Although Marguerite Yourcenar, a representative French woman writer, lived 47 years in the United States from 1939 to 1987, the American influence on her life has not been studied either at home or abroad. The purpose of this study is to examine chronologically the American influence on the following three literary works of Yourcenar: The Little Mermaid (1942), River Deep, Dark River (1966) and Recluse (1982). The Little Mermaid is a drama, presented in musical format, about the identity crisis and inner conflict of Yourcenar. Unlike the little mermaid who burst like a bubble in Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, Yourcenar associates her death with the image of ascension. River Deep, dark river is a translation of the Negro spiritual expressing the suffering of African Americans. Recluse, her last novel, deals with the life story of a simple man living in nature on a small island. This novel shows Yourcenar's desire for a pure world that is not defiled by human greed. Yourcenar sponsored major human rights organizations and environmental groups in her life, and donated her entire fortune for human rights and the protection of Wild Fauna and Flora. The American influence on the literary works of Yourcenar can be summarized as a "great turning point", because she was transformed from a humanistic writer into an intellectual actor.

지방국토관리청이나 지자체에서는 하천의 관리, 이용, 개발, 치수 및 수질 보전을 위해 매년 국가하천 및 지방 1 2급 하천에 대한 하천정비기본계획을 실시하고 있으며, 하천정비기본계획보고서와 대장 등이 성과물로써 납품되고 있다. 그러나, 2003년도 이전에 실시된 하천정비기본계획의 경우, 보고서 및 대장 등 성과물이 체계적으로 관리되지 못하여, 건교부 및 지자체 등과 같은 정부부처와 정부투자기관, 대학 및 연구소와 하천협회 등과 같은 자료의 활용빈도가 높은 전문가 집단에서 본 자료를 활용하는데 많은 제약이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 하천정비기본계획 자료의 데이터베이스 구축을 통한 체계적인 관리와 웹 시스템을 통한 효율적인 정보제공이 가능하도록 2005년에 구축된 하천정비기본계획보고서 정보제공시스템을 소개하고자 한다.

최근의 사방사업(砂防事業)은 방재공간(防災空間)의 확보뿐 만 아니라 주변환경(周邊環境)에 잘 조화되고 생물자원(生物資源)이 풍부한 환경공간(環境空間)의 확보가 강조되고 있다. 일본에서도 이와같은 노력이 1990년대에 들어 활발히 진행되고 있으므로 우리나라의 사방사업의 참고가 될 수 있도록 일본의 친환경적(親環境的) 사방사업(砂防事業)에 대한 자료를 수집, 분석하였다. 구체적인 내용은 합리적인 수변환경(水邊環境) 조성(造成)과 친환경형(親環境型) 사방사업(砂防事業)이며, 친환경적(親環境的)인 사방사업(砂防事業)은 사방(砂防)댐, 유로공(流路工)과 호안공(護岸工), 어도(魚道) 및 수질보전공(水質保全工) 등에 대하여 정리하였다.

About 50% of the population and 75% of the properties concentrate on the flood plain in Japan. The rivers have intimate relationship with our lives. Those conditions have been seen after modern river improvement projects that began about a century ago. The technology which was introduced from foreign countries was improved in conformity with geographical features and the climate condition of our nation, and has redeveloped as a Japanese original technology. In 1940's, Japan had serious natural disasters that were caused by large- scale typhoons. Those typhoons wiped out everything completely. Even though the government realized the importance of flood control and management after those natural disasters, civil work still aimed to economic development. Those construction works have become the one of factors for concentrating population and degrading natural environment in urban areas. Deterioration of river environment has become serious issue in urban development and main cause of pollution. The approaches for environmental restorations which were started about 30 years ago aimed to harmonize with nature environment and cities and human lives. There have been going on many projects called 'river environmental improvement projects', the 'nature friendly river works' and 'natural restoration projects.' The society has tried to find a way to live in harmony with nature. As for societies symbiotic with habitats will form the safe country in the history and the spectacle. Such as the symbiotic of the river or the basin where discharge, water quality, nature, the history, landscape, the local society and also for culture were built in is achieved. Examples of working, applied to restoration technologies and the one to describe the mechanism construction are been shown in the paper. Furthermore, write for an international spread of the river technology of Japan to attempt.

In order to establish water quality management planning in some watershed, water quality of the future of the watershed should be predicted first. The Yongsan river various pollutant sources ; sewage, industry, livestock, farming and so on. And pollutants from these sources are likely to increase even though a number of publicly owned treatment works(POTWs) are founded. Therefore, it is estimated that water quality if the river would be even worse than now in near future. In this study, water quality of the future(2001, 2006) on the Yongsan river was simulated with QUAL2E model. Concentration of three water quality parameters(BOD, T-N, T-P) was predicted according to dry season, low flow season, average flow season of the river with and without POTWs. The results of this study showed the significant contrast in concentration between with and without POTWs, specially in terms of T-N and T-P. Therefore, POTWs must be founded around the Yongsan river and more advanced treatment should be considered. And because these parameters are mostly affected by polluants from upper watershed, including Kwangiudcheon, water quality management planning on the Yongsan river might be focused on this area.
