Information modeling that is broadly applied in digital archiving process privides conceptual process that can be used to guide the creation of descriptions for the objects of preservation. However, it has faced with the limitations on substantially applying to the creation of preservation metadata records. This research proposes the concept of Resource Cluster in order to address these problems and efficiently describe the objects of preservation during digital archiving process. It also constructed Preservation Description Framework (PDF) based on RDF in order to substantially manifest preservation descriptions. This framework combines the structure of OAIS Reference Model and Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) and can be an alternative approach to the creation of preservation metadata in more efficient and effective ways.

The purpose of this study was (1) to investigate the changes in consumer competencies according to the types of shopping value, (2) to reveal the effects of shopping value on consumer competencies. The subjects of this study were 266 university students dwelling in Seoul. A questionnaire was used as the survey method. The data was analyzed by Cronbach's alpha, frequencies, percentile, mean, factor analysis, K-mean cluster analysis, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range tests, multiple linear regressions. Computations were conducted by SPSS WIN 12.0. The study produced the following results. First, college students can be categorized into 3 shopping values by K-means Cluster analysis of 13 items: the hedonic shopper (shopping value), the utilitarian shopper (shopping value) and the balanced shopper (shopping value). Second, there were significant differences in grades, satisfaction with life and shopping value. That is, grade 3and utilitarian shopping value group had a higher level of consumer competency. Third, the variable that influenced consumer competency was the utilitarian shopping value, influencing consumer attitude and consumer skill. These results imply that consumers should be constantly educated and that there needs to be a campaign to promote utilitarian shopping value.

This paper examines the resource gain that can be obtained from the creation of clusters of nodes in densely populated areas. A single node within each such cluster is designated as a "hotspot"; all other nodes then communicate with a destination node, such as a base station, through such hotspots. We propose a semi-distributed algorithm, referred to as coordinated cognitive tethering (CCT), which clusters all nodes and coordinates hotspots to tether over locally available white spaces. CCT performs the following these steps: (a) groups nodes based on a modified k-means clustering algorithm; (b) assigns white-space spectrum to each cluster based on a distributed graph-coloring approach to maximize spectrum reuse, and (c) allocates physical-layer resources to individual users based on local channel information. Unlike small cells (for example, femtocells and WiFi), this approach does not require any additions to existing infrastructure. In addition to providing parallel service to more users than conventional direct communication in cellular networks, simulation results show that CCT can increase the average battery life of devices by 30%, on average.

In this study, the concentration of 17 dioxin congeners in the soil samples near a waste incinerator with respect to distance from incinerator and wind directions were investigated. The effect of PCB source was investigated using the cluster analysis method. The total concentration and I-TEQ concentration of dioxin ranged from 31.065 to 7,257.499 pg/g(dry weight) and from 0.099 to 35.191 pg I-TEQ/g(dry weight.), respectively. There was a weak correlation(not statistically significant) observed between soil concentration and wind direction, and the distance from the incinerator. The reason may be due to the presence of the local combustion sources other than the target incinerator. The fraction of PCDFs and PCDDs was also examined to study the effect of incinerator. The fraction of PCDFs was decreased with the distance from the incinerator. The influence of target incinerator was found within a 500-meter radius. The high concentration in the for site was due to small incinerators and the use of agricultural chemicals such as PCP. To investigate the relationship between soil near the incinerator and the sources, the cluster analysis was conducted using the congener pattern. As a result soil samples were divided into four groups and were qualitatively estimated the influence of sources such as incinerator and PCP by comparing the congener pattern of each roups. It was thought that a cluster analysis was a useful statistical method for the source estimation of dioxin.

On ATM-based wired/wireless integrated network, we apply the connection re-routing method[1] which reduced the inter-cluster handoff delay by reserving VPI/VCLs for possible inter-cluster handoff calls in advance. Additionally, we propose wired resource reservation methods, which are ausiliary method and split method, for handoff QoS guarantee of various expected services. The characteristics of these methods reserve wired connection resources based on the information on the possible inter-cluster handoff calls. With mathematical analysis, we also propose each algorithm and cost function for deciding an optimal amount in reserving resources. With numberical examples, we can see that the auxiliary method effectively reduces the cost in all cases(.alpha.>.betha., .alpha.=.betha., and .alpha.<.betha.). The split method has a little cost-reduction effects, when handoffs call does not have priority over new calls (that is, .alpha..leq..betha.) and the total capacity is relatively large. In other cases, the split method, however, has effective cost-reduction effects. The numerical resutls show that these reservation methods ca flexibly cope with the time-variant environment and meet the QoS requriements on the inter-cluster handoff calls.
In this paper, we consider the methodology of efficient resource usage, specially web clustering system. We develope an algorithm that distributes the load on the web cluster system to use the system resources, such as system memory equally. The response time is chosen as a performance measure on the various clustering models. And based on the concurrent user to the web cluster system, the response time is also examined as the number of users increases. Simulation experience with this algorithm shows that the response time seems to have a good results compare to those with the other algorithm. And, also the effectiveness of clustered system becomes better as long as the number of concurrent user increases. The usage of developed algorithm is more useful when the system consists of many different sub-systems, a heterogeneous clustering system.

The management of organizational Human Resource is steadily shifting away from pure hierarchical to market mechanisms that involve external vendors. HR Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) has recently emerged as a significant administrative innovation in an organization's strategy. Our paper attempts to understand firm-specific factors influencing the scope of HR BPO needs. Study results show that IT maturity and firm size are influential factors on the scope of HR BPO needs. We hope that our attempt at empirically examining and predicting this emergent phenomenon will stimulate others to look at this important strategic challenge facing firms from a theoretical perspective. Such research initiatives will allow us not only to better understand this complex phenomenon, but also to drive useful management prescriptions grounded on theory-based research.

In this paper, we discuss a proposed two hop relay network with PB/MC-CDMA(partial block MC-CDMA) technique. The main advantages of PB/MC-CDMA system are the increased cell capacity and the high quality of performances. In the system, we employ relay scheme to focus on the coverage reduction and hotspot problem, hotspot is a location where a cluster of users are blocked or dropped for the reason of insufficient frequency resources. Frequency resource allocation scheme is put forward in a three cells system according to each problem. The simulation result shows the performance of the two hop transmission is better than the direct transmission and the proposed network can support much more users to relief hotspot effect compared to the conventional one.

This study seeks to critically examine the significance and limits of the cluster adaptive cycle model for analysis of cluster evolution and to propose research issues for future analysis of cluster evolution based on this critical examination. Until the 1980s, research on industrial complexes including clusters was based on a 'static perspective' that focuses on the aspect of economic space at a specific point in time, but the research paradigm has recently shifted to a 'dynamic perspective' focusing on 'evolution' of 'complex adaptive systems'. As a result, the adaptive cycle model has attracted attention as an analysis tool of dynamically evolving clusters. However, the cluster adaptive cycle model has emerged by being appropriately modified and expanded according to the properties of the cluster and its evolution. The cluster adaptive cycle model is a comprehensive analysis framework that identifies the characteristics of cluster evolution in terms of resource accumulation, interdependence, and resilience and classifies cluster evolution paths into six different categories. Nevertheless, there is still a need for further discussion and supplementation in terms of theoretical and empirical research to expand and deepen the model. Therefore, research issues for future analysis of cluster evolution are to specify and elaborate the cluster evolution model, to emphasize the concept of resilience, and to verify the applicability and usefulness of the model through empirical research.

In the GORRAM, the estimation of resource requirements for wartime equipment is based on the ELCON of the USA. The number of vulnerability groups of ELCON are 22, but unfortunately it is hard to determine how the 22 groups are classified. Thus, in this research we collected 505 types of basic items used in wartime and classified those items into new vulnerability groups using AHP and cluster analysis methods. We selected 11 variables through AHP to classify those items with cluster analysis. Next, we decided the number of vulnerability groups through hierarchical clustering and then we classified 505 types of basic items into the new vulnerability groups through K-means clustering. This paper presents new vulnerability groups of 505 types of basic items fitted to Korean weapon systems. Furthermore, our approach can be applied to a new weapon system which needs to be classified into a vulnerability group. We believe that our approach will provide practitioners in the military with a reliable and rational method for classifying wartime equipment and thus consequentially predict the exact estimation of resource requirements in wartime.
