  • Renewable energy information becomes one of the greatest issues, but it is difficult for a general user to manage and utilize new renewable energy information. Therefore we develop the utilization system of the resource map which aimed to provide the information for space analysis and vertification of the validity for development of each part of solar, wind, smallhydro, biomass, geothermal. But this system is needed to gather more supporting data and make resonable index to make various decisions.

Production of the Antifungal Compound Phenylacetic Acid by Antagonistic Bacterium Pseudomonas sp.

  • Antagonistic bacteria active against phytopathogenic fungi, Phytophthora capsici, Pythium ultimum, Rhizoctonia solani, Botrytis cinerea, and Fusarium oxysporum were isolated from greenhouse soils. An antifungal compound was extracted by ethyl acetate from acidified culture filtrate and purified through column chromatography and thin layer chromatography. Activity-guided bioassay was followed throughout the purification steps using Pythium ultimum as a test organism. The purified antifungal compound was identified as phenylacetic acid (PAA) based on the data obtained from IR, EI/MS, $^1H-NMR$, and $^{13}C-NMR$. Two different isolates, which had vast differences in differential characteristics except 16S rDNA sequence homology, produced the same compound, phenylacetic acid. $ED_{50}$ values of the phenylacetic acid against P. ultimum, P. capsici, R. solani, B. cinerea, and F. oxysporum were 45, 21, 318, 360, and 226 ppm, respectively.

  • The more the population grow, the severer the shortage of a basic human needs such as food, clean water, energy resources and so on. We had proved the possibility of utilizing deep ocean water as a environmental friendly resource to solve comprehensively above-mentioned problems for mankind based on observation and analysis of water quality. This study aims to evaluate feasibility of deep ocean water application, and establish multipurpose development and cascade utilization system of deep ocean water in the coastal zone of East sea to promote ocean development and fisheries industries.

Co-ordination between R&D and Human Resource in the post catching-up era

  • Korea has entered into the Post Catching-up era and the necessity of new innovation strategy in response is being raised. This study argues the necessity of new innovation strategy and discusses the issue of co-ordination between R&D and Human Resource for that as the key factor. From empirical analysis, there seems to be restricted inflow of outstanding human resources to manufacturing sectors and lowering effectiveness of major even with the improved compatibility between major and job. Especially, it is severe in the industries with high R&D investment. It can be interpreted as an incoordination of the technological innovation efforts from the aspect of R&D investment with human resource utilization from the aspect of new human resource. The analytical result and interpretation suggests that there should be more active improvement on the co-ordination between innovative manufacturers' efforts and human resource utilization, in order to keep sustainable development.

이동 통신망 무선자원의 효율적 이용에 관한 연구 (Study of efficient resource utilization on the wireless mobile networks)

  • In most resource reservation strategies, which give higher priorities to handoff calls over new calls, new calls are often blocked even though there is plenty of available reserved resource. This causes inefficient resource utilization, especially when there are not so many handoff attempts. In this paper, we propose a new reservationstrategy called soft reservation in which new calls can be allocated to the reserved resource while maintaining the QoS of handoff acceptable. Using an M/M/c/c queuing model, we can see that the proposed strategy provides better performance than the conventional reservation strategy in terms of blocking probability of new call and dropping probability of handoff calls.

노인장기요양보험 이용자 특성에 따른 자원사용량 차이 (Difference in Resource Utilization according to Beneficiary Characteristics of the Long-term Care Facilities)

  • Fee for long-term care insurance in Korea are determined in proportion to resources utilized according to severity rather than based on categorization of beneficiaries in consideration of the characteristics of resource utilization. This adoption is based on the assumption that as beneficiaries of long-term care insurance, characteristically, demands social services rather than needs medical treatments, the characteristics of beneficiaries and the quality of utilized resources are comparatively homogenous. Therefore, the proposition is that the size of resource consumed by beneficiaries in the same grade is identical. However, even in the same grade, the level of utilized resources is different depending on the characteristic of beneficiaries. In this regard, this study is to examine whether there are differences in the volumes of utilized resources depending on the characteristics of beneficiaries even in the same grade. We analyzed time study data for 2003, 2005, 2006 which conducted by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs. To look at differences in the volumes of utilized resources, we identified characteristics of beneficiaries that influence utilized resource volumes and categorized services provided by facilities into the rehabilitation treatment category, the problematic behavior category, and the physical malfunction category. Then, we examined each service in consideration of service difficulty levels and wage weights. The result of examination showed that differences in utilized resource volumes exist in all three grades depending on the characteristics of beneficiaries. Especially, in the first grade with a high level of seriousness, utilized resource volumes were different for those three service categories and the problematic behaviour category considered dementia was found to consume the largest volume of resources. Moreover, there was the inversion phenomenon of utilized resources volumes between the grades. This result indicates that utilized resource volumes are different even in the same grade depending on the characteristics of beneficiaries and it is required to consider case-mix for reflection of the volumes of utilized resources depending on the characteristics of beneficiaries.

자원 요구량과 가격 예측 기반의 그리드 자원 거래 모델 (Resource Demand and Price Prediction-based Grid Resource Transaction Model)

  • 본 논문에서는 그리드 컴퓨팅의 기존 자원 거래망 모델들의 문제점을 분석하고, 해결하기 위한 새로운 자원 거래 모델을 제안한다. 이 모델은 사용자와 자원 공급자 사이의 거래 가격을 예측하고 합리적인 거래 가격을 제시한다. 합리적인 가격 제안을 통해, 사용자와 자원 공급자 사이의 더 많은 자원 거래를 발생시키고, 사용자는 더 짧은 시간에 자원을 공급받게 된다. 본 논문에서 사용자의 자원 요구량 예측 정확도를 향상시키기 위하여 통계학의 예측 모델을 도입하였고 합리적인 가격 제안을 위해 미시 경제학의 가격 결정 이론을 도입하였다. 본 모델의 성능 평가를 위하여 사용자의 자원 요구량 예측 정확도, 자원 거래를 위한 응답시간, 자원 거래 횟수 그리고 사용자의 자원 활용률을 측정하였다. 실험의 결과로는 자원 예측 정확도는 87.45%의 신뢰성 있는 결과를 얻었고, 기존 모델들에 비해 응답시간은 72.39% 단축 되었다. 또한, 자원 거래 횟수는 162.56% 증가 하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 모델의 평균 자원 활용률은 90%에 근접했으며 기존 모델들과 비교해서는 230%이상 자원 활용률이 증가 하였다.

한 도시 대학병원 자료를 이용한 입원환자의 의료서비스 이용량 변이에 관한 연구 (Variation in resource utilization for inpatients among university teaching hospitals in a city)

  • The variation in resource utilization for hospitalized patients who had a group of similar diseases -- a Korean Diagnosis Related Group (KDRG) -- among the same type of hospitals was studied to assess the utillization variation due to the practice pattern of hospitals. Information about inpatients who were beneficiaries of the medical insurance for teachers and government officials discharged from 20 large university teaching hospitals in Seoul during 1986 and information about the hospitals were analyzed to achieve the study objective. A total of 20,223 non-outlier patients in 100 most frequent KDRGs were included in the analysis. Case charges after the review and length of stay (LOS) were used as measures of resource utilization during a hospitalization. A substantial variation among hospitals was found in most KDRGs : o the ratio of the maximum and the minimum among the mean case charges of hospitals was greater than 2 in 83 KDRGs ; o the difference between the maximum and the minimum among the mean case charges of hospitals was greater than 100,000 Won in 94 KDRGs : o the ratio of the maximum and the minimum among the mom LOS of hospitals was greater than 2 in 82 KDRGs ; o the difference between the maximum and the minimum among the mean LOS of hospitals was greater than 3 days in 94 KDRGs. The practice pattern of hospitals explained more than 20% of charge variation in 49 KDRGs and more than 20% of LOS variation in 43 KDRGs. The study results indicated need for a new health policy initiative for cost containment and quality assurance.

주파수 공유를 고려한 전파자원 이용효율 측정 방안 (Measurement of Spectrum Utilization Efficiency Considering Spectrum Sharing)

  • 전파자원을 이용한 다양한 무선 서비스에 대한 급증하는 수요는 더 많은 주파수 자원의 확보를 요구한다. 그러나 주파수 자원의 희소성과 고대역 주파수 발굴의 어려움을 감안하면, 늘어나는 전파자원의 수요를 충족시킬 수 있는 유일한 방법은 기존 전파자원의 이용 효율을 극대화시키는 것이다. 이러한 상황에서, 전파자원에 대한 초과 수요를 해결하기 위한 다양한 주파수 공유 방안이 최근 활발히 논의되고 있다. 이와 더불어, 주파수 공유의 실효성 검증과 무선시스템의 성과 예측을 위해, 주파수 이용효율 측정의 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전파자원 이용효율의 합리적 측정 방법을 제안한다. 국제전기통신연합(ITU) 권고안을 토대로 전파자원 이용효율의 다양한 측정 방법을 고찰하고, 대기행렬모형을 이용한 전파 자원 이용효율 측정의 대안 모델을 제시한다. 이를 통해, 주파수 공유 시 전파자원의 이용효율이 어느 정도 증대되는지를 합리적으로 예측할 수 있다.

최적 레이턴시 기반 공정 큐잉 방식의 개선에 관한 연구 (A study on Improving Latency-Optimized Fair Queuing Algorithm)

  • 널리 이용되고 있는 공정 큐잉 방식인 WFQ(Weighted Fair Queuing)는 특히 인터넷 전화와 같이 저속이지만 엄격한 지연한계를 요구하는 서비스에 대해 대역폭 이용도가 저하되는 문제점을 갖고 있다. 이러한 WFQ의 문제점은 흐름의 레이턴시가 최적화되지 못하기 때문에 발생하는 것으로 최근에 밝혀졌고, 이어서 최적레이턴시 기반 공정 큐잉 방식인 LOFQ(Latency-Optimized Fair Queuing)가 도입되었다. 본 연구에서는 LOFQ에 점유자원 최적화 기능을 추가하여 성능특성을 더욱 개선하고, 반복적으로 수행되던 LOFQ의 자원변환 알고리즘을 개선하여 수행 복잡성을 줄인다. 아울러 WFQ에 비해 대역폭 이용도가 우수함을 증명한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능개선 효과를 확인한 결과 $20{\sim}30%$의 개선이 있었다.
