지리산국립공원 노고단 일원 식생복원지 회복 평가 (Evaluation of Vegetation Recovery after Restortaion Works at the Nogodan Area, Jirisan National Park)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 식생복원사업후 경과년수에 따라 지리산국립공원 노고단일원의 식생구조의 회복수준을 평가하는 데 있다. 1992년(23년 전)에 시행한 헬기장 주변 훼손지 복원연구 시험지역, 1996년(19년 전)에 시행한 노고단 정상부 훼손지 복원사업지역, 2008년(7년전)에 시행한 군시설 이전지 복원사업지역에 모니터링 시험구 14개소, 복원지 인근 자연림에 대조구 12개소등 총 26개소의 조사구를 설치하여 복원사업지와 인근 자연림간 식물상, 상대우점치, 종다양도, 유사도지수 등을 분석하여 식생회복 정도를 평가하였다. 23년이 경과된 훼손지복원시험지역은 시험구와 대조구 간 종구성의 유사도지수 평균치가 35.2%이었고, 관목층 수고는 20% 수준으로 회복되었다. 19년이 경과된 정상부 식생복원사업지역은 종구성의 유사도지수 평균치가 17.6%로서 상대적으로 낮았으나, 털진달래가 출현하는 관목층의 수고는 20%의 수준으로 회복되었다. 7년이 경과된 군시설이전지역의 유사도지수는 34.3%로 비교적 높았으며, 관목층의 피복도는 대조구의 20% 수준을 나타냈다. 국립공원지역의 생태복원평가기법과 생태복원기술개발을 위하여 복원사업지역에 대한 장기모니터링이 필요하다.

비탈면 녹화 설계 및 시공 잠정 지침 적용사례 -김천어모구간 국도비탈면을 중심으로- (Application Case of Test of Revegetation Measures on Design of Slopes Revegetation and Tentative Instruction on Construction Work -With a Case of Slopes Along the National Road Between Gimcheon and Eomo -)

  • Test application of revegetation measure was made on the roadside slope damaged by Gimcheon-Eomo national road improvement project in a bid to prevent the soil from being washed out as well as to restore the ecological environment, and the survey for assessing the effect of slope revegetation measures was conducted, beginning Sep 7 through Sep 20, 2006. In the wake of comprehensive reviewing and evaluating the surrounding topographic environment, physical and chemical characteristics of soil, germination of revegetation plants, analysis of bio mass, covering ratio and the plants appeared, revegetation measure C was found to have been most effective and desirable for further application in the area. Viewing the specific applicability by the area, revegetation measure C and C-1 appeared to be appropriate for blasting rock slope and ripping rock slope as they are efficient in preventing the slope from being washed out and in early revegetating. And revegetation measure B deemed to be effective to blasting rock slope or ripping rock slope as an alternative. And for cut slope, vegetation measure C-2 was judged to be more effective than measure D or E, while measure C-3 would be appropriateto embankment slope.

산지형 체험테마공원 조성을 위한 환경생태계획 및 훼손저감 기법 연구 (Ecological Planning and Mitigation of Deterioration Technique for Plan of Mountainous Experience Theme Park)

  • Taebaek city is located in the mountainous plateau area therefore the major industry was coal industry. According to dramatically declining of the major industry, Taebaek city is need to alternative industry which associated with considering the geographical characteristics of natural tourism resources for increasing the local economy. On the basis of these reasons, this study can be suggested ecological planning and mitigation of deterioration technique about the these study site. That is the reserved area for mountainous experience theme park. As the results of environmental ecology assessment are following as; The natural ecosystem areas, multi-layer structure forest such as forest of Pinus densiflora, forest of Quercus mongolica and deciduous forest have a high value of nature, diversity and potential. In addition, wild bird habitats were important area as a inhabitation, breeding, feeding and hiding. Therefore, on these areas should be preserved. Also, it needs to conserve on there such as more than three types of wild bird inhabitate areas, the fringe of high biological diversity, the wetland that have got good vegetation condition and the function of amphibia, reptiles crossing. In addition, inhabitation, the waterway of wetland form that have got wide waterside width needs to conserve. In conclusion, on the basis of analysis results such as conditions of plan, environment, ecological assessments, survey informations are able to suggest the connectivity of the axis of forest and management plan. Moreover, in the part of forest restoration plan, we suggest the plan of transplant for a compensation of damaged forest by land use.

Effect of forest restoration treatment on Abies holophylla growth and soil condition: Focusing on the Daegwallyeong alpine pastures

  • This study aimed to determine a method for restoring grasslands to forests in mountainous areas. The study was conducted in an area damaged by trampling due to construction activity and herding. Additionally, there were concerns of hindered tree growth due to the alpine region climate, characterized by the low temperatures, drying, and strong winds. Therefore, forest restoration treatments such as tillage, furrow, and shading were performed to improve growth conditions. From July 2021 to April 2023, soil temperature and moisture were monitored for each treatment plot, and changes in the initial growth and survival rate of Abies holophylla were investigated. Both soil temperature and soil moisture showed significantly higher values during the four seasons in the grassland-furrow treatment plot (p < 0.05). Compared to the grassland-control plot, the average soil temperature in winter was as high as 1.1℃, and the soil moisture in summer was as high as 20.3%. Additionally, the survival rate and relative growth rate were the largest in the grassland-furrow treatment plot. The survival rate was 87.5%, the relative growth rate in terms of height was 0.013, and the relative growth rate in terms of diameter at root collar was 0.023, indicating that furrow treatment had a positive effect on the initial survival and growth of seedlings. These results suggest that furrow treatment may be an appropriate restoration method when implementing forest restoration projects in areas where tree growth is challenged.

효율적 비오톱유형 관리를 위한 적용개념 및 방향 제안 (The Suggestion of Applicable Concepts and Directions for the Effective Management on Biotope Types)

  • The purpose of this study is to derive the actually applicable directions and measures for conservation and restoration according to biotope types. Recently biotope project-installing eco-river, restoring damaged area, protecting habitate for flora and fauna- is processed according to being interested in making and restoring the biotope. But it is lack of study to estimate and systematize which biotope preserve and restore primary. For this purpose, the direction and measures of conservation and restoration be applicable to actuality are drafted by a review on the preceded case studies until now at the inside and outside of the country. And then this study proposed the concept, direction and measures for the effective systematic biotope management through continual feed back such as field applications in selected case study areas and consultations. First, the applicable directions and measures for conservation and restoration according to biotope types is suggested with the 'conservation' divided into two parts; protection and maintenance, the 'restoration', and the 'enhancement' divided into two parts; improvement and creation. Second, for the effective biotope management, the biotope types are classified into urban type, agricultural types and natural types according to the naturalness and dominant landscape. However, this study suggests that the direction and measures suitable to the regional conditions should be reviewed enough and selected and also the detail measures should be supplemented with the foundation of directions and measures for biotope conservation and management proposed in this study because the biotope management should consider regional characteristics.

항공영상을 활용한 도로개발 전·후 산림 훼손지 개체목 분석 (Analysis of Individual Tree Change Using Aerial Photograph in Deforested area Before and After Road Construction)

  • Although the road construction in forest is increasing and there is a need for development ecological restoration on deforest area, no consideration has been given to individual trees in there. This study analyzed aerial photographs of deforest area before and after road construction for determining the degree of forest destruction by extracting individual trees. Study area was selected in the sites where are damaged by road construction in GongJu-si, YuSung-gu, and YeongDong-gun. The aerial photograph taken 1979 before construction is panchromatic image of 80cm in GSD (Ground Sample Distance) and other photograph taken 2016 after construction is multi-spectral image of 10cm in GSD. In order to minimize the difference of GSD, we conducted image re-sampling process for setting to same GSD for the two photographs. After that we carried out visual interpretation method for determining to change of individual tree. The result found that for GongJu-si of the number of individual tree was 1,014 in 1979 and 886 in 2016, which decreased by 128 (12.6%) and the average width of those decreased from 5.77m to 5.75m by 0.47%. In case of YoungDong-gun, the number of it was 761 in 1979 and 746 in 2016, which decreased by 2.0% and the average width of it decreased from 8.99mm to 8.90m by 1.1%. Lastly in case of YuSung-gu, the number of it was 1,578 in 1979 and 988 in 2016, which decreased by 37.4% and the average width of it decreased from 7.09m to 6.65m by 6.21%. these result imply that road construction causes destruction of forests. Since there are limitations such as errors due to researcher, it is necessary to construct a quantitative analysis method for the change of the deforest area. It is need to study the method of extracting individual tree in deforest area more accurately using high-resolution image of GSD 10cm or more as well. This study can be used as a basic data for the ecological restoration of the deforest area considering characteristics of individual tree such as height, diameter at breast height, and biomass.

식생정보에 기초한 백두대간 지리산권역 내 훼손지 유형별 실태조사 (The Survey on Actual Condition Depending on Type of Degraded area and Suggestion for Restoration Species Based on Vegetation Information in the Mt. Jirisan Section of Baekdudaegan)

  • 본 연구는 백두대간 지리산권역 내 훼손지의 유형을 분류하고, 각 훼손 유형별 실태조사를 통해 훼손 정도를 파악하여 훼손지의 복원 방향을 제시하기 위한 기초자료로 활용하기 위해 수행되었다. 지리산권역의 훼손실태를 분석한 결과 전체 훼손지의 패치 수는 57개로 확인되었고, 평균고도가 낮고 경사가 완만한 지역일수록 훼손지의 패치 수 및 훼손 면적이 더 넓게 나타났다. 훼손 유형은 초지(폐경지)와 경작지의 비율이 높게 나타나 농업적 토지이용이 주요 훼손 요인으로 분석되었다. 이 중 14개소의 훼손지를 대상으로 실태조사를 수행한 결과, 훼손 유형은 초지, 경작지, 복원지, 벌채지 및 나지로 분류되었다. 각 유형별 교란정도(일년초 및 이년초의 비율, 도시화지수, 교란율)를 분석한 결과, 초지 및 경작지에서는 대부분 초본류로만 구성된 1층 구조의 단순한 식생구조와 교란정도가 높게 나타났다. 소나무 유묘가 다수 식재된 복원지의 경우 2층 구조의 식생구조가 나타났고, 복원사업으로 인한 교란과 인근의 등산로로 인해 귀화식물의 유입이 다른 훼손지에 비해 특히 높게 나타났다. 나지의 경우 고도가 높아 귀화식물의 유입은 낮았지만, 일년초와 이년초의 비율이 높게 나타나 조사된 모든 유형의 훼손지는 천이 초기단계로 판단되었다. 훼손 유형별 군락을 서열화한 결과, I 축상의 복원지, 경작지, 초지, 벌채지 및 나지 순으로 나타나 훼손 유형별로 구분되어 배열되는 경향을 보였다. 또한 훼손 유형별 조사지와 참조생태계의 군락을 서열화한 결과, 종조성의 차이를 확인할 수 있었다. 이처럼 생태적 복원 절차에 따라 식생정보에 기초한 훼손 유형별 실태를 진단하고, 진단 결과와 함께 참조생태계와의 종조성의 차이를 확인함으로써 향후 복원 목표 및 복원 방향 설정의 기초자료로 활용하고자 한다.

패치크기, 연결성, 가장자리를 고려한 보전가치평가 (Conservation Value Assessment by Considering Patch Size, Connectivity and Edge)

  • Rapid and reckless economical development is causing nationwide deforestation; more and more forest is being developed to be used as a base for economic advancement. While benefiting the national economy, this destruction of forest is creating a serious problem in the National Land Plan. To solve this problem, it is imperative to understand the current condition of damaged forest and make an environment-friendly plan. This paper explains the principles of spatial plan and sets the criteria for the plan, such as patch size, connectivity, and edge of the Landscape Ecology. The paper assesses the conservational value of area that are currently being developed or planned to be developed to figure out the current environmental situation. This conservational value was verified by the field survey. The result of assessment appears that the patch size of the major mountains in site is over 1,000ha and edge is located widely beside roads. The area of the high connectivity is located agriculture area in valley or narrow roads. The research shows that the patch size is related to biodiversity the larger the patch size, the more populated the species are. The research also reveals the conservational value indicated by degree of connection to forest, difference in the structure of vegetation between core area and edge area, and effects of surrounding environment. In further study, we will assess other criteria of conservation value, such as patch shape and fragmentation to the Landscape Ecology, and apply those criteria in biological aspects of the spatial plan.

석회석광산의 식생녹화방법에 관한 고찰 -일본 이부키광산과 부코우광산의 사례연구- (Study on the Revegetation Methods for the Rehabilitation and Restoration of the Disturbed Slopes in Limestone Mines -Case study of Ibuki mine and Bukou mine in Japan-)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the basis of the ecological restoration on the limestone mines in Korea, through the research of the revegetation measures of the disturbed slopes in Japanese limestone mines and the analysis of the case of Ibuki and Bukou limestone mines to realize the restoration works successfully. According to the number of mines to carry out the revegetation works increase every year, the revegetation area and amount of planting also go on increasing in Japan. In the small mines the environmental problem is not recognized seriously, but some mines have muchly invested in the revegetation of the damaged land by mines. Ibuki mine in Shiga-gen is practicing the four principles for the restoring of the revegetation in the disturbed slopes by mines. Firstly, the mean slope preserves $37^{\circ}$ in the last rock cut slopes. Secondly, the last rock cut slopes to rehabilitate are covered with the soil dressing 30cm high. Thirdly, the grasses in the mining area are digged up beforehand, and then they are reused to the revegetation works of rock cut slopes. Lastly, from the upper rock cut slopes the revegetation works begin, the process of the above are repeated, as the result, the restoring works will be completed. Upon the ground of these principles, the complex of the original vegetation and the native species seeding, that is, the revegetation technique of Ibuki have established. In the difficult area to revegetate, sodding works, heaping up vegetation-sack, seed-spraying, heaping up soil-sacks and planting works are adapted variously. Bukou mine in Saitama-gen try to maintain the revegetation, the screening and the stability of the enormous mining rock cut slope, and for these works, the activity of 'Chichibu Working Group of Rock Wall for Limestone Mines' contributes largely. The chief technique of the revegetation in Bukou mine is following; after the making the berm on the rock cut slopes, the soil dressing is filled in it, and the trees is planted for the screening of the rock cut slopes. They devide the rock cut slopes into four typical types, and choose the different ways to make the berm and fill the soil dressing in characteristic. Most of the planting trees are consist ofthe native species of Mt. Bukou through the stages of the nursery and transplantation. Not only the revegetation of the demaged land but also the breeding of the conservational plants also are their important business.

서식처 적합성 지수 (HSI)를 활용한 맹꽁이 서식처 복원 계획 (Planning of Narrow-mouth Frog (Kaloula borealis) Habitat Restoration Using Habitat Suitability Index (HSI))

  • 맹꽁이는 Kaloula 속에 속하는 양서류로는 우리나라에서 유일하게 한 종이 서식하고 있으며 멸종위기야생생물 II 급으로 지정, 관리하고 있어 맹꽁이의 절멸 방지를 위해서는 맹꽁이에 대한 서식처 복원 연구가 절실히 필요하다. 본 연구는 훼손된 맹꽁이 서식처 복원이나 대체서식지와 같은 새로운 맹꽁이 서식처 복원 시 바람직한 생태적 복원 방향을 제시하기 위하여 연구 대상지인 전라남도 목포시에 맹꽁이 서식처 적합성 지수 (HSI)를 활용 및 실제 적용하여 맹꽁이 서식처 복원 계획을 제시하는 것을 주된 목적으로 하였다. 연구대상지의 역사적 맥락, 생태기반환경, 생태환경, 맹꽁이의 서식처 요구 조건 등을 분석한 후 UNESCO MAB (Man and Biosphere) 공간구획에 따라 연구 대상지를 핵심, 완충, 전이지역으로 토지이용 계획을 수립하였다. 기본계획으로 맹꽁이 서식처인 핵심지역에 대한 구체적인 맹꽁이 서식처 조성방안을 습지 (산란처), 초지 (은신처 및 먹이터), 수림대 (먹이터)로 구분하여 제시하고 서식처 계획 전, 후의 맹꽁이 서식처 적합도를 비교 평가하였다. 향후 맹꽁이 서식처 복원 계획에 따른 검증 연구로 테스트베드 (test-bed) 조성, 지속적인 모니터링, 과학적인 서식처 유지 관리에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 한다.
