In this paper, a novel dual-band power amplifier using metamaterials has been realized with one RF GaN HEMT diffusion metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor. The CRLH TL can lead to metamaterial transmission line with the dual-band tuning capability. The dual-band operation of the CRLH TL is achieved by the frequency offset and the nonlinear phase slope of the CRLH TL for the matching network of the power amplifier. We have managed only the second- and third-harmonics to obtain the high efficiency with the CRLH TL in dual-band. Also, the proposed power amplifier has been realized by using the harmonic control circuit for not only the output matching network, but also the input matching network for better efficiency. Two operating frequencies are chosen at 900 MHz and 2140 MHz in this work. The measured results show that the output power of 39.83 dBm and 35.17 dBm was obtained at 900 MHz and 2140 MHz, respectively. At this point, we have obtained the power-added efficiency (PAE) and IMD of 60.2 %, -23.17dBc and 67.3 %, -25.67dBc at two operation frequencies, respectively.

In this paper, a compact UWB (Ultra Wideband) BPF(Band-Pass Filter) with dual notched bands is proposed using a hybrid Composited Right-Left Handed (CRLH) and Defected Ground Structure (DGS). To avoid the interferences such as Wireless LAN (Center frequency: 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz), the CRLH is employed to obtain the dual notched bands and the DGS is used to obtain the wide stop-band above the pass-band. The fabricated filter has good performance and has more than 30dB rejection at the center frequency of 2.4 GHz and 5.8GHz. The dual notched bands are easily movable by changing the CRLH parameter. Also the insertion loss is less than 0.4dB in the lower pass-band and 0.7dB in the upper pass-band, and it has small group delay variation less than 0.6ns. The size of the fabricated filter is very compact (17mm*17mm).

Transmit(Tx)/Receive(Rx) dual band operation microstrip array for X-band satellite communications are designed, fabricated, and measured in this paper. The microstrip array antenna has Right Handed Circular Polarization(RHCP) for Tx band and Left Hand Circular Polarization(LHCP) for Rx band. Two stacked patches are used for wideband characteristics and corner-truncated square patches are adopted for a circular polarization. To enhance bandwidth characteristics of a circular polarization, $2{\times}2$ sequential rotation array are applied. From the measured result, $8{\times}12$ microstrip array antennas have a good agreement with those of the simulation. Therefore the array antennas are applicable to military satellite communication antennas.

In this paper, a new compact dual-band unequal power divider is suggested. Instead of the quarter wavelength transmission line(TX-line)s for the branches of the conventional Wilkinson's power divider, we use composite right- and left-handed(CRLH) phase-shift lines and can reduce the physical length. With the non-linear dispersion of the meta-meterial, each branch in the proposed divider is designed to have $+90^{\circ}$ and $-90^{\circ}$ at $f_1$ and $f_2$ respectively. To validate the proposed method, the performances of the circuit and full-wave simulation results are shown with the CRLH dispersion curve. The measurement results are compared with the simulation results. Also, the size reduction effect by the proposed scheme is addressed.

In this paper, SIW-based $2{\times}4$ uniform array antenna with a sequentially fed 8-way power divider with an equal division characteristic is proposed for an application of X-band satellite communication. In particular, sequential feeding structures with a progressive phase difference of 90 degrees between the nearest elements have been suggested to protect the cancellation of electric fields due to the array alignments and to enhance the purity of RHCP(Right-Handed Circular Polarization). The obtained results according to the return loss bandwidth, RHCP antenna gain, axial ratio bandwidth are 760 MHz ranging from 7.90 to 8.66 GHz under the criterion of less than -10 dB, 14.3 dBic at 8.3 GHz, and 600 MHz from 8.15 to 8.75 GHz, respectively. In addition, it is observed that the equal-division characteristic of SIW-based 8-way power divider is approximately -9.2 dB in all ports.

Purpose: This study is to compare the distinct brain activation between implicit and explicit memory retrieval tasks using a non-invasive blood-oxygenation-level-dependent (BOLD) functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI). Materials & Methods: We studied seven right-handed, healthy volunteers aged 21-25 years(mean;22 years) were scanned under a 1.5T Signa Horizon Echospeed MR imager(GE Medical Systems, Milwaukee, U.S.A.). During the implicit and explicit memory retrieval tasks of previously teamed words under the conceptual processing, we acquired fMRI data using gradient-echo EPI with 50ms TE, 3000ms TR, 26cm${\times}$26cm field-of-view, 128${\times}$128 matrix, and ten slices(6mm slice thickness, 1 mm gap) parallel to the AC-PC(anterior commissure and posterior commissure) line. By using the program of statistical parametric mapping(SPM99), functional activation maps were reconstructed and quantified.
Changes in CD, ORD and uv-spectra during the mutarotation of poly(trans-5-methyl-L-proline) (PTMP) were studied. The forward mutarotion of PTMP occurred in strong organic acids and trifluoroethanol, while the reverse mutarotation was observed by dilution of the trifluoroethanol solution with excess aliphatic alcohols. The changes in CD, ORD and uv-spectra during the forward and reverse mutarotation proceeded paralell to those found for the mutarotation of polyproline. The chemical shift of the ${\alpha}CH-$proton was shifted downfield about 0.3 ppm during the forward mutarotation. The reduced viscosity for the forward mutarotation increased from 0.15 to 0.26 (dl/g) during 5 days. The equilibrium between form I and form II was estabilished in an appropriate solvent mixture. All changes in solution properties mentioned above are similar to those found for polypoline. These results support that the two forms of PTMP are the same conformations as polyproline form I and form II, i. e., a right-handed helix with all cis amide bonds and a lefthanded helix with all trans amide bonds.

This paper describes the design and analysis of five-element planar array antenna of an anti-jamming satellite navigation system. We propose a design of multi-layer patch antenna for Global Positioning System(GPS) $L_1/L_2$ dual bands. The proposed antenna has two ports feeding network with a hybrid chip coupler for a broad bandwidth with Right-Handed Circular Polarization(RHCP). The measurement results show the bore-sight gains of 1.10 dBic($L_1$) and 0.37 dBic($L_2$) for the center element. The bore-sight gains of an edge element are 0.99 dBic($L_1$) and -0.57 dBic($L_2$). At a fixed elevation angle of $30^{\circ}$, antennas show average gains of -2.08 dBic ($L_1$) and -5.33 dBic($L_2$) for the center element, and average gains of -0.40 dBic($L_1$) and -2.09 dBic($L_2$) for the edge elements. The results demonstrate that the proposed array antenna is suitable for anti-jamming applications.
Purpose: High-pressure injection(HPI) injury is an injury caused by accidental injection of substances by industrial equipment. HPI injury of the hand is a serious injury that can be potentially devastating. There have been a number of publications on the results of its treatment and its functional outcome of these hands. Unfortunately, the clinical outcomes were unsatisfactory following an initial treatment approach of digital expression of the injection material, elevation, soaks, dressing changes, and antibiotics. Methods: A 43-year-old right handed man sustained a high pressure injection injury to the tip of the left index finger. The injected material was industrial paint thinner. Tissue necrosis was noted at the pulp of the finger. Several debridements and irrigation were required. A pedicled chest flap transfer was performed on the eighteenth day after injury as the dorsal nail complex remained viable. This is a retrospective review of our experience with high-pressure finger injection injury caused by paint. A literature review, retrospective chart and radiologic review were presented. Results: Follow-up length was about 1 year. The injuried hand was left nondominant hand, the index. Patient complaints were cold intolerance, paresthesia, contact pain, and impairment of activities of daily living. Conclusion: The outcome of high-pressure injection injuries of the hand is affected by many factors. The time between injury and operative treatment has been regarded as a key determinant by a number of authors. The nature of the injected material is probably more important. It has been noted by many authors that injuries with paints have a worse outcome than those with oil or grease. This study confirms the fact that high-pressure injection injury caused by paint thinner to the hand is a significant problem. Virtually a patient suffers sequelae of this injury. The injury has significant repercussions for future function and reintegration into the work force.
Purpose: The purpose of the present current study was to examine control of upper limb multi-joint movements with differential coordination stability. To achieve the goals of the study, torque analyses were utilized to answer questions about how torque components were differed among various elbow-wrist coordination patterns. Methods: Eight self-reported right-handed college students (3 males and 5 females, mean age=20.6 yr) were volunteered. The task required participants to rhythmically coordinate the flexion-extension motions of their elbow and wrist with coordination relationship of $0^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, and $180^{\circ}$relative phases between the two joints. Mean relative phase and phase stability (standard deviation of relative phase) were computed to for analysisze of overall coordination performance. To determine the figure out characteristics of torque components in elbow and wrist joints, impulse values of muscle torque (MT) and interactive torque (IT) and MT as a percentage of cycle duration (MT-PCD) were analyzed. Results: Torque results showed that the proximal elbow joint generated motions with mainly muscle efforts regardless of coordination patterns, while the distal wrist joint adjusted the coordination patterns by changing amount of MT. Impulse analyses showed that the least stable $90^{\circ}$ pattern was performed by utilizing a similar coordination strategy of the most stable $0^{\circ}$ pattern. Conclusion: The present current study suggests that the roles of distal and proximal joints differ in order to achieve various multi-joint coordination movements. This study provides information for use in gives an idea to development of rehabilitation or training programs for to persons with an impaired upper limb motor ability.
