식생을 위한 다공성 콘크리트의 중성화 처리 및 양생방법에 따른 pH 저감에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on pH Reduction by Neutralization Treatment and Curing Methods of Porous Concrete for Planting)

  • This study is performed to examine pH reduction by neutralization treatment and curing condition of porous concrete using rice straw ash for planting. Test results show that pH of porous concrete without neutralization treatment in the dry and water curing is 10.34 ∼ 10.57 and 9.42 ∼ 9.72, respectively. pH of porous concrete by neutralization treatment in the dry and water curing is 9.72 ∼ 10.03 and 9.00 ∼ 9.37, respectively. Accordingly, the best method for pH reduction of porous concrete for planting is to use water curing and neutralization treatment.

볏짚 회분의 토양적용에 따른 양분 특성 변화 (Characteristics of Soil Nutrients by the Application of Rice Straw Ash)

  • In this study physical and chemical characteristics of rice straw ash (RSA) were analyzed in agricultural by-products such as the characteristics of soil pH, electric conductivity (EC), total phosphorus (T-P), available phosphate (Avail-P), and cation exchange capacity (CEC). The results showed that RSA is of mainly C in 95.74% and followed by Si > Al > P > Mg > K > Ca. The pH of RSA was high near 11 and the T-P concentration was $2,322.38{\pm}10.35mg/kg$. The specific surface area of RSA was $123.50m^2/g$, which was much lower than that of biochar. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis indicated that RSA were C and Si based crystalline. TCLP and KSLT test results implied that the heavy metal concentrations were below the environmental standards and would not impose the risks. T-P concentration increased from $225.59{\pm}12.69mg/kg$ to $593.39{\pm}17.36mg/kg$ along with RSA mixing ratio to soil from 0% to 15%. Both pH and EC values were increased with the increase of RSA ratio. The changes in Avail-P and CEC were not when RSA mixing ratio was 1%. whereas the Avail-P concentration was slightly increase when the mixing ratio was more than 5%. Additional investigation considering receiving soil characteristics based on the results of this study would help effective application of RSA to soil.

  • The construction of adobe houses in flood prone areas is a common practice. These houses collapse when hydraulic loads from flood exerts on the houses. The failure occurs because the adobe brick lacks strength. In order to improve strength of adobe brick, the effects of agriculture waste therefore rice straw, rice husk and rice husk ash as a stabilizing agent have been explored in this paper. The compressive strength test and splitting test was conducted on the adobe specimens which were stabilized with 2% rice straws, 2% rice husk and 2% rice husk ash by the dry weight of soil. The results showed the improvement in strength and elasticity of specimens containing rice straws & rice husk. Whereas with the addition of rice husk ash, the adobe loses its strength and showed plastic behavior.

유기 논농업 토양관리 기술 개발 (Development of Soil Management Technique in Organic Rice Cultivation)

  • 친환경 유기 논 농업 토양 관리 기술을 개발하기 위하여 화학비료대신 유기물원인 볏짚, 퇴비, 헤어리베치, 그리고 자재는 인광석, 석회고토분말, Ash를 사용하여 유기벼 재배 및 유기 논 농업 토양 관리 기술에 대한 효과 검정을 수행한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 수도의 시기별 생육상황은 삼요소구에 비하여 유기물원 볏짚과 퇴비처리에서 초장 및 경수가 적은 경향이고, 두과작물인 헤어리베치 시용구는 삼요소구와 거의 같거나 비슷한 경향을 보였다. 2. 토양산화환원(Eh)의 변화를 보면 처리에 상관없이 5월 30일부터 감소하기 시작하여 6월 9일에는 급속하여 낮아졌는데 (-150mv에서, -190mv) 이는 온도상승으로 인한 미생물의 활성이 증가한 것으로 생각되어진다. 3. 수량구성요소 및 수량에서 수수는 유기물원의 연용에는 차이가 나지 않았으며, 삼요구와는 약간의 차이를 보였으나, 볏짚가 퇴비처리가 헤어리 처리보다 수수가 적은 경향을 보였고, 등숙율은 삼요소구에 비하여 유기물원 처리가 공히 높은 경향을 보였고 처리간에 유의성은 인정되지 않았고, 천립중에 있어서도 유기물원 시용 여부에는 차이가 나지 않았고 삼요소구와도 차이가 없었다. 수량에 있어서 삼요소구 511kg/10a에 비해 토비시용은 98%, 퇴비99%, 헤어리베치 103%, 삼요소+퇴비 101%로 유의성은 인정되지 않았다. 4. 유기물원 시용으로 시험 후 토양의 화학성을 보면 유효인산과 치환성가리, 치환성 칼슘 등의 함량이 증가하는 반면, 공극율 및 용적밀도가 볏짚>헤어리베치>퇴비>퇴비+삼요소>삼요소>무비 순으로 토양 물리성이 양호하였다. 5. 이상의 결과를 볼 때 유기 논 농업 토양 기술개발의 관리 측면에서 일반 관행농업보다는 수량은 볏짚과 퇴비에서 감소하나 두과작물인 헤어리베치를 재배하여 시용하면 토양의 화학성과 물리성이 양호하고, 생육 및 수량도 일반관행농법과 거의 비슷하므로 유기벼 재배 및 논토양관리에서는 활용 가능성이 있는 것으로 나타났다.

DEGRADATION CHARACTERISTICS OF SOME TROPICAL FEEDS IN THE RUMEN

  • The rumen degradability of rice straw (untreated, urea-sprayed, urea-treated), grasses (Panicum maximum, Pennisetum clandestinum) and rice bran was compared. The mean in vivo organic matter digestibility of the untreated (US), urea-supplemented (SS) and urea-ammonia treated (TS) rice straw were 50.9, 53.9 and 57.4%, respectively. Rice bran contained extremely high levels of acid-insoluble ash (25.2% DM), and its OMD was 36.1%. Grasses had OMD values around 66%. Degradability measurements were performed with buffaloes using the nylon bag technique. The organic matter (OM) disappearance data were fitted to an model which was used to describe degradation pattern. The mean potentially degradable fraction for US, SS and TS was 61.5, 61.9 and 69.4%, respectively. Urea-ammonia treatment increased both the amount of OM degraded and the rate at which it was degraded in the rumen. Both grasses had similar values for degradable fraction (around 65%) and for rate constant for degradation (0.04). Rice bran contained high proportions of readily soluble material (23.9%), but the degradable OM fraction was only 13.2%. The low quality of rice bran is attributed to the contamination of rice hulls during processing.

농촌마을에서 자연발효형 화장실의 통기성 매질 이용에 관한 연구 (Utilization of the Bulking Agents for Environment-friendly Toilet in Rural Village)

  • The biodegradability test of bulking agents in feces composting process is conducted to increase the management efficiency for environment-friendly rural toilet developed by National Rural Resource Institute in 2001. In the case study through references and field study, ash, fallen leaves, and wood chips are commonly used in the ecological toilet. Extension officers and farmers prefer rice straw, fallen leaves, and chaff among the rural resources as a bulking agents in the aspect of getting and storage as the result of questionnaire survey. As the result of biodegradability test including the temperature change, $CO_2$ gas production, and C/N ratio change of composting pile under the condition of aerobic composting apparatus, rice straw and chaff are good bulking agents for environment-friendly rural toilet. It is recommended that easy getting materials among the above mentioned materials are used for bulking agents as the region and season in environment-friendly rural toilet.

볏짚 수거시기가 물리적 특성 및 사료가치에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Collection Time on Physical Characteristic and Nutritive Value of Rice Straw)

  • 본 실험은 볏짚 수거시기에 따른 물리적 특성, 사료가치, 소화율 및 기호성에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 볏짚 수거시기를 9처리 3반복(T1: 벼 수확 후 10일, T2: 벼 수확 후 25일, T3: 벼 수확 후 40일, T4: 벼 수확 후 51일, T5: 벼 수확 후 70일, T6: 벼 수확 후 85일, T7: 벼 수확 후 100일, T8: 벼 수확 후 115일, T9: 벼 수확 후 130일)으로 하여 2007년 10월부터 2008년 2월까지 경북대학교 실험포장에서 실시하였으며 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 볏짚 수거시기가 늦어짐에 따라 초장, 엽장, 녹색도는 떨어지며, 곰팡이 발생 및 건물 손실은 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 볏짚 수거시기가 늦어짐에 따라 일반성분 중 조단백질, 조지방, 함량은 떨어졌으나, 조섬유 함량은 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 그리고 조회분은 함량은 일정한 경향치를 나타내지 않았다. 반추위 소화율은 볏짚 수거시기가 늦어짐에 따라 감소하는 경향을 보였다 기호성에 있어서는 볏짚 수거시기가 진행됨에 따라 한우, 젖소, 사슴에 있어서 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때 볏짚수거 시기가 늦어지면 물리적 특성, 영양적 특성 및 기호성이 모두 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 볏짚 수거시기는 가급적 빠른 시기(수확후 $10{\sim}40$일 사이)에 이루어지는 것이 양질의 볏짚을 생산하는 방안으로 생각된다.

Comparison of nutrition, anti-nutritional factors of rice straw and microbial composition in soil according to GM and non-GM rice field

  • The study was conducted to evaluate differences of growth characteristics of rice cultivated in two different regions (Cheonan and Jeonju). It focused on nutritional composition and anti-nutritional factors of rice straw produced from 21 rice varieties including GM rice (Iksan 483). The range of general nutrition ingredient is that crude was 0.97 ~ 3.2 %, carbohydrate was 67.45 ~ 80.01 %, crude protein was 1.46 ~ 4.81 %, crude ash was 6.52 ~ 18.96 %, crude fiber was 25.77 ~ 40.02 %, NDF was 51.84 ~ 67.77 %, ADF was 27.11 ~ 40.44 %, calcium was 0.49 ~ 5.18 mg/g and phosphorous was 0.26 ~ 2.77 mg/g. The general nutritional contents of GM rice were included above range. The range of phytic acid of rice straws cultivated in Cheonan and Jeonju was 0 ~ 0.056 mg/ml and 0 ~ 0.059 mg/ml, respectively. The phytic acid content of GM was 0.033 mg/ml, which was in the range of the content of rice straw in Cheonan and Jeonju. The range of trypsin inhibitor of rice straws cultivated in Cheonan and Jeonju was 0.061 ~ 0.461 TIU/mg and 0 ~ 1.278 TIU/mg, respectively. The trypsin acid content of GM was 0.461 TIU/mg, which was in the range of the content of rice straw in Cheonan and Jeonju. In addition, we investigated microbial community from each soil sample by using metagenomics sequencing based on rRNA microbial diversity in order to inspect indirect changes of soil environment with cultivation of GM rice. Metagenomics analysis was carried out using soil samples cultivated with GM and non-GM rice for before transplanting, young panicle differentiation stage, heading stage, and ripening stage. Beta diversity of microbial community in both soil environments were calculated by using Bray-Curtis distance method and showed low value with an average of 0.24 (dissimilarity = 1). As a result, it was confirmed that the cultivation of GM does not give a significant effect on the change of microbial composition in soil. Therefore, Our study demonstrates that there is no difference in the composition of soil microorganism due to GM and non-GM rice.

Effect of Variety and Stage of Maturity on Nutritive Value of Whole Crop Rice, Yield, Botanical Fractions, Silage Fermentability and Chemical Composition

  • The effect of eight varieties of grain and forage type whole crop rice (Oryza sativa L Japonica) each harvested at four stages of maturity were investigated for morphology and yield, proportion of botanical fractions, fermentatability and chemical composition in an $8{\times}4$ factorial experiment. All crops were sown in 1997 at Saitama Prefecture, Japan under identical condition and harvested on 10, 22, 34 and 45 days after flowering in 1998. Total DM yield of forage type varieties was similar to that of the highest yield of grain type varieties. However, while yield of forage type varieties was attributed to higher proportion of straw than head, the reverse was in the case of grain type varieties. Yield in line with the proportion of head increased (p<0.001), but in contrast proportion of straw decreased (p<0.001) with the increase in maturity. Silage fermentability of grain type varieties was better than forage type varieties. Fermentability improved with the increase (p<0.001) in maturity suggesting that the moisture content should be reduced to improve fermentation quality. Forage type varieties contained higher (p<0.001) ash, crude fat (EE), organic cell wall (OCW) and acid detergent fiber (ADF), but contained lower crude protein (CP), organic cell content (OCC), CP in OCC and nitrogen-free cell wall extract (NCWFE) than the grain type varieties. The ash, CP, EE, Oa (60% digestible OCW), Ob (40% digestible OCW), OCW, ADF and acid detergent lignin (ADL) decreased (p<0.001), but OCC and NCWFE increased (p<0.001) with the increase in maturity. It is concluded that stage of maturity not only increases yield and proportion of head, but also improved the fermentation quality and increases quality chemical composition (except CP) of whole crop rice. Forage type varieties may be as good as grain type varieties in terms of yield, but fermentation quality and chemical composition may not be as good as that of grain type varieties.

국내 조사료별 반추위 내 발효특성과 온실가스 발생량에 관한 연구 (A Study on Rumen Fermentation Characteristics and Greenhouse Gas Emission of Forages in South Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 한우농가에서 주로 이용하고 있는 국내산 조사료 2종과 수입산 조사료 3종의 영양소 함량, 반추위 내 소화율, 발효특성 및 온실가스 발생량을 평가하기 위해 수행되었다. 알팔파는 조단백질 함량이 가장 높은 반면, NDF와 ADF 함량은 가장 낮았으며, 온실가스 측면에서 건물과 NDF 소화율 당 CO2 발생량이 낮았다. 한편 티모시는 건물과 NDF 소화율, 반추위 내총 VFA 함량이 가장 높았으며, 온실가스 측면에서 건물과 NDF 소화율 당 CH4 발생량이 가장 낮았다. 이상의 연구결과에서, 국내 한우농가에서 주로 이용하고 있는 조사료 중 사료가치(영양소 함량, 반추위 내 발효특성 및 간접 소화율)와 온실가스 저감 측면에서 티모시가 가장 우수한 것으로 사료된다. 따라서 국내에서 가장 많이 생산되고 있는 조사료인 이탈리안라이그라스와 볏짚의 사료가치 증진과 온실가스 저감을 위한 조사료 가공기술 개발이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
