본사 자원과 메커니즘의 유사성과 격차가 합작투자기업의 학습효과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Resource, Mechanism Relatedness and Gap on International Knowledge Transfer)

  • This research examines the effect of the relatedness and the gap between Resources and mechanisms on effectiveness of inter-organizational knowledge transfer. According to the literature, there has been a competing theory between two claims; one is that inter-organizational knowledge transfer will be more effective due to the reduction of the transaction cost as the relatedness increases. And the other is that the mutual complementarity of different organizational characteristics will increase synergy. In total, the relatedness and the gap of the Resource and mechanism makes the inverted U-shaped relationship with the inter-organizational knowledge transfer. As the result of empirical analysis about 109 Korean-based Joint Ventures entered country, it shows that the relatedness of parent company's production Resources, learning mechanisms, and coordination mechanisms made the inverted U-shaped relations with the inter-organizational knowledge transfer and the gap of production Resources and adjustment mechanism formed the same relationship. However, the U-shaped relationship has been established in the relatedness of market Resources, but the gap of market Resources and the learning mechanism was not statistically significant. Through this study, I can draw a best conclusion that the inter-organizational knowledge transfer will be more effective when the relatedness and the gap of management resources and mechanisms is in optimal level. However, when it comes to market Resources, it can be inferred that the result could be the opposite because the partner country's market environment would be different.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 병원 헬스케어 서비스 분야에서 ICT 조직기능 연관성(Information and Communication Technology Relatedness)과 조직환경이 의료진간 또는 의료진과 환자간 상호작용과 지식공유에 어떻게 영향을 미치며, 지식공유는 의료 서비스 혁신, 그리고 서비스 혁신은 서비스성과에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지를 구조화된 모델을 통해 연구하는 것이다. 자원준거관점(Resource based view), 적합구조화이론(Adaptive Structuration Theory), 그리고 서비스 혁신이론을 기반으로 헬스케어 서비스 시스템에서 성과에 영향을 미치는 주요요인으로 ICT 조직기능 연관성, 구성원간의 상호작용과 지식공유를 설정했고, 성과요인으로는 서비스 혁신과 서비스 성과를 설정였다. 모델의 검증을 위해 병원에서 종사하는 의료직, 기능직, 사무직 종사자들을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 분석하였다. 모델 검증 결과, 모든 가설들은 유의미하게 성과창출에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 구조화된 조직환경과 ICT 조직기능 연관성은 서비스 조직구성원 및 환자들의 행위에 영향을 주어 상호작용 및 지식공유를 촉진하고, 병원 헬스케어 서비스의 혁신과 성과에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소임을 시사하고 있다.

정보보안체계 수립이 Multibusiness 기업 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: IT Relatedness 이론 관점에서 (Study about the Impact of Information Security Systems on Corporate Performance: Based on IT Relatedness Theory)

  • According to the development of new Information Technologies, firms consistently invest a significant amount of money in IT activities, such as establishing internal and external information systems. However, several anti-Information activities-such as hacking, leakage of information and system destruction-are also rapidly increasing, thus many firms are exposed to direct and indirect threats. Therefore, firms try to establish information security systems and manage these systems more effectively via an enterprise perspective. However, stakeholders or some managers have negative opinions about information security systems. Therefore, in this research, we study the relationship between multibusiness firms' performance and information security systems. Information security indicates physical and logical correspondence of information system department against threats and disaster. Studies on information security systems suggested frameworks such as IT Governance Cube and COBIT Framework to identify information security systems. Thus, this study define that information security systems is a controlled system on enterprise IT process and resource on IT Governance perspective rather than independent domain of IT. Thus, Information Security Systems should be understood as a subordinate concept of IT and business processes. In addition, this study incorporates information capability to information security system literature to show the positive relationship between Information Security Systems and Corporate Performance. The concept of information capability suggested that an interaction of human, information, technical and an effect on corporate performance using three types of capability (IT Practice, Information Management Practice, Information Behaviors and Values). Information capability is about firms' capability to manage IT infrastructure and information as well as individual employees who use IT infrastructure and information. Thus, this study uses information capability as a mediating variable for the relationship between information security systems and firms' performance. To investigate the relationship between Information Security Systems and multibusiness firms' performance, this study extends the IT relatedness concept into Information Security Systems. IT relatedness provides understanding of how corporations cope with conflicts between headquarters and business units to create a synergy effect and achieve high performance using IT resources. Based on the previous literature, this study develops the IT Security Relatedness model. IT Security Relatedness is our main independent variable, while Information Capability and Information Security Performance are mediating variables. To control for the common method bias, we collect each multibusiness firm's financial performance and use it as our dependent variable. We find that Information Security Systems influence Information Capability and Information Security Performance positively, and these two variables consequently influence Corporate Performance positively. In addition, this result indirectly shows that corporations under a multibusiness environment can obtain synergy effects using the integrated Information Security Systems. This positive impact of Information Security Systems on multibusiness firms' performance has an important implication to various stakeholders. Therefore, multibusiness firms need to establish Information Security Systems to achieve better financial performance.

반도체 산업의 작업환경과 질병의 경험들 (Working Environment and Experiences of Diseases in Semiconductor Industry)

  • Objectives: Information of chemical in electronics industry has not been known enough, although workers' health hazards by chemicals in this industry have been regarded serious. The who always contribute to reveal and control the health hazards and risks in electronics industry have not been the industry but the occupational or environmental victims and grassroot organizations. The similar phenomena can be observed in Korea. Methods: The experiences of individual workers on the occuapational safety and health in semiconductor factory were heard separately and integrated with related literatures. Results:: The first part of this article is largely based on the memories and experiences of individual workers of semiconductor factories, mainly from S semiconductor. Common features of those experiences can be a good resource for detail understanding of the workplace, especially under the situation without any transparent disclosure of information by the governments or the companies. The second part of this article deals with several factors to be considered for control of exposure in workplace; characteristics of workplace and workforce, types of chemicals used, and the way of using the chemicals. Then the current social issues on work-relatedness of cancers of S semiconductor workers are presented briefly. Conclusions: As a conclusion, current OSH situations and issues in Korean electronics industry raise the need of changes in OSH culture. General adaptation of precautionary principle, internalization of costs, and extended responsibility of producers are needed urgently. The OSH professionals both in public and private sectors should support these agendas under their social obligation to protect workers' health.

Halobacillus blutaparonensis sp. nov., a Moderately Halophilic Bacterium Isolated from Blutaparon portulacoides Roots in Brazil

  • A moderately halophilic, Gram-positive, spore-forming bacterium was isolated from the roots of Blutaparon portulacoides, a plant found in sandy soil parallel to the beach line in Restinga de Jurubatiba, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The strain, designated $M9^T$, was motile and strictly aerobic with rod-shaped cells. It grew in the absence of NaCl and up to 20% NaCl, and was able to hydrolyze casein and starch. Strain $M9^T$ had a cell-wall peptidoglycan based on L-Orn-D-Asp, the predominant menaquinone present was menaquinone-7 (MK-7), diaminopimelic acid was not found, and anteiso-$C_{15:0}$ and iso-$C_{15:0}$ were the major fatty acids. A phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain $M9^T$ belonged to the genus Halobacillus and exhibited 16S rRNA gene similarity levels of 97.8-99.4% with the type strains of the other nine Halobacillus species. The DNA-DNA relatedness of strain $M9^T$ with H. trueperi, the closest relative as regards 16S rRNA gene similarity, and H. locisalis was 21% and 18%, respectively. Therefore, on the basis of phenotypic, genotypic, and phylogenetic data, strain $M9^T$ (=ATCC BAA-$1217^T$, =CIP $108771^T$, =KCTC $3980^T$) should be placed in the genus Halobacillus as a member of a novel species, for which the name Halobacillus blutaparonensis sp. nov. is proposed.

디지털 도서관의 웹자원 기반 장서개발 (Web Resources Based Collection Development for Digital Libraries)

  • 각종 정보원이 웹으로 제공되는 것이 보편화되어 있는 현실에서 웹자원은 단순한 정보제공 차원을 뛰어 넘어 실물 장서와 같이 체계적인 관리과 이용의 대상으로 인식되어야 한다. 웹기반 장서개발을 위해서는 표준화된 웹자원 평가요소의 확립이 시급한데, 웹자원 평가요소로는 일반적으로 권위성, 신뢰성, 내용의 성실성, 기능성, 연결성, 접근성, 구조 및 디자인, 링크사항, 이용자 지원 및 보호 등이 거론되고 있다. 그러나 효과적인 장서개발을 위해서는 웹자원의 유형별 특성을 감안하여 특정 평가요소를 강조하거나 포함하는 유연성이 필요하다. 또한 디지털 도서관의 웹자원 기반 장서개발 전략을 위해서 가치, 요구, 중복 방지, 지적 재산권, 지적 통제 평가기준은 면밀히 검토되어야 한다. 웹자원 평가의 객관성과 일관성을 위해 선정위원회를 조직하거나 웹환경 장서개발 모형을 개발하는 것, 다른 디지털 도서관과의 협력을 증진시켜 새로운 기준, 프로토콜, 마크업(markups), 메타데이터 등을 공유하게 하는 것, 이용자 중심의 장서개발을 위해 노력하는 것 등은 더 나은 웹자원 장서개발을 위한 또 다른 전략으로 제시되었다.

인수합병에 있어 지식자원 간 상호보완성이 인수합병성과에 미치는 영향 분석: 전자상거래 산업을 중심으로 (Assessing the Effects of Knowledge Resource Complementarity on Organizational Performance in Merge and Acquisition (M&A): Focused on Electronic Commerce Industries)

  • Although merger and acquisition (M&A) has been considered as an important means to improve firm performance, most prior empirical research have failed to prove the relationship between M&A and firm performance. In order to fill this gap, this study attempts to identify the effect of M&A on firm performance based on knowledge resources relatedness and complementarity theory. For this purpose, this study examines complementarity patterns of knowledge resources and their impacts on acquirer's performance using M&A announcements of electronic commerce industry from 2001 to 2007. The results of this study indicate complementarity among knowledge resources are positively related with acquirer's market value. This study contributes to expand knowledge management research by identifying the relationship among knowledge resources and their impacts on firm performance.

마이다스아이티의 뇌과학 기반 인적자원 관리 사례 연구 (Neuroscience based human resource management at Midas IT Co._A case study)

  • 지난 20여 년 간 뇌 과학은 기능성 자기공명영상(fMRI) 등 새로운 기술에 힘입어 크게 발전했으며, 우리는 인간의 본성과 행동 변화에 대해 더욱 정확한 지식을 얻게 됐다. 이 같은 지식은 경영 분야에도 활발하게 응용되고 있다. 이 연구는 마이다스아이티의 사례를 통해 뇌과학을 경영에 어떻게 접목할 수 있는지 통찰을 얻는 것이 목적이다. 건설 소프트웨어 회사인 이 회사는 별도 조직을 두어 뇌 과학을 연구하고 있으며, 뇌 과학에 기반한 인사 정책을 만들어 시행하고 있다. 창업자 이형우 사장은 인본주의 경영 철학을 갖고 있으며, 뇌 과학 연구는 그 철학을 뒷받침한다. 연구 방법으로 사례연구 방법을 채택하였으며, 인터뷰와 직접 관찰, 참여 관찰, 문서 정보 등의 절차를 수행했다. 이 회사의 인적자원 관리 시스템은 뇌과학 연구가 응집된 'SCARF'라는 뇌과학 모델로 설명이 가능하다. 이 회사는 이 모델이 제시하는 것처럼 일터에서 지위감(Status), 확실성(Certainty), 자율감(Autonomy), 관계성(Relatedness), 공정성(Fariness) 위협을 줄임으로써 구성원의 신뢰와 만족도를 제고했고, 이는 창의적이고 고성과 조직이 되는 발판이 되었다.

한천분해 미생물 Vibrio sp. GNUM08123의 동정 및 agarase 생산의 발효적 특성 (Identification and Characterization of Agar-degrading Vibrio sp. GNUM08123 Isolated from Marine Red Macroalgae)

  • An agar-degrading bacterium, designated as the GNUM08123 strain, was isolated from samples of red algae collected from the Yongil Bay near East Sea, Korea. The isolated GNUM08123 strain was gram-negative, aerobic, motile, and beige-pigmented, with $C_{16:0}$ (25.9%) and summed feature 3 (comprising $C_{16:1}{\omega}7c/iso-C_{15:0}2-OH$, 34.4%) as its major cellular fatty acids. A similarity search based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that it belonged to class Gammaproteobacteria and shared 97.7% similarity with the type strain Vibrio chagasii $R-3712^T$. The DNA G+C content of strain $GNUM08123^T$ was 46.9 mol%. The major isoprenoid quinone was ubiquinone-8. The results of DNA-DNA relatedness and 16S rRNA sequence similarity analyses, in addition to its phenotypic and chemotaxonomic characteristics, suggest that strain GNUM08123 is a novel species within genus Vibrio, designated as Vibrio sp. GNUM08123. Agarase production by strain GNUM08123 was induced by agar and sucrose, but was repressed probably owing to carbon catabolite repression by glucose and maltose.

지식서비스기업의 관리프로세스 비효율에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구 (Factors Affecting Management Process Inefficiency of Knowledge Service Firms)

  • 지식서비스기업은 자신들이 가진 지식과 경험에 기반하여 고객문제 해결 및 조직관리 프로세스의 효율성을 향상시킴으로써 보다 높은 성과를 창출할 수 있다. 본 연구는 관리 프로세스에 대해 그 동안 간과되어 왔던 비효율을 중심으로 탐구하며, 그 선행요인으로 위계문화와 IT 조직기능 연관성을 제시하고 각 관계를 강화하는 업무 난이도의 조절효과에 대해 실증하였다. 분석 결과, 관리프로세스 비효율에 대해 위계문화는 정(+)의 영향을, IT 조직기능 연관성은 부(-)의 영향을, 그 둘의 관계 사이에서 업무 난이도는 모두 유의한 조절효과를 나타내었다. 또한 관리프로세스 비효율은 조직성과에 부(-)의 영향을 미치며 IT 조직기능 연관성과 조직성과 사이에서 완전매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 지식서비스기업이 보다 높은 성과를 달성하기 위해서는 형식적 절차의 최소화, 적절한 권한위임을 통한 의사결정 융통성 확보, 원활한 정보흐름 및 소통 분위기 조성, 임직원들의 IT 자원관리 및 활용수준 제고 등을 통해 위계문화는 낮추고 IT 조직기능 연관성은 향상시켜야 한다. 또한 업무프로세스 비효율을 보다 효과적으로 낮추기 위해서는, 업무난이도가 높은 기업은 위계문화 제거에, 낮은 기업은 IT 조직기능 연관성 향상에 상대적으로 더 많은 노력을 기울일 것이 요구된다.
