RFID 리더용 광대역 원편파 안테나 설계 (Design of a broadband CP antenna for RFID readers)

  • 본 논문에서는 UHF 대역 RFID 리더용 원편파 안테나 설계 방법에 대해 연구하였다. 안테나는 원형 마이크로스트립 패치를 이중급전하여 우선원편파를 발생시키는 구조이다. 이중급전을 위해 90도 하이브리드 결합기를 이용하였다. 결합기 출력과 원형패치는 동선으로 연결되고 동선에 의해 발생되는 유도성 리액턴스 성분을 보상하기 위해 원형패치에 링형 슬롯을 삽입하였다. 제안된 안테나 구조의 파라미터들이 안테나 특성에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 국내를 포함한 북미 UHF RFID용 주파수 대역(902-928 MHz)에 적합하도록 파라미터 값들을 조정하였다. 안테나를 제작하고 특성을 실험한 결과 VSWR < 2인 대역은 854-993 MHz이었다. 제작된 안테나를 상용 RFID 리더에 연결하고 태그 인식성능을 점검하여 양호한 성능을 확인하였다.

배드민턴화의 굴곡성(Flexibility) 차이가 점프 스매싱 후 언더클리어 동작시 하지에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Badminton Shoe Forefoot Flexibility during the Under Clear Quick Lunge from a Jump Smashing)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect that difference in forefoot of shoe flexibility during the quick lunge from a jump smashing on the lower limbs and the plantar pressure distribution. For this 10 elite badminton players with over 10 years experience and right handed participated. Two kinds of badminton shoes were selected and tested mechanical testing for the forefoot flexibility. Motion analysis, ground reaction forces and plantar pressure distribution were recorded. It was required to conduct lunge movement after jumping smashing as possible as high. Photo sensor was located in 3 meter away from standing position and its height was 40 cm. Subjects were conducted to return original position after touching the sensor as under clear movement as possible as fast. Forefoot stiffness had an effect on shoe peak bending degree and peak bending angular velocity in propulsion phase. Forefoot flexibility had an effect on ankle plantar flexion and knee flexion moment. It appears that joint power on lower limb and peak plantar pressure were not influenced by the flexibility of shoes.

휴대전화 파지방법이 엄지손가락의 운동학적 변인과 근활성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Smartphone Holding Techniques on Kinematic Variables and Muscle Activities in the Thumb during Tapping Numbers)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine whether there are significant differences in kinematic variables and muscle activities of the thumb between two smartphone holding techniques. Twelve right handed university students(age $25.4{\pm}3.9yrs$, height $176.2{\pm}5.1cm$, weight $75.8{\pm}11.4kg$, hand length $19.2{\pm}1.1cm$) who have no musculoskeletal disorder were recruited as the subjects and had experience in using a smartphone for more than one year. Maximum joint angle, angular velocity, muscular activities were determined for each trial. For each dependent variable, paired t-test was used to determine whether there were significant differences between one hand (OH) and two hands ([TH], ${\rho}$ <.05). The results of this study showed that there were no significant differences between OH and TH in the maximum joint angle of the thumb. The angular velocity of each joint was not statistically significant between OH and TH. The statistical analysis revealed that the main effect of the smartphone holding conditions was significant in the peak normalized muscular activities of FDI and APL. Although smartphone holding technique doesn't affect on mobility and movement of the thumb joint, it may affect on active degree of the thumb and the upper extremity in directly and indirectly.

시열과제 수행 시 신호형태에 따른 운동수행력과 P300 분석 (Analysis of Motor Performance and P300 during Serial Task Performance according to the Type of Cue)

  • PURPOSE: The study was designed to investigate the effects of visual, auditory, and visuoauditory cues on simple Serial Task Performance in heaithy adults. METHODS: Sixty-three right-handed heaithy adults without history of neurological dysfunction were participated. A modified version of the Serial Reaction Time Task (SRTT) using five blocks of perceptual motor sequences was administered. The blocked paradigm consisted of the five blocks with randomly repeated 8 digit sequences with 5 repetition. Three types of sensory cue were employed: visual cue, auditory cue and visuoauditory cue. All subjects were assigned to press the matched botton as quickly and accurately as possible, when one of 8 stimulations was presented(one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight). The reaction time, accuracy, and P300 latency were measured during serial task performance. The mean reaction time(ms), accuracy(%), and P300 latency(ms) were compared between three types of cue using ANOVA. RESULTS: The reaction time to auditory cue was significantly longer than visual and visuoauditory cues(p<.001). And accuracy to auditory cue was significantly lower than visual and visuoauditory cues(p<.001). All P300 latency(at Fz, Cz, Pz) were significantly longer than to visual and visuoauditory cues(p<.05). CONCLUSION: It is suggested that type of cues influence in choice reaction. These data may helpful in designing not only effective motor learning training programs for healthy persons but also reeducation programs for patients with neurological dysfunction.

Functional Neuroimaging of General Fluid Intelligencein Prodigies

  • Understanding how and why people differ is a fundamental, if distant, goal of research efforts to bridge psychological and biological levels of analysis. General fluid intelligence (gF) is a major dimension of individual differences and refers to reasoning and novel problemsolving ability. A conceptual integration of evidence from cognitive (behavioral) and anatomical studies suggeststhat gF should covary with both task performance and neural activity in specific brain systems when specific cognitive demands are present, with the neural activity mediating the relation between gF and performance. Direct investigation of this possibility will be a critical step toward a mechanistic model of human intelligence. In turn, a mechanistic model might suggest ways to enhance gF through targeted behavioral or neurobiological intervent ions, We formed two different groups as subjects based on their scholarly attainments. Each group consists of 20 volunteers(aged 16-17 years, right-handed males) from the National Gifted School and a local high school respectively. To test whether individual differences in general intelligence are mediated at a neural level, we first assessed intellectual characteristics in 40 subjects using standard intelligence tests (Raven's Advanced Progressive Matrices, Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking) administered outside of the MR scanner. We then used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRl) to measure task-related brain activity as participants performed three different kinds of computerized reasoning tasks that were intended to activate the relevant neural systems. To examine the difference of neural activity according to discrepancy in general intelligence, we compared the brain activity of both extreme groups (each, n=10) of the participants based on the standard intelligence test scores. In contrast to the common expectation, there was no significant difference of brain region involved in high-g tasks between both groups. Random effect analysis exhibited that lateral prefrontal, anterior cingulate and parietal cortex are associated with gF. Despite very different task contents in the three high-g-low-g contrasts, recruitment of multiple regions is markedly similar in each case, However, on the task with high 9F correlations, the Prodigy group, (intelligence rank: >99%) showed higher task-related neural activity in several brain regions. These results suggest that the relationship between gF and brain activity should be stronger under high-g conditions than low-g conditions.

개구면 결합 원형분극 패치 안테나의 소형화 (Miniaturization of Aperture-Coupled RHCP Patch Antenna)

  • 본 논문에서는 GPS(Global Positioning System)용 개구면 결합 소형 RHCP(Right-Handed Circular Polaization) 패치 안테나를 설계하였다. GPS 안테나의 원형분극 특성은 정사각형 패치면의 한 대각선 방향의 양 모서리에 섭동을 부여하여 구현하였고, GPS 안테나의 소형화는 패치면의 네 변의 중심에 일정한 길이의 슬릿을 삽입하여 등가적으로 표면전류의 경로를 증가하는 것으로 구현하였다. 안테나의 급전구조는 단일 급전구조로서 원형분극 안테나의 소형화가 용이하고 상대적으로 넓은 대역폭 특성을 갖는 접지도체에 십자형 개구면을 갖는 개구면 결합구조를 적용하였다. 해석 및 측정 결과, 소형 RHCP 안테나는 소형화 기법을 적용하기 이전에 비해 패치면적을 약 $42.7\%$ 줄였고, 대신-10dB 대역폭과 3dB 축비대역폭은 각각 $56\%,\;38.5\%$ 감소하였다. 또한 제한 구조를 상용 GPS 세라믹 안테나에 적용한 결과, 3dB 축비대역폭이 $56\%$ 줄었지만 패치면적을 $42.9\%$ 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문을 통해, 메타 재질 특성을 가지는 CRLH-TL 구조를 이용하는 새로운 개념의 초광대역(UWB) 대역 통과 여파기의 설계법이 제시된다. 기존의 주기성 혹은 유한 다단 구조의 CRLH-TL가 아닌, 단일 구조만을 이용하여, 관내 파장의 0.25배 길이의 공진기를 기반으로 하는 여파기에서 가질 수 없는 초소형 구조를 형성한다. 특히 초광대역 통과 특성을 위해 필요한 강결합은 인터디즈틀 평행 결합 선로 양단의 접지된 스터브 구조를 통해 구현된다. 제안하는 설계 방안의 타당함은 전자기 모의 시험과 제작품의 측정을 통해 증명되며, 여파기의 전체크기가 '관내 파장/9.4'로의 축소, UWB 100 % 이상의 통과 대역폭, 1 dB 이하의 삽입 손실, 높은 평탄도의 군지연 등의 주파수 영역 특성 결과를 보인다.

(Hydroxypropyl)celluloses와 에스테르 및 에테르 유도체들의 합성과 Cholesteric 상의 특성 (Synthesis and Cholesteric Mesophase Properties of (Hydroxypropyl)celluloses, Their Ester and Ether Derivatives)

  • 몰치환도 (MS)가 다른 두 종류의 (hydroxypropyl)celluloses (HPCs)와 이들로부터 3가지의 유도체, 즉 (acetoxypropyl)celluloses, (ethoxypropyl)celluloses와 (cyanoethoxypropyl) celluloses들을 합성함과 동시에 이들의 열 및 액정상의 특성을 검토하였다. 모든 시료들은 상온에서 cholesteric 상의 반사색깔들을 나타내며 온도상승에 의해 광학 pitch(λ$_{ms}$ )가 증가하는 우측방향의 나선구조를 형성하였다. 그러나, 검토한 유도체들의 액정상에서 등방상액체로의 전이온도($T_{i}$)와 유리전이온도, 동일한 온도에서 액정상이 나타내는 λ$_{m}$ 의 크기 그리고 λ$_{m}$ 의 온도의존성은 MS와 HPC에 도입된 측쇄의 길이 및 화학구조에 크게 의존하였다. 이들의 결과를 치환기의 극성과 유연성의 차이 그리고 주쇄들간의 거리 등과의 관련하에서 검토하였다. 모든 유도체들에 있어서, λ$_{m}$ 값들은 액정상의 $T_{i}$보다 높은 온도에서 무한대로 접근하므로 온도에 의한 나선방향의 역전은 검출되지 않았다.

의도적인 드로우 샷과 페이드 샷이 골프 스윙 역학에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effect of Intentional Draw & Fade Shots on Golf Swing Mechanics)

  • Intentional draw and fade shots could be good weapons for lowering golf score. But how to make such shots? To investigate deterministic variables generating different projectile paths of shots in square stance was the purpose of this study. Ten right-handed male collegiate athletes, showing 1.3 of averaged handicap, participated in this study. They were asked to intentionally perform three different shots such as the straight shot(control condition), draw shot, and fade shot. Swing path, pelvis rotation angle, thorax rotation angle and left forearm supination angle were determined for dependent variables on impact event at each trial. For statistical analysis one-way repeated measures ANOVA were used. The results showed that swing path was one of main factor making differences among three kind of shots. Straight shot vs. Draw shot, Straight shot vs. Fade shot and Draw shot vs. Fade shot showed differences on swing path. And left forearm supination angle revealed significant difference between draw shot and fade shot, showing a significant larger angle of draw shot than fade shot. No other significant difference was detected for the other variables. We found that the shot characteristics were influenced primarily by swing path and left forearm supination angle.

동중국해에 분포하는 갈치(Trichiurus lepturus)의 연령과 성장 (Age and Growth of Largehead Hairtail Trichiurus lepturus in the East China Sea)

  • Age, growth, and maturity of Trichiurus lepturus were estimated based on right-handed sagittal otoliths belonging to 1,031 fish collected from January to December 2007 in the East China Sea. The outer margins of the otolith were examined and showed that an opaque zone was formed once per year. Marginal increments in otoliths formed as annual rings between June and August, at the beginning of the spawning season. Fish growth was expressed by the von Bertalanffy growth equation, as follows: $L_t=494.0$ ($1-e^{-0.2453(t+-0.4822)}$) for females and $L_t=330.4$ ($1-e^{-0.4292(t+0.7513)}$) for males, where $L_t$ is the total length in mm and t is age in years. The growth rates of males and females were significantly different (P<0.05).The age composition ranged mostly between ages 2 and 4, and the oldest individuals were 4 years old in males and 6 years old in females. Finally, the age composition of largehead hairtail was compared with data from the 1970s and is discussed in the context of environmental changes.
