Background: Development of effective educational strategies should accompany increases in public awareness and the availability of genetic testing for breast cancer (BC). These educational strategies should be designed to fulfill the knowledge gap while considering factors that influence women's interest in order to facilitate decision making. Objective: To determine the possible correlates of Saudi women's interest in BC genes testing including socio-demographics, the level of awareness towards BC genes, the family history of BC and the perceived personal risk among adult Saudi women in Al Hassa, Saudi Arabia. Subjects and methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out during the second BC community-based campaign in Al Hassa, Saudi Arabia. All Saudi women aged ${\geq}18$ years (n=781) attending the educational components of the campaign were invited to a personal interview. Data collection included gathering information about sociodemographics, family history of BC, the perceived personal risk for BC, awareness and attitude towards BC genes and the women's interest in BC genes testing. Results: Of the included women (n=599), 19.5% perceived higher risk for BC development, significantly more among < 40 years of age, and with positive family history of BC before 50 years of age. The participants demonstrated a poor level of awareness regarding the inheritance, risk, and availability of BC genetic testing. The median summated knowledge score was 1.0 (out of 7 points) with a knowledge deficit of 87.8%. The level of knowledge showed significant decline with age (> 40 years). Of the included women 54.7% expressed an interest in BC genetic testing for assessing their BC risk. Multivariate regression model showed that being middle aged (Odds Ratio 'OR'=1.88, confidence intervals 'C.I'=1.14-3.11), with higher knowledge level (OR=1.67, C.I=1.08-2.57) and perceiving higher risk for BC (OR=2.11, C.I=1.61-2.76) were the significant positive correlates for Saudi women interest in BC genetic testing. Conclusion: Saudi women express high interest in genetic testing for BC risk despite their poor awareness. This great interest may reflect the presence of inappropriate information regarding BC genetic testing and its role in risk analysis.
This study explores the effects of technology innovation activity on a profitability and the default risk of firms. Sample for this study consists of manufacturing firms listed on the Korea Stock Exchange from 1st January 2000 to 31st December 2007. We use of R&D ratio as a proxy of technology innovation activity. The default probability proxied for the default risk of firms is measured by the Merton's (1974) model where accounts for a market value of firms and a volatility of it. This study provides evidence that technology innovation activity has a positive effect on a profitability, but a negative effect on the default risk of firms. Our study also finds the significant mediation effect of profitability that the enhancement in profitability resulting from technology innovation activity lowers the default risk of firms.

Background: Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among females and also the most preventable. In the literature there is abundant evidence that awareness regarding cervical cancer and its prevention is low in the developing countries. Medical students are the future health professionals and can play an important role in increasing awareness among the general population. To assess the knowledge regarding symptoms, risk factors and prevention of cervical carcinoma among medical students in th Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the present study was planned. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted using a self-administered questionnaire with students at the College of Medicine, King Faisal University, Al-Ahsa, KSA, from December 2012 to May 2013. Results: The responses of 188 students (males 111, females 77) in their second, third, fourth, and fifth years were recorded and used in the data analysis. The majority of the students were not aware of the early warning signs, symptoms and risk factors. On average, only 43.7% males and 56% of females were aware about the early signs and symptoms whereas 51.4% males and 57.8% females had knowledge about the risk factors of cervical cancers. Some 55% males and 46.8% females were unable to select the correct answer regarding human papilloma virus (HPV) infection as the cause of cervical cancer. Majority of the students (67%) were not aware about the availability of vaccine against HPV. Conclusions: Lack of knowledge regarding early signs and symptoms, risk factors and prevention of cervical cancer was observed in the present study.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to survey male high school students on their MERS(Middle East Respiratory Syndrome)-related knowledge, risk perception, and health behaviors and to identify the factors affecting health behaviors during the MERS outbreak in Korea. Methods: The subjects in this study were 144 students in a male high school. Data were collected through self-reported questionnaires in July, 2015. The collected data were analyzed by ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: The proportion of correct answers to questions testing MERS-related knowledge was 71.6% among male high school students; their health behaviors were rated at 48.9%; and their risk perception rate was 1.8 out of 4. There was a positive correlation between knowledge, risk perception, and health behaviors. Knowledge and risk perception explained 15.1% of the variance in health behaviors. Conclusion: To improve students' health behaviors, their risk perception and knowledge over MERS should be strengthened. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and implement efficient and feasible MERS education programs for high school students.
Purpose: This study was designed to identify the incidence risk of cardicerebrovascular disease (CVD) among male bus drivers, and to examine and compare the predictors of their health behavior according to the level of CVD incidence risk. Methods: The convenience sample of 222 male bus drivers were recruited from a bus company located in Jeonnam province. Data were collected from self-reported questionnaires and annual medical examination records from 2010. The CVD incidence risk was calculated based on the risk criteria for industrial workers. Results: The 26.6% and 26.1% of the participants were in the moderate and high risk group, respectively. The 72% of the participants were in the precontemplation stage and reported no intention to change their unhealthy lifestyles. Stepwise multiple regression analyses showed that current smoking, excessive alcohol drinking, physical inactivity and lack of knowledge were negative predictors of good health behavior in the normal/low risk group (Adj $R^2$=.443). Heavy alcohol drinking, current smoking, physical inactivity and dyslipidemia were reported by the moderate/high risk group (Adj $R^2$=.427). Conclusion: This study suggested that targeted education and counseling are needed to modify unhealthy lifestyles such as alcohol consumption, smoking and exercise among middle aged male drivers. Especially, dyslipidemia should be managed among those who are at risk for CVD.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the knowledge and learning needs on cardiac rehabilitation of coronary artery bypass graft(CABG) patients. Method: The subjects consisted of 100 CABG patients at A hospital in Seoul. Data were collected by the two different kind of questionnaires which measure knowledge and learning needs on cardiac rehabilitation of CABG patients. The subjects responded the questionnaire on knowledge before CABG and that on learning needs before their discharge. Result: The mean score of knowledge on cardiac rehabilitation was 68.54. Knowledge on risk factor, nature of disease, diet, daily activity, medication, post operative care were great in order. The mean score of learning needs on cardiac rehabilitation was 4.28. Learning needs on diet, medication, nature of disease, post operative care, daily activity, risk factor were great in order. There were significant differences in knowledge according to occupation, economic status and family history(p=.021, p=.017, p=.023). There was a positive correlation between knowledge and learning needs(r=.3009, p=.002). Conclusion: Level of knowledge on cardiac rehabilitation of CABG patients is low and knowledge on postoperative care is the lowest, and learning needs are great in ail categories.

Along with the recent development of Social Network Service (SNS), such as Facebook and Twitter, social commerce market is expanding rapidly. As much, understanding consumers' purchase intention in social commerce becomes important. This study attempted to investigate the factors of consumers' purchase intention, and the effects of these determinants(price discount, perceived risk and product review) on consumer's purchasing intension in social commerce networks. Also, the interaction effects between these factors on consumer's purchasing intension were studied. The results showed that the effect of perceived risk on consumer's purchase intention found to be significantly negative. The interaction effect between price discount and perceived risk, and the interaction effect between price discount and review were meaningful on consumers' purchase intention. It indicates that the important factor for consumers to purchase products in social commerce is not just price discount but perceived risk, and that review which consumers think is manipulated has negative effect on purchase intention.
Purpose: This study aimed to determine the relationships between particulate matter risk perception, knowledge, and perceived barriers and health-promoting behaviors among college students. Methods: Data for this cross-sectional study were collected from September 1 to 30, 2017. The study sample consisted of 85 students from a university, Seoul. Students not living in the Seoul metropolitan area during the spring 2017 semester were excluded from participation. Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to identify relationships among study variables. Results: A significant positive correlation existed between particulate matter risk perception and health-promoting behaviors related to particulate matter (r= .51, p< .001). Among the risk perception subdomains, attention (r= .47, p< .001) and health effect (r= .55, p< .001) showed strong positive relationships with health-promoting behaviors. No significant relationships were found between knowledge (r= .12, p= .288) or perceived barriers (r= -.12, p= .264) and health-promoting behaviors related to particulate matter. Conclusion: Based on the study results, strategies for enhancing particulate matter risk perception are needed to increase the level of health-promoting behaviors related to particulate matter among college students.
Background: Breast cancer is the second most cause of death (1.38 million, 10.9% of all cancer) worldwide after lung cancer.
