  • In order to evaluate properly ship motion relating to the berthing maneuver, the hydrodynamic forces acting on ship hull in berthing maneuver need to be estimated rightly. CFD has been employed for time-domain simulation of transient flow induced by Wigley model moving laterally from rest in shallow water. The numerical solutions successfully captured not only the characteristics of the transitional hydrodynamic forces but also some interesting features of the flow field around a berthing ship according to the water depth. In this paper, the consideration is carried out on the approximate formula based on the CFD results, which can estimate hydrodynamic forces especially lateral drag coefficient starting from the rest to the uniform movement.

  • The head to disk spacing must be decreased to increase recording densities in hard disk drives. Recently, to decrease the head to disk spacing, smooth disk having no bumps onto the lading zone has used. In this research, we compared the number of particles generated ill HDD with smooth and textured disks. We used a sampling method using a particle sampler and a CPC (condensation particle counter) to detect particles in HDD. First, we sampled and counted particles generated with disk rotational speed and various rest times when the smooth disk and textured disks were used, then analyzed the sampled particles by SEM (scanning electron microscopy) and AES (auger electron spectroscopy). In results of measuring particles, more particles in case of LZT disk drive generated than that of the smooth disk drive in all test modes. The number of particles generated in the smooth disk was very low. The particle generation increased as the rest time increased (smooth/LZT disks) and more particles in case of LZT disk drive generated than that of the smooth disk drive. In results of analyzing particle components, Al, Ti, Si components were detected and we could not found differences between components in case of smooth/LZT disk drive.

  • Transarterial chemoembolization is one of the most representative procedures for puncture of the femoral artery. In addition, the same procedure is often repeatedly performed many times, and Hepatocellular carcinoma patients due to cancer is significantly lowered blood tests, regardless of platelet counts are not good enough to stop bleeding. More importantly, hepatocellular carcinoma has a high degree of complication and disease severity, which makes it less likely that the condition of the body will be relatively inferior to other patients. In order to prevent delayed hemorrhage of the femoral artery puncture site after the procedure, it is advised to absolutely stabilize the limb so that it does not bend the limb for 3 hours after climbing in the ward. Therefore, I have been complaining about inconvenience. In addition, in order to prevent delayed hemorrhage after hemostasis, balloon type hemostatic device was used instead of sand bag which was placed on hemostatic site. The results of this study were compared with the results of actual application. The use of a balloon-type hemostatic device to increase the effectiveness of continuous hemostasis and to minimize the inconvenience during the time of patient's absolute bed rest, rather than raising the sandbag to prevent primary delayed hemorrhage by various methods in transarterial chemoembolization. It can be used as a substitute for existing sand bags because it can alleviate pain, increase satisfaction, and can be used as a disposable one.

The subjects of this study were students majoring in occupational therapy at C College situated in C region. For analysis, 103 copies of questionnaire were used. As study instruments, a structured questionnaire incorporating questions about general characteristics, and measurement scales for quality of life, quality of sleep, and occupational performance evaluation were applied. Subjective sleep quality and sleep latency of study participants had lower scores than other components. According to the analysis on different quality of sleep depending on general characteristics, women had more sleep disturbances as they didn't have any part-time job. In terms of the correlation between quality of sleep and quality of life, physical health and total score (quality of life) had correlations with daytime dysfunction. With regard to influential factors on quality of sleep, rest & sleep as a domain of occupational performance and work affected quality of sleep. Students' quality of sleep will be improved if they keep regular habits of living, have rest appropriately for alleviating their stress, and do their jobs with interest and successfully according to a procedure. It is expected that the results of this study will be helpful to care for the health of would-be experts in charge of national health care.

  • Background and Objectives This study was conducted to investigate the change of total work and total work ratio for each set, peak heart rate during exercise, and blood lactate for each set during the 5-set bench press exercise at 75% one repetition maximum test (1-RM). Materials and Methods Seven men in their 20s with more than 6 months of experience doing resistance exercises were selected as subjects, and their 1-RM bench press was measured two weeks before the experiment and 75% 1-RM was measured one week before the experiment. In this study, total work was measured for each set, and heart rate was measured during rest and set-by-set exercise. Blood lactate was measured during rest time after each set. The raw data were analyzed by repeated one-way ANOVA. Results Total work and total work ratio decreased from 1 set to 4 sets (p < .05), p < .001), heart rate increased from stable at the start of exercise (p < .001) and decreased between 3 sets and 4 sets (p < .05). Blood lactate increased continuously up to 2 sets (p < .001, p < .01). Conclusion In conclusion, total work and heart rate decreased with muscle fatigue during exercise, and blood lactate continuously increased. The results of this study are expected to be useful references for constructing resistance exercise programs in the future.

  • Objective: This study aims to explore ways to empirically analyze and manage childcare teachers' job stress based on their relationship with stress-related physiological indicators measured by a fitness tracker. Methods: The study participants were 27 childcare teachers in Gyeonggi-do and wore Garmin's wearable fitness tracker Vivosmart 4 for 15 days for three months. The collected information was analyzed for mean, SD, ANOVA, and correlation using JAMOVI 2.00. Results: First, among the daily changes of physiological indicators measured by a fitness tracker, the data collected on Mondays were significant. On Mondays, the stress index was high, the duration of the rest period was short, and the sleep time was short. The stress of childcare teachers showed a significant negative relationship with the body battery which was calculated by considering the duration of the rest period, heart rate variability, stress, and activity level. Also, the duration of deep sleep was positively correlated with a low degree of stress. There was a significant relationship between the childcare teachers' psychological indicators and the biomarkers measured by fitness trackers. Conclusion/Implications: Stress research using a fitness tracker is big data, and in-depth analysis is possible. Fitness trackers can collect and utilize repeated measurement data for each individual childcare teacher.

  • We present the Exposure Time Calculator of IGRINS (Immersion Grating Infrared Spectrograph). The noises of IGRINS and the simulated emission line can be calculated from the combination of Telluric background emission and absorptions, the emission and transmission of the telescope and instrument optics, and the dark noise and the read noise of the infrared arrays. For the atmospheric transmissions, we apply the simulated spectra depending on the Precipitable Water Vapor (PWV) values. In case of calculation of noises, the user needs to input the expected target magnitude, the weather conditions, and the desired exposure time. In addition to the simulated emission line, the parameters of rest wavelength, line-flux, Doppler shift and line-width are needed. The output would be the expected signal-to-noise for each spectral resolution element. The source-code of IGRINS-ETC v2.1.1 is available to be downloaded on the World Wide Web.

  • In this paper, the spin-up from rest to a state of solid-body rotation in a circular container with a slender rectangular obstacle on the bottom wall is analysed experimentally. We use a PIV method for the evolution of the free-surface flow. Laboratory experiments have been carried out for a variety of the obstacle height h(0, 5, 10 [mm]) and the liquid depth H(25, 50, 75, 100 [mm]). It was found that the spin-up time is crucially dependent on the obstacle height T. In the case of T=10[mm] the spin-up time is considerably shorter then the other cases.

  • In this paper, we investigate so-called the falling cat problem. It is well known that a cat, when released from an upside down configuration starting from rest, is able to land on her feet without violating angular momentum conservation. This has being an interesting problem for engineers for a long time. We consider a model of a falling cat as connected two rigid columns, which is a nonholonomic system. We design the controller for it, using time- state control form of the model and exact linearization technique. Finally, we test the controller thorough simulation on the model of a falling cat.
