  • The kinematically admissible velocity field is developed for the analysis of the curving of an eccentric extrusion. The curving of product in extrusion is caused by the difference of the linearly distributed longitudinal velocity on the cross-section of the workpiece at the dies exit. The result of the analysis show that the curvature of product increases with the increase in eccentricity of gravity center of the cross-section of the workpiece at the die entrance from that of the cross-section at the die exit. It also increase with the die land dimension. By the DEFORMTM-3D analysis, the curving of T-shaped product in extrusion is changed by the eccentricity, die land length and the friction constant. The result of the analysis by DEFORMTM-3D software shows that the curvature of circular shaped product increases with the eccentricity. The two analysis and one experiment show the curving phenomenon in eccentric extrusion process.

  • In this research, for the first time, we tried to analyse Raman hyperspectral dentin data using Independent Component Analysis (ICA) to see its possibility of adoption for the dental analysis software. We captured hyperspectral dentin data on 569 spots on a molar with dental lesion by HR800 Micro Raman Spectrometer at UMKC-CRISP (University of Missouri at Kansas City-Center for Research on Interfacial Structure and Properties). Each spot has 1,005 hyperspectral data. We applied ICA to the captured hyperspectral data of dentin for evaluating ICA approach, and compared it with the well known multivariate analysis method, PCA. As a result of the experiment, ICA approach shows better local characteristic of dentin than the result of PCA. We confirmed that ICA also could be a good method along with PCA in the dental analysis software.

  • A flame deflector prevents a launch system from thermal damage by deflecting the exhaust flame of the launch vehicle. During the deflection of the flame, the flame deflector is subjected to a high-temperature and high-pressure flow, which results in thermal ablation damage at the surface. Predicting this ablation damage is an essential requirement to ensure a reliable design. This paper introduces a numerical method for predicting the ablation damage phenomena based on a one-way fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analysis. In the proposed procedure, the temperature and convective heat transfer coefficient of the exhaust flame are calculated using a fluid dynamics analysis, and then the ablation is calculated using a finite element analysis (FEA) based on the user-subroutine UMESHMOTION and Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) adaptive mesh technique in ABAQUS. The result of such an analysis was verified by comparison to the ablation test result for a flame deflector.

  • Software has been used to develop many functions of the modern weapon systems which has a high mission criticality. Weapon system software must consider multi-threaded processing to satisfy growing performance requirement. However, developing multi-threaded programs are difficult because of concurrency faults, such as unintended data races. Especially, it is important to prepare analysis for debugging the data races, because the weapon system software may cause personal injury. In this paper, we present an efficient framework of analysis, called ConDeWS, which is designed to determine the scope of dynamic analysis through using the result of static analysis and fault analysis. As a result of applying the implemented framework to the target software, we have detected unintended data races that were not detected in the static analysis.

  • Until now, design of Earth Retaining is practiced by 2nd dimensional analysis for convenience of analysis and time saving. However, the construction field is 3rd dimension, in this study, practised the 3rd dimensional analysis which can reflect the field condition more exactly the scope of earth retaining wall, and researched about the effective and economical way of design, compared and reviewed with the results, by practising both the 2nd and 3rd dimensional analysis. existing 2nd dimension. the depth of excavation, depth of embedded and soil condition. As result, under the whole conditions, more displacement came to appear to the value as result of 3rd dimensional analysis more than the result of 2nd dimensional analysis. Accordingly, the displacement by the 2nd dimension analysis is underestimated. Moreover, results of 2nd and 3rd dimensional analysis, there is no difference at displacement, when the depth of embedded is 0.5H, 1.0H and 1.5H, but Displacement of 1.5H is smaller than 0.5H, 1.0H. That is, the bigger the depth of embedded becomes, the displacement of Earth Retaining Wall appeared smaller. The displacement of earth retaining wall according to depth of excavation appeared bigger, when the depth of excavation is increased. In the meantime, when the soil condition is different, in the 2nd dimensional analysis, the displacement appeared biggest, in case of the clay layer, but in the 3rd dimensional analysis, in the beginning of excavating, the displacement of earth retaining wall appeared bigger in case of clay layer, but as excavating is in progress, the displacement of both compound soil layer and sand layer appeared big.

  • This study analyzed how not only socio-economic variables but also lifestyle variables affect the expenditure and the patterns of households. The result of multiple regression analysis resealed that economic variables(e.g, income, saving, property) and lifestyle variable(e.g, enjoyment and convenience seeking type) affected the consumption expenditure. Based on the result of cluster analysis, The consumption expenditure patterns of urban households were separated as 1)necessity dominant pattern, 2)transportation $.$ communication dominant patters, 3)other consumption dominant pattern, 4)education$.$culture and recreation dominant pattern. The result of logistic analysis revealed that debt, saying and living location variables were major factors to determine the consumption expenditure patterns of urban households. But did not Influence on the Consumption Expenditure Patterns.

  • The aspect of vibration is analyzed according to the structural length difference of IPMSM housing. For this purpose, the frequencies that have the greatest influence on the RMF were analyzed using electromagnetic analysis result. And the change of resonance frequency was analyzed through structural analysis. The vibration experiment was also performed. Compared with the analysis result, it was verified whether it is the actual aspect and validity result.

  • This study is on the decomposition analysis of the IT export of Korea, Japan, and China (toward US IT market) by using log mean Divisia method. The analysis shows that the increase in the Korea-US IT exports is the result of not only the increase in the US's IT imports but also the increase in the US's IT market shares. The increases in the Japan-US IT export have shown to be the result of the increase of US's IT import but the market shares have been decreased. The increase in the China-US IT export is the result of the changes in the market shares, changes in IT import structure. and the IT import increase. In order to increase exports toward US markets, Korea have to continue increasing the market share of communication equipments, secure competitive power toward US IT markets with the decline of Japanese's market shares, and secure technical superiority over rising competitive power of Chinas IT industry.

  • This paper presents the mathematical modelling analysis of Brushless Synchronous Motor(BLSM). The dynamic and the steady state characteristics of BLSM are simulated and analyzed : electromagnetic torque, speed, line voltage, and current. We used mathematical modelling to model of BLSM with sinusoidal back EMF, namely the shaft transformation referencing rotor frame from a, b, c three to produce constant torque like synchronous motor. The experiment result has already similar to compare with simulation result : torque error about 7%, speed error about 5%. The validity of proposed modelling and analysis was confirmed by the experimental result.
