  • The purpose of this article is to show profit margin hedging can be an optimal strategy in crude oil purchasing. This study theoretically analyzes profit margin hedging strategy is optimal in crude oil purchasing using expected target utility function and conducts simulations to show if the profit margin hedging is profitable. In addition, this study tests existence of mean reversion of crude oil futures prices to confirm the theory that profit margin hedging is more profitable than other strategies, such as always hedging or buying at expiration with spot price, if futures prices are mean reverting. The simulation results show that the expected utility of profit margin hedging higher than other strategies. Although we cannot find any evidence that crude oil futures prices follow mean reverting process, we can conclude that profit margin hedging can be optimal strategy in crude oil purchasing based on theoretical proof and simulation results.

  • Gamma irradiation at 30 kGy was applied to porridge to evaluate its possible genotoxicity. The genotoxicity of irradiated porridge was evaluated by Salmonella Typhimurium reversion assay, chromosomal aberration test and in vivo micronucleus assay. The results were negative in the bacterial reversion assay with S. Typhimurium TA98, TA100, TA1535 and TA1537. No mutagenicity was detected in the assay both with and without metabolic activation. In chromosomal aberration tests with CHL cells and in vivo mouse micronucleus assay, no significant difference in the incidences of chromosomal aberration and micronuclei was observed between nonirradiated and 30 kGy-irradiated porridge. These results indicate that porridge irradiated at 30 kGy did not show any genotoxic effects under these experimental conditions.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the genotoxcity of gamma-irradiated Undaria pinnadifida after harvest for enhancing the storage and microbial safety during drying process. The harvested seaweed was irradiated with the doses of 1 and 10 kGy. The genotoxicity was evaluated by Ames test (Salmonella typhimurium reversion assay) and SOS chromotest. The results from all samples were negative in the bacterial reversion assay with S. typhimurium TA98 and TA100. No mutagenicity was detected in the assay, at both with and without metabolic activation. The SOS chromotest also indicated that the gamma-irradiated U. pinnadifida did not show any mutagenicity. Therefore, this study indicated that gamma irradiation could be used for extending the shelf-life of U. pinnadifida.

  • The rate of school safety accident is increasing gradually. Recently bullying at school also became harsh, the number of related cases is increasing. The purpose of this study is to compare laws between Korea and China, to analyze law cases related with school safety accidents, and to suggest alternatives for the People's Republic of China. Total 80 cases were used. The research results are as follows. First, responsibility decision criteria of both countries are different because of related laws and regulations. Second, responsibility ranges of educational participants are different because of responsibility reversion principle and school safety accident policy. Third, through the results of comparison, prevention of school safety accident, preparation of legal ground, and supplement of present laws were suggested for the future of China.

  • The mycelia of Pyricularia oryzae were treated with enzyme solution mixture consisting of Driselase, ${\beta}-Glucuronidase$, Cellulase, and Macerozyme R-10 for the production of protoplasts. More protoplasts were formed from mycelia of race KJ 101 of P. oryzae than that of race KI 315a in the enzyme mixtures. The number of protoplasts was decreased in the untreated control three hrs after the enzyme treatment, whereas the number was increased in the treatments with 10, 50 and 100 mM 2-mercaptoethanol, respectively. The number of protoplasts increased to reach maximum at five hrs after treatment of 10 mM 2-mercaptoethanol, but the least was found in 200 mM. The protoplasts of P. oryzae in a liquid medium containing 2.5% yeast extract, and 2% dextrose reverted to the mycelia after five hrs shaking incubation at $27^{\circ}C$. Some protoplasts produced yeast like buds and the buds were developed to irregularly shaped chains of cell protruded a germ tube like hypha from the distal cell. Once in a while a germ tube like hypha protruded directly from the protoplasts. Except in the first type of reversion, other protoplasts reverted to the normal mycelia. The reversion frequency was highest on PDA with stabilizer of 0.6 M KCl. No reversion of protoplasts occurred on water agar regaardless oftreaatments.

  • Effects of yeast extract and ammonium sulfate were investigated on the production of L-or-nithine by an arginine auxotroph, Brevibacterium ketoglutamicum in flask and batch cultures. Yeast extract as an arginine source and ammonium sulfate as an inorganic nitrogen source had significant effects on L-ornithine production and cell growth. L-ornithine production was repressed by the excessive addition of arginine. Reversion of auxotrophic cells to the wild type was observed when the initial yeast extract concenfration was too low. There existed optimum concentrations of yeast extract and ammonium sulfate for L-or-nithine production. The effects of yeast extract and ammonium sulfate concentrations of the Leudeking-Piret model parameters were examined to analyze the relationship between cell growth and L-ornithine production.

  • 1) The authors has observed in a boy of 21 years old a supernumerary 3rd premolar tooth the crown of which emerged from the fight lingual side close to the both premolar, mandible. 2) They may have a conical form or be otherwise rudimentary or vestigial, but they do not present ancestal characters. 3) According to the reports of formaers and our experiences about it, the large number of the eruption area was in lingual or palatal side. 4) A third premolar in man could only be accounted for as atavisms by a reversion covering so long a period of time.

  • This paper introduces computerized version of Hangout(Korean Language) Standard Pronunciation Rule that can be used in Korean processing systems such as Korean voice synthesis system and Korean voice recognition system. For this purpose, we build Petri net models for each items of the Standard Pronunciation Rule, and then integrate them into the vocal sound conversion table. The reversion of Hangul Standard Pronunciation Rule regulates the way of matching vocal sounds into grammatically correct written characters. This paper presents not only the vocal sound conversion table but also character conversion table obtained by reversely converting the vocal sound conversion table. Making use of these tables, we have implemented a Hangeul character into a vocal sound system and a Korean vocal sound into character conversion system, and tested them with various data sets reflecting all the items of the Standard Pronunciation Rule to verify the soundness and completeness of our tables. The test results shows that the tables improves the process speed in addition to the soundness and completeness.

  • Ultrasonic spectroscopy is likely to become a very powerful NDE method for detection of microfects and thickness measurement of thin film below the limit of ultrasonic distance resolution in the opaque materials, provides a useful information that cannot be obtained by a conventional ultrasonic measuring system. In this paper, we considered a thin film below the limit of ultrasonic distance resolution sandwitched between two substances as acoustical analysis model, demonstrated the usefulness of ultrasonic spectroscopic analysis technique using information of ultrasonic frequency for measurements of thin film thickness, regardless of interference phenomenon and phase reversion of ultrasonic waveform. By using frequency intervals(${\triangle}f$) of periodic minima from the ratio of reference power spectrum of reflective waveform obtained a sample to power spectrum of multiple reflective waves obtained interference phenomenon caused by ultrasonic waves reflected at the upper and lower surfaces of a thin layer, can measured even dimensions of interest are smaller than the ultrasonic wave length with simplicity and accuracy.

  • Constitutive relation of thermoelasto-plastic material undergoing phase transformation during quenching process were developed on the basic of continuum thermodynamics. The metallic structure, temperature and residual stresses distributions were numerically calculated by the finite element technique. The metallic structure were defined by transformation from austenite to pearlite and characterized as a fuction of thermal history and mixture rule of phase. On the distribution of thermal stress along the radial direction, axial and tangential stresses are compressive in the surface, and tential in the inner part. Radial stress is tensile in the whole body. The reversion of residual stress takes plase at 11.5~15.5mm from the center.
