논에서 벼 대체작물의 전작 재배가 조경밀의 곡물 생산성과 밀가루의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pre-cropping with Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Alternative Crops on Grain Yield and Flour Quality of Winter Wheat (Triticum aestivum L. 'Jokyung') on the Paddy Fields)

  • 벼 대체 밭작물(검정콩, 들깨, 참깨)과 연계한 밀 이모작 작부체계를 적용한 논에서 조경밀 생산성과 밀가루의 품질 특성을 살펴보았다. 전작으로 검정콩, 참깨, 들깨를 재배하였던 포장은 벼를 재배한 논보다 토양의 pH는 높고, 전기전도도는 낮았다. 그리고, 유효인산(Av. P2O5), Ca2+과 Mg2+ 함량은 벼를 재배하였던 토양에서보다 높았다. 밀의 생육 특성 중 간장, 수장, 수수, 수당립수는 검정콩 전작 토양에서 전반적으로 양호하였다. 하지만, 밀의 수량은 벼 전작 토양에서보다 대체작물인 검정콩이나 참깨, 들깨의 전작 토양에서 모두100 kg/10a 이상 증가하였다. 더군다나, 단백질 함량과 SDS-침전가가 검정콩, 참깨, 들깨 전작에서 모두 벼 전작에서보다 높았으며, 아밀로스 함량은 벼 전작에서보다 검정콩, 들깨 전작에서 다소 낮았다. 이러한 결과들은 논토양에서 전작으로 참깨나 콩, 들깨 등의 벼 대체 작물들의 재배는 토양의 물리화학적 특성을 개선하고 제빵공정에 좀 더 유리한 고품질의 밀을 생산하는데 이바지할 수 있음을 보여준다.

간척지 재배 벼 품종의 수량과 품질과의 관계 (Relationship between Yield and Quality of Rice Varieties Grown in Reclaimed Saline Paddy Field)

  • 간척지 논에서 고품질 쌀 생산을 위한 기초 자료를 얻고자 2001년 농업기반공사 김포간척지에서 9개 벼 품종의 수량과 단백질 함량 및 식미치의 관계를 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 쌀 수량은 식미계에 의한 식미치와 고도로 유의한 부상관(r=-0.49$^{**}$ )을 나타내었다. 수량이 낮은 수라벼의 식미치가 가장 높았고 수량이 높은 대안벼와 진품벼는 식미치가 가장 낮았다. 2. 간척지 재배 백미의 단백질 함량은 모든 품종이 7.5% 이상으로 상당히 높은 편이었는데 이는 시비와 관개용수에서 많은 질소질비료가 공급된 결과로 보여졌다. 3. 김포간척지에 적합한 벼 품종은 수량성 면에서는 대안벼, 진품벼, 신동진벼이나 품질을 고려한다면 단백질 함량이 낮고 식미치가 높은 광안벼, 수라벼, 남평벼가 적합하다고 사료되었다.

Application of a Simulation Model for Dairy Cattle Production Systems Integrated with Forage Crop Production: the Effects of Whole Crop Rice Silage Utilization on Nutrient Balances and Profitability

  • In Japan, since rice consumption has been decreasing with the westernization of Japanese eating habits, surplus paddy fields have been increasing. If these surplus paddy fields can be utilized for forage rice production as feed for animal production and excretions (feces and urine) from animal production can be applied to the paddy fields as manure, then the problems of surplus paddy fields and excretions from animal production may be solved, and the environment kept sustainable. The objectives of the present study were to apply a bio-economic model to dairy and forage rice integration systems in Japan and to examine the merit of introducing whole crop rice silage (WCRS), as well as economic and environmental effects of various economic and management options in the systems. Five simulations were conducted using this model. The use of WCRS as a home-grown feed increased environmental loads and decreased economic benefit because of the higher amount of purchased feed, when compared to the use of typical crops such as maize, alfalfa and timothy silage (simulation 1). Higher economic benefits from higher forage rice yields and higher milk production of a dairy cow were obtained (simulations 2, 3). There were no economic and environmental incentives for utilizing crude protein (CP) rich WCRS, because an increase in the CP content in WCRS led to the use of more chemical fertilizers, resulting in high production costs and nitrogen outputs (simulation 4). When evaluated under the situation of a fixed herd size, increasing forage rice yields decreased the total benefit of the production, in spite of the fact that the amount of subsidies per unit of land increased (simulation 5). It was indicated that excess subsidy support may not promote yield of forage rice. It was, however, observed in most cases that dairy and forage rice integration systems could not be economically established without subsidies.

수도 포장주변에 발생하는 노린재류와 반점미 발생 (Occurrence of Bug Species around Paddy Field and Peckey Rice)

  • 수도포장과 휴반에서 발생하는 노린재종의 분포와 반점미 발생 관계를 조사한 결과를 휴반에서 총 21종의 노린재가 채집, 분류되었으며, 그중 우점종은 가시점둥글노린재, 긴날개쐐기노린제였고, 수도포장에서는 11종이 동정되었으며 우점종은 긴날개쐐기노린재, 설상무늬장님 노린재, 가시점동글노린재이었다. 노린재 종별 반점미 발생율은 가시점둥글노린재가 가장 심하여 34.7%였고 그 다음은 붉은잡초노린재로 2.7%였다. 노린재가 주로 벼의 유숙기를 중심으로 출수기에서 황숙기에 피해를 주었을 때 반점미 발생이 많았고, 품종별로는 극조생 또는 조생종 품봉인 태백벼, 소백벼, 삼강벼 등에서 심하였다. 지역별 반점미 발생은 조생종 품종이 재배되는 포천등 내장산간지에서 많았다.

Decomposition and $^{15}N$ Fate of Rice Straw in Paddy Soil

  • The rice straw managements are essential for maintaining soil fertility as well as reducing chemical fertilizer application in paddy field. A field experiment was conducted on moderately well draining alluvial paddy soil to investigate the decomposition pattern of rice straw. The mesh bags containing the rice straw harvested in the previous year were placed at soil surface and buried into around 10cm depth and recovered periodically for determining the straw decomposition. Pot experiments were conducted to investigate the fates of N released from $^{15}$ N-labeled rice straw under different levels of N fertilizer application. The overall decomposition patterns of rice straw were similar for the two incorporation depths in transplanted paddy field. The straw incorporated at transplanting date showed weight loss of about 50%, 70% and 90% after 2 months, 5 months, and 2 years, respectively. The decompositions of straw cell wall components showed somewhat different pattern. The decompositions of cellulose and silica were similar to that of dry weight while the decomposition of lignin was slower than that of cellulose and silica. N was released from rice straw 42% and 65 % of the initial N after one month and after five months, respectively. P release was faster than N release. Recoveries of rice straw-$^{15}$ N by rice plants were 10.2, 13.4 and 14.9% in 0, 120 and 240 mg N pot$^{-1}$ , respectively. Soil recoveries of rice straw $^{15}$ N were 17.3, 20.6 and 18.9% in 0, 120 and 240mg N pot$^{-1}$ , respectively.

Long-term Effects of Inorganic Fertilizer and Compost Application on Rice Sustainability in Paddy Soil

  • Sustainability index was calculated to determine the best management for rice productivity under long-term inorganic fertilizer management's practices. It is based on nutrient index, microbiological index and crop index related to sustainability as soil function. Indicators for calculating sustainability index were selected by the comparison of soil properties and rice response in paddy soil with fertilization. Total twenty two indicators were determined to assess nutrient index, microbiological index and crop index in order to compare the effect of different fertilization. The indices were applied to assess the sustainability with different inorganic fertilizer treatments such as control, N, NK, NP, NPK, NPK+Si, and NPK+Compost. The long-term application of compost with NPK was the highest sustainability index value because it increased nutrient index, microbial index and crop index. The use of chemical fertilizers resulted in poor soil microbial index and crop index, but the treatments like NP, NPK, and NPK+Si were maintained sustainability in paddy soil. These results indicate that application of organic and chemical fertilizer could be a good management to improve rice sustainability in paddy soil.

논에 서식하는 거미의 조사(I) (Survey on the Spiders of the Rice Paddy Field ( I ))

  • 논에 서식하는 거미의 밀도를 조사하기 위해 1975년 11월 4일부터 11일 사이에 전북지방의 답작지대에서 $1m^2$의 면적내에 서식하는 거미를 채집하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 늦가을 논에 서식하는 거미의 우점종은 황갈애접시거미 (Gnathonarium dentatum), 황산적거미(Piratasubpiraticus), 혹황갈애접시거미(Gnathonarium gibberum), 등줄애접시거미(Oedothorax insecticeps)이다. 2. 단위면적$(1m^2)$당의, 평균서식밀도는 이리에서 125 마리, 진안 102마리, 부안 133마리, 대장 58마리였다. 3. 논거미로서 혹황갈애접시거미 (Gnathonarium gibberum), 착살가랑잎꼬마거미 (Enoplognatha japonica), 톱니애접시거미(Erigone prominens), 혹갈애접시거미(Erigonidium graminicola) 여덟점꼬마거미(Theridion octomaculaculatum) 들늑대거미 (Lycosa pseudoannulata), 가는줄맛거미(Dolomedes angustivirgatus) 등의 7종이 추가되어 우리나라의 논거미는 55종이 된다.

한국 논토양(土壤)에서 물관리(管理)와 볏짚 시용(施用)에 따른 메탄 배출량(排出量)의 추정(推定) (Estimation of Methane Emission by Water Management and Rice Straw Application in Paddy Soil in Korea)

  • 논토양에서 물관리 및 볏짚시용이 메탄배출에 미치는 영향을 알기 위하여 물관리로는 상시담수와 간단관개의 2처리로 하고 각각에 삼요소를 대조로 하여 볏짚의 시용효과를 조사하였다. 메탄배출량은 $0.066g\;CH_4m^{-2}d^{-1}{\sim}0.455g\;CH_4 m^{-2}d^{-1}$의 범위였다. 상시담수보다 간단관개의 NPK구에서는 70%, NPK+볏짚시용구에서는 47%의 메탄 배출저감효과가 인정되었다. 간단관개조건에서 볏짚을 전량 작토에 환원한다고 가정할 때 우리나라 메탄 총배출량은 399,590톤/년으로 추정된다. 이 양은 OECD의 참고값 대비 56%, Neue와는 51%, Matthew와는 62%로 낮고 Taylor와는 118%로 높다.

가뭄사상 및 농업수리시설물이 쌀 생산량에 미치는 영향에 대한 상관 분석 (On the Linkage Between Irrigation Facilities and Rice Production Under Drought Events)

  • Drought is a disaster that causes prolonged and wide scale damage. Recently, the severity and frequency of drought occurrences, and drought damage have been increased significantly due to climate change. As a result, a quantitative study of drought factors is needed to better understand and prevent future droughts. In the case of agricultural drought, several existing studies examine the economic damage caused by droughts and their causes, but these studies are not well suited to estimating crop-oriented agricultural drought damage and the factors that absolutely affect agricultural drought. This study determines which factors most affect agricultural drought. It examines meteorological factors and those related to agricultural water supplied by irrigation facilities. Rice paddy production per unit area is lower than the average from the last two years where agricultural drought occurred. We compare the relative frequency of agricultural drought impacts with irrigation facilities, effective reservoir storage, the number of water supply facilities, and the meteorological drought index such as Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI). To identify factors that affect agricultural drought, we correlate rice paddy production anomalies with irrigation water supply for the past two years. There was a high positive correlation between rice paddy production and irrigation water usage, and there was a low or moderate negative correlation between rice paddy production anomalies compared to the average of the past two years and SPI. As a result, agricultural water supply by irrigation facilities was judged to be more influential than meteorological factors in rice paddy production. This study is expected to help local governments establish policies related to agricultural drought response.

장기저장 미곡의 성분변화 특성 (Studies on the Change of Components with Long-Term Storage of paddy)

  • In order to investigate the changes of rice qualities during 4 years storage of paddy stored in ware-house of normal temperature condition. Temperature in warehouse was changed more than 3$0^{\circ}C$ under the influence of average temperature outside of a warehouse. Water content of paddy was not increased over 15% But as average temperature in warehouse was gone up 18$^{\circ}C$ from June to September every years it was supposed that these periods were to be deterioration of rice quality. On investigation of change in paddy it was supposed that these periods were to be deterioration of rice quality. On investigation of change in paddy components during the long term storage, reducing, sugar, amylose, crude protein were increased 0.24%, 19.23%, 7.02% at enterance time to 0.5%, 20.31% 7.46% 4 years later respectively. Max viscosity final visocity and set back value by amylograph were increased 449B,U 610B.U, 161B.U to 493B.U, 715B,U 222B.U but breakdown was decreased 125B.U to 76B.U with the increase of storage period. Gel consistency of rice stored was decreased 44.7mm at enterance time to 39,9mm 4years later. Fatty acid was increased remarkably 4.5KOHmg/100g to 24.4KOHmg/100g. Germination ratio and germ activity of paddy during long-term storage were decreased 97%, 100% to 0%, 0.4% respectively, With the increase of storage period contaminated paddy by molds increased and its by bacteria decreas-ed.
