This paper considers a reinforcement learning(RL) which deals with real environments. Most reinforcement learning studies have been made by simulations because real-environment learning requires large computational cost and much time. Furthermore, it is more difficult to acquire many rewards efficiently in real environments than in virtual ones. The most important requirement to make real-environment learning successful is the appropriate construction of the state space. In this paper, to begin with, I show the basic overview of the reinforcement learning under real environments. Next, 1 introduce a state-space construction method under real environmental which is State Partition Method. Finally I apply this method to a robot navigation problem and compare it with conventional methods.
Knowledge is a fundamental assets, therefore, the ability to create, acquire, integrate, and share knowledge has emerged as a fundamental organizational capability(Sambamurthy and Subramani, 2005). This apaper reports the results of an empirical study investigating the factors of acceptance and the moderating role of resistance in Knowledge Management Systems(KMS). The research model is based on the theory of planned behavior(TPB) and technology acceptance model(TAM). It includes the perceived usefulness instead of attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control and intention of acceptance of KMS. Also, three external variables namely task-technology fit, organizational support, and perceived rewards are added. In the research model, all hypothrses of the baseline model and the moderating effects of resistance were found to be significant. The authors also of fred several implications based chi the findings.
Quality is a critical competitive factor in today's environment because of the impact of quality on costs and delivery. Many companies regard quality as a key concept of company strategy in order to achieve the competitive edge. Measuring and reporting quality cost is the first step in quality management program. The supposition of quality cost model is that investment in prevention activities will bring rewards from reduced failure costs, and that further investment in prevention activities will show profits from reduced appraisal costs. In this study, the degree of quality cost deviation is conceptualized. This means a deviation between the ideal and present ranking in the amounts of quality cost categories. This study analysed that the effect of its deviation on quality management activity and performance variables. However, there are no difference in these variables. The major reason is that most of companies are endeavoring for quality management but operating quality cost system unsystematically. The review against a prevention and appraisal activity is necessary.
This study empirically examines the relationship between the career orientations of R&D professionals and their demographic characteristics (age, tenure, and education level), affiliated organizations (public and private organizations), reward systems. It further explores the contingent effects of the career orientation fit between leader and members on their performance. The results reveal that : 1) five different career orientations (technical, manager, project, technical transfer, and entrepreneur) are empirically distinguished, 2) technical orientation of R&D professionals is higher in public in private sectors, 3) technical, project, and manager orientation are positively associated with the education level, while technical transfer and entrepreneur orientation are negatively associated with the education level, 4) manager and technical transfer orientation is positively related with age and tenure, 5) the career orientation fit between leader and member is closely related with job satisfaction and organization commitment, and partially related with technical performance, 6) R&D professionals with different types of career orientation exhibit different preference to various rewards. Based on these findings, this study suggests several practical implications for the design of career ladder, mentoring, and reward systems of R&D professionals.

It is common to experience delays during construction projects. Delays can ca use substantial damages to an owner as well as contractors and is the sources of frequent disputes and claims. Many studies have been carried out to assess the causes of delays in construction projects. They are found to be almost similar, except some prevailed local condition. Most of the common construction delay factors are attributed to design faults, incompetent contractor, lack of team accountability etc. To minimize or eliminate the delay we have to follow the recognized fundamental principles of management such as: cost-time relationship, time priority, accountability, rewards, innovative thinking etc. The root causes of delays found out in this paper are not so much different than other previous study. If the implementing agencies properly followed the, fundamental management principles and some other related corrections as recommended in the paper, much construction delays can be avoided.
The efficient conduct of the win-win strategic alignment in leisure industry is the one of the best way to cope with current situation. The purposes of this study are to identify the change of theme park consumers' visit intention when theme park joins with the membership program(reduced price) & Reward program of Network marketing system. From this study, it was found as follows : First, Membership progeam(reduced price) affects the change of consumer's preference to theme park.($before\;12.6\%,\;arter\;49.1\%$) Second, Network Marketing(reduced price + win-win rewards program) affects the change of consumer's preference to theme park.($before\;12.6\%,\;arter\;77\%$)

This article deals with stochastic reliability systems that include a repair facility and unreliable machines: the main facility of working and an auxiliary facility of "super-reserve" machines. The number of super-reserve machines are random number with a arbitrarily distribution and working machines break down exponentially. Defective machines line up for repair, whose durations are arbitrarily distributed. Refurbished machines return to the main facility. If the main facility is restored to its original quantity, the repair facility leaves on routine maintenance until all of super-reserve machines are exhausted. Then, the busy period is regenerated. The whole system also falls into the category of closed queues, with more options than those of basic models. The techniques include two-variate Markov and semi-regenerative processes, and a duality principle, to find the probability distribution of the number of intact machines. Explicit formulas obtained demonstrate a relatively effortless use of functionals of the main stochastic characteristics (such as expenses due to repair, maintenance, waiting, and rewards for higher reliability) and optimization of their objective function. Applications include computer networking, human resources, and manufacturing processes.
The present study purports to examine the relationship between organizational and occupational commitment and to find the determinats of occupational commitment for salaried physicians working in hospitals. For the purpose of comparison, those of hospital administrative and clerical employees were also investigated for the purpose of comparison. The sample for jthis study consists of 77 salaried physicicas and 185 administrative and clerical employees (comparison group) from two university hospitals in Seoul and its surburbs. Data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed using ANOVA, ANCOVA, and multiple regression. The main findings of the study are as follows : 1) organizational and occupational commitment were positively correlated for both salaried physicans and clerical employees; 2) the variable of job variety had a positive impact on occupational commitment for salaried physicians; and 3) three variables of fairness of rewards, autonomy, and job variety had positive impacts for clerical employees. These findings were discussed and implications for organizational analysts and hospital administrators were suggested.

This study examined the definitions and characteristics of TQM, procedures, problems and benefits of TQM and investigated the cases in U.S.A. and U.K. in a n.0, pplying TQM to libraries. It is necessary that libraries and information centers should a n.0, pply TQM for management innovation in order to overcome present and future crisis. As a result of study, there are three suggestions as follows. First, To be developed the TQM model for various types of libraries by national or library world. Second, To conduct TQM successfully in libraries and information centers, it is necessary to comprising the elements as follows. 1) Vision, committment and leadership of top management 2) Change of library's organizational culture 3) Learning and training of organizational members 4) Interests and participation of organizational members 5) Empowering and respecting people 6) Rewards for performance and accomplishments 7) Benchmarking 8) Measurement of performance and benefits. Third, TQM activities in libraries are developed into quality movement.
This paper focuses on frequent flyer programs (FFPs), which have long been used by most airlines as a powerful marketing tool. Since the preference for FFPs reward services and the customer perceived values of mileage points differ among FFPs members, airlines should design a customer-oriented reward service based on customer preference to motivate the use of mileage points. The intention for using mileage points is affected by various kinds of attributes such as reword items, consuming mileage points for rewards and time of usage. In this paper, we focus on evaluating customer perceived values of attributes of FFPs reward services. A conjoint analysis model is applied to get the preference value of each attribute. Some empirical experiments are conducted in relation to Korean customers. From the empirical survey, the preference values of attributes are evaluated for different scenarios with respect to the number of mileage points. With the preference values of attributes, we can find several implications for airlines regarding the development of various FFPs strategies.
