비대칭 형상 압연 공정에 대한 연구 (Study on the Irregular Shape Rolling Process)

  • In this study cold rolling process for the irregular cross-sectional shape has been investigated. The product analyzed in present study is the steel cutter, which is frequently used to cut the desired shape on leather. Because steel cutter always has a irregular cross-section, after rolling process the workpiece is severely bended to every direction. The bending of the workpiece affects the processed performed after rolling such as heat treatment and grinding, then that of the workpiece becomes more severe. In this study, therefore, to prevent the bending of the workpiece to the left and right sides. rigid-plastic finite element method has been utilized and in order to find optimal roll geometry rapidly, one dimensional equal interval search technique has been also introduced. By using both rigid plastic finite element method and optimum technique, cold rolling process for the irregular cross-sectional shape has been successfully investigated.

  • In rigid-plastic finite element method, there is a heavy computation time and convergence problem. In this study, static-explicit rigid-plastic finite element method will be introduced. This method is the way that restrict the convergence interval. In result, convergence problem and computation time due to large non-linearity in the existing numerical analysis method were no longer a critical problem. It is expected that various results from the numerical analysis will give very useful information for the design of tools in sheet metal forming process.

  • In square die extrusion, flow guide and ide land play important roles for controlling the metal flow in die design. In the present work, the flow guide and the die land are considered for the die construction. Based on ALE description , rigid-viscoplastic finite element analysid is carried out to assess the effects of process and die design parameters. The thermal state affects greatly the product quality in hot extrusion. in the present work, the temperature distribution is also analyzed in theframwork of rigid-viscoplastic finite element computation. As a computational example, hot square die extrusion with flow guide and die land has been analyzed for the profile of a H section.

  • In this paper, an application-oriented approach to piercing analysis in automatic forging simulation by the rigid-viscoplastic finite element mehtod is presented. In the presented approach, the accumulated damage is traced and the piercing instant is determined when the accumulated damage reaches the critical damage value. A method of obtaining the critical damage value by comparing the tensile test result with the analysis one is given. The presented approach is verified by experiments and applied to automatic simulation of a sequence of 6-stage forging processes.

  • The characteristics of noise and vibration by a heavy impact source was studied. The triggering method was used for increasing the reliability and stability to measure the level of sound pressure. sound intensity and vibration acceleration. A simple finite element model and a rigid body analysis method were suggested to calculate the natural frequencies of the multi-layer floor system. The results show that the resilient materials decrease the natural frequency of the reinforced concrete slab, make a resonance with dominant driving frequency in the low frequency region, and increase the vibration and noise level. A simple finite element model and rigid body models was suggested to calculate the natural frequencies of the floor systems.

  • The multi-stage deep-drawing processes including normal-drawing, reverse-drawing, and re-drawing are analyzed by use of the rigid-plastic finite element method. Computational results on the punch/die loads and thickness distributions were compared with the experiments of the current drawing processes. Deep-drawing processes of the redesigned shell to improve the specific strength and stiffness were simulated with the numerical method developed. With varying several process parameters such as blank size, corner radii of tools, and clearances, the simulation results showed the improvements in reducing the forming loads. Also forming defects were found during simulation and appropriate blank size could be verified.

  • We simulated an electric upsetting process by the rigid-thermoviscoplastic finite element method. Several engineering assumptions were made to calculate the heat generation due to the electric resistance. The skin effect of the bar was taken into account for the heat generation. The approach was applied to simulate an artificial electric upsetting process for the exhaust valve of the ship engine.

  • In this paper, we apply a three-dimensional rigid-plastic finite element method to simulate an unsteady-state roll forming process. A typical roll forming process is investigated from the standpoint of computer simulation and its realistic analysis model is proposed. The material is considered as bulk material and discretized into hexahedral finite elements. The presented approach is applied to simulating the roll forming process of straight stringer used for aircraft structure.
