  • The current curriculum in the 7th informatics, which simply highlights the use of applied programs rather than enhancing creativity through learning several principles in information science and thus making it hard to have optimism on the future as a powerhouse in IT. By diagnosing these problems, Education Ministry revised the existing curriculum to have a more scientific access to the informatics. However, the curricular revision fails to meet the needs of learners sufficiently because it tends to put the considerations of theoretical specialists before the learners them selves. This paper compares and analyzes the overall understanding of learners on informatics, current-curriculum and 7th revised curriculum and that of college-level, thus offering the student-centered one. Also, the research tries to bridge the opinion gap between developer and learner by looking into the understanding level of university majors about the current curriculum. In doing so, thesis may provide the basis on exploring new approaches and contribute to establishing 7th revised curriculum in school.

To achieve them, first, comparable units were excerpted by analyzing between the national textbooks of 7th curriculum and the new revised curriculum used in Technical high schools. Second, each five types of 7th and new curriculum textbooks were compared and analyzed by seven requisites in the Elaboration theory by Reigeluth. As the results of the study, first, elaborating process like conceptual, procedural, and theoretical elaboration has been applied to the different subjects according to their properties. Second, cognitive strategy activator among the seven strategies was widely used. Whereas, analogy was not applied to all the ten types of the text books. In addition, Learning prerequisite sequence was presented with only simple picture and explanation, and it was inadequately used in practice. Third, summary was more used in 7th curriculum text than the new revised text. Fourth, six strategy components were widely used to all texts except construction and materials in the five types of texts. Lastly synthesis of theory and practice was more used than summary in theory subjects and learner control was more used in the subject of the synthesis of theory and practice.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the concerns and difficulties encountered by authors involved in the development of integrated science textbooks. Specifically, it focuses on their experiences with understanding and implementing the 2022 revised science curriculum. We collected 89 opinions from textbook authors and categorized them into several key areas: understanding the terminology and descriptors provided in the curriculum, structuring learning content, inquiries and activities, and the depth and scope of learning content. The analysis revealed that the most difficulty encountered by the textbook authors was in defining the level and scope of learning content. Many also expressed concerns and difficulties related to the ambiguity of terms and predicates. In terms of the composition of learning content, difficulties were identified in concerning the repetitive descriptions of achievement standards and the discrepancy between the arrangement of achievement standards and the flow of learning. Regarding inquiries and activities, there were experiments presented that were difficult to experience or actually implement, along with limitations in activity composition due to the need to optimize learning volume. Given the importance of high-quality textbooks for effective science education at the national level, it is crucial to establish effective communication channels between curriculum developers and textbook authors. Additionally, a robust support system for textbook development should be established.

  • Recently, as the importance of computational thinking(CT) education, the national curriculums of the world have been revised and the international comparative assessment studies have been conducted to evaluate the CT education effects. In this study, researchers compared and analyzed the achievement standards related to CT in Korean and U.S. curriculum. As a result, the number of CT related achievement standards is 16 in Korean and 21 in American. While Korean deals with more specific achievement standards of 'formulating and analyzing problems', American emphasized 'planning and evaluating solutions'. In terms of 'developing algorithms, programs and interfaces', both of them offer concrete related achievement standards, U.S. curriculum include more diverse and concrete practical achievement statements. The results of this study can be used to suggest improvements in practical aspects as well as contents in future Korean curriculum revision.

  • SNS data was collected and analyzed by topic modeling techniques to examine recent trends in information education. By deriving keywords and topics for SW education and AI education, we not only attempted to discover insights ahead of the next revised curriculum but also suggested directions. According to the SNS data analysis, the contents of human resource development for software and the instructional method in schools are indicated as a high requirement. Meanwhile, SW education should be conducted through a separate curriculum from elementary school, and this was consistent with the opinion that it is necessary to be organized as a required subject. There was an opinion to support the schools since AI education is newly introduced in next revised national curriculum. The trends in SW education and AI education which are observed through SNS data analysis could be concluded to conduct the substantial operation of information education and curriculum organization.
