne noise). Pattern noise is caused by pattern shape of tire, which has larger than 500 Hz, but road noise is generated by the interactions between a tire and a vehicle body. In this paper, we define the quantitative analysis for road noise caused by interactions between tire and road parameters. For the identification of road noise, the chassis dynamometer that is equipped $10mm{\times}10mm $ square cleat in the semi-anechoic chamber is used, and the tire spindle forces are measured by load cell. The vibro-acoustic transfer function between ear position and wheel center was measured by the vibro-acoustic reciprocity method. In this study three tires with different type of mechanical are used for the experiment work.

  • To gain more knowledge of aluminum foam sandwich structure and promote the engineering application, aluminum foam sandwich consisting of 7050 matrix aluminum foam core and 304 stainless steel face-sheets was studied under three-point bending by WDW-T100 electronic universal tensile testing machine in this work. Results showed that when aluminum foam core was reinforced by 304 steel face-sheets, its load carrying capacity improved dramatically. The maximum load of AFS in three-point bending increased with the foam core density or face-sheet thickness monotonically. And also when foam core was reinforced by 304 steel panels, the energy absorption ability of foam came into play effectively. There was a clear plastic platform in the load-displacement curve of AFS in three-point bending. No crack of 304 steel happened in the present tests. Two collapse modes appeared, mode A comprised plastic hinge formation at the mid-span of the sandwich beam, with shear yielding of the core. Mode B consisted of plastic hinge formation both at mid-span and at the outer supports.

  • Energy saving is as important as developments of green energy and alternative energy. The need for development of high-efficiency lighting apparatus further increased. This paper compared with the size of electrical equipment and analyzed the size of electrical capacity for the railway station building. Also discussed energy saving measures that can be achieved by using high-efficacy lighting fixtures, and the percentage of the lighting load capacity of the entire building.

  • Certification revocation list(CRL) is needed for excluding compromised, faulty, illegitimate vehicle nodes and preventing the use of compromised cryptographic materials in vehicular communications. It should be distributed to vehicles resource-efficiently and CRL computational load of vehicles should not impact on life-critical applications with delay sensitive nature such as the pre-crash sensing that affords under 50msec latency. However, in the existing scheme, when a vehicle receives CRL, the vehicle calculates linkage values from linkage seeds, which results in heavy computational load. This paper proposes, a new CRL distribution scheme is proposed, which minimizes the time for CRL processing of vehicles. In the proposed scheme, the linkage value calculation procedure is performed by road-side unit(RSU) instead of the vehicle, and then the extracted linkage values are relayed to the vehicle transparently. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme reduces the CRL computational load dramatically, which would minimize impact on life-critical applications' operations with low latency.
