Design of Rough Set Theory Based Disease Monitoring System for Healthcare (헬스 케어를 위한 RDMS 설계)

  • This paper proposes the RDMS(Rough Set Theory based Disease Monitoring System) which efficiently manages diseases in Healthcare System. The RDMS is made up of DCM(Data Collection Module), RDRGM(RST based Disease Rules Generation Module), and HMM(Healthcare Monitoring Module). The DCM collects bio-metric informations from bio sensor of patient and stores it in RDMS DB according to the processing procedure of data. The RDRGM generates disease rules using the core of RST and the support of attributes. The HMM predicts a patient's disease by analyzing not only the risk quotient but also that of complications on the patient's disease by using the collected patient's information by DCM and transfers a visualized patient's information to a patient, a family doctor, etc according to a patient's risk quotient. Also the HMM predicts the patient's disease by comparing and analyzing a patient's medical information, a current patient's health condition, and a patient's family history according to the rules generated by RDRGM and can provide the Patient-Customized Medical Service and the medical information with the prediction result rapidly and reliably.

Reporting the Results of Monitoring Nine High Risk Insect Pests of South Korea in 2020 (한국의 침입우려 고위험 해충 9종에 대한 2020년 예찰조사 보고)

  • Monitoring about nine high risk insect pests, Aceria diospyri, Bactrocera dorsalis, Bactrocera minax, Bactrocera tsuneonis, Cydia pomonella, Lobesia botrana, Proeulia sp., Solenopsis invicta and Stephanitis takeyai, were carried out in seven regions from April to October in 2020. A total of 12,045 traps/visual scouting were investigated in 222 points of 78 local sites of seven regions, resulting the nine species, A. diospyri, B. dorsalis, B. minax, B. tsuneonis, C. pomonella, L. botrana, Proeulia sp., S. invicta, and S. takeyai, were not detected. This study has been conducted from 2018 to 2020, and we established the nationwide monitoring system and secured a bridgehead for monitoring invasive insect pests passing the border including seven universities.

Global Financial Crisis and the Monitoring Role of Foreign Investors (글로벌 금융위기와 외국인투자자의 감시자 역할)

  • The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze whether the influence of foreign investors from the monitoring role in Korean capital market is observed differently in accordance with the global financial crisis situation. We collected a total of 2,919 firm data from 2003 to 2015 and performed the empirical tests between foreign investor ownership and firms' cost of equity capital separately according to the situation of the global financial crisis. From the empirical results, foreign investors in general were playing a positive function in the Korean capital market by effectively performing the monitoring role for companies. However, we observed that their monitoring role is not effectively performed when the risk level of capital market is maximized, such as during the global financial crisis. The study suggested that the influence of foreign investors may vary depending on the level of risk in the capital market, which is expected to contribute to the market participants and academia.

  • It is that failure of equipment at the factory site causes personal injury and property damage. We are required a real-time monitoring and risk forecasting techniques to prevent for equipment failure. In this paper, we proposed a 3-phase smart plug and real-time monitoring system that can be used in factories, and collected environmental information and power information using a smart plug to analyze the data. In order to analyze the correlation between the risk situation and the collected data, we predicted the risk situation using Linear Regression, SVM, and ANN algorithms. As a result, the SVM and ANN algorithms obtained high predictive accuracy and developed a mobile app that could use it to check the risk forecast results.

HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT OF HOUSEHOLD EXPOSURE TO INDOOR RADON IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE DWELLING'S AGE

  • Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas and a major indoor contribution of exposure to ionizing radiation in dwellings. $^{222}Rn$ is a health hazard gas what is responsible for thousand lung cancer deaths every year. In this study, indoor radon concentrations present in thirty representative houses in Mahallat city, Iran, were determined in order to estimate lung cancer risk associated with residential radon exposure. Long-term passive method, using CR-39, was used to measure the radon concentration. The results showed an association between the age of the dwellings and the indoor radon concentration that was found, in that the concentration of radon tended to increase as the age of the dwelling also increased. The indoor radon concentrations were calculated to be within the range of $23{\pm}2$ to $350{\pm}26Bq{\cdot}m^{-3}$, with an average of $158Bq{\cdot}m^{-3}$. The annual effective dose from inhaled radon and its decay products was calculated between $0.8{\pm}0.1$ and $12.3{\pm}0.9mSv{\cdot}y^{-1}$, with an average of $5.5mSv{\cdot}y^{-1}$. By taking into consideration the EPA recommendation and ICRP statement, the average annual risk of lung cancer from inhaled radon was calculated as 0.09%, 0.06%, 0.01%, and 0.03% for current smokers (CS), those who had ever smoked (ES), never smokers (NS) and the general population, respectively.

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the risk of collision accidents to the VTSOs(Vessel Traffic Service Operators) as small vessels are expanded for monitoring targets. For this purpose, the risks of accidents and quasi-incidents involving small ships in the VTS area were analyzed by the collision risk model(CoRI) from the view-point of VTSOs. In addition, by analyzing risk of whether or not small vessels are included in the monitoring target by CoRI, we will contribute to the preparation of a proper range of the vessel for monitoring taget through various case studies in the future.

Probability Based Risk Evaluation Techniques for the Small-Sized Sea Floater (소형 해상 부유체의 확률 기반 위기평가기법)

  • This paper describes theoretical approach methodology for the Probability based risk Evaluation Techniques (PET) to monitor the risk levels of small-sized sea floater as like a yacht pier. The risk decision-making process by risk criteria with five-step scales is the core concepts of PET. These five-step scales are calculated from cumulative probability distribution of response functions for the sea floater motions using closed-form expressions. In addition, The risk decision-making process of PET with the risk criteria is proposed in this work. To verify the usability of PET, simulation experiments are carried out using mimic signals with the electrical specifications of ADIS16405 sensor that is to be use as measurement tool for the floater motions. As results from experiments, the risk evaluation error by PET shows 0.38 levels in maximum 5.0 levels. These results clearly shown that the proposed PET can be use as the monitoring techniques.

  • Tube Lines has carried out a "knowledge and investigation programme" on the deep tube tunnels comprising the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines, as required by the PPP contract with London Underground. Many of the tunnels have been in use for over 100 years, so this assessment was considered essential to the future safe functioning of the system. This programme has involved a number of generic investigations which guide the assessment methodology and the analysis of some 5,000 individual structures. A significant amount of investigation has been carried out, including ultrasonic thickness measurement, detection of brickwork laminations using radar, stress measurement using magnetic techniques, determination of soil parameters using CPT, pressuremeter and laboratory testing, installation of piezometers, material and tunnel segment testing, and trialling of remote photographic techniques for inspection of large tunnels and shafts. Vibrating wire, potentiometer, electro level, optical and fibre-optic monitoring has been used, and laser measurement and laser scanning has been employed to measure tunnel circularity. It is considered that there is scope for considerable improvements in non-destructive testing technology for structural assessment in particular, and some ideas are offered as a "wish-list". Assessment reports have now been produced for all assets forming Tube Lines' deep tube tunnel network. For assets which are non-compliant with London Underground standards, the risk to the operating railway has to be maintained as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) using enhanced inspection and monitoring, or repair where required. Monitoring techniques have developed greatly during recent years and further advances will continue to support the economic whole life asset management of infrastructure networks.

  • In this paper, we propose a method of schoolzone safety to the protection and management of accident and crime of school circumstance that it is increased recently. Hence, sensor network based intelligent monitoring module must be considered for schoolzone safety. It is not simple CCTV monitoring, but it means that the ability extension is proposed to monitor the dangerous situation for the risk management. Hence, this paper proposes the design of monitoring module considering various danger situations that can be occurred around the school.

  • Nuclear power plants(NPPs) are consisted of power production functions and safety functions preventing leakage of radiation. Operators working in NPPs shall maintain these functions during an operation period through various activities such as improvement & modification, corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance and surveillance test. According to the performance of these work activities, there are configuration changes in NPPs systems. Its changes cause the increase of safety risks(CDF) and plant trip risks. Recently, the importance of risk management is increasing gradually in the operation process of NPPs. Therefore, this paper presents the work management methods using the various risk monitoring systems during power operation and overhaul period. Also this paper suggests the optimum application ways of risk systems for work management.
